If I come in with alcoholism, I'm treated by a physician.  That physician might not believe in it, but he treats me.


I come in with an STD because I sell my body.  That physician doesn't believe in prostitution, but he still treats me. 


I come in for an abortion.  That physician doesn't believe in abortion, but he treats me. 


I transcribe reports all day on people that I think should be helping themselves - it goes with the territory, i.e., lap band patients, drug users, etc.  They get treatment (most of the time free of charge).  How can a physician say to a patient that has an unborn fetus that is deformed and could kill that patient during delivery "I won't do it."  How????  Is that ethical?
