What you are speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you are saying McCain

I could never vote for this kind of person "my friends" - no one is perfect and especially politicians, but there is a limit to what I am going to believe.

From U.S. Veteran Dispatch

McCain's Divorce
Before John McCain's tour of duty in Vietnam, he married Carol Shepp, a model from Philadelphia. On his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam in 1967, McCain was shot down and captured.
While he was imprisoned, Carol was in an auto wreck (1969), thrown through her car's windshield and left seriously injured. Despite her injures, she refused to allow her POW husband to be notified about her condition, fearing that such news would not be good for him while he was being held prisoner.

When McCain returned to the United States in 1973 after more than five years as a prisoner of war, he found his wife was a different person. The accident "left her 4 inches shorter and on crutches, and she had gained a good deal of weight."

Yearning to make the grade of admiral, McCain enrolled in the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. and underwent physical therapy in order to fly again. The Navy excused his permanent disabilities and reinstated him to flight status, effectively positioning him for promotion.

In his book, The Nightingale's Song, Robert Timberg chronicled McCain's post-Vietnam military assignments and some of his "adulterous" behavior leading to his divorce from Carol and marriage to Cindy Hensley.

Timberg wrote, "in the fall of 1974, McCain was transferred to Jacksonville as the executive officer of Replacement Air Group 174, the long-sought flying billet at last a reality. A few months later, he assumed command of the RAG, which trained pilots and crews for carrier deployments. The assignment was controversial, some calling it favoritism, a sop to the famous son of a famous father and grandfather [both were Navy admirals], since he had not first commanded a squadron, the usual career path."

While Executive Officer and later as Squadron Commander McCain used his authority to arrange frequent flights that allowed him to carouse with subordinates and "engage in extra-marital affairs." Such behavior was a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice rules against adultery and fraternization with subordinates..

Timberg wrote, "Off duty, usually on routine cross-country flights to Yuma and El Centro, John started carousing and running around with women. To make matters worse, some of the women with whom he was linked by rumor were subordinates . . . At the time the rumors were so widespread that, true or not, they became part of McCain's persona, impossible not to take note of."

In 1979 at a military reception in Honolulu, McCain met Cindy Hensley, an attractive 25-year-old woman from a very wealthy politically-connected Arizona family. Cindy's father, Jim, founded the Hensley and Company, the nation's third-largest Anheuser-Busch distributor.

McCain described their first meeting, "She was lovely, intelligent and charming, 17 years my junior but poised and confident. I monopolized her attention the entire time, taking care to prevent anyone else from intruding on our conversation. When it came time to leave the party, I persuaded her to join me for drinks at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. By the evening's end, I was in love."

While still married to Carol, McCain began an adulterous relationship with Cindy. He married Cindy in May 1980 -- just a month after dumping Carol and securing a divorce. The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii.

McCain followed his young, millionairess wife back to Arizona where her father helped catapult McCain into politics,

Today, Cindy Hensley McCain is chairwoman of Hensley's board of directors. Hensley and Company financial reports show assets worth a minimum of $28 million for the McCains..............As he says.....character counts.......

Let our leaders hear us loud and clear
Reading all the posts it seems like everyone agrees on the same thing.  None of us likes either candidate.  What I'm reading a lot of is "I'm democrat so I'm voting democrat no matter what" or "I'm republican so I'm voting republican no matter what".  The country has developed over the years into believing our vote counts.  Whether you want to believe it or not, it doesn't.  The country has been run not by who the people want elected but by big government and big corporations.  People who have thousands and thousands of dollars to spend (if not millions) donate that money to ensure who they want to be elected is elected.  Also, do some research on the "mysterious group" that meets each year yet the public is not allowed to be in those meetings and there are armed guards enforcing that.  Those are the people who decide the fate of the country.  Just the way it is and I accepted it a long time ago.  If Americans truly did have a say in what goes on with our politicians we would see more and more of them fired, but they aren't.  They still remain in office.  I say let our leaders hear us loud and clear.  We are against both candidates.  If voting dropped or nobody went to vote I think they'd get the message loud and clear that we are disatisfied.
McCain's low profile on this speaks volumes.
nm
What part of we are waiting to hear about MCCAIN'S
If he and his supporters cannot even acknowledge the #1 election issue and answer a simple question directly and in a sraightforward fashion without throwing fits of hatred, how is it that they expect to win in November?
Glad to hear you are voting for McCain!
I was referring to the fact that Obama supporters cannot accept the truth of his policies, they just want to ignore them and argue. Ignore the message and beat up the messenger. The issue is not about how the OP paid her employees, it is how Obama's economic plan is going to change her business.
I knew it was a matter of time before we would hear from a McCain supporter
I guess you must figure if you use his middle name enough times people are going to think what? That he's Saddam reincarnated? You really do not give America enough credit to know a name does not make a person who they are, the goodness they do and what they believe in make them a good person. So...when you post about John McCain do you write John Sydney McCain? And do you write Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton? No. You don't even know what Hussein means. Here's a bit of background of the origin of his name. Barack means "To bless" and Hussein means "to be good". Both are beautiful names. I know exactly what you are trying to do. You believe that if you say his name enough times in full people will think of Saddam Hussain. But there are many more good people with the name. For instance...King Hussein of Jordan. The person who wrote the Kite Runner is Khaled Hossain and many more. In fact there are more good people named Hussein than are bad.
Hussein is a very common name in Bangladesh just like Smith or Jones. His middle name honors his grandfather. In case you don't realize this, he was born in America and raised in a Christian home, went to christian churches. To incite feelings of "fear" because his middle name is Hussein? Well just shows what kind of person you are.
Also, you didn't show the good things he has done working in government. And the stuff you did write I don't think a lot of people know what all this means. I read it and its just mumbo jumbo. If you want to talk about bad records and bad things people have done while in government, lets post about Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton. There's enough reading material to last a lifetime.
Oh, I red you loud and clear

and "red" was not a spelling error.   Strong arming anyone into producing anything for the government is  like pre and post WWII Soviet Union....you got it right when you said red and I'm not referring red state conservatives either.

Many (not all)  think you have all the answers, but when it turns to action you are ready to guilt and strong arm SOMEONE ELSE to do the work.

Oh for sobbing out loud!!!!
If you don't want to read posts about God in politics then just simply don't read them for Mike's (Pete's brother) sake!
For crying out loud!

it's a FAMILY.  There are two little girls who were promised a puppy a long time ago by their parents -- win or lose -- after the election to reward them for tolerating the rigors of the campaign for such a long time.

One of the daughters is allergic, so that limits the breeds from which they can choose, and he said their first preference was to get a shelter dog, "a mutt like me," but because of the allergy, they might not be able to do that.

They're a normal family, and I think they're a beautiful family.  Why would any other family in the United States give a pet to their children?  Hopefully, the puppy's personality will match President-Elect Obama's and be even tempered and friendly, as opposed to the current White House canine that, unfortunately, reflects its owner's personality and bit a reporter the other day.

I personally believe this man has the capacity to be the best President in United States history.  All he needs is a chance, but when people get so petty as to criticize his decision to give his daughters a PUPPY, then it's clear that some people simply won't ever give him a chance, and that's so, so sad.

Loud, snotty people often do. Hopefully O. will

sPEAK THE NAME OF JESUS OUT LOUD
Amen, I agree with you.
Oh for crying out loud on a crutch!!!!
One can't win for losing!  I've already said I'm a hillbilly, born and bred, so if you think I'm ridiculing anyone then consider I am ridiculing myself!!!!  Get over being so hung-up on Sara Palin, will ya??  Not everything revolves around her.
What a great example. You got me cackling out loud.
x
Oh for crying out loud on a crutch!
I am NOT a Democrat.  I am capable of independent thinking for myself thank you very much.
The vindictive, mean part came thru loud & clear when she
That smugness reflects the repub's view of themselves, that they are better than everyone else. Gets kinda old, after just an hour or two. After 8 years it's downright repugnant. No wonder the rest of the world hates us.
Oh for crying out loud on a cripple's crutch!!!!
Can you not READ?  Did I not post the issues......whatever they're called.... along with the date of the vote?  Check it out for yourself.  The voting record is good enough for me but you rabid pubs wouldn't believe anything against John McCain if God Himself came down and wrote it on the end of your nose.
Oh for crying out loud on a cripple's crutch!!!!
lighten up.  I would never make light of Jesus and I take hearty exception to your even suggesting such a thing.  I do believe I was replying to someone who (I hope) posted a tongue-in-cheek statement that I might be the next messiah.  I am IMPRESSED BY NO ONE.
It is definitely jealousy coming thru LOUD AND CLEAR
--
For crying out loud. His target group IS workers
are so low that they come up not owing tax at the end of the year, then it would not be possible to give them a tax cut or a tax credit, unless it is a refundable tax credit. So far, you have not provided any evidence that Obama is proposing a REFUNDABLE tax credit. As a matter of fact, why do you supposed he call this tax credit "Making WORK pay." The credit will zero out at zero tax liability unless it is a refundable tax credit. Again, it seems like you cannot produce any evidence that this is the case. Or can you? What about the socialist question with regard to progressive tax reform proposals only being socialist at Obama's hands, an no other president in history since 1913, including the 7 republicans who raise the top income bracket rates to as high as 63% to 94%, as opposed to Obama, whose intent is to restore that rate back to 39.6% as it was in 2000 when Bush took office?
Hot Air..........name speaks for itself
Yes, all Americans who cannot tolerate 4 more years of the same are terrified by this candidate who puts her religion above the needs of our country........and rightly so
History speaks for itself. sm
You are simply ignorant of it and I said it was ONE of the reasons, not the only reason.  Still trying to twist my words and worm out that you don't know history at all!  Do you EVER watch the History Channel?  Read historical books, not just college course books.  I am through talking to you.  People who can't even admit they are wrong and try to put the onus on someone else aren't worth talking to.  Besides, you are so filled with hatred, I am surprised you didn't say how ugly Bush's daughters are just to throw that in just one more time.
Record speaks for itself.
Been there, done that, and agree with OP - Cons have been grossly hypocritical about demanding dissenters leave their board, then sneaking over here to post nasty comments.
A vet speaks out about Bush

The Rant
A vet speaks out about Bush
By DOUG THOMPSON
Dec 30, 2005, 06:34

Tim Abbott is a Vietnam veteran who lives in the Southwestern Virginia town of Hillsville, a conservative, blue-collar community that tends to vote Republican and bleed red, white and blue.

But, like an increasing number of veterans, Abbott is fed up with President George W. Bush.

“Bush talks a lot about freedom, courage, transparent government and the rule of law. He talks,” Abbott says. “His speeches are carefully choreographed before audiences of his faithful -- often Christian fundamentalists or, to paraphrase Bush, Christian-fascists -- and they must sign loyalty oaths to Bush. He speaks before audience after audience of soldiers and sailors who cannot speak except as directed by the White House.”

Normally, such comments would be risky in a mountain town where Patriotism rules supreme but Abbott expressed his views this week in an op ed article for The Roanoke Times and found many people agreeing with him.

“When I think of Bush, I do not think of liberty and courage, compassion and justice. No, I think of arrogance, greed and lies,” Abbott wrote. “He is a thug, a buffoon and a coward. Not only is he incompetent, he is corrupt.”

In normal times, these would be fighting words and Abbott would do well to avoid lunch at the Hillsville Diner, the Main Street eatery where the locals gather to discuss politics. But George W. Bush’s times are not normal times and Abbott is greeted warmly on the streets of Hillsville.

“In his Mission Accomplished foray, (Bush) wore a military uniform, something no president has done since Washington, and Washington only wore the uniform to quell a rebellion,” Abbott says. “Around the world he has replaced the Soviet Gulag with the Bush Gulag, where men may be tortured.”

Abbott’s comments come when this web site revealed that the Pentagon has ordered soldiers home from Iraq for holiday leave to give pro-war interviews to their hometown newspapers and television station. This does not surprise a veteran who learned about military duplicity in Vietnam.

“Others before whom he speaks may ask no questions. He runs from journalists, as we have seen in China, even on those rare occasions that he speaks before them,” Abbott says of Bush. “Even worse, he has paid journalists to say good things about him and his policies. He also produces propaganda from government offices that he offers as news reports. And any protests against his policies are diverted well away from his sight and hearing.”

In recent weeks, I’ve spoken with dozens of vets of Vietnam, Desert Storm and the present invasion of Iraq and most speak with anger towards Bush and his policies.

Soldiers serve under a code of honor, something they say Bush lacks.

“Bush is of a kind with the dictators; a strutting, sanctimonious buffoon who talks democracy but acts like Saddam Hussein,” Abbott says. “Bush might differ in degree from Hussein, not having been in power as long, but in behavior, with torture and the corruption of government, they are of a kind.

“While al-Qaida is an enemy of the values and principles of the United States and Western civilization and must be confronted, it can do no more than kill people and destroy property.

“Bush can subvert our principles and institutions. He is the greater enemy.”

actually what you name your children speaks
What about the lady that named her daughter Emer Gency because that's the sign she saw going into the hospital? Sure this may be folklore but if you are an MT you know like I do people make really poor choices when it comes to naming thier kids and I would never elect one of those braniacs VP!!!
Geez. Well this speaks for itself. nm
nm
No one said he speaks for all the Jews
don't ass-u-me.

It's funny, you say you get Christianity "shoved" down your throat everywhere, but everywhere I go I get sex, violence, and other "worldly" things that I find disgraceful shoved down mine. I'm expected to sit by and just accept all that without saying anything, but you (and others who think your way) should be allowed to say that we have to get out of everything but our homes and churches? Do you not see the double standard? Those of us who want to live the Christian life can't even go into the mall without seeing sex ads and innuendos about cheating, and lately I can't walk through a store without hearing someone using filthy language left and right. But I should just put up with it, right?
That is good. I look forward to seeing how she speaks and...sm
how knowledgable she is when answering unscripted questions or delivering a speech.
Your ignorance speaks for itself. Can;t stoop low enough
su
The Bible speaks of all this but seeing it happen
@
I most certainly do not turn off the TV every time he speaks
I listen carefully to every word he says, same as I do Obama.  Thus far all I have heard from McCain is that "that one" is lying about.  I would PREFER to hear what he proposes.  I am perfectly capable of listening to Obama and deciding for myself without McCain's ( or Palin's) input.
The lack of one pretty much speaks for itself...
nm
Here's the audio...........speaks volumes!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5p3OB6roAg
Hear, hear! He is an exceptional person for an ....sm
exceptionable time. They say that God is watching us from a distance and I believe that is true. I think that Obama has a good pure heart, extraordinary intelligence, does truly want to improve our lives, and my prayers are with him. How about that he has Bobby Kennedy's desk (my hero).
well dubya speaks like a child and he scares the
is what counts and clearly Dubya is lacking in that department and Obama is not.
The bimb* comment speaks volumes....
tell me....why would you vote in the same party who are to blame for this financial crisis through horrible, self-serving decision making?

That frightens me more than this answer.
This little blurb speaks volumes about Obama (sm)
Indeed, if Obama had had his way, all American combat troops would have been withdrawn from Iraq by March 2008, which would have led to civil war and genocide; an unprecedented victory for al-Qaeda and Islamic jihadists; and a boon to Iran.

This speaks volumes about the character of the man who would be president

Saying you "ain't" a republican speaks volumes.
:p
Frankly, don't we all cringe when the other party speaks?

But that's because we anticipate the content is not going to be what we want to hear.

Bush's speeches made me cringe for other reasons - like I was embarrassed we had such an obvious moron as a leader, and the rest of the world could appreciate our sterling judgement.  We might as well posted a billboard that says - we elected the stupidest guy we could get so the powers behind the throne will have an easy time of it.  Nothing fake about HIM - he was sincerely, honestly stupid, and proud of it.

Your ignorance speaks volumes.......I have read it
maybe you just failed reading comprehension in general!!!
I would say that the lack of his demise being plastered all over the news speaks s/m
quite well for his health.
The pubs inability to nominate an honest VP SPEAKS VOLUMES!
And to top it off, she was stupider than Bush! Hahahahahahahaha!
Hear ye, hear ye. We don't want to be scared.
nm
Why are you McCain people so desperate? You are just like McCain. No plan. Just criticism of the
other candidate.  I guess you want the same old thing we have had for the past 8 years.  God forbid McCain win with that wild woman, Palin.
Do you hear yourself?
You drive even other Democrats off this board.  There hasn't been logical debate here in weeks.  You have no idea how you appear on the conservative board. Like a bunch of grade schoolers.  They have stayed away from the most part from here, but you have not afforded them the same courtesy.  And yet you think YOU have taken the higher ground.  It's just amazing your lack of insight into your own behavior.  Just as you were accused, so was I.  By one of YOU.  Unbelieveable.
My God, do you hear yourself? NM

You won't hear that in the MSM!
Thanks for posting the article!
So what I hear you saying is...

...that you're terribly proud of youself because when you beat up on people and they bite back at you that you don't whine about it?  And also that you beat up on the libs because of their feelings about the troops and the war.  Seems like you lash out indiscriminately on this board without really knowing what most folks believe.

And you are deceitful in saying I saw someone on the conservative board being wished to die and burn in hell once.  ACtually I wrote the post you refer to and that is NOT what I wrote.  Do you recall the game folks play at parties where a story is whispered in the ear of one person after another and then the story is read as it started out and then read as it ended up?  And then everyone marvels over how much it changed?  Well, that's what has happened here.  So you are lying when you provide a quote of that post as the truth.

I did not hear this but it was probably said
in reference to global warming, not Bush, causing more numerous and more severe hurricanes. The water in the Gulf of Mexico is right now around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmth of the water is what restrengthed the hurricane.
I hear ya.

Reading your post, I think you'd be shocked if you realized how close you came to describing MY life!

Do you hear yourself?
Talk about talking points...you were firing them like crazy yesterday. And again...the moderator has said over and over and over again anyone who wants to post on either board can. I guess at least the moderator still believes in free speech, even if liberals do not. Liberals, who profess to be tolerant, are the most INtolerant group I have ever seen (at least most of the ones who come here). You ask a question, counter a point, ask them to defend a belief, and they go nuts. At least you finally put the truth into words...separate. I guess that is what liberals want. Well, my friend, I have news for you. This is America. COnservatives have just as much right to be here as liberals. If you are firm in your beliefs, you should have no problem debating. There is 1 who posts here who still believes that conservatives have the same rights liberals do, and is able to look past idealistic rhetoric to get to the real truth of things. Extremely refreshing. As to bothered...you do not bother me at all. You have every right to say what you want to say....but you should not expect it to go unchallenged.

That is another thing I do not understand about liberals...and why live and let live rings hollow. What you really mean is....we live over here on this board and we let you live over there on that board and don't you DARE to come over to this board because we don't want you to live over here.

That is the definition of intolerant...segregation.
