Subject: vague?

Unless he was making reference to an x-ray. However I was since the original post states there is a long pause in between words he/she is not sure whether it is cut off or if dictator is resting we don't know that he did not say .....whose shape is odontoid. It would no more be vague to describe an odontoid shaped bone in the hand than it would for the scaphoid and trapezoid to be in the hand as you previously stated unless the hand was twisted up around the back and therefore he should have tenderness, probably in his odontoid too.
I guess this is not it, but I found this.

Yes, vague. What tooth shaped bone in the hand would the dicator be referring to? Any bone could

tooth shaped from injury or what have you.  And like I said 9 times out of 10, odontoid refers to the "toothlike odontoid process in the second cervical vertebra."  That's pretty specific, dontcha think?  I've never heard a doctor refer to an "odontoid" in any other part of the body.

Another possibility is that he is saying extended legs of flight.  That is a word that is used to describe a portion of a journey, like the last leg of the trip, etc.  So he could mean an extended portion of a journey during which she will be flying.

there must be two openings in the nasal cavity.  Ostium means opening.  Meatus means opening also.  So if it is as you say, then ostium (opening) meatal (opening) complex is what you are referring to.   Plus that, there is no such word as ostio.

I was referring to the osteum (bone) and meatus (opening) or the osteomeatal complex of the nose.
