You can have high risk of thrombotic events OR bleeding from high platelets depending on the specific situation, disorder, or you can get hemorrhagic stroke from low platelets, too.

it may also be your word expander not being compatible with your platform, if you work on one. sometimes my expander acts screwy when changing between two different platforms. I have to turn it off and then reopen the expander program and then all is fine. good luck.

Need help with letter I am typing re platelet counts
Subject: Need help with letter I am typing re platelet counts

The studies demonstrated carotid artery disease but, also, she has a platelet count of 1004 k per cmm and persistent reduction in her hemoglobin and hematocrit at 9.4 and 31.5.

Does anyone know how to format this?  I can't find the K at all in relation to these values, but doc is  clearly saying,  1004 K per cmm.  thank you.

re: Need help with letter I am typing re platelet counts
Subject: re: Need help with letter I am typing re platelet counts

K is abbreviation for thousands; also used as abbreviation for potassium. platelets are expressed in thousands.

I think the 1004 k/cmm should be expressed this way.
