midbrain vs mid brain in same report

Posted By: Linda on 2008-10-16
In Reply to:

Need help on midbrain hemorrhage.  Editing an ASR report:  CT scan result is "hemorrhage within the pons and mid brain"; in Assessment/Plan, "midbrain hemorrhage."  Is it correct to use mid brain for the CT result and midbrain in the A/P?

But my Stedman's disagreed (LOL) . . . intertrigonal is what netscape said "did you mean . . ." when I googled, and I actually went with intertriginous, which is what came up in the archives here when I asked the question, and Stedman's liked that too (although the PA did say "al" v. "ous".

I think everybody has moved on since this word was posted earlier, but I would like to know what this word means and I cannot find it.  Is it an instrument used in brain surgery, a structure in the brain, what, the name of an x-ray, what?  And how did Pugmom find it?  Or did she not find it but found combining forms?  I would be grateful for a helping hand because I am confused.

Someone is talking over the dictator in the background and one section is not clear.  He is saying:

"Negative for intracranial vascular abnormalities.  The s/l SOLID TURSKAR region appears normal.  Negative for mass, mass effect, cerebral edema....."

Because of this dictator's N'Awlin's accent, the second word MAY BE "vascular" but I could not correlate with "solid vascular region" of the brain.  Any help?

B-type natriuretic peptide: A 32-amino-acid polypeptide secreted by the ventricles of the heart in response to excessive stretching of myocytes (heart muscles cells) in the ventricles. The levels of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) are elevated in patients with left ventricular dysfunction.

Brain natiuretic peptide (BNP) is a hormone secreted specifically by the left ventricular myocytes. Its concentration is correlated with the severity of symptomatic or asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction.
