Again, that wasn't the point.
?
no that wasn't my point
my point was just my point, which is why i used his whole name

I like Obama, I just don't agree with him on everything.
That wasn't my point......... sm
My point was, simple and straightforward, that not all people who voted for Obama still support him. Apparently, this particular mother did not like what she heard, thus her wish that she had not voted for him. Hence, my statement that the OP was in error in believing that ALL people who supported Obama still support him.

Folks are allowed to change their minds, aren't they?

My point wasn't that anyone used drugs or whatever.
My point was that Rush doesn't put himself out there as the Messiah or the ultimate authority anymore than Glen Beck or Sean Hannity, or for that matter anyone on the liberal news channels. Rush gets more attention because to conservatives, he's telling the truth - he told the truth when Bush started making mistakes, too, and was not a big supporter of McCain when he ran for president.

This is about policy and spending money we just don't have - how are we ever going to pay it all back? No one has that answer - we just keep spending and spending. I don't think it's right and I know many conservatives don't think it's right and if that happens to jive with what Rush is saying, then I agree with him, too. But I certainly don't look to him as a moral majority and don't know many people who do - I think that's just a misconception, like Obama being the dems Messiah. I know several liberal dems and they look at him as their president, not their savior. That was really the point I was trying to make about Rush.
McCain wasn't desperate and wasn't behind in the polls
In fact, they have been neck and and neck, and McCain has been gaining in the polls while Obama has been slipping. McCain could have taken the easy way and kept the stable course and picked safer, sure. Instead, he picked a maverick leader like himself, who isn't afraid to get in there and make changes even if it goes against their own party. I believe he wanted to say that the Republicans are the party for change, and wanted to make a bold statement. I've seen statements at "other sites" as well where people are absolutely joyous at this pick.
Was that a racial remark!!!!!
!
Such an intelligent remark from

nm

Boy, is that a laughable remark, *the
Fox News! And you claim to be unbiased! You knew you were never unbiased. Even the *regular news* have now admitted they were in favor of Obama during the campaign, as if it was not evident!
Is that why YOU remark on everyone's post?
nm
Did you see Hilton's remark about
No wonder people think she may have lost her crown. Hilton wanted called her a Bi***, but he really wanted to say the "C" word. His video was shown on CNN. This guy needs to go. Who are the idiots who wanted Hilton for a judge anyway? THERE ARE JERKS!!!!
What an asinine remark..........
You have been obviously fed such asinine statements and propaganda by those around you that you were NEVER taught that Martin Luther King WAS A REPUBLICAN!!! Now, pick your mouth up off the floor and get over your racism crap. MLK knew all along what the true agenda of democrats have been all along and that was to keep them from EVER having civil rights... one document after another proves that.

You need to get your head out of a hole and do your homework!! MLK would be ashamed of the democrats.... he was never for any of this garbage they are dumping on the American people. He would know exactly who would pay the price and why....he was FOR freedom, which is why he stood with the Republican party!! CLUELESS!!
I take back the whining remark. sm
I will replace it with pitiful.
black prez remark

My, how classy.  That so-called retardate graduated Yale & Harvard.  Now who's retarded?  Bill Clinton is plenty of things, too, but stupid, retarded, etc. are things that I've never heard a conservative say...ever.

I'll let Chris Rock lie in the gutter with his money and his filthy mouth.

Class always speaks for itself.

There you go - another disgusting liberal remark
especially when this post wasn't directed towards you. You really need to keep your negative, nasty, cruel and disgusting remarks to yourself. Nobody is interested in your puney little snide remarks.
Here is a poignant remark by a black man...

What This Democratic Primary Has Taught Me...

Hillary is a conservative democrat.

McCain is a moderate republican.

Obama is a liberal socialist that will keep my race, blacks, looking for a means to become whole citizens, never finding a way and eventually becoming as content as before him in their victimhood.

Settle down - I was just poking fun at your remark.
Chill, chick. Seriously.

I was just commiserating with you and your 'names I've been called' remark. I don't take anything personally on this board. Why would I? And why would you?

You do realize what "LOL" means, right?

I don't know why you flew off the handle like that.

Maybe you need to take a few minutes away from the MB to just go out and enjoy life and get a little perspective.
I was a little surprised at the "snotsdale" remark
since I live in Arizona.  I don't live in Scottsdale but have been there.  Nice town with nice residents.  Great shopping and restaurants too.
Thank you for your intelligent, logical remark...par for the course
x
Whether or not we are personally offended by his remark,

I think most can agree that it falls under that old catch-all phrase 'poor judgment.'   I think much of his first 60 days has fit that category, I'm anticipating many more examples of it in the next four years.  This is what happens when the man wanders too far from TelePrompTer and handlers.

Bush was considered a cowboy,  Palin a hick, and both would have been publicly eviscerated by the big-3 networks for such a blunder -  yet another example of their ineptness.  Obama has been characterized as so smooth and sophisticated, and this is considered a simple 'off-the-cuff remark' or a harmless misspeak.

Should we all stop being weenies who are wounded by carelessly offensive remarks?  Sure.  I just would like an end to the double standard.

Idiotic remark from Barbara Bush

What a stupid remark from Barbara Bush.  That whole family lacks compassion.  Unbelieveable.

Barbara Bush: Things Working Out Very Well for Poor Evacuees from New Orleans

By E&P Staff

Published: September 05, 2005 7:25 PM ET updated 8:00 PM

NEW YORK Accompanying her husband, former President George H.W.Bush, on a tour of hurricane relief centers in Houston, Barbara Bush said today, referring to the poor who had lost everything back home and evacuated, This is working very well for them.

The former First Lady's remarks were aired this evening on National Public Radio's Marketplace program.

She was part of a group in Houston today at the Astrodome that included her husband and former President Bill Clinton, who were chosen by her son, the current president, to head fundraising efforts for the recovery. Sen. Hilary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama were also present.

In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: Almost everyone I’ve talked to says we're going to move to Houston.

Then she added: What I’m hearing is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality.

And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them.

And that was a crude, ignorant, presumptuous, pompous remark.....sm
which seems to abound with many on the right who are on the defensive regarding our situation, how we got here (hello, why weren't you screaming at Bush during two administrations as we all crashed and burned and thousands of lives were being lost in Iraq, an illegal, immoral, opportunistic war)??? You know absolutely NOTHING about me, my past, or my politics so please get some class and intelligence, frivolous, mindless attacks are soooooo overdone.

I speak English very well thank you, and the nasty little remark you made
regarding the usage of 'ebonics' and other insulting comments you have made is totally unwarranted and again a cowardly and racist stereotype you do not seem to have a problem posting on this board.  You have repeatedly insulted many who post on this board with your racist bigoted rants and it is sickening.  Yes, I am a black woman but more importantly I am an American and ALL people matter to me, regardless of party lines or color - not just a select few because we are all in this TOGETHER.   But I am glad you have exposed yourself regarding your thoughts - just proves to many here that your bigotry, predjudice and hatred of people different from you definitely casts you in a light that is not flattering at all.

your remark is totally obsolete, low-class, belligerent ..sm
and not even worth reading, let alone answering.

Follow the example of Senator MrCain, a truly decent loser.

His today's statement made me respect him a lot!

Stop your imbecile tit-for-tat and choose a user name you coward!
it appears you lost your opinion or you wouldn't feel the need to remark on mine....nm

I think BB has a point here in that the main point on the board is political discussion, and let'
face it, there is SO MUCH going on right now, changes, problems, disasters, and so much debate on what should/could be done, but so many tims the political discussion disintegrates in a finger-pointing, name-calling exercise, spouting religion all over the place. Yeah, our spiritual beliefs are dearly held and we would all strive to be the best we can be, and do whatever we can whatever the ideology is, but sometimes I wonder, since we have a board EXPRESSLY for Faith isuues, where relgious debates/discussions/forums, etc are welcome, why does THIS board have to be turned into RELIGION BOARD PART II, especially if one ideology wants to dominate or ridicule/condemn those who come on here for lively inteligent discussion, debate of issues in Congress and in our lives, and just want their beliefs held separately? CNN is not EWTN or any other Christian network, and there are constant informative, bright, lively, balanced discussions from all over the political spectrum on the credentialed news stations, as well as C-Span, but they are not constantly hiding behind a cross, rosary, bible, star of David, or whatever....can we not strive to do the same and put religious debate on the Faith board?? Just a thought to ponder, MHO, it might work beter, who knows?
is the the starting point or the end point for the middle class?

Ridiculous. sm
Hey, aren't you guys worried about Rove anymore?
Ridiculous...I think not

This is not the military they are talking about. This is everyday people who have skills that can be used to help in the nation-building, desk jobs, PR jobs, all that sort of thing. An over-50 overweight person most certainly could do these things, clerical, educational.  In my neighborhood a 52-year-old national guard guy got called up for MILITARY duty so why would they not expect 50-somethings to lend whatever their professional abilities might be to lend a hand in desk job sort of work.

Am I going???? Are you nuts???

Of course not. I have fought against our occupation of Iraq from 2002 to this present day. I did not vote for Bush. I am just saying those of you that did, and those of you who just pretend everything is okay, this is your chance to show your true colors. I mean, after all, you are with the president or you're not (so he says).

We are not rebuilding anything in Iraq. They are on the verge of civil war. They can't put a constitution together and who in their right minds would expect them to be able to. You don't go from years of a monarchy to democracy overnight...and they are ending up with an Islamic government, sort of like...The Taliban!

Two simple questions.

What did my ______ die?

Are the Bush supporters, those who voted for him, are you going to join the civilian corps to support the cause you believe in?

That is ridiculous
Wow, that is a very scientific method, chosing who to vote or not to vote for because of their middle name. Wow. I may chose my next vote based on who is wearing my favorite color.

This is all so ridiculous, seriously.
Do you really think that the only reason Obama has said he feels family is off limits is to help his campaign? Do any of you really honestly think that? If so, then I do have pity for you to live in such a jaded world. He has children too and I can pretty much bet that he wouldn't want them attacked like that either.

It doesn't matter to me at all that SP daughter is pregnant and a teenager, everone makes mistakes. Period. It is not SP's fault this happened. No matter what you do or what you say when a child reaches a certain age they are going to make their own decisions and you cannot be there 24 hours a day.

I just have one question. Would any of you, as parents, put your child through this? Think hard and do some searching here. Don't just think about your political sides, because it doesn't matter if you are Ind., Rep, or Dem. If your daughter was 17 and pregnant, would you expose her to the public scrutiny? This is where my real problem with the whole thing is. It is not right that her daughter is going through this in the media, it should be private but we all know how the media, in all its forms, is today. SP didn't have to announce the pregnancy but it would have come out within the next few weeks or so regardless, she did the right thing by doing it in her words though and I am proud of that. But again, would you put your child through this. It is not bad enough that her daughter would have to worry about what people are going to say at school and in her home area, but now she has the world looking at her, talking about this - good or bad. Would you really put your child through that?

My question has nothing to do with birth control, abortion, etc. It is just a question, for me, of SP's judgment here. Would you put your child through all of this and for what? Your career or political aspiration?

My answer is no, I would not. Nothing is more important to me than my children, I'm sorry not even the VP job of this country. I don't care if your child says, "Mom, do it, I'll be okay." I would not and could put her through that.

Again, I am not saying SP is a bad mother and am not bashing her, I'm just saying IMO she used very poor judgment when she agreed to be the VP candidate. I would be saying this regardless of what party affiliation she has.
okay, this is ridiculous already
doesn't anybody have a shred of common decency left? Where the heck are you all coming up with this utter crap?
Isn't it ridiculous?
It is so ridiculous ... all the BS that flies around the web? And even more ridiculous that so many people believe it all. What the #^@%?!!

The whole flag pin thing is so juvenile and superficial too. Honestly, I don't see how politicians cannot view our citizens as a bunch of nitwits!
It's ridiculous and
childish and gets in the way of what the process is SUPPOSED to be!

There would be nothing wrong with a neutral panel analyzing their plans to the degree that they can to see if they work out numerically (as they always say the other's won't)

And to provide understanding into the issues voted on (since they are never about one thing but have a other crap slapped in with a main issue). Mainstream America would have a more realistic picture of who they are voting for.

Or perhaps they should just switch from mud slinging to Jello wrestling!
This guy is just ridiculous
So far he has lied about everything, talks about running for congress, and then stands up the one guy at a rally that gave him all the publicity (McCain).
What you are saying is just ridiculous...nm
nm
Ridiculous!

Below is copied directly from the link.  It doesn't talk about punishment of any kind for those who don't wish to participate.  It DOES talk about rewards, though, for those who do wish to participate.  It offers a choice.  You don't have to participate in it if you're rich and can afford to send your kids to college, but why do you want to deny those who can't the opportunity to do so?

You're filling this board with fiction and calling it truth.  THIS is the TRUE message of the link:

"Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free."

That is ridiculous.
If anything, his administration will return the rights that have been lost these last 8 years.
Ridiculous.
Every single word you utter. Do you actually know any lefties? You cannot begin to imagine how excited and energized the base is despite the pubs bets efforts to throw out their wet blankets. The progressives have always served the party as vigilent critical watchdogs. It is a necessary evil in ANY political party...the ability to be introspective, even self-deprecating at times...a lesson the pubs obviously have not yet learned the value of.
Oh, come on! This is ridiculous. You have gone off
nm
Ridiculous!
If Burris had not been appointed to fill Obama's senate seat, another Democrat would have been appointed, and the vote would have been exactly the same. So much for your silly conspiracy theory.
That is ridiculous.
My entire life has been devoted to midwifery and GYN/NICU/OB nursing, and you think that because I don't want to participate in abortions I should find another line of work? I've taken care of plenty of RESULTS of abortions gone wrong, in the form of babies who decided to take a breath after they were expelled or manually removed from their mothers' wombs. Does that count?
No it is not ridiculous!
You knew exactly what your job entailed when you signed up for it. If you are not willing to perform the requirements of your job, you should find another line of work.
Ridiculous
If you don't want your families torn apart, then make sure you are LEGAL!!!

I'm sorry but this is just getting ridiculous. I have no problem with immigrants, as long as they are here legally, following our laws, and helping to pay taxes.

The snowball just keeps rolling...
Tell Me About it! It's ridiculous...and to think,

just last month, Rendel was crying the blues about not having enough $$ to keep the state running, so took all this bailout money. He is doing a double duty bailout by following what O is doing and Rendel duplicates O's programs. He should be run out on a rail and thank heavens, this is his last term.

Tea Party in Harrisburg on April 15.

Ridiculous!!!

That's ridiculous
I bet you're behind Obama 100%, but he claims to be a Christian, so do you consider him to be a "glassy eyed born again zombie"?

I love how everyone deserves tolerance except for Christians.
TS: How ridiculous is this!: You say in
at the end of your post:...

I won't answer your absurd accusations again and 'return the other readers to the program previously in progress.'

Are we on TV and you are an anchor man?
This is ridiculous
Once again the actions of a few are being attributed to many. I am a Christian and I am not forcing my beliefs on anyone. I have never gathered to decide who the next victim is and I am not on a crusade to save anyone nor am I on a mission to take over the country and make everyone a Christian. You have said the gays and lesbians want to be left alone and live their lives. Guess what? So do Christians. I just want to live my life, worship as I choose and be respected for who and what I am as I respect others for who and what they are. True Christians love and respect their fellow man. If one does not do so, then they are not truly Christian people. I have said this before and will say it again, calling oneself a Christian does not make it so.
Ridiculous.
He's only been in office since January. You are totally unrealistic. He couldn't have just sat idly by and done nothing - that's just silly!

People said the same things about FDR back in his day, yet he turned out to be the best thing that ever happend for this country.

Get over your prejudices and give the man a chance.
