I think this is the type of incision used in Head and Neck Surgery. see inside
Subject: I think this is the type of incision used in Head and Neck Surgery. see inside

Schobinger 1957-(fig 3a and 3b) Higher horizontal incision allows easier access to oral cavity and
various modifications for posterior vertical limb.
Shorter superior flap allows midline lip splitting extension with less likelihood of loss of tip (Becker 1984, fig 3c)

Also found:

Surgical treatment of many tumors of the head and neck require extended approaches. Many cervicotomies have been described in the treatment of head and neck and cervical tumors; careful thought must be made by a surgeon when surgical treatment is planned for an extended tumor. Our purpose is to show the versatility of the modified Schobinger incision.
