Company start with an "E"..give us a hint. If they are doing it to someone else too, then I&#

In Reply to: I am so frustrated with this MTSO thing. Is this normal or what....sm - time to throw in the towel?

Throwing in the towel is one way of putting it. I've done this routine too many times.

Can you give me a hint as to which company? The same thing happens to me too and I am an IC. nm

Can you give us a hint who this might be (sm)

in order to prevent this from happening to someone else.  Thanks.

Sorry to ask, but can you hint as to which company this is? I also work ... SM

for one in Florida, and this seems to be happening to me, too.

well, then again..maybe they start low to give more (sm)

room for merit increases.

I can't give you the name of the message board, but it is not a free message board (HINT). There
Monitor, I hope this post is okay.
I start tomorrow, I will give my honest ...

take on things.  I will let you know how it compares to other companies I have worked for.

or maybe it's really a good company. Give me a break. If a company isn't talked about sm
on here, good or bad, it's probably too small to matter and does not offer benefits or anything at all.
Thanks! I can take a BIG hint!
Looks like I'll have to look elsewhere. Know of any others that accept satellite or dialup?
One hint
One thing I can tell you for a fact is regarding the current recruiter and his recruitment process.  He said that he totally disregards any resumes that do not include the name of places worked and exact dates.  It doesn't matter if you scored 100% on the online test.  If you have a functional resume that concentrates on your skills rather than listing your work history details in chronological order, it gets tossed, and you won't hear from them at all.
So start your own company. That's what they did. nm

would that company start with a "T" and
end in a d? If so, I know all too well! It makes me sick. I've been doing this for 11 years and it really is getting worse and worse for MTs. They are pretty manipulative in making us think we will make more. We're not that stupid, though, to believe them. Aren't there any companies who just stick to using human MTs instead of these ignorant VR systems? If so, tell me who, please - I'm ready to throw in the towel with the company I'm at now.
No, the company do not start with an M
nm
Does this company name start with A? nm

Does that company start with a
xx
Does the name of this company start
with an M?
Does the company name start with a T??
I have been there and done that!!
What company is this? Maybe I should start looking
NM
Can you hint as to where these accounts are?
I know you can't give the names on here, but could you at least hint as to whether it is clinic, acute, or RadNet and/or what position they are on the community page. I am so afraid mine is one of those accounts :(
Just curious. Does your new company start with a P? nm
nm
Yes, I'd have a backup job..Also, does this company start with a C?? Thanks NM

This company's name doesn't start with a "K", but......
sorry you had the same experience with another company. It stinks when you are told you have failed a test but aren't given any further details.
It is a good company, how many others start - sm
you higher than 0.08 a line anymore? Very few and far between. They don't make a fortune off of you, they are not getting .20 a line and you .08, nothing like that. I have been working there for a year now, and yes some days I only make $50, others $80-$100, just depends on how much I chose to work. Have plenty of work, too much actually right now, all my accts have gone crazy lately it seems. But if any one sees this and has questions just let me know.
Let that be a hint as to how MQ does business. You are now a mushroom
If they had been decent about things as they hired you they would have offered you the option of things before you sunk all your money into their company.
A big hiring campaign might be a hint, but...
they'll never let on unless they have to.

I was hired by a company in a big hiring blitz even after I told the owner that I was happy with my other company. I just liked/needed her benefits.

Thankfully I overlapped the 2 jobs because the employer I was working for bought the new company that hired me... for 2 cents less per line and I would be stuck with company #1's terrible benefits (the reason I wanted to leave).

I confronted the owner and she said she was under no obligation to inform me of a pending sale, even if it was to the company I was leaving for her.

Thankfully, I was still employed by company #1 and was able to keep my accounts and pay.

Can't really give you any advice, just to say you won't know till it's a done deal.
I start tomorrow with a small company exactly as you
Hope it works out but I've had good success in the past from companies who don't advertise.
optimal - start-up flip company

Optimal readings is a start-up flip company. The CEO has been involved with numerous flips with other companies he's helped start. They are backed by investors with deep pockets, which it needs for the acquisitions they conducted last year and going forward. Because of these acquisitions, they've gone from a start-up in late 2006 to the No. 4 Teleradiology service provider in the nation. They've positioned themselves in an attractive position for one of the top 3 to buy them out. The major draw back of this company is the fact that their overhead is very high (radiologists aren't cheap, up to $350/hr) and they've resolved to billing insurance and individuals instead of billing the hospitals directly. Collections of this nature are in the 30%-40% range. While they use Billed revenue to make themeselves look attractive, their actual 'collected' revenue is significantly lower. Any company that buys Optimal Readings (which may be going under a different name now after their Dec. 6th 2007 acquisition), will be buying a money pit and will likely just liquidate their assets and adapt their clients into their system.

I also could have written your post.. Does your company start with a .....
T...??? It just sounds way too familiar and I have cut back on working for them because I'm sick of getting the garage that they won't send to the Indians
you must have mistaken this for another company; benefits start in 30 days
This person obviously has no clue
Don'r forget, when you first start direct deposit with any company sm

sometimes you get a paper check the first pay period.

I don't see ANY MT company names on this list!! Everybody PLEASE start e-mailing.
x
Does your company start with a T... If so, I feel your pain and it does no good to complain. No one
cares. Tell me how you go from over 200 jobs in a queue to nothing in a few hours. Hmmmm. I smell offsourcing. Not happy. I just got a second job and thank goodness. It will save me when there is no work which is too often for my liking.
Gosh..does this company start with an F. In any event, you need to double check with your insurance
provider to see the exact date the policy was cancelled. Sometimes, companies have to pay preminums ahead of time. I would just make sure and if they are still taking the money out, you need to send a certified letter telling them to return your money at the point you were paid up and the policy cancelled or reinstate the insurance. Why pay for something your not getting.
Can you give the name of the company - sm
I am in the process of looking for a new job and really don't want to choose one that doesn't pay on time!

TIA!
And, why don't they give their company name?
They should be up front about it. It would save everyone a lot of time.
HINT: Program only "reads" 1 space, no matter how many spaces you type.

They have you coming and going.

Mostly they have us by the pocketbooks because they REFUSE to share how the program counts.  THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL since that is how we are paid.

Would you work HOURLY for a company when they will not show you what kind of clock they are using to count what an hour is?

We are paid by production!  PRODUCTION.  It should not be a mystery how to count our PRODUCTION.

We band together and start our own company offering our services to the hospitals we've been work

on already and take our accounts back from Transcend.  I haven't signed any noncompete contract with Transcend.  Would the MDI one be null and void? If my pay rate is null and void, so must my noncompete.  They can't have it both ways.

But they own the other company and it's a big company. Why would they then start
a competing company in the same state? What do you think they are up to?
You need to give a reason. Not every company
is a good match for every MT and someone may have had a personality conflict or some such thing so then they say it is a bad company.  You need to list facts like they don't pay on time, their line counts are off, sound quality is terrible, etc.
Can you give us the first letter of the company's name.
nm
Can you give me any specifics on this company?
Could you give me any specifics on this company?  I would like to know more.  Thanks.
Does any company give raises?
nm
could you give initials of company? I have been done like this before and
might be the same company.  I FINALLY got paid
yes, MTStars says it is okay to give company name.
nm
you can, and should, give the company name on this board.
nm
again, it's okay and encouraged to give company name
nm
again, per moderator okay to give company name.
nm
For IC status, that's an insult. Can you give us a company name?
x
I have been at Keystrokes a while and have to give kudos to what I think is the best company out the
not always great in the beginning and I left and came back a few years ago. I am so glad that I did. The changes have been wonderful. I think it is refreshing to see a company actually improve over time with growth instead of going downhill.

I agree with you!
Clever way to give-up a company name that doesn't

it's okay to give company names, per moderator.
nm
Maybe the company you work for would give you an advance? sm

Depending upon where you work, how long you have been there, size of the company, etc., that might be a consideration.  Also, maybe other temporary work, like Kelly Girls (if they even have that anymore).  I know we used to have temps in our office that were paid every week.

The pawn shop idea might be a good one.  I think if you don't have the money in 30 days, you can just pay the interest or whatever.  You wouldn't lose the instruments.  If you are willing to part with someone, ebay and Craigslist can provide some quick cash.  Good luck to you.  I am my sole support, and I have been in tight situations before and know how scary that can be.  My heart goes out to you.
