 In an operative report for a cervical laminectomy and fusion, the doc says "the screw holes that had been placed were placed using the s/l Howard On technique with 30 degrees lateral and 15 degree cephalad angulation from the center-center position. 
 Maybe the word I'm looking for is Howard An because it sounds like he say a-n right after he says the word technique, as if he's spelling An for me.  I can't document this anywhere in my Google search efforts though. if neurosurgery, maybe pulvinar?

 I hate even asking this question because I'm sure it is something everyone has heard, but lately I have been doing so many oncology and renal reports that I am getting rusty with everything else.   
 Doctor mentions a distal radius fracture with "dorsal translation across the pyses of the distal foramen."  
 I can't find the word pyses.  I know how I spelled it is not correct.  But can someone please help!!?
