Are there any companies that will hire PRN for IC status?
I think maybe what I need is a PRN IC job that will let me work when I need to (like when there is no work on my main account) so that Im not idle and making NO MONEY for that day or few hours or whatever it ends up being. If you know of any place that does this, please let me know.
Does anyone know of any companies who hire PT employee status? nm

I posted asking for companies who hire p.r.n. IC status sm

I am not asking for companies to contact me.  I am merely asking if there areny MTs out there who know of companies that have this as an option.  No different than any other question about companies here, such as who hire FT, PT, benefits available, etc.  This is not a job wanted posting.  This is a posting asking to give me ideas on where to start my search and if such arrangements exist.

PLEASE give people a break here, this is what this board is supposed to be for isn't it, a place for MTs to network and learn from each other?

Are there any companies that hire emp status and let you work sort of a split?
I would like to work 6 hours during the day while kids are in school and then about 2 hours in the evening. Are there companies that will allow this? Do they have affordable benefits?

Suggest you find a 2nd company for backup. The backup accounts
are dried up, too, and you can ask for work daily and still never get any.  Once u get stuck on an account you are there til u die unless u happen to be management's favorite.  u never hear about any new accounts opening up, new platforms,  Be prepared to read the intermet message boards to find out what is going on, that is how I found out they had Beyond Txt and ExText, or had any work available, (supposedly) since they keep advertising for help, but I still do not have enough work to keep busy.   Liz wrote this big long message on here a few weeks ago, but nothing changed, nothing happened.  It is same as always, hot air to try to calm people down.  the
You know, I understand about this backup business. I actually have started to refuse backup
accounts because I fully well realize that after you learn it which could take a decent amount of time depending on how difficult the account is that it will also disappear so I have made it a point to usually refuse secondary accounts and for sure beyond that.  I have just started to get a secondary JOB instead of secondary accounts because the name of the game is they are using you to run that account out and then on to the next one.  I dont play the game anymore.  If they dont like it, tough.  Let them find someone else.  Eventually MTs will just stop wanting to work there and they will get less and less qualified MTs as people move on.
Does Ablescribe hire employee status?
If they do, any comments on how they pay QA? Good company?
Since when does TransTech hire IC status? You might want to post the correct information. nm

Companies.........IC status
Don't companies know that if you are IC status, they cannot dictate your hours or give you a shift to work.  That is against the law.  If they do so, you have every right to have them pay your social security taxes as an employee.  I'm amazed at how blatantly they advertise IC, then dictate your hours and the pay you will receive, even though it's against the law.  Gee, I guess too many MT's go along with it.
do any companies still have statutory status?
and do they provide the computer or do you use your own?
Good IC status only companies?

Does anybody know of any good IC status only companies?  I currently work at a hospital, but I have to come back home to work due to my husband's military career.  I really need a flexible schedule since I have a three year old with special needs.

TIA!

Employee status companies?
I was wondering if anyone out there would know of any companies that have employee status.

My husband and I are so close to being able to get approved for a home loan but the bank can't count my earnings until I have worked 3 years IC status with tax returns to prove it and I am only at 2 years but we are forced to move out within the next 2 months as our landlord is selling the house we are renting.

But if I can get employee status where my taxes are taken out for me (if MT companies even do that for work-at-home people), I only have to work 30 days and then we can qualify for a decent loan.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for reading my story.
VR Companies with Employee Status

I'm looking for a company with employee status that does VR.  I have two IC accounts, but want something to do where I can have my taxes taken off.  Any info would be greatly appreciated!

What companies offer employee status?

I'm needing to get health insurance through work and wanted to know what companies offer this.  I'd prefer a company that required 1000 lines or less per shift if that is possible.  The line rate really isn't that important as my main concern would be a good family health plan.

Any leads are appreciated!  Thanks.

Does anyone know of any good companies that offer IC status and little ASR?
I'm working for MQ right now as flexible part-time but thinking I want to go back to IC status.  I just have this feeling that things aren't going to be as flexible as they used to be.  That and I'm sick of all the ASR and getting paid crap!  Most of my work is ASR, I'm getting way more lines, but my paycheck is smaller!?!?!  Need flexibility and a decent paycheck!  Any input would be great from anybody!  I've worked only for MQ for 8 years and wondering if there would be anything better out there!

RE: Companies on FTP who hire ICs? nm
Your question is not so simple, i.e., FTP is acronymn for file transfer protocol which is a function of internet transferring of encrypted information - internet based companies use this process to transfer files from point A to B.

Are there any companies that still hire PT?
Are all PT positions limited to evenings/nights or weekends? Im looking for early daytime hours and not more than 30 hours a week. Any suggestions?
Y don't companies with employee and IC status stop the ICs from working
when work is slow? Is it because they don't want their FT employees to get enough lines to keep benefits?  The ICs can say when they will work, when they will take off, so the companies should do the same for them.  No wonder there is no loyalty to companies.
Are there any GOOD companies that offer IC status (and no weekends?) ??

I would really like to work a Monday through Friday job.  Plus, I prefer IC status.   Probably an impossible combo...

Are there any companies who hire Psych MTs?
Love transcribing psych evals, but I don't see many companies who hire for Psych.
Any companies hire newbies? I'm a CMT who
works for a company that had a mentoring program and hired newbies.  Had a very smart young girl ask me about getting into MT and told her the company I worked for had a mentoring program.   She purchased Career Step six months ago but did not buy the program with the job placement as both of us felt she could get accepting into the mentoring program; however, she just now graduated and I just found out our company has abandoned their mentorship program.  I feel really bad now because I don't know of any other companies that hire newbies.  Do any of you know of any?  I think this girl really has potential.

Any companies offer QA/Editor jobs (employee status)
I currently work as an Editor (IC) for a company that pays a rather low hourly rate ($12). I can only be considered for an increase after working 6 months if I average 300+ lines an hour(to $14). Compound this with the fact that there is usually no work.

I find it impossible to do more than 300 lines an hour while providing feedback therefore, I will never get a raise! I am looking to work for a company as an employee who pays well (hourly) whether there is work or not. I'm very concerned about not having enough work to meet my financial obligations.
Anyone know of companies that hire orthopedic transcriptionists..

Any companies hire Senior Citizens

Just wondering how many MTs are out there who are past 60 years of age and still working full-time and transcribing more than minimum weekly lines.   I am hitting 60 soon and am noticeably starting to slow down.   Used to be able to meet minimum lines in an 8 hour day, now it is taking almost 9 hours.  Need to work full-time for the insurance, so part-time is not an option.  Don't want to go to editing or voice recognition because the problem isn't so much the typing as it is the sitting.  Tried lots of different chairs and back supports, but still get back, neck, and shoulder pain by the end of the day, which causes me to lose concentration and hence takes me longer to transcribe reports.  Getting up to move around just makes the day longer and when there is not much work, I can only work a straight 8 hours (no 12 hour window) with my current company.   I don't think I am in jeopardy of losing my job because of not meeting minimum in the near future, but wonder if it is even worth it to continue to try, or is it time to get out of medical transcription entirely and go work at WalMart.

So, any MTs in their golden years been hired lately and with what company?  Any MTs still working at 65 years of age?   Thanks.

I think that a lot of companies hire constantly for different reasons and you need to sm
look at the variables. I plan on applying with KS when their next ad comes out for several reasons. I was hesitant because it seems they are always hiring, but if a company has a lot of new accounts, they need a lot of new MTs. I talked to them about a year ago, and they had 200 MTs. Now I have heard 300 and then recently 500. Obviously, they are hiring for growth reasons.

On the other hand, the company I am with now has fewer accounts and fewer MTs than a year ago. They lost a huge account to KS (I called a friend of my at the hospital and asked) but have not told us yet. I hope to be able to get in to work on the account with them. I was told that the account left XXX because of poor TAT and quality (not me, I asked that too!) and that KS is actually more expensive but that another hospital in their group is very happy.

dontcha hate that when these companies over hire? They need to sm
remember the ones with seniority and stop the part timers and newbies when the work is low.
