but, I  found a fiberoptic interosseous endoscopy.  Don't know that that's what it was, but perhaps if you get it in the future, you have something to look into!

offered no context, such as whether this is a neurology report and what part of the body the patient is having symptoms in? If you put that in your subject line, then it will catch people's attention who type those reports.

Subject: Well U do realize WE R the minority..*LOL*..sm

Hard to change my ways anyway at this age.....*LOL* but we ARE the minority on this, as I have many people in my life in the business forever too.  I took a formal MT class 26 years ago at a major teaching hospital (with branches all over this country) and this very issue came up, and they (the instructors) insisted that it is disk for eyes and disc for the spine.  But, like most reasonable posters have already said, they are both acceptable in use.  Again, it's always client preference.

And she does NOT realize that demographics..sm
Subject: And she does NOT realize that demographics..sm

Demographics have TONS to do with that - I remember in 1980 - where I live had TONS of elderly (now deceased) so the first years of me doing MT work, the very elderly are usually in hospitals with these kinds of problems.  But now where I live, median age is 38!!!

Hence, it doesn't fit the bill any longer, and demographics have changed so drastically in the USA the past 30 years and especially the last 10 years that these statements of hers aren't cutting it.

Oh well, with the cute icon popping bubble gum of hers and it is a very cute emoticom, a grown woman in her 40s-50s-60s I do not think would usually choose an emoticom like that one - perhaps she is very, very young, and we cannot fault her for being a baby.  She'll grow up one day and realize it all on her own, IF she opens up her eyes.

Can you give a sentence to put into context what he's talking about?

But basically, I'd say if the doc dictates it that way, I'd type it as 157 cm and 3/8 inch.

Sometimes we worry too much that there's a way of doing something, and we're missing it -- We have to quit torturing ourselves about this kind of thing -- I know, it's tough :).

But I've never heard of a way to type something like that, other than just figure out what would make sense and not muddy up the report.

In a case like this, just give them what they say. If they have a problem with it, they can clear it up and instruct someone on what exactly it is that they expect.

I'd recast the sentence to "past four days." If you must use "duration," it would be "days' duration" as it refers to four days a plural.

Okay, most of you are gonna think, what an idiot, I know, but I get this phrase a few times, and I'm never quite sure how to put it.  The doctor, this time, says "I am loathe to give him anti-inflammatory..." Is that right? One time I thought another one said 'loathed', and I'm not sure which way it goes.  Thanks....It's Monday for me :)

My friend took her CMT on a Saturday in the office where we worked (has to be 8 years ago approx) and an old-time office manager of mine from a prior office had become a Proctor.....and she stayed with my friend for the 4 or 5 hours that the CMT test took and she (my friend) was not able to look up anything during the time of the test.

Do you think THAT changed?  I don't know, I CAN find out next week from my friend, but I somehow don't think they would let you test for CMT and use references of any kind, but I COULD BE WRONG.  I will research this next week (when friend returns to town) and see if the rules have changed this dramatically, where references CAN now be used to test for CMT.

Thanks for the heads-up.  *S*

Here's how I learned it in the days of yore. sm
Subject: Here's how I learned it in the days of yore. sm

effect (noun) a result

effect (verb) to bring about

affect (verb) to influence

affect (noun) psych term

The verb effect is usually pronounced with a long first e. "Let's effect some change around here."

In your case above, it is the verb effect (to bring about). She wants to bring about relief with club soda. The effect (result) of her using club soda was infrequent symptoms.

Affect as a verb is pronounced with the first syllable accented, (like Ben Affleck).

Affect as a noun (the psych term) has the second syllable accented.

Suggestion: Jot this down and tape it to your monitor. You'll get it. Don't jinx yourself! :)
