I think the only person I ever heard compared to Hitler was Bush
so I don't even get where that came from

It is weird when people accuse you of making the OP's point. Because, it is okay for THEM to say whatever they want, but if anyone opposes them you are everything they are not.

wow, hypocrites to the end
Average being between 5% and 10% net...sm
after all expenses for a small business means that would be a GROSS income of between $2.5 and $5 million. That is a pretty big small business.
I wonder what is the average IQ intelligence of Americans

That's the average salary, not the Red Cross
That's kind of misleading, since it's the average salary for a non-profit CEO and whereas there are many little ones, the CEOs of the big ones (Red Cross and United Way) do make huge amounts. Takes a lot of nerve for them to ask me for my pittance of a donation!

Mine goes to Salvation Army.

Average family on S-CHIP makes around 40,000 -

Most states cover a family of 4 making around $40,000 per year. I know in Montana you have to make even less than that to qualify for S-CHIP, so although the $80,000 obviously upsets you greatly, it is not the norm, but the exception.

The only reason I bring up the abortion issue (which I have mixed feelings about myself and will not get into in this topic) is because I think if that baby is born that baby deserves healthcare.  Simple as that.  I don't see any hypocrisy in that statement, but I'm sure you will since you seem to find something wrong with every one of my arguments.

Doesn't matter - my 401K is losing an average of $3K
per DAY. Not per week, per DAY. If the loss continues at this rate, it will hit a zero balance and I'll have nuthin' to lose. So I'm voting for Obama, cuz I sure as he11 don't want that old Republican prune taxing my HEALTH CARE next.
I guess I am looking at the distinct disadvantage the average worker in America finds himself in.
Most are not old enough to remember why unions were necessary in the first place.  Of course unions are far from perfect, but without the collective bargaining power they afford, I'm not sure what our options are.  If it is left up to the corporations then more and more is taken from the worker.  That seems to be what has played out.  Ideas?
compared to

what exactly?

Larger-Than-Life Corporate Salaries are Unfair to Average American Workers. see article.

Commentary: Larger-Than-Life Corporate Salaries are Unfair to Average American Workers

Date: Friday, April 14, 2006
By: Judge Greg Mathis, BlackAmericaWeb.com

Despite slower-than-anticipated growth and lower-than-expected profits, many corporations have generously rewarded their leaders, while simultaneously reducing lower-level staff salaries and benefits in an attempt to control costs. This disturbing practice only serves to further widen the gap between America’s wealthy few and its working class and clearly demonstrates just how little this country values its workforce.

At a time when most American workers are struggling to make basic ends meet and worrying how they’ll manage to save enough for retirement, many of this country’s corporate chief executives are stuffing their pockets with larger-than-life compensation packages that include high base salaries, stock options and ample pension plans. In 2004, the average chief executive’s salary at a large company was more than 170 times that of the average worker’s pay. Last year, executive salaries grew 25 percent, while that of the average American worker grew only 3.1 percent.

Even when a company struggles, their CEOs are still rewarded. For example, the current CEO of a global manufacturing firm received over $11 million in compensation last year, despite the company’s $3.4 billion revenue loss, an 11-percent drop in stock value and a staff reduction of 17,000 workers. There are similar stories at corporations across the country. While worker pensions are frozen and many are asked to do without raises, CEOs manage to earn their multi-million dollar bonuses.

It’s no surprise that CEOs are cleaning up. Consider this: Corporations often use compensation committees to set their executive salaries. Many of these committees use outside consultants to help guide the process. These consultants are often already contracted to do other work for the company. The conflict of interest here is obvious: The consultant won’t upset the CEO -- and risk losing other contracts -- by setting a more realistic, performance based pay model.

Many corporate CEOs are, in short, getting over, and it is a slap in the face of every American worker. While it is understood that executive salaries would greatly exceed that of the average worker’s, there is no logical argument to explain why the growth rate between the two is so dramatically different. To protect its workforce, corporate America must ensure worker’s salaries grow at rates that keep pace with the cost of living, while slowing the rate of growth of CEO salaries. Corporate boards must stop rewarding CEOs with multi-million dollar bonuses. It is unacceptable for a company to lay off thousands of workers and then turn around and pay an executive for a job well done.

As a country, we often ask our government to think about the needs of the average American, and rightly so. However, if America is to truly prosper, the corporations that feed our local economy must also consider and respect the well-being of average worker.

That ain't nothin' compared to
Bush's 2ND inaugural ball which cost 40 million dollars!!  Guess you forgot about that one!
Oh gosh, that was nothing compared
to watching my husband listen to any Democrat, ever.  He turns red and interrupts constantly.  Eventually I shush him and he stomps out of the room, muttering under his breath all the while.  Then he's mad at me.   At least Rush is civil.
Well, that is nothing compared to how Obama is
nm
Perspective. That is nothing compared to what we
nm
I think Palin is being compared to Obama ... sm
More than Biden because McCain is 72 years old (and looking older and more confused and befuddled each day, IMO) and to be realistic, he could very well die not long after being elected, which would immediately make Palin our president. That would be a disaster.

Not even a month ago, few people outside of Alaska had even heard of her. The country is still in the process of getting to know her which isn't happening very quickly because she's not doing any hardhitting interviews - unheard of for a politician at that level (or at least unheard of for a politician who doesn't have anything to hide...)

Come on, she's a politician, she's tough. I'm certain she's up to the interviews, but I find it suspicious that the McCain campaign isn't letting her do those interviews. They are controlling that situation, for what? They don't want her to make a mistake and look bad? They all do that!

I think a lot of people were initially attracted to her with the excitement of a fresh new face, 1st woman VP the Repubs ever nominated, and she's pretty, perky, has a beautiful family, etc. It is exciting. But as more is learned about her past and her idealogy, people I know are going "Oh wait a second, she did what, wants to do what, believes WHAT?! Oh, I don't think so!" I think that's why her poll numbers went up so fast, and have now gone back down so fast. (Actually, I think that's why she isn't doing the interviews, they wanted to keep the excitement and novelty going as long as possible.)

Me personally, I don't hate her. Hate is strong word. I just don't want her anywhere near the White House, esp. as our president.

My biggest problem with her is her extreme religious views. I will freely admit that I am very biased towards people with extreme fundamental religious beliefs. I do not understand or relate to their thinking. I am much more comfortable with people who are "brainy" and scientific, who look at facts and evidence in making their decisions, and I am extremely uncomfortable with anyone who makes decisions based on magical thinking, because they think it's "God's will" or something of that nature. There is just no reasoning with someone like that. We've already had a pres. like that (Bush) and it's been a nightmare.

IMO, people with extreme fringe religious beliefs belong on the fringe, not ruling the free world in the highest office of our land.

Actually SS is in good shape compared to
Imagine if it had gone to Wall ST like bush wanted?
Yep, being compared to me is certainly a fate worse than death....
lol. But you might want to check the posts to see what I really said and not piglet's version of what I said. I have said over and over again that my opposition to abortion is on a moral level and I would be opposed to it on that level whether I knew God or not. Unless you are saying one must believe in God to have morals?? There are many in this country who oppose abortion on a strictly moral level. There are mainstream Democrats who oppose abortion on a moral level.

Are you morally opposed to murder? Are you morally opposed to stealing? To rape? To child molestation? Do you think you have to be "religious" to oppose those things? People who have never opened a Bible are morally opposed to most of those things. So please stop trying to say that anyone who opposes abortion is a conservative religious zealot. Because it is just not true. You do not have to be religious to have morals and be morally opposed to things that are just plain wrong.

And you all know that deep inside yourselves. Most would never admit it, of course....but you all know it.

$400,000 salary is dirt cheap compared to
Considering the daunting challenges he will in the aftermath of W's slash and burn regime, bringing together warring factions for the sake of cranking up a paralyzed legislative branch, jump starting a frozen economy on the brink of depression, reversing the handywork of the saber-rattling war machine, restoring America's tarnished global image and dodging assassin's bullets around every bend, I'd say he'll be earning every last penny of it.
Oh, honey - compared to me, Maxine's an infant.

We're pussycats compared to some foreign leaders. sm
What's she going to do with them, and anyone else she can't just bully and fire?
RE: Your last line....Obama is absolutely nothing compared toTeddy R....nm

compared to the prior president anyone is a great orator

Listening to one of his speeches is a breath of fresh air compared to listening to Bush.....I'm betting O will make less speaking mistakes in his entire presidency than Bush made in any one given month during his.

Ignore the posts. This board is pretty tame compared to others. sm
On Red State and Daily Kos the ad hom attacks are unbelievable.

The previous owner of this board banned everyone posting anti Bush comments, and there were constant neocon ad hom attacks. I am conservative but these are not my type of Republicans. There used to be a lot of good posters here.
Hitler
WOW.  Im sure if I looked up google, I could find millions of posts about the real reason Hitler wanted to exterminate the jews.  I cant believe you think it is because they were communist or socialist.  Flash..Flash..The jews were not socialist or communist..albeit, I cannot speak for all, but as a people, as an ethnic group being exterminated by Hitler, it was because they controlled much in germany and instead of Hitler taking the blame for no jobs and poverty, he blamed the jews and gypsies.
Yep. Welcome the new Hitler.
The Lord is coming. BETTER BE READY. Also been getting ready for the big earthquake in my state and no, it is not California. Posted on the news and having earthquake awareness this month. Supposed to be a 9 and should last around 10 minutes with 60 feet tidal wave hitting the whole Northwest.
Hitler backer
Well, if we are gonna get into Hilter talking..George W. Bush's relatives in the past helped finance WWII for Hitler..
Hitler vs Saddam
I remember the stories as a young girl about Saddam throwing babies up in the air and shoting them as they fall. This was during Bush Sr.'s term. There is no doubt in my mind that he was tyrannical and murderous, but from what I understand the mass murderings, chemical genocide in Iraq happened in the 80's and early 90's. The threat of the Gulf War and UN sanctioning (and I know if it's failures)had pretty much tight gripped the dictator. There was no immediate humanitarian need for action in 2003 I'm aware of.

Hitler had a well publicized plan and factory like set up to eliminate the Jews. There was an immediate need to stop him.
Yep, made me think of Hitler too.

HITLER WAS A CHRISTIAN.....

The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...." The phrase "separation of church and state" which does not appear in the Constitution itself, is generally traced to an 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, where Jefferson spoke of the combined effect of Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. It has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court.

LOL Hitler...let me ammend what I said

I do believe some people would vote for satan if he ran as a Republican.

What about Adolf Hitler or any of the other
in the past?  If God allowed those, then why didn't they fulfill the prophecies?
Hitler was a Christian
Anyone, of any faith can be a threat, but it is much easier to pick on the black man and say he is a muslim to hope to get votes to your side. Makes me ill!
characteristics of Hitler.
my 2 grandmas who are in their 90's.  Better adapt to the new change coming.
*Evil* is also Hitler....(sm)
you should do a comparison between Hitler and Bush.  Just Google it.
So, was Hitler righteous then? sm

Unfortunately, the reality is that the good guys don't always win.

What? Sounds like Hitler
What is he going to do? Maybe I really do not want to know. How demanding he is. Most of you all wanted change and boy are you going to get it.
no, majority was INTIMIDATED by Hitler.

You compare Obama to Hitler but you...
are speaking all the German.  Good grief!
Sorry, I do not agree to a Hitler style
x
That congressman is comparing him to Hitler
I can't remember his name, but I saw it on Fox News. All he's doing is getting everybody in an uproar and scaring them. I think that's why people are posting this now.

Let be what is, everybody, and just have a sit-and-wait approach. It's much less stressful! :)
people praised Hitler

People praise Obama.  That's all you got?  Sticks and stones, babycakes, sticks and stones.

When Hitler did it they called it genocide...(sm)
I guess they had a good teacher.
Hitler did not prevail. Don't be stupid.
x
There is an obvious reason for using Hitler..(sm)

Hitler was the one who enacted genocide on the Jews, so you would think that they, in turn would not want others to suffer as they did....Wrong.  I don't think the Israeli government gives a rats butt about the holocaust, or anything else for that matter with the exception of domination as a nation (aka greed).  So, now that Israel is basically doing the same thing that Hitler did (they had a good teacher), in my eyes they are no better than Hitler or any other who would perform genocide, and if they are doing it in the name of God, well...that's even worse.

There are my words, and yes, I have chosen them carefully.

Just say, "Hiel Hitler," all you brownshirts.
xx
Did you just quote the Hitler Youth Handbook?!
"The sleeping giant is stirring and a youthful new leader has emerged to restore us to the greatest nation in history."

You scare me.

And I hope you weren't one of those involved in the voter fraud linked to Obama's campaign.
Majority wanted Hitler, too, moron.
nm
I will change the world???? Welcome back Hitler

We aren't hiring someone to change the world.  That's not the job of the US President.  If he can't even get that right????

I'm sure Hitler had blind faith followers - sm
I'll bet the folks who blindly followed Hitler thought he was above reproach, just like O's fanatics think he is 'the one.'

I'll bet if you said anything ill of Hitler, their young, charismatic, shining 'hope' you would have received just as much foulness as you get on this board if you say anything negative about O.

I doubt the people who fell so in love with Hitler knew, or cared to know, a whip about his true character, his true beliefs, or his true plans. Similarly, I've yet to see any eagerness on the part of O-followers to look past the bumper sticker and take a good, hard look at the man they have just stuck America with.

Of course, the latest Tom Cruise movie on the, unfortunately, unsuccessful plot to kill Hitler shows how well Germany's shining ray of hope and change played out.

You'd think the world would be too saavy to let that happen again.

Although, if you look at the world around us, it appears we never learn anything from history.
I would think with all your anti-semetic rhetoric that you would be a big fan of Hitler's!

Oh the hypocrasy!

But it was okay to portray George Bush as Hitler?
I guess because he was white. Or was it because he was a Republican?

Get a grip.
I saw the same thing with Obama, comparison to Hitler
So playing that ole race card again does no good.
