How old were you when Anita Hill testified?
Go here and read the sexual harrassment section...in its entirity. He is a disgusting excuse for a human being and could only have been appointed and confirmed under a Bush administration...and my opinion of him has NOTHING to do with right of left. It has to do with right and wrong and the dignity of the SC, which CT undermines every time he walks into the chambers.

Anita Hill lied - there were two sides to the case
Only Thomas and Hill know what really happened. When this case was ongoing I was a democrat, yet I believed Thomas. People need to read the case and decide for themsleves. Just because Anita Hill said there was sexual harrassment doesn't mean it's true. I was on jury duty for a full week for a girl who said her boyfriend raped her. With her crying on the witness stand and carrying on I believed she was. On the fifth day we were all dismissed from duty, the girl told her lawyer that he really did not rape her and she made it up because she was made at him. Please don't go by just the link below either. Do some more researching, but from what I read of this article I don't think it's leaning towards one or the other side. All I'm saying is there are two sides of the story. By your post I'm sure if he was a democrat who wasn't getting ready to look over the info about the O you would praise him as a great judge.

Conyers said that they were not impeachment hearings....
I don't see where that is coming off the fence. I am apparently not the only one in denial...you cannot make me believe with Dem majority in Congress, if they thought they had any goods on Bush they would not go forward.

There are just too many if's. And there is that pesky Iraq Liberation Act that Clinton and the dems made law while he was President. Tough to explain that one away, when the same intelligence was used to arrive at that as was used to go into Iraq under Bush. How are the impeachers going to explain "yeah we believed it when Clinton was President and he was telling the truth and we made a law stating regime should change in Iraq, but then we changed our minds and along came that nasty George Bush and fooled us into believing it again." See, all of that would come out in an impeachment hearing. How do you explain your way out of that? That is probably the question they are asking themselves. If they impeach him, the next thing would be to recall all of them because they are incompetent. If one man, especially one man who Dems en masse say is a bumbling fool himself, could pull that off...fool Congress, the nation and the world...the whole thing is so contradictory it is ludicrous. Best thing for the Republicans WOULD be for them to impeach Bush, right before the election. Oh yeah...GO for it. Sheesh. That is exactly why they won't. Which makes me distrust them all even more. Because if they really do have something impeachable on him and don't go forward just because they don't want to lose the election...that pretty much nullfies integrity and wanting to do the right thing. Which, we ALL know, is not why they are doing this anyway. It is not a big deal, that is why you are not hearing about it. The mainstream media who swoon every time Obama opens his mouth would be ALL over this if there was something there. There just isn't. Sorry; the blood lust will just have to be assuaged in some other way.
Right now on C-Span, they are holding hearings
for the auto bailout. It's just starting.
Isn't it time to watch Hannity or bowl or some other watch Nascar?
UR W T
fool on the hill
We are at war, in the middle of a war so we cant talk badly about our president or administration..Oh please.  I will talk and shout out how awful this little jerk is in the WH and anyone else who sees the TRUTH, please speak out too.  To be quiet about this warmonger and what he is doing to America is a major crime.  No, I wont be quiet..I will scream out what this chickenhawk has done to America.  You can sit meekly by and take whatever the fool on the hill shoves your way.
What in the sam hill are you talking about?

Get the groove on sister. Let's get some real talking going here.

And I say again....look at all the experience on the hill now....
and where did it get us? In the worst financial crisis since the depression. Frankly, at this point, "experience" means ZIP to me. I am ready for some good old common sense. I don't care if they talk "purty," I want some good DECISIONS. She is looking the best to me in that area!
Here is the Capital Hill

Here is the link to find your senators in your own state.

Once link is opened, look at upper right corner in blue area for Find Your Senators and pick your state.
I agree with you. Bill and Hill think that
if they break it, they can fix it.  They're up to something.  Cannot trust either of them, and even though I am a staunch Democrat, I will not vote for her/him.  My opinion is that the country's only hope is in Obama, whether you like him or not.  He impressed me because he spoke out against the war when it was not politically correct, when people were said to be "unpatriotic" if they disagreed with the shrub.  Have been paying very close attention to the primaries, caucuses, etc. since before Christmas.  Please, no more Clintons, no more Bushes.  Maybe Hillary will crash and burn.
Media Bias per AP, The Hill, etc.

When I said dems, I meant the ones on the hill....
I did not mean you. However, why are you not willing to hold them accountable? They are to blame. If it were Republicans at the heart of it, I would be saying the same thing. That is what I don't get about the party faithful on EITHER side.

Fact is, 92 dems voted no on it. Had they not, it would have passed. That was planned from the start. They do NOT want it to be a Dem majority, otherwise they would just pass it.

Why on earth should they vote for it if they don't believe in it and their constituents are asking them NOT to pass it, just because Bush wants it? THAT is what I am talking about. I say good for them. Toeing the party line is not what we need in this country. Holding people accountable is what we SHOULD be doing.
Actually, neither one means a hill of beans to me...thanks for trying...nm

If these calls did not amount to a hill of
beans when it came time for my representatives to *roll up their sleeves* and do *THEIR JOBS,* then it is time to fire them and elect someone who will listen to the calls. That is why we elected them, to listen to their constituents and REPRESENT us! You just do not get the picture at all.
Relax, you're comparing everybody to Slick Will and Hill.

I never heard Hill commenting on SP breasts

Must have been on O'Reilly show.  Was there a large screen behind him showing various closeup videos of both Hillary's and SP's chests to illustrate the point?

There is a reason that Bill and Hill aren't...
out there strongly for Obama. They ARE for the party, but not him particularly. If Hillary was invested in this, she would be going all over the country stumping. She's not. Bill was saying nothing but positive things on Greta Van Susteren's show. Hillary is fixed on 2012...and the only way she runs for Prez then is if Obama loses. If he wins, it might be 8 years. Neither one are going to stray from the party line, but they certainly aren't in the ranks of "ardent" Obama supporters.

I personally think if Obama were to think about ditching Biden (and I really don't think he is) and asked Hillary about it, I think she would tell him in no uncertain terms to take a hike. We would never know that publically of course...I think he knows he messed in his nest with the Clintons. I can't see him going there, and I certainly can't see Michelle and Hillary rubbing elbows for 4 years...lol. But, like you, I could be wrong....stranger things have happened. lol.
Capital hill is being flooded with calls
to stimulus. So, if Obama states one more time during his speeches with a bunch of pronouns and adjectives, "The people want this!" I am going to..... well, barf! I still WANT MY MONEY BACK FROM THE BAILOUT. GOVERNMENT SUCKS!

Stop making a mountain out of a mole hill!
Vietnam-era radical Bill Ayers says he knows President-elect Barack Obama no better than thousands of other people in Chicago.

In an interview Friday morning on ABC's "Good Morning America," Ayers distanced himself from Obama. Ayers said — for example — the two didn't even meet before Ayers hosted an event at his home for Obama.

Ayers said the relationship was based on things like improving schools in their Chicago neighborhood — not on Ayers' political views.
um...you're thinking of Bill and Hill, walking out of the white house with everything
That was a fact, overlooked by most libs.
Do ya think lithium would help here? (only kidding, doesn't make sense, but this is Capitol Hill

HJC impeachment/non-impeachment hearings.

The suggestion that the democrats are afraid the HJC hearings will exonerate Bush is absurd, idiotic and preposterous…and that's putting it mildly.  Dream on.  The conservatives have been putting so much energy into denials and obstruction, whatever they think they might have would do nothing but make them look like fools up against the meticulous body of evidence that has been compiled against Bush.  The issues are broad and deep and the committe most definitely does not have to lift a finger to preserve that cloud of suspicion.  This is not a question of intent (to impeach or not to impeach), although you really never know what could turn up along the way.  Actually, none of us will know what they do or do not have unless the process moves forward.  If you are so confident that the republicans can score that laughable slam dunk on Niger, it seems like you would be first in line for that action.

Who pays attention to Bugliosi?  John Conyers, the chairman of the HJC, for one, who came out of his longstanding ambivalence and decided to take it to the next level based on the content of that book.  Heard him say so in the interview.  The link is there.  Give it a listen.  Something about Bugliosi.  No matter how hard you try to discredit him, that obnoxious perfect conviction record of his (21 murder trials, 21 murder convictions) will just keep getting in the way.  The dude is really good at what he does….murder prosecution and conviction.  When he speaks, the legal community listens.  If he has laid out a case against Bush for murder, you can bet the farm it would be a good read.  You may hate his politics, but as a prosecution attorney, he is entirely credible.  He did not put himself out on a limb and risk his stellar reputation to sell books.  This guy is set to sink his teeth into this long after this hearing is over and long after the changing of the guard.  He is relentless, committed and focused and he is not doing this for money or fame…he certainly has enough of that.  It is a matter of deep personal satisfaction.

Besides that, he is certainly not the only instigator.  There is that "near" 50% support for impeachment....another reason Conyers came off the fence about this.  He is also a bulldog with teeth.  Whether the impeachment does or does not happen is not what is motivating either one of them.  Kucinich is big on impeachment, but for him it also boils down to the same thing.  The evidence is compelling and they simply want to get to the truth, whatever it turns out to be, and they believe that the rest of us probably have a vested interest in that as well.

It is up to the committee to call anyone they wish to call who they think might have something of value to bring to the table.  It is a delusion to think this is just about Niger.  That whole episode is almost inconsequential in the grand scheme of it all.  That would almost be funny if it weren't so naive.  If you would like more democratic rant to discredit, Dennis Kucinich is extremely articulate.  His 30-minute interview on C-Span ought to keep you busy until after the election.

Thanks, I will try to watch this.sm
Thanks for posting!
Could not watch either. Sm
I could not watch either.  I don't believe a work he says and he makes me ill as well.
You said to watch...

so I did and gave my critique.

I watch so you don't have to

Bill O'Ego is SO desperate to get his "religious" viewers riled up so they will unite and vote repub.  Last night, he was outraged (he and Hannity have so overused that emotion) because a Catholic church in San Fran did not respond with hatred and/or violence when two people presented to church in outlandish outfits to receive communion.  The film shows them standing in line quietly and receiving the wafer and walking away.  O'Ego felt it was a great ATTACK on his religion and felt that this should be BIG-BIG news. Claims the media is covering it up.  He said if HE had been there . . . well . . . you know what a big he-man he is  . . . It is obvious he is trying to divide people.  According to my reading, jesus said turn the other cheek, and love one another. Ann Coulter then appeared and they discussed how she was so innocent and being attacked.  Oh me brothers . . . .

Better watch it.....sm
The kind, loving, nonjudgmental christians on this board will roast you for being anything but what they deem is RIGHT. They'll burn in he11 before anyone else just for being what they are - living a lie.
8 & 11 PM CST watch this

Hannity's America, Foxnews.com.  Investigating Obama's friendships, etc.  Can you handle it?

Incidentally, Mike Huckabee has a new show on Fox, too.  It's also on today, at 7 PM, CST.  The first one last week was really good.

Did you watch the one from CNN?
It looks like the same kid.

Look, I wouldn't question it, but he can't tell us to be "our brother's keeper" and then not keep his own brother!

I would just like to see some more walking the talk, ya know? If he is really big into helping the down trodden and lifting up everyone, I'd like to see him out there doing it. And not just to get ahead in politics either (so we can't really count community organizer).
Exactly. Just tax us all or watch our
trillion dollar deficit grow even worse.

The thing you guys don't understand (or are ignoring) is that healthcare is a HUGE expense out of the federal budget as it is now.  At this point it is absolutely essential to get that cost under control, which means reform.  Cutting the cost of healthcare and yet making healthcare available to everyone is a win - win situation.

gonna watch it
Im gonna watch the comet explode.  I think its Sunday night.  Gotta check..however, whenever it is, I will be out there watching my beautiful uncluttered unsmogged desert sky.
Watch that propaganda now!
It's simply not true that Cindy Sheehan had "nothing but praise" for Bush and has now done a 360-degree turn. It's Drudge and Limbaugh nonsense with quotes taken out of context and spun to try and seem....what? It's nothing if not illogical. Aren't those intent on smearing her loudly proclaiming that she has been anti-Bush and anti-war since long before her son was killed? Then why would she fall all over herself praising him AFTER her son was killed? It makes no sense at all, but the attackers aren't really big on making sense apparently. They just throw all the garbage at the wall and see what might stick, that's how they operate.

What I really don't get is what the attackers are meaning to say. Even if it were true that Ms. Sheehan "did a 360" - point please? So what? So perhaps she was trying to make the best of a bad bad situation and least be respectful toward the president in consideration of his meeting with her and other family members - but since then, as she says herself, we have had the Downing Street proof, we have learned there were no WMDs at the time we invaded, we have learned all sorts of unbelievably horrible things - why SHOULDN'T anyone let those things change their views?

Now she just wants to know what this "noble" cause is that the President keeps referring to, and she wants to ask him to stop using the dead to justify making more unnecessary dead. But oh no, she must have an AGENDA! - well seems like that's it, isn't it? She wants to know and she wants him to look her in the eye and explain himself. And why shouldn't he? Or more precisely, why can't he seem to be able to do it? If he is sincere in his beliefs and committed to the cause, considering he's such a straight-talking nice guy, what's the problem? What is the big deal? It could all be over with in an hour. Why won't he just do it?
I don't watch O'Reilly. ?????
duh
I don't watch TV. Especially the TV news. Never have. nm
