Any small companies in Michigan that are nice to work for. nm

What else is new **small hospitals** sm
I'd like to know who the salespeople are at this company.  All these small accounts with their picky instructions.  Why don't we have even one huge medical facility?
Know nothing about SOM hospitals, this is a small hospital outside Kansas City. nm

Does anyone know of any of the Philadelphia, PA hospitals that hire their own MTs.

TransTech and Medware, are these companies considered large, medium-sized or small companies? (sm)
TIA
The University of Pennsylvania Health System Hospitals is huge in Philadelphia. Do they hire their
own MTs for those hospitals does anyone know. They must have a large amount of transcription to be done.
hospitals vs. companies

I am applying at both a hospital for a prn position and with an MT company for part time work. I have the option to work in-house with the hospital, which I may do because I have to drive 25 miles to the city to bring my kids to their preschool anyway.  My question is, what are some of the differences between working for a hospital and working for a company?  (Pros and cons for each)  I have less than 2 years experience, and some of that time was spent doing chiropractic transcription, so I am concerned that I might need more experience or training for the hospital work.  Thanks in advance for any comments.

hospitals vs. companies
Thanks so much for the input!
Not familiar with actual company but familiar with platform some use and it is super-slick!

It is the hospitals that have not upgraded and most of the tech companies that sm
supply the MT software. It is causing problems in hospitals too with billing, coding, scheduling, etc. The technology vendors wanted Microsoft to get the bugs out first rather than have another ME fiasco!
Why do you think hospitals pay less for transcription companies who outsource or do VR?
These stinky companies do not want the hospitals to know that is what is going on because they charge the hospital the same rate whether it is a towel head or a machine typing their work versus a real MT. The transcription company just makes a bigger profit margin and finds another way to take money away from the MLS who live and work in the United States.
Small companies
Please list the names of some small companies. I need to get out of a big national but don't know where to turn. Thanx.
Small companies not for me

I have worked for both and I think that small companies are very, very particular. Not that that is a bad thing, but  ZERO room for error (everyone knows perfection is impossible 100% of the time).  So if you can QA at 100% every single time with a national, a small company would be perfect for you.  In all of my experience my lowest QA score was a 99.2 with nationals.  Small company just made me feel extremely inadequate.  That is one thing about communication with a small company, you can start feeling attacked for very (and I mean very) minor things.

HTH.

small companies
Anyone give out some names of small good companies?
small companies
Sorry about being so vague. I'm looking for smaller national companies - probably 100-200 MTs (?)
Best of the big and small companies?

Are there companies out there that people really enjoy working for any more?

Look at small companies
When I changed companies last summer, I applied only to companies that had no VR, as that was why I was leaving my current company. I found quite a few by researching this board, and of course they tended to be smaller companies. They are out there. I would just review the info on this board and make a list.
There are literally thousands of companies and hospitals and doctor sm
offices to work for. As a service owner, I would not even speak to someone who has not even started school about a job.

The field is solid, regardless of what you might read on here. There are over 200,000 MTs in the U.S. and many thousand more in offshore.

However, don't believe the matchbook covers. You will not make $60,000 the first year out of school!
The big companies and the small MTSOs are
what I avoid. Give me a medium sized company any day. The big companies treat you like a number. It's nothing but corporate B.S. The little MTSOs are always stressing out and you're the only person they have to work for them. Both want you available 24/7 and to sit there doing nothing if there's no work or the system is down.
Small national companies
I'm trying to find a new company and it is way more involved than I thought.  Earlier I asked about larger companies.  What are some of the smaller companies that people work for, say not more than 200 MTs??  Thanks for your replies!!
In general, small companies
I just left one of the big companies because I won't do ASR because of the decreased pay. Smaller companies are usually straight transcription only, and I am now with one of those. There are quite a few out there.
I think it's mostly very small companies that use ftp/Word anymore

or the small ones do not draw attention. It seems to be the bigger companies. sm
They are the ones mentioned the most, at least the ones that are growing.
Ever notice how small & medium-sized MT companies - sm

are going the way of the dodo (and family farms), only to be replaced by huge, corporate McTranscription companies?  The Wal-Martization of medical transcription is a step backwards for discreet, high-quality medical records.

companies change all the time - her info is old, she said. (sm/small message)
A turnover in managers,QA, leads, even recruiters can make an impact and happens all the time, so you never know; old info - grain of salt. newer info more reliable and needs to be found while considering.

RE: Companies on FTP who hire ICs? nm
Your question is not so simple, i.e., FTP is acronymn for file transfer protocol which is a function of internet transferring of encrypted information - internet based companies use this process to transfer files from point A to B.

Are there any companies who hire Psych MTs?
Love transcribing psych evals, but I don't see many companies who hire for Psych.
Any companies hire newbies? I'm a CMT who
works for a company that had a mentoring program and hired newbies.  Had a very smart young girl ask me about getting into MT and told her the company I worked for had a mentoring program.   She purchased Career Step six months ago but did not buy the program with the job placement as both of us felt she could get accepting into the mentoring program; however, she just now graduated and I just found out our company has abandoned their mentorship program.  I feel really bad now because I don't know of any other companies that hire newbies.  Do any of you know of any?  I think this girl really has potential.

Are there any companies that will hire PRN for IC status?
I think maybe what I need is a PRN IC job that will let me work when I need to (like when there is no work on my main account) so that Im not idle and making NO MONEY for that day or few hours or whatever it ends up being. If you know of any place that does this, please let me know.
Yup, especially the companies that hire newbies, but
they are slowly starting to have Vista use.
Which companies hire for VR work?

I would like to go back to doing VR work.  I think I am more productive with it.  Who is hiring for VR work, are they good companies, and do you feel more productive doing VR versus straight typing?   Thanks

I liked to find a company that has a great ortho account and needs help whether it be FT or PT, IC or employee, but it seems hard to find anyone that has any good ortho accounts.

Does anyone know of any companies who hire PT employee status? nm

I posted asking for companies who hire p.r.n. IC status sm

I am not asking for companies to contact me.  I am merely asking if there areny MTs out there who know of companies that have this as an option.  No different than any other question about companies here, such as who hire FT, PT, benefits available, etc.  This is not a job wanted posting.  This is a posting asking to give me ideas on where to start my search and if such arrangements exist.

PLEASE give people a break here, this is what this board is supposed to be for isn't it, a place for MTs to network and learn from each other?
