Email reply to her resignation

Posted By: SMT on 2005-07-28
In Reply to: Case of Vanessa Satterwhite - SMT

I forgot to post the email I sent her on the day she quit. Here it is:

Vanessa,

This is very unfortunate! We have not received the files we assigned you for 6/30 submission and you are not answering your phone. I am dismayed by your lack of professionalism in not even giving us the courtesy of saying you will not do the work. That said, what personal problems you may have, I hope you work them out.

I regret to inform that I can no longer work for SMT because of personal issues that need my immediate attention. I am sorry for the lack of notice, but it could not be avoided. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Thank you,
Vanessa Satterwhite

Email reply vs. Post Reply
Could someone tell me how to post a message and then have someone reply by email instead of just "Post Reply."  I'm pretty new to this "chat" board.  But I WOULD like to say it is VERY informative and helpful.  Too bad some of the companies we work for aren't as helpful as one MT is to another MT.  We'd have it made!!
I sent her an email and this is her reply:

Well Micheal, nice to hear from you too.....Do you know how many resumes I get from all over the frickin country.  They don't even read the ad, and why should I not put EXACTLY what I am looking for in something I am paying for, the ad.......I don't have losers working for me and wouldn't hire one.   Are you looking ??  LOL

Hmm...first it would help if she could SPELL (its Michael, not Micheal).   Beam me up Scotty!

Is it true that you can see the "email" when it's reply by email? sm
Some have said they've been contacted by moderator(s) regarding something they sent in Reply by Email.
please reply only if you are a user, do not email if you sell them,ty (nm)
nm
Well, if you left your email address as a reply option,
maybe someone on "the other board" would email you privately with details! Otherwise, I never heard of it either!
Please leave an email or email me at my address....click the email button. Thanks...nm

resignation
In the past I have always wrote a simple letter, stating the date I was leaving and that I had appreciated the experience I had gained with them but that circumstances change and at this point it was better to move on to new and different opportunities, yadda, yadda, yadda... Sometimes I really wanted to say Take this JOB and #!@%@#! But you never know when you will need the reference, so it's always better to be professional about it
re resignation
I apparently responded just as your post was being moved; could have almost written it myself. My guess is that you're leaving the Q and going to MDI-MD right? I did! Enjoy your freedom!!!
Withdraw your resignation.
If this new company is already pulling stuff with you before you're hired, it will only get worse.
Yes, I agree with the OP, withdraw your resignation but ALSO ...sm
make sure you make a very severe complaint about the recruiter/individual who acted in this manner.

I would write the CEO, COO and Board of Directors if at all possible. The Human Resources Director should know as well.

Bless your heart.
Proper way to submit resignation?
How much information does one have to include in a resignation? Just the date effective? Do you need to give the reasons in the resignation?  TIA!
Resignation from a large MTSO...sm

Dear Sirs:

I am turning in my resignation with giving the required 2 weeks notice. I have enjoyed working for your organization for 10 of the past 11 years; however, I feel that I must step down at this time.  Over the past year I have been asked increasingly to work outside my schedule because work isn't available during my daytime shift because you're now sending the work on the account overseas overnight, leaving little work for the day shift employees.  In addition, the benefits have decreased and while my cost of living has gone up, requests for a line rate increase to 8.5 cpl have been denied.  You forget that I am a top producer and transcribe over 2500 lines a day & have QA scores of 99-100, so perhaps you'll enjoy paying benefits for 2 employees to replace my production.

You may wonder where I am going to work.  I have found a small mom and pops company that refuses to send our work outside of the US.  I will have guaranteed work from the same doctors each day and will have 24 hours to return work that I obtain Monday through Thursday, and Friday work received will be due back by Monday afternoon.  This will allow me to schedule my own work hours.  They are going to be paying me more than you are, because they realize that hiring one excellent Transcriptionist and paying them more per line is cheaper than hiring 2 inferior transcriptionsts, especially when you consider the cost of keeping that extra employee working for you.  The owner of this company is well known to take very good care of the employees and not jerk them around, and that is the way they also treat their clients.  Doctors love them for their dependability and accuracy of reports, and knowing that work will not leave the US unless they specifically request it do so.

Sincerely,

Suzie Q Transcriptionist

Tips on resignation letter

I am getting ready to resign from a company I have been with for many years. I haven't written a resignation letter in years. Should I detail why I am leaving or just tell them I am leaving? I just want to be as professional as possible, but thought just a few lines telling them why might be appropriate. I will be sending this to my new manager who I have never talked to and who has only been there a couple of weeks.

Anyway, since I haven't done one in so long, just wanted some advice.

TIA

I was in the same situation. I E mailed my resignation.
Offer up a small notice. They still have your last paycheck to send you and they sound really nasty. Do the minimal amount to do for them, be professional to them and then get out as quick as you can. Remember, though, if you want your check, just do what you can to make sure you seem professional and not stooping to their level. But if you are happily leaving, e mail notice ASAP and forget about them except for your small notice obligation and focus mentally on your blessings. This will get you through the difficult time left with them. THen let go of them and forget them. Trust me. I had trust issues with jobs for 6 months after a bad experience with 1 MTSO, and am just letting go now. Above all, preserve your self-esteem, be professional and courteous, but get out. Good luck!
Resignation letter ideas

I want to put in my two weeks' notice.  I haven't had to do this since working at home.  Just an e-mail to the supervisor?  Should I cc it to the manager?  Also, I would like to make known how much I like my supervisor.

Suggestions?

Don't throw up hands in resignation, EDUCATE
yourself. Immigration has been made into a HUGE issue to distract you from what you should REALLY be concerned about: FOREIGN POLICY. If Americans would sacrifice the 30-60 minutes they waste on TV garbage on any given night and actually PARTICIPATE in their own democracy, they'd be shocked and outraged to know WHERE AND WHAT their tax dollars are actually spent on...

Immigration IS a problem, but NOT in the way we've been led to believe.

KVMs $20-60. One internet connection. You'd have no email or a 2nd email acct for your 2nd puter.

I don't understand. I didn't get email from MT Stars, I got email from offshore people
is what I'm talking about. I'm not a liar and take offense to your insinuation.
They can send an email that goes to all MTs in one shot. I think she just means a courtesy email
would be nice. MQ is not getting any easier. My account has been picked over thoroughly when it went on DQS by ASR and I get all the remains because they only have a core group doing ASR which I think is wrong because you get all the bad dictators and it would be nice to be acknowledged that at least you know the person you can discuss problems with as they crop up. This is a big one and we have no manager anymore and no one to discuss this with at all in my office so you just sit here very day doing this work and no way to vent to someone that could offer some suggestions on this and other issues that come up to help relieve some of the stress of working this way.
Just send an email to the email link inside the post.

Again, because you entered your email address, you CAN receive email from anyone, but THEY

e-mail address because it is not revealed when they send mail because we have spam protection in place.  The only way they would know what your email address is, is if you reply to the email they send you.  If you don't want to receive any email from anyone, simply do not enter your email address in the Email field.

I intended to email it- already email the mods to remove

Not through the MTStars email server. Your email address is NOT
visible to anyone.  The only way your employer would know it is you is 1) if you respond when someone emails you, or 2) they recognize the way you write.

address for a similar type of *job opportunity* today, although it was not this person's name. I can't believe the presumptiveness of some of these people! Don't they realize that they are taking jobs away from us and probably doing something illegal, to boot? I sent the email to the authorities this morning after reading it. T'd me off!
thanks for your reply

and really sad too....

how's this for a reply
THE ARUBAN CASE INVOLVES AN AMERICAN, HELLO?  Comparing this and the Idaho case is just plain stupid! She is an American and deserves to have Americans looking for her.  God, give me a break!

Well I have only been working for 5 days now hard to say...

Oh you are kidding!!! I just tested and was offered an IC position.. did you work for them long and they didn't pay you or if I am being too nosey please tell me.. I hear so much on this and other boards about companies not paying, you just don't know anymore about any of them!!
I have to reply to this LOL
That is not always the case sweetheart (see being nice).  I have been sugary sweet to these people and it does not work.  I have found that if it is a woman on the phone..my husband gets where we need to be and if it is a man on the phone, i get where we need to be.  Sad but true!!

Give this newbie a break! Trust QA? You don't if you do all that research. What makes you think no research was done?
Reply

Thats what i said..we don't know.  So therefore, she needs to be aware that she should definitely do the research PRIOR to just leaving the job.  If she hasn't then a new job is not going to do her any good other than show that she changes jobs often, which does not look good on a resume.  As far as trusting QA...not ALL companies hire crappy QA.  We again do not know.  The QA COULD be right and COULD be very good at his/her job.  You simply don't know, but telling her to move on before you even know the facts is just silly.

Animal advocate, I really appreciate all your info you are putting out there, but I do take pause at your statement above that animals were meant to be consumed, I do not believe this. We are made to be vegitarians as our digestive tracts are not meant to digest meat, our intestines are too long thus the meat sits in our stomachs and rots before it is expelled. Yes there is a food chain, but I don't believe animal meat is part of that food chain for humans. Keeping on researching you will find the right answers for you, again thanks for your input.

Can you tell me what you were offered? If you don't mind.

Thank you! for your reply. Must tell you

When I got the email telling me I passed my test, I had tears rolling down my face. My 10-year-old daughter said, "Mama what is wrong?!"  I said, "I passed the test!"  She said, "Why are you crying?  You're happy aren't you?"  The combination of the stress of testing and finding out that I actually do have what it takes, hit me all at once.

I've been home for a year now after doing inhouse for over 15 years, and it is the best decision I have ever made.  I love it.  The flexibility is great for my kids, not to mention that I'm saving a small fortune on gasoline!

I get your message loud and clear about looking things up.  I have dozens of dogeared reference books and I am the queen of Google.  I took a medical terminology class to help with areas I wasn't too experienced with and the instructor's main focus was, "Don't guess. Look it up!"

reply, thanks
Thank you for the feedback. any ideas on a company that is honest to work for?
If this reply was to me
It is because I still have the best I can get right now with the hospital, even though MQ did make it much worse, I can't afford to lose the benefits that we have. I went to work for MQ part-time on the side in the SAME PROGRAM and realized that it was EVEN WORSE, SO I QUIT MQ.
reply to above
if your life is so void of friends/family that you have to come to an MT board to discuss your personal issues.  transcription is only ONE aspect of my life.  I come to this board to discuss transcription issues and transcription issues only.  I have other people in my life that I can discuss things like KATRINA with.

you obviously don't live with anyone.
A reply...
Your assumption is that less profits for CEOs and businesses and MORE money funneled into services will alleviate poverty.  I don't agree.  That is still a Band-Aid to the problem.  Since Johnson's Great Society in the 1960's poverty has not improved much at all.  In fact, some of the core underlying reasons for poverty have now been enabled... Who needs to worry about having kids without the proper preparations, the govt will save you.  We have a culture filled with rap music telling impressionable young people anything goes.  And I don't buy the "parents should just not allow kids to listen to it if they don't like it" because the kids that it impresses are kids who don't have proper parenting at home.  I'm all for funneling money into programs to get people onto their feet, to get educated, to help them while they achieve this goal, but to just hand it out to people who feel entitled without any effort in return is wrong.  Poverty will simply continue and even worsen.
For you and WA see my reply below. I did this

because I needed a laugh too!

My microwave is broken again, so I had to order out for pizza.

I first called my sister and asked her what to do.  I asked her how to use the big huge white appliance thingy with all of the dials on it that sits next to my refrigerator and has cute little covers over those "coily things" on the top.  I told her that the dials and numbers are way to confusing.

Her reply to me was, "Oh my gawd, you cook?"

Glad I made you guys laugh or chuckle.  With this job, we all need it.

I am confused by your response.....I actually enjoyed the original posters "little jokes" about Walmart and someone had to come on here and say how ridiculous it is and how it wasn't funny and what not. I voices my opinion and she kept having come backs. I certainly always love a good laugh and just cannot understand how this Walmart jokester was so wrong in people's eyes. So, perhaps you should be addressing her and not me, because I have a good sense of humor and found it somewhat amusing.

No, I have my college degree. All I was saying was that no job is certain anymore even with a college degree. I have met quite a number of people who have college degrees in areas such nursing who have gotten into transcription because what they were doing before was too demanding of their time and they had no family life. I wish people would stop knocking this profession. For myself this is a great fit for me. I just recently moved across the country from PA to CA with the same job totally intact. I have total freedom to move where I please when I feel like it without it disrupting my income or where I work. How many people can say that? Not many.
