Well he's already got his own presidential seal.
He's going to have to use it somewhere, lol.
First of all, Obama did not seal his records....sm
Only the person named on the birth certificate has access to a copy of it. He got a copy and presented it, period.

Secondly, he did not seal his college records. The colleges did this. Apparently it is common practice with presidential candidates as they are flooded with requests during the campaign.
Isn't that great?! Our Navy Seal snipers took out

Office of the President Elect...

http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/obama_president_elect_/2008/11/10/149643.html

Obama Invents 'Office of the President-Elect'

Barack Obama has created a stir by proclaiming that he heads “The Office of President-Elect” — an office that does not officially exist.

At his first news conference on Nov. 7, Obama stood at a podium bearing a sign that read: “Office of the President-Elect. Also, his Web site, Change.gov, bears the words “Office of the President-Elect” at the top of its home page.

Writer Larry Anderson referred to the “made-up little title” on the American Thinker Web site, and declared: “I nearly busted a gut ...

“Once again, [Obama] can’t wait to invest himself with the trappings of office.”

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin wondered: “What other make-believe offices are they going to invent between now and Inauguration Day? I can’t ever recall in my lifetime any mention of such an office.”

Technically speaking, Obama may not even be the President-elect, according to the American Sentinel Web site.

“Megalomaniac Obama’s ego grows even more insufferable,” a weekend posting reads.

“Yes, he will be [president-elect]. But he’s not officially yet, until the Electoral College votes.

“The Constitution provides that on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December, electors convene in their respective state capitals. It’s then that they formally elect the President of the United States, based on the general election results.”

The Nov. 7 news conference did not mark the first time Obama has created controversy with a podium.

Back in June, he spoke at a podium bearing a new seal that altered the official presidential seal.

The seal did include the American bald eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch, but the Latin phrase “E Pluribus Unum” was changed to “Vero Possumus,” a rough translation of the Obama campaign slogan, “Yes we can.”

Obama’s seal also removed the shield over the eagle’s breast, representing the president’s oath to defend the Constitution, and replaced it with the letter “O,” presumably for Obama, and the image of the rising sun.

In his first day in office, President Obama

-- hit the ground running.  Just got done watching TV to see what his first day was like.  Just for fun, I looked up Bush's first day in 2001.  Here's what I found:

"On his first day in office, Bush moved to block federal aid to foreign groups that offered counseling or any other assistance to women in obtaining abortions.  Days later, he announced his commitment to channeling more federal aid to faith-based service organizations. At the time, critics feared this would dissolve the traditional separation of church and state. Bush created the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to assist faith-based service organizations. In a televised address on Aug. 9, 2001, Bush would announce a national policy on stem cell research that authorized funding and research work, with federal restrictions over the use of human embryos."

Yeah, that whack-job started whacking way at women's control over their own bodies, tried to integrate government and the church (HUGE mistake!), and to outlaw one of the most promising medical breakthroughs.  I'm surprised witch-trials and book-burning didn't come back into fashion again under his "leadership".

I think where he belongs is in some isolated, authoritarian religious cult out in the middle of nowhere.

President Obama campaign promises
I hope our new President does go to work for our jobs, meaning all American jobs, as he promised.  I did hear him make that promise, but it is not necessarily looking good at this point.  To see his offshoring comments, can be seen at www.loudobbs.com.
President Obama=bigger taxes, bigger government, and a profound change in society and culture

Obama's campaign called McCain's campaign.
This was reported an hour or two before McCain had his little news conference.  Shouldn't take to heart too much of what McCain says as he is a known liar.
Change and Hope: Obama wants your change and hopes you enjoy starving.... sm
...while he's partying like a rock star with the glitterati.

Meanwhile, some little old lady is hoping he doesn't get a dog and sends her the dog food instead.
Yes, they're all nuts. The change they'll get is not the change they thought

I want change. Chump change. I'm voting for Obama as far as the pollsters go.

Obama is change you can believe in until you have to take it to the bank.

Our jobs have been offshored until now because of greed.  Under Obama and his taxation of small businesses, they will be offshored not because of greed but because of survival.

You could make a difference for our country by not voting for Obama, but instead, if you vote for him, you are selling out to deception.  You are embracing a socialist, a communist, a Marxist, a liar, a cheat, and someone who legally cannot run as President of the U.S., much less the Illinois senate.  But, you make your choice.  You believe the consumate liar and his lies who sat for 20 years under the teachings of a black racist preacher filled with hatred for the U.S., whose association with Bill Ayers is recent and documented down to the fact that Ayers himself wrote Obama's best-selling book (best-selling in the eyes of far left liberals that is), who is a documented member of the socialist party, whose friends and close allies are extremists who not only bomb innocent people and are unrepenetent but who intend to eliminate (kill) 25 million Americans who they cannot "re-educate" in communist ideaology (gosh dog it, those dreadful capitalists), who refuses to hand over a certified copy of his birth certificate and educational records (my goodness, don't you have to provide your birth certificate to any number of entities who want to know if you are legal, i.e., social security, DMVs, etc., and your educational records would show if you had received aid as a foreigner and in 1963 would have shown you were a negro instead of an African-American which Obama's falsified record shows, please speck up on history), and who thinks Joe the Plumber is so stupid not to realize that if he wants to achieve the American dream, he is going to achieve it only if he lets Obama take what he makes to give to those WHO WILL NOT WORK.  I'd like to see you, liberals, give a share of your 7.5 cpl to those who don't work as hard as you, but then with Obama, that's what you will have to do.  Don't be fooled by his rhetoric that only those making over $250,00 will be taxed.  We will all be taxed, and there will be no incentive to work for any of us because we will all have to give up a piece of our pie so those who do not work can have a piece of our pie.

Here is the dividing line, folks.  We are at a crossroads in our history.  The Lord Jesus puts it this way, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction; and there are many who go in by it."

Choose which gate you enter, the wide or the narrow.  It not only determines your eternal destination, but it determines the destination of this country.  If anyone here calls themself a Christian and can vote for Osambo, I daresay you are a liar and cheat just as he.  One cannot be a Christian and vote for a party and a political candidate who is in total rebellion to God's Word.  That is a fact, and if you think any differently, then you, too, like the Obamanation, call God a liar.  May He have mercy upon your soul.  As He makes the rain fall on the just and the unjust because He is no respector of persons, we will all suffer as this country is destroyed and our Constitution that guarantees our freedoms is trampled just as Bill Ayers is pictured standing upon our flag in total disrespect, and we will thank you liberals that we are all in bondage, reduced to third world status, just as the Israelites were in Egypt.  Only Obama ain't no Moses but a Muslim and has no favor with God, and there will be no one to lead us to the Promised Land coming from the Democratic party.

I agree with change....change to socialism...
NO THANKS.
If customary deference to a sitting president by president elect
for the rest of us who understand such concepts as respect and traditional protocol, it would qualify as a darned good reason.
Don't take it so personal...sm
This is a debate. We will not always agree. It is perfectly normal for you to agree on one thing and be opposed on something else, especially talking with people on the opposite of your political spectrum.

Ward Churchill - see below

Would I care of someone judged me for posting an F-word, no because I apologized and it truly was a mistake, believe it or not. I'm sure no such apology will come from Ann to these widows.

What question is it that I didn't answer?

You are right, it is personal. sm
And it has consequences and I am not talking about physical ones.
cant we do without the personal

attacks?  Hippocrite.  (A hippo crossed with a hypocrite).

Has anyone here ever run for office?
Local, state, whatever. There seems to be a lot of complaining about how terrible the politicians are, but curious to know if anyone has ever run for office or actually held an elected position.

I certainly haven't.
GP, I think you should run for office
then when you get to Washington, you can clean up their act.
TL office
The office I worked in was in Houston.  TL was actually started by an MT.  I forget the name.
SOY was the one who made it personal anyway.
**This fits many on THIS board...To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.**

Maybe you missed that because you've stereotyped, judged and sentenced the liberals already.

POLITICS NOT PERSONAL
I believe you are mistaken. It is almost impossible to carry on a political discussion without getting personal. Political alignments are based on personal beliefs. And as for you trials and tribulations, she said nothing about what you've gone through in your life with the exception of, you know nothing of persecution.
stooping to personal

insults, are we now?  Did you read Wally Lamb's book "She's Come Unhinged?""  A good read.

Right back at you...without the personal hit of course..
it is obvious whose value system is skewed. You resort to name calling and personal attacks...judging one's mental health...and sorry, when you let Clinton slide on perjury you lose all credibility of if Clinton had done this you would be disgusted...while that might be personally true, you would not be on this board crucifying him. And please, don't even try to say you would not.
I have never said anything personal about Obama.
I have nothing against him. He has a beautiful family. I am sure he is sincere...the point is, I don't agree with him. I think he is the wrong man for the job. I feel strongly about that. That is why I reply.

I have never attacked him personally, made jokes nasty jokes about him, and certainly not his family. Yet i see that constantly from the other side. The extent of the hatred and nastiness on this site might not bother anyone else...but as an Independent, it puts me off the Dem party...big time, and any positives are pretty much buried in tons of mud. That seems to be the way they do politics...see it in the mainstream media, on the dailykos (referred to one poster as a place where liberals go to post opinion...have you ever read anything there??)...if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

If there are any positives, please point them out to me. I would like to see them.

I suspect what the answer would be if they answered honestly. Of course they would support him. Because he is Obama. Because he is a Democrat. The rules are different for him.

There are indeed two Americas, and that is the way they want it. THeir way or the highway. Choice for them but not for anyone else. Freedom of religion as long as you never mention it. Does that sound like America to you?
we don;t need personal attacks.

nm

No need for personal potshots....
that actually reflect worse on you than the people you ridicule.
you have a personal vendetta against her and...
You continue to post time and time again saying sam this or sam that. We all enjoy hearing sams opinions and viewpoints. She is not the bully on this site (it seems you are). She has done nothing wrong to deserve being kicked off. Maybe the moderator ought to kick you off. How would you like it.

Moderate please do NOT kick sam off this board because others don't like what she has to say. I've never found her to be insulting towards others and from my understanding this is a board where we can all share things we have heard and our opinions. We all (well most of us) love sam and the due diligence she uses to research articles and she has never been rude to others and has done nothing to deserve being denied access. I have learned a lot from her posts.

Thank you moderator if you are reading this.
personal attacks are

not allowed on this board. Stop immediately.

personal attacks are

not allowed on this board.  Stop attacking me personally with your imagining what I have or don't have in my work area.  Stick to the issues.

Why the personal attacks?

This has nothing to do with this conversation.  What this person makes and why they make that is none of our business.  The point was that she didn't live beyond her means and doesn't want a handout and that right there makes her a heck of a lot better than a lot of people.

it is a personal choice
If you make it a religious choice, it is a toss up. Most Jews believe life begins at first breath, just like when God breathed into Adam's nostril. Protestants are divided on the issue. Many mainline/reform churches take the choice stance, including PC-USA and others.

I believe it is a tough decision, but I sure as heck don't see it as murder. Since you do, you probably should not have an abortion. Since my DH had a vasectomy, I probably won't need one. But if am raped, or the vas were to fail, you can be darn sure I want to be able to make that choice.
nothing personal - it's just politics!!! nm
x
Does personal responsibility mean
get off your lazy a$$, find a job, don't expect a handout, free healthcare, free college, maybe work for a living instead of expecting those of us who have been responsible to foot your bill??
What I have is personal bitterness...(sm)

for an organization operating under the pretense of religion molesting children.  Not only did they do it, they obviously condoned it by hiding the fact.  I must be nice to be a religious -- it's such a blinding experience.  You don't have to see the world as it really is.  You can just make assumptions based on your religion.

I actually commend you on adopting children.  I do, however, wish more people would adopt children in this country.  I think it's a little bit of a double standard when one would go overseas to find a child to suit their desires and at the same time condemn this country over social issues.

And since you're waiting.....

http://www.adoptuskids.org/Child/ChildSearch.aspx

When you go to this page, don't change the criteria under *child profile* to look for the perfect child, just go to the bottom of the page and hit *search.*  I came up with 3466 children waiting for a home -- and that's just out of one agency.

how was that a personal attack?
telling you you aren't better than everyone? At least I'm not callng people mentally challenged. yes i know that wasn't you, you are the friend that just laughs along with the bully...

and if you wanna point fingers about me not responding the way you think I should have, i dont see you responding to the person giving their opinion on what trickle up means...

give it a rest it's freaking Christmas time
you obviously HAVE to have the last word so i'll let you have it. pretty pathetic that you spend your time trying to cut other people down... is that also a personal attack?
Right on! Why take personal responsibility for
nm
If you are answering to me, my personal
beliefs are strongly Christian, but I am a Christian who also believes wholeheartedly in the separation between church and state, FYI.  I was answering the person who is scared.  Christians should not be afraid of anything, if they truly believe that God is in control.  Just my opinion.
My personal feelings aside,,,
the three branches of government were meant to be equal. It was never intended for the judicial branch to be able to "overrule" the legislative branch or the voters whenever they felt that it was appropriate. It is abuse of what was meant to be a check and balance, but who checks the courts. It would appear that they have worked themselves into the final say and that is really unfortunate.
My personal opinion
FWIW, by definition civil is: "of or relating to or befitting citizens as individuals" and "of or occurring within the state or between or among citizens of the state" (per wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn), which to me is the one the government should sanction, be it gay or straight, and thereby entitle one to the legal and financial 'benefits'. Marriage, on the other hand, in my opinion could/should then be viewed as more a religious construct.
lying in office
It was a personal matter between he and his wife and Monica.  He only lied when the govt tried to pry into his private life.  It had nothing to do with national security, and since he was impeached for lying, Im just waiting for Bush to get impeached or Rove to be fired for lying about giving out the name of Valerie Plame to reporters to out her.  If there is gonna be a standard about lying while in office, it should work for this administration too.  One saving grace on that, the prosecutor, Fitzgerald, seems like a tough guy who does not take sides but finds out the truth.
Hope this guy never wants to run for office..

you know what they do to people who return their medals...those commie pinkos !!!!

A Veteran’s Letter to the President:
“I Return Enclosed the Symbols of My Years of Service”

by Joseph DuRocher

President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, D.C. 20500

Dear Mr. President:

As a young man I was honored to serve our nation as a commissioned officer and helicopter pilot in the

U. S. Navy. Before me in WWII, my father defended the country spending two years in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Hornet (CV-14). We were patriots sworn “to protect and defend”. Today I conclude that you have dishonored our service and the Constitution and principles of our oath. My dad was buried with full military honors so I cannot act for him. But for myself, I return enclosed the symbols of my years of service: the shoulder boards of my rank and my Naval Aviator’s wings.

Until your administration, I believed it was inconceivable that the United States would ever initiate an aggressive and preemptive war against a country that posed no threat to us. Until your administration, I thought it was impossible for our nation to take hundreds of persons into custody without provable charges of any kind, and to “disappear” them into holes like Gitmo, Abu Ghraib and Bagram. Until your administration, in my wildest legal fantasy I could not imagine a U.S. Attorney General seeking to justify torture or a President first stating his intent to veto an anti-torture law, and then adding a “signing statement” that he intends to ignore such law as he sees fit. I do not want these things done in my name.

As a citizen, a patriot, a parent and grandparent, a lawyer and law teacher I am left with such a feeling of loss and helplessness. I think of myself as a good American and I ask myself what can I do when I see the face of evil? Illegal and immoral war, torture and confinement for life without trial have never been part of our Constitutional tradition. But my vote has become meaningless because I live in a safe district drawn by your political party. My congressman is unresponsive to my concerns because his time is filled with lobbyists’ largess. Protests are limited to your “free speech zones”, out of sight of the parade. Even speaking openly is to risk being labeled un-American, pro-terrorist or anti-troops. And I am a disciplined pacifist, so any violent act is out of the question.

Nevertheless, to remain silent is to let you think I approve or support your actions. I do not. So, I am saddened to give up my wings and bars. They were hard won and my parents and wife were as proud as I was when I earned them over forty years ago. But I hate the torture and death you have caused more than I value their symbolism. Giving them up makes me cry for my beloved country.

Joseph W. DuRocher

Joseph DuRocher was for 20 years the elected Public Defender of Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit, covering Orange and Osceola counties. Since retirement, he’s been writing and teaching law at the University of Central Florida and the Barry University School of Law. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy in the 1960s, serving as a Naval Aviator in the Atlantic, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. On Monday, Mr. DuRocher returned his Lieutenant’s shoulder bars and Navy wings to President Bush, and enclosed the following letter. Mr. DuRocher can be reached at: PDJWD@aol.com.

Every second he was in office he was investigated. sm
I do not know how the man stood it. Arizona even introduced a bill to succeed because of constitutional complaints concerning Clinton, HRC 2034. Where is that bill now? No president has trashed the constitution like Bush.
I know MTs that have become office managers
x
If the 'pubs end up in office again, all I can say is

Maybe he should run for some other government office.

They are in office for the last 8 years right?
and all yall voted for Bush right?
What about her office redecoration...sm
with city funds????

From the Huffington Post 9/17:

"Sarah Palin has been touting herself as fiscal watchdog throughout her political career. But Palin's tenure as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, was characterized by waste, cronyism and incompetence, according to government officials in the Matanuska Valley, where she began her fairy-tale political rise.

"Executive abilities? She doesn't have any," said former Wasilla City Council member Nick Carney, who selected and groomed Palin for her first political race in 1992 and served with her after her election to the City Council.

Four years later, the ambitious Palin won the Wasilla mayor's office -- after scorching the "tax and spend mentality" of her incumbent opponent. But Carney, Palin's estranged former mentor, and others in city hall were astounded when they found out about a lavish expenditure of Palin's own after her 1996 election. According to Carney, the newly elected mayor spent more than $50,000 in city funds to redecorate her office, without the council's authorization."

and from David Talbot at salon.com:

If McCain is in office, we most definitely WILL

Yes. He will be voted into office and be
He is a fine AMERICAN citizen who has dedicated his life to public service, has run a brilliant campaign, won over a "commanding" lead in the polls and will be making history in just 48 short hours or so.
8 years in office? sm
Pretty sure of yourself, aren't you, GP?
My husband just came into my office...sm
He was just watching Bill O'Reilly, and my husband said the most interesting things.

Ann Coulter is a humorist, not a politician. She says outrageous things, and sometimes they're funny (sometimes not, I guess). It's how she sells her books.

And I guess Bill and Ann don't like each other much.

The things she says offends those that are center right, and she really offended Bill O'Reilly. Bill thinks she gives conservatives a bad name, and part of that seems to be true.

But I have to agree with him. She can be very offensive in the way she talks and writes. Even though a lot of what she writes about may be true, she's not very nice about it.

No wonder she offends people.
