and I'll suffix that by saying that I don't think Clinton's was either. I know that's a surprise to What you all fail to see beyond is politics to the real of heart of the issue. I personally think politics is what is killing this country, because people of all political backgrounds seldom get past their feelings on anything to do anything of real good. I respect Bush, because he doesn't react to all the junk being thrown at him, because he sees it for what it is and that's just junk. Is Bush perfect, no, not by far, but he's not the raging ogre you all paint him to be and definitely not the fault of EVERYTHING going on the world.

The economy is growing---fact is fact. Since the country's inception there have been communities that have faired better than others. The poor will always be among us. Not that we write them off and say whew, I'm glad that's not me, but the government cannot take care of everybody.

What is lacking in this country is motivation. We have been taken care of far too well, and now we sit back and EXPECT...NO DEMAND that our every little desire be met.

Given your description it would seem that South Florida is evolving into Cuba, but I'm sure that's not the case. My very small hometown three years ago lost the three major factories where most of the citizens worked. These all closed in a span of eight months. Everybody was like that's it. This town is going to die. Yep, for about a year and a half unemployment hovered around ten perecent, but some miraculous happened. After two years the employment level was down to 7 perecent, and now it's 4.5% (which means just about everybody who wants to work is working). You know what happened. Many took advantage of the leg-up program from the government to help them pay to go to college and learn a trade. Many started their own businesses. It was so funny, because for those two years you would hear 30 to 60 year olds on the street telling each other they had to go cram for exams. Now, talking to most of the people laid off from their jobs three years ago they have new lease on life. They are no longer slaves to union whims, and they are doing better than they did before. So, don't tell me that these poor people working in the janitorial service at six bucks an hour don't have a choice. They do, and they don't need the college students to protest on their behalf. They need to go to college themselves and/or find something better. It's out there if you try. Opportunity has not let America.
