Race does not matter to me....

I have always voted for dems regardless of race.  Had Hiliary made it through the primary, I would vote for her, even though I personally believe that our country is not ready a female to hold that position.  I speak from a female point of view and we are too often guided by our feelings and make rash decisions, but later end up regretting our action because we did not think it through.  I would love to have Bill back as our president, life was good and he worked for the people.

why does it matter if he is "half white"? that is the race thing - nm
x
Race riots if he doesn't win and if he does,
all those votes from ACORN that went after the black vote.
It doesn't matter when. sm
The bill is about when and not now, meaning NOW, prisoners taken in war are dealt with by us.  The bill is about when Iraq becomes a full democracy and has nothing to do with who cares most about the soldiers.  This just caught my eye on the menu because it is wrong headed. And, if it were true, the media would be headlining it.  They aren't.
doesn't matter to me
I think my candidate could hold his own against either one of those, but everyone has to protect "poor Sarah." Frankly, I don't want a leader that has to be handled with kid gloves. Geez.
Doesn't matter. I will NOT be in ANY way...
responsible for putting Barack Obama in the White House. NO WAY. NO HOW.
No it really doesn't matter..
I tune in just about everyday just to hear her and Joy go at it. Joy is rude, typical New Yorker I can say that, I am from there, so no flaming.
i think that it doesn't really matter who won
We're in the economic crapper either way. Now the pubs will be able to blame the dems for the next 4 years.
doesn't matter

where I live or where you live.  A republican who tries to suppress voter turnout by declaring that registrations on a certain weight of paper are invalid is not a good guy. Notice he was voted out of office?  All youse defending Joe the Plumber and condemning a corrupt public official have your head screwed on backwards. The dems are in control now, so bleat on as you wish.  we will defend your right to opinion as well as own.  We're just that kinda folk.

Doesn't matter what you THINK you know
One of my best friends is an immigration lawyer and also does adoption from foreign countries. He knows the laws and says Indonesia does NOT have dual citizenship.....never has with the U.S. and the U.S. does not recognize dual citizenship with Indonesia.

Dealing with countries that do not recognize dual citizenship is not the same as say dealing with Great Britain.

Under Indonesian law, if a parent renounces a child's citizenship to another country, that is all that matters. That child no longer has U.S. citizenship......period!!! His stepfather renounced his citizenship to the U.S., whether you like it or not.

Now, if Obama wanted to renounce his citizenship to Indonesia, he could have done so at the appropriate age of adulthood, but he did not. Even then, it takes a lot more in Indonesia that just renouncing....a lot of mumbo jumbo and red tape to do that as well.

Indonesia does have a law starting in ག that supposedly would allow dual citizenship, but it still hasn't gotten roots yet and really no one has been able to even get dual citizenship with this supposed law, so like it or not, Obama is NOT a U.S. citizen.

Doesn't matter what name you use, we

It doesn't matter who they are or what their politics are either. sm
Doctoring is just plain wrong, not matter the reason.
None to few but that doesn't matter to the left. sm
President Bush has always been held to a *higher standard*.   Excuse me while I barf.
It doesn't matter who or what you voted for -
in the past. If you voted for someone or something in the past election(s), and you feel it was a mistake, and then you vote for the same thing again, that would very likely make you a moron.
It doesn't have to matter to you...did not post it for you alone...
She is a member of the Democratic National Committee, for pete's sake. That is not just any committee as far as politics are concerned.

I understand YOU don't care. I get it. But I think others will. SHe is not just endorsing him, she is going to campaign for him for Pete's sake...lol.

It is virtually unheard of for a member of the national committee of either party to endorse the OTHER party's candidate. Especially a Democrat.

Obama really ticked some people off. As smart as he has been in other decisions, someone sure led him wrong on a big one.

Wow...this could be another game changer.
Doesn't matter. The message is still the same.

It really doesn't matter who moderates - sm
Because, no matter what, any misstep Palin makes will be magnified a thousand fold by the left wing, then mocked on SNL, then replayed ad infinitum on Leno and by the harpies on The View and by "I've-got-a-crush-on-Obama" Letterman.

And any blunder Biden makes will be laughed off as, "Oh, that whacky Joe."
Doesn't matter to me. I can look up the votes...
on regulation and deregulation. McCain was right about this crisis looming, Dems killed the bill in committee. What I saw was a 30-year product of what is wrong with Washington now and someone who is the antithesis of Washington politics. I am ready for REAL change.

To use your words, hey genius...its the Patriot Act. And it has already been used to foil plots within the US. We live in a different world now. Obama voted to extend the Patriot Act by the way. Just so you know.
Truly doesn't matter where she appears or what she does...sm
the left will always find a reason to find fault of some sort.

It's actually rather admirable for her to take this particular bull by the horns, and appear on SNL's "weekly Palin smear show."

Unfortunately, I hear they're also going to follow the Obama campaign and the media's lead and smear Joe the Plumber for asking a question, that gave the Obama answer, that has Obama's campaign scrambling to try to save themselves from ruin.

Obama's answer to Joe is the real big problem here....and was an election breaker and maker, and Obama knows it, and so do the American people.

Mark my words....Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber, have saved McCain in this election.

And Obama knows it and is running scared again.....
you know, it doesn't really matter what he says because somebody will always discount it as a lie

seems that all those calls are being ignored anyway since we are getting reports about a compromise measure on the stimulus plan that appears bound for passage. Whose got deaf ears now? Huh?
Doesn't matter how you get it - whether by check -SM
or by paying $600 less in taxes. $600 is $600. Even if that causes you to break even on taxes, not owing and not paying, if you didn't have to pay $600 in taxes, then you're at least not in the hole for it, either. I'll take it any way I can get it.
Doesn't matter what I would suggest,

no one in the upper echelon would listen anyway. Look how many people HAVE complained to the government and they went and did what they wanted to anyway.

First, home mortages/foreclosures should have been taken care of by way of being able to re-finance through banks (which probably will not happen), but in reality, should have been taken care of in the bank bailout. There should have been a lot of stipulations in the bank bailout that were not put in place but both dems and pubs voted for it. There should not have been government jobs/waste in the new stimulus plan; i.e., parks, high speed rail between Disneyland and Las Vegas, STD/sex stuff, and whoopdedo a $13 a week in our paycheck, but you know all that.

BTW, heard O state today that the $13 a week equals $65 a month. Do the math. He's going by a 5-week month, not 4. There are a couple months that have 5 weeks, but not many, so he's slightly wrong there.

There is so much wrong with this stimulus package. FYI, I'm not whining. I'm complaining but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

What's sad is it doesn't matter which party
The liberal dems wring their hands about the plight of these people and want to let them stay (and hand them the moon) for 'humanitarian' reasons.

The conservative reps support the corporate interests of a ready supply of cheap labor (and we know how well that's worked for MTs), appealing to the citizen's desire for inexpensive products.

Bottom line is that they're both seeking the vote of the millions of Hispanic immigrants, both legal and illegal*.

*: Anything can be bought. The same social security cards and driver's license that some use to get work are used to register to vote. It's harder to cash a check at my bank than it is to register to vote.
doesn't matter if you're conservative or liberal
if you stray away from the "hate Bush", "impeach Bush" or "the war is wrong" mantra they'll rip you up like a pack of wolves.   Most of these posters are extremists.

Ayers doesn't regret the bombings, doesn't feel like they did enough sm

In a story that appeared in the Times on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Ayers told a reporter while promoting his memoir "Fugitive Days": "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."

Mr. Ayers, now a professor of education in Chicago, was a founder of the Weather Underground, which bombed government buildings in the early 1970s. He was indicted on conspiracy charges that were thrown out for prosecutorial misconduct.

He served with Mr. Obama on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago, a charitable organization, and, along with his wife, the former Weather Underground member Bernardine Dohrn, hosted Mr. Obama at his home in 1995 when he was running for state office.

Mr. Obama has called Mr. Ayers "somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old."...so because it was 40 years ago, and Ayers is still proud of what he did, how is it justifiable for a US presidential candidate to now be friends with this man?  Unless he has the same view of America.

Let me rephrase that. It doesn't *seem like* my vote doesn't count...sm
It does not count because its in the bag that our 3 electoral votes will go to the republican party.
this is not about race

It's not about race?

It's not about what kind of job this guy can do, or how well he can lead the country.  No it most certainly has not been!  And I'm sick and tired of everyone making it out otherwise.  It's always been about race and that's all its ever been about!  I'm hopeful that anyone will be able to pull us out of this depression no matter what their color is or whether it be a man or woman.  It's not going to be an easy job.  But all through the campaign and to this day we kept hearing about how it's not about race.  That was the line that this man from Illinois was trying to sell to us.  He'd walk around and tell us he understands what we're going through, it's not about race.  Then he'd talk about his grandmother being afraid of black me (uh, hello..I thought you said it wasn't about race).  When he was elected my brother and his friends went out and celebrated in the streets because now we got a brother in there.  He said to me, "you should be happy because we finally got a brother in the white house who is one of us".  I asked him what does he mean "one of us", that's he's black like us so I should rejoicing and saying hallelulah thank you Jesus.

But this latest display of what he has planned for the innaugeration has got to be the most downright utter distasteful display of "flaunting" his race.  Now at the inaugeration it's going to be a huge "Gone With the Winds" type of theme with ladies in their plantation dresses.  I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure I'll be hearing about him dressing the blacks up like the what our ancestors were dressed when they were slaves.  He has taken racism to a whole new level.  This is disgusting and this is not what the men who founded this country had in mind.  It took us years and years to get through the slavery issues and now here comes Mr. Obama bringing all that sh!t back up again and dividing people.  I've got some friends who are white and nowhere in their history do they have any relatives who owned slaves, but now Mr. Obama is going to make all of them feel as though they are slave owners.  I don't know what it is but why does America seem to get stuck and not be able to move forward.  Instead of looking into the future he's dragging back up the plantation and slavery issues and making a big deal of them.  I am just sick to death of coming on and reading how it's not about race when that's all that it is about.  I voted for Mr. Obama because I like him.  I didn't think he was qualified and he doesn't have the experience, but I'm willing to give a new unknown person a chance.  Now he pulls this racial crap and it makes me ashamed to be black and more ashamed that I was conned into his lies and voted for him. (even the NAACP is criticizing this).  It's not about race??????  Tell me another one.

Why is it about race? (sm)

Because of the following, which has been well known for hundreds of years now.  This form of racism was established in the American culture by white people, some of whom now deny its existence.

Subconscious mental connection between blacks, apes may reinforce subtle discrimination

March 5th, 2008 in Medicine & Health / Psychology

Many U.S. citizens may not hold openly racist beliefs today, but they still may subconsciously link African Americans with apes because people still use words and metaphors that subtly reinforce a less-than-human bias and endorse violence against Blacks, according to a new study.

"Historical racist images and books dehumanizing African Americans in the 19th and early 20th century relied heavily on the Negro-ape metaphor, which was used to stereotype Blacks as lazy, dim and aggressive," said lead author Phillip Atiba Goff, assistant professor of psychology at Penn State. "Such dehumanization and animal imagery have been used for centuries to justify violence against many oppressed groups.

"The images have disappeared from popular culture and from most people's memory," he added. "However, after completing six studies, we found strong evidence that Black-ape linkages still influence people subconsciously and impact their judgment particularly in the case of African American suspects and defendants."

The study's findings are published in the paper, "Not Yet Human: Implicit Knowledge, Historical Dehumanization and Contemporary Consequences," in a recent issue (February) of Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, which is published by the American Psychological Association.

Goff and fellow researchers Jennifer Eberhardt, associate professor of psychology at Stanford University; Matthew C. Jackson and Melissa J. Williams, graduate students at Penn State and Berkeley, respectively, conducted six studies of college-age students. They found that participants – even those with no stated prejudices or knowledge of the historical images – were quicker to associate Blacks with apes than they were to associate Whites with apes.

Goff and fellow researchers Jennifer Eberhardt, associate professor of psychology at Stanford University, Matthew C. Jackson and Melissa J. Williams, graduate students at Penn State and Berkeley, respectively, conducted six studies of White college-age students. They found that participants – even those with no stated prejudices or knowledge of the historical images -- were quicker to associate Blacks with apes than they were to associate Whites with apes.

In the first three studies, researchers subliminally flashed Black or White male faces on a screen for a fraction of a second to "prime" the participants, who could identify blurry ape drawings much faster after they were primed with Black faces than with White faces.
