fear is an emotional response
based on perceived danger. Trying to "reason" with fear or fight emotion with "facts" is fruitless. The dems have millions of new voters registered, we are not overly concerned about losing a few votes from those ruled by emotion rather than reason. That's what democracy is all about. Vote or not vote based on any whatever floats your boat.

His very first post here was full of name calling. In fact, I called him on it. You can't really expect too much after that, though, as I said before I 'm shying away from this debate because of mixed feelings.

Have you ever been pregnant and seen your baby on ultrasound? Have you seen him or her breathe the amntiotic fluid? Watched him or her suck their thumb? Or felt hiccups? How about kick and roll?

before you've missed a period! you totally contradicted yourself. i never said at the instant of sex you're pregnant. I said the heart is beating before "MOST" women know they are pregnant, and you JUST VALIDATED MY POINT!!! even going as far as to say they are developing at week 4! (which is when women miss their periods) you do know how this works don't you?

I don't know ANY mother who would get up one day and say, "Gee, I would love to LET my daughter get pregnant". What do you think she should do, handcuff herself to her daughter and follow her around all day and night? Give me a break!!! There are mothers who are home all day with their daughters and they get pregnant. Who you wanna blame now!!!!
Her daughter getting pregnant does not imply sexual abuse at all....I see two hormone driven teenagers. Lets not get so carried away that just because a teenage girl gets pregnant you jump on that stupid bandwagon of believing she was abuse. I feel pretty confident in saying she was probably a willing participant....now they both have to deal with the consequences just like others from the beginning of time......

More pregnant women should be informed of this.
When I had my son, we donated his cord blood and it was all done for free. When I had my daughter four years later (and at a different hospital), we were told that we could store the cord blood, but not donate, and of course, storing means paying (way too much), so we didn't do it then. I probably should have done more checking around to see where we could have donated.
That one, I'm all for - if they could use that to find a cure for or treat cancer, MD, or anything else, imagine how fabulous that would be!!!

That is a possibility. The daughter might have tried to hide it until she started showing. I don't know the circumstances around Palin and don't pretend to know, but I knew of girls in high school with me who hid it from their parents well into their 5th or 6th month. Not until they started showing did they tell.
