I would be glad to learn more about her, so I will, but briefly
just heard is only a one term Governer from Alaska and she is NOT Pro-Choice, so we will see.
First, I posted a report above and you

could read it, paying attention to pages 8,9,10, and 11 in part 1, then pages 4 and 5 in part 2.

Secondly, it was both the dems and pubs that passed that bailout. Bush suggested a bailout plan but the dems and pubs are the ones who make and pass the bills into law. Bush signed it, yes, but I betcha he didn't read it, just like this stimulus plan of late.

I'm glad you posted this. Thanks! nm

I'm glad you posted this too, Libby

I hope they DO do it....glad you posted this...
and I am sure lots of federal employees will be happy about it too.
Glad you posted this. I missed it this morning.
These were the parts I though summed up the whole interview well.

"What I am saying about the guilt by association, which as you know, has a long and tragic history in this country, what I am saying is that every one of us should actually talk to lots and lots of people and especially our political leaders. Far from being a demerit on his record, the fact that [Obama] is willing to talk to a lot of people from a lot of different walks of life, listen to a lot of opinions, and still have a mind of his own is something we should honor and admire."

"It is not at all true that he sought me out to listen to my radical ideas or that I sought him out. The truth is that we came together in Chicago in the civic community around issues of school improvement, around issues of the rights of poor neighborhoods to have jobs and housing and so on, and that's the full extent of our relationship so this idea that we need to know more, like there is some dark, hidden secret, some secret link, is a myth. It's a myth thrown out by people who want to exploit the politics of fear, and I think it's a great credit to the American people that those politics were rejected. The idea that we should continue to be frightened and worried and, you know, barricaded,it is falling down, and it should."

The guy doing the interview really pressed Ayers on the extent of the relationship. I really didn't come away with the impression that they were best friends or anything like that.

glad you had a good Thanksgiving.
We had pizza. :oP
Good, there's no hatred on the right. Glad to hear, BUT how easily
you guys forget, selective memory I mean. No one was born yesterday on here. Bill Clinton caught more flack about any and everything than Bush could imagine in his time in the White House. Some on the right would stop at nothing to have the man relieved of his job. So, if you were one to sit tight and not say a word against Clinton while he was a sitting president good for you, but you most definitely were sitting alone.

Now, don't get me wrong I do not feel the same way about Pres Bush as gt does. I believe God works all things out in the end and he will have his judgement day. Whether he, or anyone else for that matter, rots in hell will be for them and God to decide.
Oh good, thanks for replying. Glad they're not just giving it to the right....lol...thx.
:-)
Historical moment. We have come together

Historical Perspective

I heard many calls today on talk radio from these naturalized US citizens who said to just take a look at what happened to these nations.

Think what y'all want, but I'll never forget what they've done to take the $ I make and hand it over to some jerk who pays nothing in taxes.  Yeah, that's really fair.

One clip was played where a lady said she's so happy that she'll never have to pay a mortage, car payment, and even gas for her car!  So this is okay?  Next time I need gas $ or something, I'll just put my hand out and y'all can just empty your wallets.  So if someone owns 2 acres and I own only 1/2, you have to pony up to even out the difference.  Enjoy it and don't bitch about it if you voted for this naked socialist.

Good luck to charitable organizations.  It should be interesting to see how many people continue to give once they've been completely raped for all they've earned.

Also a historical fact
that muslims were pirates (even then) capturing christians, holding them for ransom, holding them in slavery, forcing conversion to islam by all sorts of unpleasant means.  we could waste a lot of time trying to decide ''who started it'' but i believe there's plenty of blood on muslim and christian hands throughout the centuries.  christians tortured, forced conversions and executed, so did muslims.  the important fact is that christians, for the most, part gave up such barbarism a few centuries ago.  radical muslims are stuck back in the dark ages, and pretty comfy there.
You have no idea of historical relevancy. sm
I am furious at people such as you who would put us all at risk, in fact, put our military at risk daily.  SHAME ON YOU!
Wow. A historical moment. I almost never agree with your posts....

As stated, I would not advise you to interpret Mein Kampf as historical reality...nm

Young Voters Fall for Obama’s Promises Without Any Historical Perspective..sm
Election 2008: Young Voters Fall for Obama’s Promises Without Any Historical Perspective

By Liz Peek
Financial Columnist

Today we will almost surely elect Barack Obama President of the United States. A new generation will vote for Mr. Obama –- a generation that has grown up with the Internet. This new crop of voters has access to more information than any that came before, and yet has swallowed Obama’s impossible campaign promises and contradictory policies just as trustingly as those who in earlier times looked for a chicken in every pot.

Welcome to the disillusionment of another generation. I don’t anticipate this inevitable consequence of today’s election with any glee, believe me. To see young people turning out in droves to vote for this eloquent, attractive young man is inspiring. To hear them buy into his promises, though, is sobering.

For instance, we are told that the image of the United States has suffered mightily under George Bush, and that Obama is going to usher in a veritable global love-fest. Would those falling over themselves to herald our new president include the peoples of South Korea and Colombia –- allies both — whose much-needed free trade agreements with the U.S. Obama has opposed?

How about our neighbors in Canada or Mexico; will Obama’s promised re-write of NAFTA endear them to the U.S.? Is it possible that Obama’s opposition to free trade demonstrates his gratitude to labor unions –- groups that aroused his ire by donating to the Clinton and Edwards campaigns but suddenly were much more warmly welcomed when they began shifting funds his way?

Over a year ago I wrote a tongue-in-cheek column defending the status quo against the pressing demand for “Change” writ large. While politicians of all stripes were heralding new directions, they were ignoring, for example, that the U.S. has been blessed for many years with low inflation. Voters in their 30s and 40s could not be expected to remember the devastating inflation of the 1970s. They couldn’t be expected to understand how double-digit price hikes threw the fear of God into retirees on fixed incomes and created the same kind of paralysis in lending that we are witnessing today.

They might not connect the dots between Obama’s enthusiasm for the Employee Free Choice Act, a resurgence of unionization, and wage-driven inflation. They might not realize that restricting trade with China, re-writing NAFTA and barring adoption of free trade agreements with Colombia and South Korea will indeed drive prices higher.

The United States has also enjoyed a period of stable employment. The new generation has never seen serious unemployment. True, they have witnessed shifts in employment as manufacturing jobs have been lost to lower-priced locales. But they have never seen unemployment rates go much above 6%, where it is now. In 1982, when unemployment reached 9.7%, Obama was 21 years old. I doubt he was much focused on the dismal state of the economy. Voters, however, were focused, and gave Ronald Reagan a mandate to set the country on a new course –- one which encouraged growth through lower taxes, expanded trade and deregulation.

That program was adopted by both Democrats and Republicans because it worked. People in their thirties and forties cannot imagine that raising taxes on successful people might harm the economy. That’s because they weren’t around to witness the exodus of talent from England –- a country wherein punitive marginal tax rates squashed incentives and drove out anyone who could locate elsewhere. Margaret Thatcher didn’t just join the Reagan Revolution –- she clung to it for dear life.

What young voters have seen, and have responded to, is the collapse of Wall Street. Because bankers, politicians and speculators conspired to create the worst investment bubble in modern times, we are about to abandon the policies that brought millions of people around the world into the middle class. Policies that gave people real hope –- not just its rhetorical facsimile. This is a tragedy.

and balanced.......sm
as a matter of fact, he is terribly unbalanced or imbalanced...he wanted to blow up the Coit Towers in San Francisco last month.........or in November.  I hate him.
Glad you enjoyed them and glad to see you back!

I am a Fox fan, because I believe they are fair and they are balanced...
and I think they really did the right thing in this case. I hope nobody airs it. It will get ugly enough without that kind of thing floating around.
Yes fair and balanced. sm

I disagree - it is well known that they are extremely right-slanted.  Fair and balanced.  What a joke.  Why do you think people in the know refer to them as Faux or Fixed news - just a coincidence?

Chris Wallace's vicious sucker-punch attack on Bill Clinton (wherin Wallace got his rear end handed to him on a platter).

Fair and balanced....LOL (sm)
That must be why they tried to pass off that GOP press release like it was their own....complete with the same typos...
Truly Fair And Balanced
Something here for everyone.
Yep - looks fair and balanced - NOT

FOX makes no attempt to be balanced, they just SAY that
It's so obvious, my goodness.

LOL. Yeah, and they claim to be fair and balanced. NM

Yeah. That fair and balanced claim
nm
Definitely more fair and balanced than the mainstream media...
surely you can admit that??
Mainstream media are Bush apologists, hardly balanced.sm
We get Bush propaganda 24/7. They say the same thing over and over and over again until people believe it. At least Russians realized the stories Tass told them were stupid and censored. Here, if the government and news says its so, it must be gospel even if the stories can't possibly be true. They have you convinced it is patriotic to be a fascist and loyal to the state instead of to your fellow Americans. If there really is a liberal media out there, I sure wish they would speak up.
Excuse me, but during Clinton administration, we had a balanced budget for the first time in ......s
American history, plus a surplus. I am not saying that everything that Bill Clinton did was good, and keep in mind that you were living in one of the most expensive areas of the country (I used to be a Californian, San Francisco is outrageous), for most of us, there was relative prosperity and peace, even though the Terrorists were were already threatening, but that also went back to Daddy Bush's time. How anyone can think that things are better now, I can't imagine! I am happy for you if you feel you personally are better off, that is great, but area you even seeing the hundreds of thousands of Americans who are filing for unemployment, many for the first time in their lives? Every day more lay-offs and closings? Banking deregulation under the Republican adminstration killed this country in so many ways, not to mention trillions for a war where.....we accomplished what? Why can't the Iraqi people fight for their own independence and freedom, as we did, and as the French did? We got rid of Saddam, and yes he was evil, but Osams is still on the loose. Afghanistan I could see, to get that demon, but going into Iraq? That all came down to oil interestes, IMHO, and Halliburton made a bundle. IMHO
Great and balanced post, so very true, this crisis did not develop.....sm
overnight, and certainly will not be fixed in a short amount of time. And we are All going to have to work together and forget party lines, and forget about the blame, work on a long-term cure and get provisions in government so that this type of unobstructed GREED and thievery CANNOT happen again! Free enterprise yes, runaway deception, elitiism, and legalized loan-sharking and theft, no!!!! Thank you for posting, Z!
Fair & balanced - they give both sides equal time
They let both sides speak. They have equal guests meaning 2 pubs & 2 crats, or 1 pub and 1 crat. Unlike the other liberal stations who have 5 crats and 1 pub.

They tell the news like it is. There is more to Fox News than O'Reilly and Hannity. I'm watching Shepard Smith and others who are reporting news stories. These are the same news stories I see on other channels. They are fair because they give a chance for the opposing side to explain themselves and they are balanced because they have equal number of people. What liberals don't like is that the conservatives have anything to say at all. The liberals want to control the country (getting one heck of a start too), which would be an economic disaster to the country (thank you Pelosi with your pet pig projects you keep hiding in the stimulus and Reid for slipping in a pig project that does nothing for the rest of the country). The liberals are trying to shut down anyone with opposing viewpoints than theirs, and they are having their lawyers re-write the laws and change to consitution. - Not good for America. The only thing this stimulus plan is good for is to get people re-elected into their position. Congress does not give a hoot about America....

Pelosi: "Hurry fellas lets vote, I'm off to Rome". Hey there Pelosi, have a good trip, while we all wait for our pink slips and food stamps. Have yourself a great time at our expense.
Report says no PENALTY for this????? nm

xox

Yes I read the report...

It can be argued both ways and it is being done so as we speak.  The document does not matter much to me. As I said, the NIE has been wrong before but I see what I see and I hear what I hear and the white house is the only place where rosy scenarios are being played out. It is getting old.

What would I have done to stop al-Qai'da?? I would have gone to Afghanistan with all the support and good will behind me that was available at that time. I would have **stayed the course** there until OBL was found. I would have implemented democratic policies there and hope that they would spread altho I believe the chances of that happening are slim to none. I would never never have gone to Iraq. I would have finished Afghanistan, rebuilt, and come home.  I really believe that democracy does not come through the barrel of a gun and we cannot force democracy on people. I also do not believe that a perceived failure in Iraq will defang al-Qai'da et al.  These are tribal people who have been fighting amongst themselves for 100s of years. It is what they know. That combined with the illiteracy that is prevalent (and I believe that plays a big part in what the people believe - without knowledge how can they formulate ideas and make decisions...they can't). They believe their leaders and follow them.  I think we would have made much more progress had we **stayed the course** in Afghanistan.

Well, go read the report out by the
You will see about earmarks and how terribly the democrats did. In fact, Biden got a rating of ZERO.  Yeah, Obama and Biden care about the taxpayer, ha!. They do not. -dare you to take a look

Fox News Watch is another good show on Saturdays.  foxnews.com

I think that was a bogus report...

How convenient for it to come out when it did.  Sure expedited the process for the beggars.

It wasn't a Fox report, D.A.
It was an independent filmmaker who caught those dim-witted Obots on film.

You were third from the left, weren't you?
I see nothing wrong with the report.
I see not one single fact that can be disputed by rational people with a realistic outlook on the current state of our country. What exactly do you dispute in the document?

Btw, I could care less about whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, or a Whig. You hate Obama and everything he does; we get that. Party affiliation or not at all does not matter, which is why you have no clue what mine is.

As an aside, perhaps people would not jump all over you making false assumptions if you did not do so first.

Here's the video of the above report

maybe next time he should report to
you which sort of toiletpaper he prefers?
They never WILL learn - that's what's so sad.
their same mistakes over and over again, because they just can't envision any other way to do things or to address this country's problems than what's been done for the last 8 years. They're so obsessed with running round and round, trying to out-shout everyone about their 2 loser candidates, while simultaneously trying to convince us (and themselves, maybe) how the Christian way is the ONLY way, that they can't use their brains (or their mouths) for anything else.

What hypocrites. If they sling mud and bash a candidate, it's 'god's will'. If the dems do it, they're 'evil-doers'.

All I can say is, if the blinder-wearers get into the White House again, then 'lordy, help us all'. I'll sure be scrutinizing, & wondering about, every jet that comes in a little too low over my city.
Everyone up there should have to learn
xx
you can learn a lot
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-tobacco_movement_in_Nazi_Germany
Something you should learn (sm)

Just because people do not believe or think the way you do about Obama does not automatically mean they have some underlying dark secret for hating him.  I voted for Obama, but that doesn't mean I hate McCain.  I simply do not agree with his policies or his record.  I think you are just waiting for someone to say anything on here that you can misconstrue into some kind of racial argument.  The fact that YOU are the one bringing this up speaks much louder than your question ever could.

And the more I learn........... sm
about the mindset of liberals, extreme or otherwise, the more conservative I become. So I guess we cancel each other out. I used to think that, at some point, this country would return to a more moral base, but I sadly don't see that happening with the likes of you and other liberals who push such wicked agendas. What a pity.
Rapture righties would report you to FBI....
If you said that about Bush. Calm down, the nurse has your shot of Thorazine ready.
Don't know. It was just a 1 minute report on the news (nm)

Fox has nothing to do with it, they just happened to report it first....grow up, and allow others th
I'm starting to dislike you dems more and more every day. Keep sinking, along with that sex article you forgot to publish the link to. You are all smut and no substance, most of the time.
just hit the report message button
that's what it is there for.
The full report is due to come out today. The..sm
preliminary report is that the first dude lied and did talk to multiple government officials, not just one as he says, regarding the case, and he relentlessly pushed to get the trooper fired. It will be interesting to see what the full determination will be.
Please report which link so it can be removed. nm
