Oops. This should be posted under "Thre was a truce."
Sorry.
oops...first sentence posted twice by accident.
:)
Of course, this was not posted to someone who was apologizing. And your response is charming. SM
Typical as well.  I would be glad to no longer be here.  Ta ta!
You posted under my post, thus I assumed it was in response to me.

oops I replied in the wrong place
I was actually replying to the post that said So Einstein's sentiments mean we're all morons. Sorry....guess I'm the moron here. HA HA
I posted under the wrong reply.

"I do not agree with the absolute pronouncement that you are a full-blown psychopath. However, I do see you consistently have tendencies to take a certain measure of pleasure in following aggressive impulses when it comes to validating your obvious adversion to the President-Elect, illustrated by the current post in question. You have been doing this for quite some time, so it would be safe to assume that could be an integral part of who you are. You do seem to gain a great deal of satisfaction out of promoting some of the more far-fetched right-wingnut fantasies out there about O, and you seem to have no particular conscience about doing it. No sarcasm intended. This is the way you come across to some of us."

Yes I did, sbMT. Posted this in the wrong spot.

whoops-posted in wrong place!
The above post is in the wrong spot. belongs below in the thread about increasing unemployment. Sorry about that. Too late to be doing this!!
Another classy response. I won't say liberal response,
because I don't think you and these pile-on posters are indicative of liberals as a whole. Don't know why they let you speak for them...but that is up to them. Obviously you don't think compassion is a personality trait...obviously you feel that it can be turned on and off to suit your agenda. So be it.
Are you also the type who...
believes he didn't do enough to prevent 911?  Because it seems people want it both ways.. Protect me and don't let anything happen to us, but for crying out loud don't DO anything that might be unpopular or make somebody mad.  You can't appreciate the difficult position?  If a suitcase nuke showed up here and was traced back to Saddam you'd be saying look, there was all that evidence and intelligence from countries all over the world and Bush ignored it and didn't depose Saddam.  He really can't win.  So he was bold and made a move.  More than some presidents would do, lest they find themselves down in the polls (which at times seems more important to some people than doing the right thing).  Maybe if Clinton had been a little more proactive during the 90s, while Al-Qaeda was growing and continually ratcheting up their attacks, 9/11 could have been averted.  Who knows.
I would like to have had the same type...
questions asked of Bill Clinton when he ran for Pres the first time having been only the governor, one week after he started. He would have done no better, and he was running for the #1 spot.

She was good. She didn't fall into any of the traps he tried to lay for her...including the 3 times he asked her about hypothetical about Israel bombing Iran's nuclear facilities. He tried his best to trap her. She didn't bite. I just wish we could have a nonpartisan person interview McCain, Palin, Obama, and Biden, just ask a simple question not meant to trap and let the person answer it...and not badger them when they don't like the answer trying to get the answer the interviewer wants. Sigh.
But can she type?
I'm talking about the above poster's comment about Palin being "smart and good-looking." No one is contesting her intelligence (her readiness for the office of VP, maybe, but not her overall intelligence), & I'm pointing to the fact that being "good-looking" is a criterion that's only being applied to the woman candidate.
Do you really believe this type of
Inspired and enlightening as your beliefs are, I do not believe everyone on the planet in the last 2000 years has had the opportunity to accept or reject Christianity.  Personally, I just could never believe in a god who condemns his children for eternity due to an accident of birth... nor can I imagine (without a shudder) spending eternity singing hosannas next to the likes of you.  Did anybody get into heaven before the crucifixion?
You mean like "sometimes I think" - type
personal attacks? You have no moral high ground on which to make that demand.
Again, I am so afraid I can't type
I meant vote against Obama. You people have got to stop scaring me with these stories of Muslims taking over the world. How will I ever sleep at night?
How is it a stereo type?
It's true. When my husband worked for Mediacom Cable the people in the government housing would have the cable in their son's or daughter's names (some of them were 5 years old). Others buy cars either with cash from under the table or through a relative or friend so it is not listed as income or assets. There is no stereo type in that. White people, black people, hispanic people, they all do it.

I walked into the home of a child that I teach at youth group last week to bring some food. His mother doesn't work, no idea where his father is, but there is a huge flat screen tv in their single wide trailer! Talk about mixed up priorities. Can't wash clothes because the washer doesn't work, but we sure as heck can watch ESPN!

That's the problem with welfare. There are so many people on it we can't possibly keep enough caseworkers to check up on them! Instead of starting new programs on top of this one, why not create some jobs by hiring more caseworkers and investigating why these people are on welfare for 5, 10, even 15 years? What is keeping them from working? Is it legitimate, or is it like the white guy that used to live next door to me "I got a messed up ankle" yet he's out in the road playing street football. See, no stereotype, there are deadbeats everywhere, of all colors, shapes, and sizes! :)

This is exactly the type of comments we don't need.
Discuss issues but don't post snide remarks. Simple as that. Worship has no place on this board.
And the more I see of this type of intolerance..
the more I fear for our civil rights. People have sex. There is war, murder, rape, mutilation, etc., all over this world and it has been this way for eons. Take your religiosity to a deserted planet and you can squeeze your Bible all you want. It is MY right not to live under your rules or beliefs.
I wish I could type 1000 wpm.

I would have stated who and what they are debating. Kerry was furious. Sen. Sessions (R-AL) doesn't seem to want to work with anyone on "the other side" either.

Sen. John Ensign (R-Nevada) had a really good speech. He went through the whys and why nots of how this whole mess started. He is willing to work with the other side but he stated that the other side has to work with them, too, which so far, is not happening. He stated that the stimulus package was pushed through the house without any debate, without anyone seeing exactly what was in it, and it was the wrong thing to do. He doesn't care that O wants this passed by President's day. It has to be worked out slowly so they don't make the same kind of mistakes that they did with the last stimulus package.

It's not just tax cuts the pubs want. They want some of the spending in there, too, just not the most ridiculous items. They want the infrastructure in but not just 3% of the total package spread out over 4 years. It wouldn't make much of a difference.

Now, on another subject, I had MSNBC on another TV. Surprisingly, they were only allowing sound for the debate when the democrats are speaking.  Hmmm.

they will just say he can do other type of work -
My BF cannot do anything he knows how to do because it is all physical work and he has so many limitations imposed on him by the doctor; however, social security said that there were jobs he was capable of doing and will not give him benefits.

You really ought to peel your mind away from Fox News and the rest of those jokers some time. Communist China running my local TV station? Geez Louise, you're the one who needs to get a clue.
Oh Lord I may be laughing too hard to type.

North, get a grip woman!   Are you and A. Nonymous some kind of comedy team?  You’re feeding the straight lines to AN and she (he?) is getting the laughs?  Wow are your buttons easy to push.  I sure hope AN (the drunken cheap scotch/irish nazi) does not stop posting, because this is just too much fun to watch

Yeah we get it.  You’re black,  educated and you speak English well.  You write well so you probably speak OK too.  But you just don’t read so great.  Where in any of these posts did AN say you personally were uneducated or did not have a work ethic?  Where is the part about you not speaking English?  Did you see the word ebonics and just stop reading?  If you care so much about all people why are you not standing up for the other two groups mentioned - do you have something against hispanics and hillbillies?

You have to be very worn out from carrying around that big chip on your shoulder.  Why don’t you put it down and stop taking offense at remarks that were obviously not aimed your way?   The topic was career mooches and freeloaders.  You seem to be an MT and have a job or be on the site looking for one.  Nobody called you anything - why so defensive?

I type for a local mental hospital
and I go in and get the tapes and bring them home.  They don't use a big company for their transcription.  I do this as a side job actually.  The pay is much better than a big MT company as well.  I enjoy typing those type of reports as well.
Fine. I will free type it next time. Sorryyyy.

Oh MM, oops, I mean gt. SM
I think you have enough hate for the whole world.  I'll leave that to you.
Oops!

I see they also accused you of being me (and/or others) in your more current posts using the ?? moniker.  In reading your posts there, it was obvious you were sincerely looking for debate, and all you did was ask intelligent questions that should have led to an intelligent debate.  Instead it lead to more personal attacks and name calling, without EVER once addressing the ISSUE you were attempting to address.  I'm sorry you were treated so badly there.  You did nothing to deserve their wrath, other than act like a normal respectful human being with valid questions, and they have little tolerance for people like that.

If you search further down on this board, you'll see where I attempted to debate one of them here well over a month ago.  The person, who I was fooled into believing was sincere about being here to debate, clearly didn't have any responses, though she promised to respond later and never did.  She had the golden opportunity to add something of value and continue the debate process I had begun, but she chose to ignore that and I suppose found more pleasure in insulting others, adding nothing of substance or value to this board, as they constantly do to their own board.

They constantly accuse liberals on this board of being heinous people, their most favorite accusation seeming to be how hateful we all are, yet I think they honestly don't realize how hateful they come across constantly.  Or maybe they do.  Who knows?

Little Dem oops...
Y'know how the Democrats were so opposed to McCain's proposed holiday from the gas tax while gas was so high? Welllll....seems the Dem Nat'l Committee has not only been enjoying tax-free gas in Denver (site of convention), they have been getting it totally free on the front end because there is no signed contract in place to pay for the gas used (even it is tax free), they basically told the Denver mayor they were "good for it." Well, guess they can borrow from Barack if they get in a pinch...lol. The Mayor is the one who offered gas tax free...and seems the state of Colorado has taken exception to that, and the state revenue dept launched an investigation because that is a no-no...the state did not agree to wave the gas tax, and why did the Dems Natl Committee even agree to that when they had been totally against it for the rest of us out here struggling, even for a little gas tax holiday. LOL. Sooo typical. Do as we SAY America, NOT as we DO. Unnnbelievable. LOL. When asked about it, the mayor replied, obviously before having checked with the St. Paul people..."The Republicans are doing the same thing in St. Paul!" Well, number one, they aren't; but even if they were, that somehow makes it right? LOL. The Republicans were FOR a gas tax holiday. The Dems were against it. Well...except the Dem Natl Committee it seems. Heard a local Denver radio show talking about it. Seems not all Denverites, Dem and Repub alike, are impressed with this decision...go figure.
Oops. sm
I did research it...

His wife outed him.

Obama used the roundtable audience, as she did yesterday, to describe her husband's understanding of women's issues through the prism of the strong -- but sometimes struggling -- women in his life.

His own mother, she said at the beginning of her remarks, was "very young and very single when she had him." And, Obama added, he has observed his wife's attempts to reconcile motherhood with her career aspirations.

"He sees me, his wife, who struggles every day with that guilt that we all hold deep in our hearts as women," she said. "That guilt that you don't have the choice to stay home, and even if you do, you feel guilty."

"He has seen me struggle with this my entire life," she added. "Trust me, Barack understands the struggles of women."

Exactly diametrically opposite from things that have been posted here today.

I don't think Sarah Palin, OR Barack Obama's mother, deserve this kind of criticism.
