Although this isn't Iran or any other country, see this article.I seriously didn't think that was part of their justice system anymore. You rarely hear about it anymore.
"MOGADISHU, Somalia — A court run by an extremist Islamic group sentenced four Somali men on Monday to each have a hand and a leg cut off for allegedly stealing mobile phones and guns. The ruling prompted an outcry from human rights activists.
The court that handed down the sentence in Somalia's capital is run by al-Shabab, one of the nation's most powerful insurgent groups. The U.S. considers al-Shabab a terrorist group with links to AL Qaeda, which al-Shabab denies. The group, which controls much of Somalia, is trying to drive out the government and install a strict form of Islam.
"We have convicted them of theft, so they deserve to have their arms and legs amputated," said Sheik Abdul Haq, the al-Shabab judge in the capital, Mogadishu.
Al-Shabab has carried out amputations and other punishments elsewhere in Somalia, but they are rare in the capital."

The *Islamic threat* grew over the past 50 years of our foreign policy. This did not happen just because as Bush says, they are jealous of our freedom. OMG, their ideology and ours are totally different and frankly, I dont think we will ever get a functioning democracy set up in the Middle East. Instead of doing what Blair is doing now, setting up meetings with Islamic organizations to try to defuse the situation, we went head strong into Iraq..Oh, we are America, we are gonna kick butt, and what happened, we are now fighting a world wide terrorist war with it's breeding ground Iraq and to a minimum Afghanistan. This was such an error in judgment and we will pay for it for decades to come. Bush and his administration dont have to worry. If we get attacked, they have bunkers, they have secret service that will be with them even after the term ends. It is us, who ride the subways, rail roads, buses, shop at the malls..we are the ones..the poor slobs on the farms, who are fighting Bush's war and will die in terrorist attacks. Thank you, Bush!
You don't know much about the Islamic crusades
For your enlightenment, and if taught in schools, you would know that Muslims lauched their OWN crusades OUTSIDE of Arabia two years after Muhammed's death.... this was their "holy war" or "jihad"
Muslims and you no doubt have forgotten that Muslims launched crusades several CENTURIES before the Europeans launched theirs as a defense AGAINST Islamic expansion....
Funny how all those folks you get your info from conveniently forgot to inform you of the truth for the crusades from the Europeans!!
They were protecting themselves, much like the United States should be doing!

Islamic influence in prisons is not a new
This has been going on for quite some time. Unfortunately, what is taught in prison isn't "mainstream" Islam, but a corruption of it that really amounts to nothing more than criminal enterprise cloaked in the guise of religious activity. As such, the hands of prison officials are basically tied when it comes to trying to stop it because they would be interfering with a prisoner's "religious freedoms".
