We've been struggling to pay the bills with 2 incomes! sm

My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary on Sunday the 14th. We were actually better off financially as 21-year-old newlyweds than we are today. My husband pulled hiw wallet out on Sunday and began to flip through the few dollar bills he had when he said, "Do you realize I had more money in wallet the day we got married than I do today?" The poor guy was up sick most of the night and vomited all morning. I told him he couldn't go to work that sick and he said that he had to. He has no more vacation time left, we haven't even started shopping for our daughter yet with Christmas eve less than a week away.

Financially, this is the worst Christmas I have ever had. I don't know how anyone is supposed to "feel blessed" and "share the love," when I'm so stressed out from working so much OT and robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Sorry I have to stop here. I'll come back and try to finish.

Would you believe AT&T just called to let me know my phones are scheduled to be disconnected tonight at midnight? Ironic, isn't it??

"God Bless Us Every One!"

We can't be quick enough. You've seen how they're passing enormous bills -
- that they don't even read within a matter of hours. First the stimulus, then the tax bill on executive bonuses, etc.

Meanwhile, it's taken them over six months to investigate some very straightforward charges against Charlie Rangel.

CORRUPT!
On individual incomes exceeding $250,000.
To restore funding for longstanding program commitments slashed, diverted and/or discontinued to fund the war. He cannot create "MORE" programs without majority support from Congress. Should he be able to garner such support, then we would call that representative democratic process, not socialist/Marxist black liberationist theology.
and what about people on fixed incomes who don't have mortgages
What if all this triggers inflation and screws them?
A lot of people are struggling
right now.  Jobs security is a thing of the past.  People losing their jobs.  Jobs being shipped elsewhere.  Gas prices going up.  Unexpected medical expenses.  It all does add up.  I just cannot vote for a man who wants to hike taxes and give my well earned money to people who won't try and help themselves.  These so called plans to take money from hard working Americans to give to the poor is just enabling them to remain lazy and poor.  I have healthcare.  I pay out the ying yang for it and the deductible isn't great, but I have healthcare.  I work for a living.  I don't smoke.  I rarely drink.  You have these morbidly obese, beer drinking, smokers who sit around and cry and whine about not having healthcare.  They don't have money for medicine for their kids.  But good golly they've got a 6-pack of beer in the fridge and a 3 dollar pack of cigs on the counter.  This is what chaps my @ss!
Our country is struggling right now

because we are divided.  I am not voting for Obama but it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.  Are there people out there unwilling to give him a chance because he is black....yes.....but there are also people who are voting for him just because he is black and that is just as racist.  It goes on both sides.  You can't blame one side for racism without pointing it out on the other side as well.

As for Obama being a breath of fresh air....I'm sorry but I do not see it that way.  Obama may have started at the bottom and worked to the top and he is living proof of the American dream but now that he has achieved that, he wants to take that away from the rest of us because the more we make, the more he will take from us and give to low-income people....including ones who don't work at all.  That isn't fair.  I want to be able to work hard, earn a good living, and bring up my own status so I too can live the American dream.  Obama will crush that dream.

I value your opinion and you expressed yourself very well, but you can't say that we are all racist for not voting for Obama.  I have very legit concerns and reasons why I won't vote for Barrack Obama and none of them are because of his color of skin.  In all honesty, I truly wouldn't have a problem at all having a black man or woman for president.....I just don't think Barrack Obama is the right person for the job.

Couple struggling with finances

This is so sad and happening all too often. Granted there are things he could do to cut his expenses, but at age 70, he should not have to work and struggle like he is. Taxes are killing everyone. In our state we even have a tax that I call the "right to breathe."

Look at your bills. There are federal
"excise" taxes on just about everything you mentioned.
Mixed feelings - Bills speech was excellent.
To be honest I didn't watch her speech - refused to. I didn't feel like listening to her talk about me, me, me and how she feels she really won. So - in all fairness I don't know whether it was a good speech or not. What I have read about her speech is that someone said she said the party needs to be united and support Barack. I read another article that said she didn't do anything to unite the party. And I read another article that said Hillary's speech was a blow to the campaign and because of it Baracks ratings have dropped. I read all of this on the drudge page and I do believe there are both liberals and conservatives there, but I could be wrong. In honesty I can't tell you what I thought of it, and I think my hatred for her really is not fair to her but it does make me biased against anything she has to say.

On the other hand - I thought I hated Bill Clinton more than I did her and I was planning to refuse to listen to his speech tonight, however, found myself to curious so I did listen. Once he got past the praising Hillary & his presidency (which he didn't do as much as I thought he would) I actually thought his speech was very good. Well thought out and I thoroughly enjoyed it and my opinion of him has definitely changed (we just won't tell my mother-in-law - think she'd have a seizure- ha ha ha).

Bill Clinton for the first time finally came out backing Barack and listed the reasons why we need Barack as president, and why he is the right choice. He was sincere, intelligent, and I actually enjoyed his speech.

I have heard that Bill Clinton has planned that he is not going to be there tomorrow when Barack walks out to give his acceptance speech he is going to leave (I guess a protest that Hillary didn't get picked), but after his speech tonight I wonder if that was just a rumor. Time will tell.

I still think he was a horrible horrible present for 8 years (one of the worst presidents in history), but tonight he showed a different side to him and I give him credit for that.
GOP Pays Legal Bills in Vote-Thwart Case

By JOHN SOLOMON, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - The Republican Party says it still has a zero-tolerance policy for tampering with voters even as it pays the legal bills for a former Bush campaign official charged with conspiring to thwart Democrats from voting in New Hampshire.

James Tobin, the president's 2004 campaign chairman for New England, is charged in New Hampshire federal court with four felonies accusing him of conspiring with a state GOP official and a GOP consultant in Virginia to jam Democratic and labor union get-out-the-vote phone banks in November 2002.

The Republican National Committee already has spent more than $722,000 to provide Tobin, who has pleaded innocent, a team of lawyers from the high-powered Washington law firm of Williams & Connolly. The firm's other clients have included former President Clinton and Sen. Hillary Clinton and former Housing Secretary Henry Cisneros.

Republican Party officials said they don't ordinarily discuss specifics of their legal work, but confirmed to The Associated Press they had agreed to underwrite Tobin's defense because he was a longtime supporter and that he assured them he had committed no crimes.

"Jim is a longtime friend who has served as both an employee and an independent contractor for the RNC," a spokeswoman for the RNC, Tracey Schmitt, said Wednesday. "This support is based on his assurance and our belief that Jim has not engaged in any wrongdoing."

A telephone firm was paid to make repeated hang-up phone calls to overwhelm the phone banks in New Hampshire and prevent them from getting Democratic voters to the polls on Election Day 2002, prosecutors allege. Republican John Sununu won a close race that day to be New Hampshire's newest senator.

At the time, Tobin was the RNC's New England regional director, before moving to President Bush's 2004 re-election campaign.

A top New Hampshire Party official and a GOP consultant already have pleaded guilty and cooperated with prosecutors. Tobin's indictment accuses him of specifically calling the GOP consultant to get a telephone firm to help in the scheme.

"The object of the conspiracy was to deprive inhabitants of New Hampshire and more particularly qualified voters ... of their federally secured right to vote," states the latest indictment issued by a federal grand jury on May 18.

The Republican Party has repeatedly and pointedly disavowed any tactics aimed at keeping citizens from voting since allegations of voter suppression surfaced during the Florida recount in 2000 that tipped the presidential race to Bush.

Earlier this week, RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, the former White House political director, reiterated a "zero-tolerance policy" for any GOP official caught trying to block legitimate votes.

"The position of the Republican National Committee is simple: We will not tolerate fraud; we will not tolerate intimidation; we will not tolerate suppression. No employee, associate or any person representing the Republican Party who engages in these kinds of acts will remain in that position," Mehlman wrote Monday to a group that studied voter suppression tactics.

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean on Thursday questioned Mehlman's commitment to the policy. "This is just another example of his say one thing, do another strategy. Ken Mehlman tells crowds his party is against voter fraud and intimidation, while in the backrooms he supports Republican officials who engage in these dirty tricks," Dean said.

Dennis Black and Dane Butswinkas, two Williams & Connolly lawyers for Tobin, did not return calls seeking comment. Brian Tucker, a New Hampshire lawyer on the team, declined comment.

Tobin's lawyers have attacked the prosecution, suggesting evidence was improperly introduced to the grand jury, that their client originally had been promised he wouldn't be indicted and that he was improperly charged under one of the statutes.

Tobin stepped down from his Bush-Cheney post a couple of weeks before the November 2004 election after Democrats suggested he was involved in the phone bank scheme. He was charged a month after the election.

Paul Twomey, a volunteer lawyer for New Hampshire Democrats who are pursuing a separate lawsuit involving the phone scheme, said he was surprised the RNC was willing to pay Tobin's legal bills and that it suggested more people may be involved.

The new development "really raises the questions of who are they protecting, how high does this go and who was in on this," Twomey said.

Federal prosecutors have secured testimony from the two convicted conspirators in the scheme directly implicating Tobin.

Charles McGee, the New Hampshire GOP official who pleaded guilty, told prosecutors he informed Tobin of the plan and asked for Tobin's help in finding a vendor who could make the calls that would flood the phone banks.

Allen Raymond, a former colleague of Tobin who operated a Virginia-based telephone services firm, told prosecutors Tobin called him in October 2002, explained the telephone plan and asked Raymond's company to help McGee implement it.

Raymond's lawyer told the court that Tobin made the request for help in his official capacity as the top RNC official for New England and his client believed the RNC had sanctioned the activity.

Can't chew gum. Would've if I could've.

Even got hypnotized. Supposedly guaranteed to quit. Lasted 5 hours. Thank heavens I never smoked anything stronger.

Something I've got to say

I left this board a while back for a period of time due to the harassing emails I was getting from the former owner of this site.  It finally stopped when I told her that in the 10 years I had had email service I had never received such harassing or threatening emails and come to think of it, prior to her emails to me I had never received ANY harassing or threatening emails.  I told her if they didn't stop that I would find the proper resources to report her conduct.  She was angry because myself and two other posters were emailing to each other upset about the rampant deletion of liberal posts.  Apparently when we used the initial MTstars email form she was reading them.  In the course of her emailing me she also told one very obvious and easily discovered lie.  The whole thing was creepy.

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Yes, I certainly would. I've seen a lot of sm
so-called religious people do some very non-religious things.  Remember, an atheist does not believe in Satan or worship the devil either, it just means that they do not believe in God, any God.  Also, they may perhaps just not believe in organized religion.
You really believe that? Hey, I've got a really - sm
cool-looking, orange-colored bridge in San Francisco I'll sell ya really CHEAP. It's a little old and rusty, but polish it up a little, and you could probably resell it on ebay and make yourself a tidy profit. And profit's what you guys are all about, right?
Well, I've had it. sm

The hate that flies on this board is absolutely unbearable. I came to this board to compare issues of both parties and what do I see? A few people trying to give facts and get bombarded with HATE. I feel sorry for them and so CHILDISH.

What is worse is that some posters are falling into the trap by answering with just as hateful messages.

I am going happily on my way to find another place to compare issues and it WON'T BE WITH TRASH MEDIA as some are trying to force down my throat.

My mind has probably been made up for this election and I certainly won't be voting for Obama since I've seen some posters spew their hate against the republicans, although I do like Biden.

It's a shame.

That's what I've been trying to do --

gain information.  It's very difficult to get accurate information without all the slams.  Any suggestions on good websites to review these topics of interest and what each candidate's stand is on each?  I've started watching CNN.  I have to admit, I was really a Hillary supporter and now that Obama's on the ticket instead, I just don't know which evil is worse.  I thank you for your input and I will continue to delve into this mess until I can come up with my own conclusion.  I'm just trying to gain information from all angles, not relying on just 1 opinion.  I asked the question below of everyone, but no one responded.

Does no one know the answer?  Is it ridiculous of me to think that the resolution to this crisis should not dig into my pockets?  I personally feel that the people who got those bonuses should be made to give them back, that they should be paying fines to offset this mess since they were the ones cooking the books for the bonuses.

Yes, and that is exactly what I've been saying
one is no better than the other.
that's the best you've got?

Old story, and not an impressive one. I don't like hearing any story like that, ever.  It's no better than Clinton, but wasn't it the Dems who said that personal "affairs" were just about sex and meant nothing?  We don't know if Biden cheated or not, do we?  I don't know, but I hope not.

The Obama-Ayers-Wright-Pfleger (and on and on) affairs are far more detrimental to this country, so wake up and smell the coffee.

Can't say as I've ever used that one.
I guess she could have used terminology from Scooby Doo episodes.  Jinkies, Mr. Biden.  LOL.
That's because that's all you know....they've been
call it racism. Why do you think Obama will get the majority black votes? Because they think for themselves? Please... I have a black neighbor who says too many blacks have been led around by the nose by people like Jesse Jackson, AL Sharpon, and now says this Judas Barry Obama is showing up. She is not so easily fooled but she feels like her race has been sold down the river by this man. Instead of encouraging them, he wants to give them more handouts and keep them down, so they can continue to feel "entitled" becaues of their color.

Too bad so many others are.
LOL Now you've really done it!!!
Added everything I love.  I grew up on this chow and swore when I was "growed up" I would never eat it again.  Guess what?  I'll take that stuff over steak any day of the week.  Now I gotta make a Sweet 'tater pie!!!!  Didn't get anything to eat, we were planning for cooking for the re-enactment group that will be doing their re-enactment here the first weekend in Dec.
Is that all you've got?
I read the board, I read the blogs, I watch TV, I listen to my relatives. So yes, I think that gives me a good idea.
Yes, he has. Where've you been?
Do you think the Dems would've let him run if he could be disqualified? Do you think McCain wouldn't have made it front and center if his high-paid dirt-diggers could've found ANYTHING? Just because you wish it to be true doesn't make it true.
Like i've said before
Anyone who didn't have their heads in the clouds, drinking the kool-aid, out of fear, or just flat out ignorant could have seen him for what he really was loooong before now. Whites have done what is right, but make no mistake, I owe no one anything and never did.

There are many racists who will take this opportunity to exploit everything.......sadly enough Obama has gotten right in line with them. When you start using MY taxes to pay for "projects" and you say what color the people have to be that work on those projects, there is a word for that.

Just keep tuned.....his true colors are there
I probably would. I've been there and like it.
Trade houses? LOL
sm....You've go to know that....
You've got to know that I have truly BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, or I would be keeping my mouth/fingers shut/quiet - lol!  On my 18th birthday, I moved out of home.  I have a military dad (marine) and no longer wanted to live a military-style household.....so I left.  I did not have a place to go, so stayed with my cousins for a bit.  I ended up moving into a duplex with a friend of my cousin's husband - I did not even know the guy.  We split rent on this duplex and worked opposite shifts...so it was like each of us having our own place.  I was really "full of myself" because I was working FT with my own place to stay....so I went a little crazy on the "partying," and ended up pregnant myself, just a few months after leaving home.  I WAS ON BIRTH CONROL PILLS, but antibiotics I was on at the time had contradicted the efficacy of my BCPs.  Shortly after suspecting (but without confirmation) I was pregnant, my roomate and I had a disagreement and he threw me out!  I was then homeless and most likely pregnant.  I went to the Health Department and got a free pregnancy test, and my hypothesis was confirmed.  So....I was HOMELESS and PREGNANT and had been on BIRTH CONTROL pills.  I could have gotten a FREE ABORTION on your TAX PAYER DOLLARS but, instead, I got a second job, applied for food stamps, found a cheap apartment in a bad part of town, and had my baby.  I then worked my way up to bigger and better things, but I did not take the EASY WAY OUT and ABORT/KILL my baby.  People are soooo lazy!!!  The easy way - or no way at all.....is how most people look at life these days.  Our forefathers worked the earth to provide food....but everyone today wants that quick burger or veggie fix - no time to waste.  WHEN I WAS ON BCP'S, I STILL COULD HAVE USED A SECONDARY FORM OF PROTECTION!!!  There is not a single person in this forum that was not given a WARNING about the RISK OF PREGNANCY WHILE ON BIRTH CONTROL PILLS when you got your prescription.  Sorry.....but everyone's "sob stories" over trying to JUSTIFY ABORTION are truly PATHETIC.  I am sorry for your daughter, but she apparently overcame, and now you have a BEAUTIFUL and WONDERFUL grandchild that may one day grow up to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!  Why would anyone want to ABORT something like that?  (P.S.  I had a very hard time with my second pregnancy also, and raised two children WITHOUT CHILD SUPPORT, but I will not go into that story at this time.  I have been "advised" by others to have abortions, but chose to preserve my morality and continue to regard life as PRECIOUS.  Life is not a BED OF ROSES.)
I'm m......... I've always been m...... sm
and I'll always be m. I don't mind getting slammed for my beliefs...I'm kind of used to it. LOL
Thank you!!! - that's what I've been trying to say
Some people have no clue though. They think if Obama is doing it, it's okay. They don't care about right or wrong. I'm truly disgusted that our tax money is going to fund their parties for their own pleasure. Especially since everyone who attends their parties are rich enough they could pay for it themselves, but instead they use our money.

I've been researching trying to find anything that says they are paying for it themselves, but not finding anything. I found something about a white house budget, but again that budget is funded by taxpayers money.

Since it's my taxpaying money you bet I've got a problem with how they are spending it. Especially in these hard times and what America is going through.

What was it Marie Antoinette said "If they have no bread let them eat cake". I'm starting to see a similarity here.
You've got some of it right
I am prior military and this is the way it works.

Pentagon asks the President for the okay to proceed. The president simply states yay or nay. When you say "outlining a mission" if you are referring to the actual planning of it, no the President does not have anything to do with the plans, but he is informed by the leaders of how the scenario will work out and then he agrees or not. The military leaders are the ones who create the plan and enforce it (complete the action).

The problem with what happened during the Bush years was that Bush trusted the wrong people. When he was told by a group of people that this was there or that was there, he believed them and did not question. One thing that was learned from that was to question everything.

But a lot of people are under the mistaken identity that the president sits and plans the mission out with the military leaders, and he does not. He listens to them and then just okays it.
Seriously? That is the best you've got?
How very, very pathetic.
I've always said................ sm
Yank that Golden Fleece Retirement Plan and see how fast they get things fixed. Chances are slim to none that that will ever happen, but a person can dream.
I've said this before and I will say it again.

It seems to me that liberals are the ones crying and whining abour their rights.  Just like people telling government to stay out of their uteruses.  You didn't seem to have a problem with hospitals and doctors' rights when they were taken away when they were forbidden to refuse performing abortions.  You didn't have a problem with those rights being taken away.  You complain about Christians taking rights away from others.  We are the ones who aren't allowed to pray in public without fear of being made fun or just outright attacked these days.  But for you to say that we are the ones who have no problems taking away rights from others when you liberals have no problems taking away rights of other people as long as you get your way.......talk about your double standards.

These people were not forcing others to listen to their Bible study.  There is no reason why they can't have Bible study in a private home.

You kept complaining about conservatives wanting revenge against terrorists and that is why we are for enhanced interrogation but here yourself you say that you normally would have sympathy but because of their group doing things you don't agree with, you have no sympathy.  Is this revenge on your part?  This group doesn't believe like you and doesn't agree with a liberal agenda and so therefore it is okay for them to be attacked for having a Bible study in a private home?  Once again....double standards.

I don't think we've gone as far

He may not be prosecuted, but if the person who placed that ad can be identified,  he's in for a very thorough federal proctological exam.

I've seen...
similar figures here and there and considering the era probably correct as anyone can guesstimate. I wasn't completely understanding the thread initially (short on time), now I do. Thanks.
Now you've done it.....LOL..(sm)
They'll be getting the pitchforks and guns right about now.
As I've said before - you really don't want to
But, more to the point, Republicans haven't been interested in what goes on in anyone else's bedroom for a very long time, so this author needs to wake up and smell the coffee. This isn't just "old hat" stuff - it's completely moldy - and besides, isn't this author getting into the Governor's bedroom habits? Doh!

Both Democrats and Republicans need to hold our leaders up to standards that at least meet the test of decency.
You've never debated

you've just slammed Bush and anyone who likes Bush.  Point to one thread where you've debated someone like an adult without resorting to the worlds idiots puke and other assorted adjectives up to and including curses words to slam Bush and people who like him?

GT I've noticed something
the more you get your hackles up your limited vocabulary becomes that much more limited.
I've moderated nothing

I've only broken it down to the simplest form to try and make you understand.  We're having a debate which makes any political board interesting, and I'm not the least bit angry at you all, but you all seem very angry with me.  It's really sad that adults can't come to opposing viewpoint boards and have civil conversations. It really is quite boring.   It really shows what a sad state are culture is in.  Our culture endorses immaturity and touchy feelings which is quite sad.  I'll wander back to the other boards I frequent where people manage to debate (most of the time) without getting all snitty at the people with opposing viewpoints.

God bless....

No! You've got it all wrong!!

Bush has the utmost respect for the media.  Why, if it wasn't for the media, Bush wouldn't even have known that he's been selected for jury duty.  (Of course, he's got expertise in getting out of things requiring *duty* to his country, so he won't be Juror #200-whatever this time around.  The good news is the no court will have to suffer through Bush's *judgments,* which leads me back to Iraq.

Bush would never do anything to impede freedom of speech.  He wants all Iraqis to have freedom of speech.  He loves freedom of speech (except maybe for that time he wanted to blow up Al Jazeera, before Blair talked him out of it).

And Bush would NEVER condone paying for what's nothing more than propaganda promoting something he thinks is good (except maybe for that time he paid radio talk show host Armstrong Williams $241,000 to promote the *No Child Left Behind* program on his radio show).

Hmmmmmmmmm... MY BAD.  You don't have it wrong at all.  Matter of fact, you're right on the money!

Looks like you've been swiftboated, PK
It's sad, really, but perhaps you did strike a nerve, as independent thinking is a dangerous threat to little brains who rely on shrieking bubble heads such as Coulter to do their thinking for them. Well let's read a few Coulter quotes, shall we?

**We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.**

**When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors.***

COULTER: I take the biblical idea. God gave us the earth.

PETER FENN (Democratic strategist): Oh, OK.

COULTER: We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees.

FENN: This is a great idea.

COULTER: God says, Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours.

FENN: Terrific. We're Americans, so we should consume as much of the earth's resources...

COULTER: Yes! Yes.

FENN: ... as fast as we possibly can.

COULTER: As opposed to living like the Indians.

Oh you've seen pictures!!!

Well, there's the proof then!!!!

I think Lamont won a primary in a state where if I'm not mistaken tends to be a blue state.  I think there's still and election to be held.  He'll probably win, because as you stated above.  If a state tends to go Democrat or Republican they will tend to go that way again.  I believe the polarization has reached such a point that the liberal states will become even more left, and the right states will become more right.  There were a few pesky little states in the presidential election that went to republicans that usually go to democrats, but presidential elections are not always cut and dry like Senate and House elections tend to be.

yes.......I've been following this for years......
So many people in this country don't have a clue what freebies are being handed out. I have seen in my own work doctors questioning how a person who has been in this country for over 30 years, can't speak English at all, and manage to get SSI even. They bring an INTERPRETOR with them when asked questions and then beat around the bush when asked what jobs they have held down, while they sit in the doctor's office complaining they can't work because of disabilities. Yea right!!!! The doctor knows they are here illegally but what can he/she do?
When you look at the gangs in Los Angeles alone, 80 thousand plus, all Latino gangs, illegal from other countries, Mexico, El Salvador, etc., walking the streets, terrorizing the neighborhoods, and we pay for more officers to patrol the streets and get this, they have to ask permission from these thugs to "document" their tattooes, as each tattoo has some gang meaning. 80,000 plus gangs in one city alone. WHat happens when you have these many illegals running the show in a city, you have chaos and fear, the same thing they are doing on the border towns in the U.S., terrorizing citizens, running the show, and we sit around worrying about their rights? What rights? They have no rights? If we would stop quivering like a bunch of babies, go out and round them up like the jackasses they are, and find a way to get rid of them. If their countries won't take them back, and why would they want them either, why should we house and feed their sorry butts. I live in the deep south and we are hearing of them actually branching out their gangs to come into the south because they believe people in the south are dumb and slow and they can infiltrate the area to do their drug dealing and go undetected. I have news for them.....they haven't been on the interstate near our town lately. DEA sits all over the place waiting to stop truckers carrying illegals as well as the drugs they carry and they have already stopped major drug trafficking in this area. It sickens me. I have no pity for people who have no care for human life, only greed of money any way they can get it. They laugh at us....we open up a major thoroughfare from Mexico into the US for truckers and don't think they will use this as a green flag for illegal trafficking of all kinds? We are to blame for not putting an end to it, however that may need to be.

you said exactly what I've been thinking
The democratic party needs to kick the Clintons out. They need to tell them they are dividing the party. I've heard many people say there are actually 3 parties. The democrats, republicans, and the Clintons. And that is no joke. I don't know where they came from but they only surfaced about 16 years ago when Billy ran and now they are like a virus. I wish the Dems had some "cahonas" and just told Bill & Hillary they are not wanted in the democratic party and they remove them. They have not done anything good for the party. As for saying Hillary inspires woman - oh please - there are tons more women in poltics who are aspiring. The only thing Hillary inspires are the liars and cheats. And I'd like to rip their fingers off. Didn't their mother's ever teach them it's rude to point to people.
so, I've never had a passport.

I've been in your shoes.....sm
Last year, when a raging wildfire was two miles on the other side of our small town here in Montana, our local sheriff's dept from 60 miles away, came at 2 a.m. to knock on our door and give us a mandatory evacuation.

We chose to stay and hunker down, as you mention. The fire could have roared through here during the night, and my husband and I would have been goners. But that was our choice, at the time, and no one else could make that choice for us, or help us any more than they had. We stayed for the entire month, until it was out, as we chose to.

Part of the problem seems to be your local government and local media. You should think and do for you and your family what needs to be done, what you feel needs to be done. You shouldn't take it out on the people on this board, if they do not understand exactly what you mean.

And if you're so upset by media blitz on the election coverage, you should take it up with your local govt once things calm down after the storm, and tell them how neglected you feel during all of this. They are the ones that should be helping you, and are not.

And please be safe. Even though you think the conservatives on this board could care less, that's the furthest thing from the truth. You must do what you need to do. And getting angry at people here, doesn't help your situation, and takes away from what you ability to make decisions to help your family, right there where you are. This board isn't what's important. You and your family are.

Be safe.

Yep, you've got it all right. Take a pill.

I've had jobs since the day I was old enough to
even though there were times I could barely scrape together 2 cents to buy something I or my family needed. Yes, jobs are pretty easy to get, if you don't think you're "above" working at a gas station, McDonald's - whatever it takes. There are plenty of people who use social programs in lieu of finding a job. I see it all the time. They milk the system, if you don't admit that, you're in denial. I don't believe for one minute that the hard-working people in the country that make decent money should have to pay for these people. I have no problem with programs for those who truly need it, but if you were truly to examine most of the recipients of these programs, a good lot of them are abusing it. I worked in a law office where I saw this and I worked in medical offices where I saw this. The sad reality is that those who milk the system are darn good at it and REAP the benefits, but the people who truly need welfare, disability, etc., fight for sometimes YEARS and never receive benefits.

I think it's highly tacky of you to insinuate that the only way Whoopie could've attained her success is by using social programs. That is a borderline racist remark, IMO. Would you say that about a successful white actress? Hmmmph.
You've got to be kidding
How exactly does that happen, one giving birth to their own biological children because of heterosexual relationships? Course gay men need to inseminate an agreeable friend or other woman to have their own biological children, but lesbians have no trouble at all conceiving, generally speaking. Thinking that gay people have no reproductive organs by design (and you would have to think this in order to believe that we cannot have our own children) and thinking that heterosexual relationships are responsible for "providing" us children is beyond ignorant. Beliefs such as these as well as those whose minds think gay marriage and automatically make a leap to marrying animals scare the h3ll out of me. As I said before, they call US weird/sick/.

The only way children are born into this world is through C-section or through the womb and lesbians have those too. You don't need to be part of a heterosexual relationship to become pregnant, or for a man, to inseminate someone else. There's a frozen pop for everyone (and I suppose you think all those are from heterosexual men too?).

I can't believe I'm even arguing this. That's it for me. No wonder we're where we are with this issue. Scary.
