With the exception of accusing me of making this a racial issue,

yeah (head dropping), I admit it.  I'd rather love than hate.  I don't own rose-colored glasses or lovebeads, but I may just go and buy some, now that you mention it.  I realize that's not how you prefer to live your life, but if you could just let go of some the anger and hatred, you'd be carrying around a much lighter load.

RACIAL ISSUE????? This is what you wrote (in case you deny it later again):  Now you are trying to make this a racial issue. Next, you will say more blacks were killed in Vietnam than whites and it was all PLANNED!  What a crock of lumpy brown stuff.

Out of that entire article, you got RACIAL ISSUE??????

Once again, you take something you IMAGINE in that twisted brain of yours, accept it as TRUTH and then ATTACK that fabricated truth, accusing me of saying more blacks were purposely killed in Vietnam, when the thought never crossed my mind.  (Although I DO have to wonder how it got inside YOURS.)

As far as the truth, that's the only thing I DO want:  The truth.  I haven't gotten it from this president and I'm sure as heck not getting it from you and your buds.

Have a lovely evening.

You are making it an issue
You are trying to defend Merv Griffin when no one said anything bad about him or that he was not a conservative.  All that was stated was what he commented about the vote, nothing more or less.  You are reading much more into it than I ever intended.  Dont waste your time looking up more information about Merv, who cares?  His comment is what his comment was.  Goodness, LOL.  Dustin Hoffman also made a comment on Letterman that the democrats taking over the House and Senate was a historic day.  It was a comment nothing more.  I must state, though, that the audience also clapped, whistled, cheered when Dustin said that.
You are the one making an issue (sm)

out of his middle name.  So what if someone posts his middle name?  What do YOU have to be worried about?  It appears that she cut and pasted an article written by someone else.  Had you not written a huge post about the name *Hussein,* many would not have even given it a second thought.

You are just like McCain... accusing others of what YOU do
dip
Here we have a fringe flock constituent accusing Colin Powell
with a straight face and seriously expecting us to buy into this psycho-babble. The only people you are scaring with this trash is each other.
With the exception of GP
I'll agree with you. GP and I have had some good debates, but I think she's stubborn and set in her ways :). I do believe she is one of the only ones that will come back and eat crow if Obama wins and drives this country off a cliff. The other ones will praise him all the way to the fire.
I have to take a small exception....
I understand why there was no half staff declaration for Katrina victims and there was for VA Tech. There is a difference in a natural disaster, where loss of life is expected to some degree (not condoned, not accepted, but expected) and a crazy going nuts and murdering 32 people in a heinous horrible bloodbath. I can see why the half-staff for VTech. There has never, as far as I have known, been half-staff for victims of natural disaster, and Hurricane Andrew killed many as well. Although there was no paper half-staff declaration, I did hear personally on many occasions President Bush use some of the same words in talking about the Katrina victims...and he did declare a national day of remembrance for the Katrina victims, which he did not do for the VA Tech victims.
We know that is the exception rather than the rule....
and I sympathize with your plight....however, it is acceptable to abort (kill) 1.2 million babies a year to cover those few who are resistant to all forms of birth control? Okay, so if we add women who are resistant to every form of birth control, women who have been raped or involved in incest, or life is endangered by continuing the pregnancy....that would still probably be roughly 25%-30% of all abortions performed. So why can't we legalize it only for those cases? Why do we have to use it as a relieve-all-responsibility oops form of birth control because some women/men take absolutely NO responsibility where sex is concerned? why can't we address the issues that cause 1.2 million unwanted pregnancies every year? Assign some responsibility? What is so terribly wrong with that??

And finally...why can't people admit what it is. It is killing babies. That is the choice everyone wants. To say it is a blob of cells or tissue is not accurate. And even if that WAS true, it is alive, and would continue to live and grow if it was not killed. If you have been pregnant you know at what stage you feel the fluttering of movement and there is no doubt in the mind of a mother who wants her child that that child is alive inside her. So now we are supposed to believe that it is whether the woman WANTS the child or not that determines whether it is alive?
Exception to the rule
You are so right. I think people are so blown away by Sarah Palin because she is a politician that actually does what she says. What a novel idea! How refreshing.
I think you are the exception to the rule then, and I...
commend you for holding feet to the fire. Would that there were more like you. Money hungry greed may have brought us here...but it was lack of oversight that allowed it. Some saw it coming, called it by name and were ignored. You seem to be opened minded to a degree and you have seen what McCain said in 2006. He described the situation we are in to a tee. He warned them, as did Allen Greenspan, as did John Snow. He had it right, and he was ignored. Say what you want about him...he had that right and the Dems on the banking and finance committee had it wrong. And because of that mistake, here we are. I would be much more willing to cut slack if they would own up to their part in it and strive to do better. But they STILL want to blame Republicans totally and accept absolutely NO blame. I'm sorry, oldtimer. That is dishonest and morally bankrupt in my opinion.
exception proves the rule

do that phase strike a familiar note?

With the glaring exception of several posters on this board...
who don't get it and aren't anywhere near the plate. That being said...I gave Obama kudos immediately. He did step up and in an aggressive way. Good for him.
Was that a racial remark!!!!!
!
The racial imbalance....

IMHO is directly related to the fatherlessness in the African-American community.  It would be nice to blame it on bigotry or any other host of things, but the lack of responsible parenting and good example setting for education and honest hard work (which leads to success in life) is sorely lacking in that community.  It's very sad.

I thought he was bi-racial
I wish his parents were alive.
Racial predjucide.........
The following is from a pdf file of sermon from Barack Hussein Obama’s "spiritual mentor" as published in October 2003 issue of the Trinity United Church of Christ’s publication, "The Trumpet." (Published by the Reverend’s daughter.)

The sermon is really a wide ranging diatribe which includes, among other things, calls for US divestiture in Israel. But even amidst the Reverend’s many crackpot and racist statements, this one jumped out:

A Message From our PASTOR, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., Senior Pastor

In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just “disappeared” as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns.

Again, Reverend Wright is the man that Mr. Obama claims got him interested in politics. He speaks of him as his political father and even his surrogate father.

Naw, Obama ain't prejudice!

He just loves to hang out with those that are.....right!!
I won't argue the racial part. sm
I agree with that.  But you don't need to bring politics into it.  You lose all credibility and, as I said, you lessen this little girl's death by using your own agenda.  Try to focus on the tragedy and the fact that our society needs a major overhaul.
How little do you know? Nazi's are racial purists
nm
Nothing racial at all in her post unless your mind put it there (sm)
I know plenty of white people in the situations she described above...was one of them when I was a child.  And you know what, for many of the people in these programs, she is right they could work.  One of my sisters is legitimately disabled and the other one just wants to sit on her butt, read love stories all day and cry poor mouth.  They're all white.  I don't see anything racist about that post at all, unless that is what you think yourself.
inappropriate racial remarks
I agree Terri - that remark was extremely unappropriate and does not belong here, and unfortunately such a remark can be attributed to ignorance and hatred - which DEFINITELY DOES NOT BELONG HERE.
Do you even see how you took this post and made it into a racial epithet?
gt, I would recommend an immediate self-examination as to your thought processes.
Racial hatred. Yeah, like anyone who questions O
nm
It had no racial undertones, but to call O a clown and to
apologize to all clowns is really gross, especially when there is no justification for that, at least not yet.
I made no racial comments, only saw the ugliness from "anybody would have"

Rush has made innumerable inflammatory racial comments
throughout his entire career and continues to do so to this day. It is not just one article (on the FAIR website no less). He has even been fired for racial comments before.

Brunson, I always read your posts with interest, and, although we do disagree on many things, I respect your opinion and your right to espouse your beliefs. You are knowledgeable, well spoken, and know why you hold your beliefs. However, in this case, I would have to say that even if he is not racist, he certainly says things that pander a segment of his audience that is, and those things are very well documented.
I agree, and am not an Obama supporter. Just tired of all the racial conflict sm
tired of everything being all about race. If they were both black candidates, then people could all just vote their conscience without even thinking about race.
No issue is no issue. Denying that
nm
A racial post shooting the finger. Must be a conservative thing. Point this out.
I just read the thread and don't know what the heck you guys are talking about.

Sounds like you are all just trying to be disagreeable, no wait that's why you continue to post on the LIBERAL board. I see, that's the point. Excuse me.
Like phoney food stamp flyers covered with racial stereotypes,
Obama Halloween ghost hung in effigy to greet 5-year old trick-or-treaters weren't there? How about straight from the horse's mouth? Books have been written on the subject. Here's just one excerpt:

1. McCains use of the anti-Asian slur "Gook" publicly for 27 years before dropping the term for his current presidential run.
2. McCain's endorsement of George Wallace Jr., a frequent speaker at white supremacist events.
3. His vote against establishing a holiday for MLK's birthday and another vote to rescind the holiday, turning hypocrite to say "I was wrong" at a campaign rally.
4. While answering a question about divorced fathers and child support, McCain called the children "tar babies."

There is certainly no shortage of example of racial hatred out of the McCain camp? I could research the subject some more if necessary to prove this point, but I think you get the general idea.
I am addressing racism in general & some of the racial words that were used on this board earlier (s
I am not an Obama supporter specifically because of his pastor's racial biases against white people and because I disagree with Obama's stance on partial birth abortion. I am against racism in all forms. I am against Obama's terrorist friends, I am very unhappy about the church Obama attended for 20 years. I am voting for McCain ONLY to vote against Obama because I do not want him to be our president. Both candidates have a lot of bad history & I wish there was another option. However, I love people of all races. You are making this into a racial election. I want to leave racial terms like "towelhead" and "oreo" and "halfbreed" off of this board. Do you find those words necessary to make your points? If so, your vocabulary and mind are obviously very limited.
Just making sure
because many of those on the side of "we're sending kids to war" are the exact same people that think 13-year-olds should be able to have abortions without their parents knowledge or consent...glad that's not you.
Boy, you just keep MAKING our
don't you? Because the middle east has been unstable was only 1 of many reasons not to start a war there.
they are making all the $$$ they can because they know
fossil fuels will be exausted in about 10 years. For the record it doesn't matter if the average joe stops buying gas, truckers and airlines will still need fuel. it's quite ignorant of someone to assume they can really affect big oil buy not buying gas for one day. They know you will just buy it later; they are like a drug dealer and you need your fix---you will eventually come back.
since you are obviously making

over $250,000 a year if your taxes are being raised, can't feel too sorry for you.

It's you or them and when making

the split decision to save your life, I am sure you would choose LIFE.  That's where a gun would come in real handy.  I don't think our founding fathers needed counseling, do you?

I don't know? Just making a

suggestion?  Don't get your ruffles in a twist?

Are you making this up?
It sounds you are making it up. If not point me in the right direction. I'm on his website searching everywhere and I am not finding these 3 type of revolutions you are claiming are on his site.

What I am reading is that he has been hearing that a lot of people want one, not that he's inciting them. But he is trying to get to the bottom of what it would mean and what it would be like.

Besides, what do you think a revolution is all about? A revolution is standing up to a govt of Tyranny. It is up to them (govt) whether they make it violent or not. The people need to hold them accountable for what they are doing.

I like the flag that Texas has

http://galleryoftherepublic.com/txflags/goliad.htm

Someone stated it means "I would rather cut off my right arm than serve under Tyranny".
the reason they are making
the reason they are making a big deal about the drilling about to happen in alaska is because tyhey think that it is going to interuppt the migration of one of the biggest elk herds in all of alaska, and because if it did, that would not only kill the animals, but a local tribe depends on that herd for food........lol.another contradiction in their thinking.

i personalluy believe that the drilling there is going to be a huge step towards our energy independence.because it will provide over 3 million barrels of oil for over thirty years.wich is ten percent of what we would have used...............
AR making a habit of that, LOL
Just can't seem to help him/herself!
This is a kid you're making fun of
Why does this upset you so? If a student had taped a pro-Bush student would you be making fun of him? I highly doubt it. This kid was concerned that he was being continually being taught a particular political viewpoint in geography class. It happened more than once. I think the kid showed a lot of courage--it wouldn't have mattered to me what his political persuasion was. He should been learning geography and not subjected to political rants on either side.
and you keep making mine

So if something is amiss in the word you don't try to fix it at all you just hope that it goes away?

Would you rather deal with Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas before they get nukes or after?  Should we have let Saddam get nukes too?

This whole *Bush was too preoccupied with Iraq to deal with this situation* the Dems are crying is bull. Just like everything else they say in fact.  This situation has been ongoing for years.  The cease fires so touted by Madeline Albright and Clinton have never been true cease fires.  This is a conflict that has been going on ever since there were Jews and Arabs.  This is one situation you cannot historically place the blame on Bush.  Doesn't hold water.  So, if you are so concerned about our President supposedly not knowing history or geographics then I suggest you do some studying of your own, because your history and your perception of it is a little skewed itself.

Thank you for making my point...
"their crimes, if brought to light and hopefully proven, will be far worse than Clinton ever did." Sigh. They are guilty in your mind as I knew you thought (was in the windy post you did not read). Which makes your comment about innocent until proven guilt worthless and the "wind" you refer to. It only applies to those you want it to apply to. Yes, that IS hypocrisy.

Worse than Clinton did? In a FAIR world, perjury is perjury and is a crime. No matter what they were lying about. Obstruction of justice is obstruction of justice. Which is what they are talking about impeaching Cheney with. The judiciary committee is talking about the Plame case, nothing else. That is what is on the table. Obstruction of justice and perjury. Same thing we already know Clinton is guilty of, because we saw him do it.
And yet you make excuses, as I knew you would. Sigh. You are nothing if not predictable.

Again...I wish the WOULD investigate. I wish they WOULD impeach if they think they have the goods. And if he is proven guilty of perjury and obstruction, then I hope he is removed from office. You CANNOT, and WILL NOT, EVER say that about Clinton (oh because he only lied about sex), and that is a BIG difference between you and me. Maybe I was wrong about your morality. Maybe I gave you too much credit.
i am making light of the

attempts to discredit Barack by calling him a celebrity.  You will see the same issue repeated over and over on this board, only by those who seriously consider that a valid issues.

That is too funny..thanks for making my day!
