Obama's little girls were taken or any other government offical's kids were taken, there would be no hesitation and would definitely use waterboarding.

You are kidding, right? Are you referring to the waterboarding in the prisons?
The difference is that those who are getting waterboarded in prisons do not know if they are going to be rescued or not. I also think that the 'procedure' takes longer than just 40 seconds.
Every second they have the feeling to get finally drowned. And I assume that some are really drowned when they do not give the expected answers.
And besides the interrogators are asking for 'answers' many do not have, or give answers just to get rescued.
It is different if a physician and a psychiatrist are standing by ensuring your rescue.

The one who starts is the guilty one, even with insulting language. I dislike it immensely when people run out of ideas to defend their stance, the personal attacks, taken out of the blue, set in, like
'take your meds' or 'take your Xanax', or 'chill out.'
This puts them immediately into the loser position.
Or they become all of a sudden 'Grammar Nazis', because they run out of choices to prove their points, whereas these are mostly just TYPOS.
Or do you follow the Christian rule:
'If somebody slaps you on your right cheek, offer him also your left cheek.'

New movie...
out on Edward R. Murrow and his taking McCarthy on. I have seen a couple of clips where he says, journalists are supposed to maintain impartiality, but Senator McCarthy, enough is enough. The movie is unapologetically one-sided (ours) but even so, wouldn't it be wonderful to have some real journalists working for real editors whose companies are not owned by 1 conservative conglomerate and who have real freedom of speech.

It was a long time ago, I think I probably saw it after it came out on video. She was a huffer too, right? I just may have to get it again. I do remember it being rather funny and witty. I like her (Laura Dern), she chooses interesting roles doesn't she?

That is ONE movie
ONE, ONLY ONE... What happened to all the "oh so many movies" made about the killings of homosexuals. AND Matthew Shepherd was killed because he was trying to rob his killers. They were punished and well they should have been.
Consider that according to the latest FBI statistics, out of 1.4 million violent crimes in 2007; there were a mere 247 cases of aggravated assault (including five deaths) reportedly motivated by the victim's sexual orientation or gender identity. There is zero evidence to suggest that, where appropriate, perpetrators were not prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in every instance.
The movie No End In Sight...Thank you Kam!! s/m
Netflix has a two week completely free trial period, which I signed up for the other day. One of the movies I looked for was No End In Sight. It can be sent via mail or instant access on your PC which is also included in the free trial. I decided tonight to view it on my pc. All I can say about the film is that I was completely rivited by it from beginning to end. It is truly an exceptional film. I had seen Fahrenheit 911 a few years ago, and was not really that impressed with it. I cannot say that about this film. It was exceptional! Many thanks Kam for the recommendation about No End In Sight!!

When word of this gets out, Ruth gets caught in the middle of a tug-of-war between Pro-Lifers and Pro-Choicers who want to use Ruth to get their messages across.
If you have a good sense of humor you will definitely enjoy this movie.!

Just because Farrakhan calls Obama the 'messiah' does not mean that anyone who may consider voting for him calls him that as well. Actually I find the term blasphemous (no matter WHO it comes from), and I know that with the intelligent people who post their opinions here could not be that narrow minded. As far as a 'horror movie' - the last eight years of our lives has indeed been that; unfortunately it is all too real and many have suffered because of it. Greedy politicians and their ilk have been robbing us blind even before anyone knew who Obama was, and for Lord knows for how long we will CONTINUE to suffer because we have been so complacent and passive. Pitiful.

It's about a guy that looks like the President and when the real President has a heart attack while with his mistress, he gets hired to pretend to be the President. He then starts making all these changes - including a terrific budget-cutting scene you'll just love! Great, great movie.

Great movie! I saw it last year...
I highly recommend those who haven't seen it to do so. It is a real eye opener. For those that have always thought there was something fishy going on the in the car/fuel story it is great affirmation, and for those who never realized it, it will make a believer out of you!

it should be No End In Sight. I started a thread below about the movie, but that was before it had come out on DVD, and I had not seen it yet. I watched it tonight, and it was beyond informative. It features interviews with "high ranking officials such as former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, Ambassador Barbara Bodine (in charge of Baghdad during the Spring of 2003), Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell, and General Jay Garner (in charge of the occupation of Iraq through May 2003) as well as Iraqi civilians, American soldiers, and prominent analysts."
I learned so much that I have never seen featured on any news program, and the information is coming directly from the "horse's mouth." I don't believe that even the most die-hard Bush supporter will find much in the way of inaccurate facts, as much of the information is coming directly from people who were actually a part of the Bush Administration. If you are at all interested, I urge you to click on the link below, which is the site for the movie.
