Good luck to you in your new posiiton -- I'm sure you'll love MDI. :-) nm

Good move

Moving to Transtech would be a very good move!

Good move
I have been there for just over 2 months and love it. They are the best company I have ever worked for in my 6 years in this field. I'm sure you'll love it.
I made that move and it was good for me.
And because I was extremely fortunate, I was able to walk away from MQ with no other job at all. I had the entire summer of 2006 to myself with no job demands, and I needed it! After a little re-charging time, I went into TT with both feet, and I love it. There is none of the nonsense that drove me away from MQ after 1/1/06.
sure does not sound like a good move if you are not getting sm
the work types you like and are good at. Sorry to hear you are not happy.
You'll love DRC if you get the job - sm
I work for DRC and it's the best company I've ever worked for as an MT or otherwise. Very accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Wide variety of accounts. Very nice working programs. Pay and benefits are nice too.
If you like OPs you'll love them.nm

You'll love it there.
Good luck with the interview. I tried a lot of companies before, during, and after them but always stayed because they were the best thing going. Sometimes you think the grass is going to be greener on the other side but it is not. Again, best wishes and I hope your hired and like it there. They have a lot of happy employees there because they treat them so well.
You'll love it
The best company I have ever worked for, hands down. There are lots of great posts about them on this forum.
Thinking of going with Keystrokes but need to know if this is a good move
Can anyone tell me anything about Keystrokes? Good to work for, personal, friendly, organized, plenty of work, etc. I really do not want to jump into another bad situation after just getting out of one for the last 8 years. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Congrats! You'll love it!
I have been there a year, and it has been the best year ever for me! It's much better than any other MTSO I have ever worked for! I know you'll love it! Welcome!
Welcom aboard, you'll love it!! nm

I love ExText...calm down..it'll be okay
ExText is extremely easy. You've got your demographics screen...easy...and then you're in your document.  You know what's great about ExText? It's so easy to search for past reports by provider, by patient, by MT.  It's very straight forward and a very easy system to learn in my opinion.  You get past the demo screen, finish the document, ctrl-N, it spellchecks, you're done. Voila!
Awesome choice! You'll love it here!
I have been with KS a little over a year and love it! Congrats and good luck!
I love ExText, others don't. It'll eat a report once in a while, but otherwise it's easy to
s
Yes, it comes with Stedman's built in. You'll love the platform, it's
the easiest I have worked with.
I completely concur. Find a good one, or move on, quickly. No loyalty involved. The don't sm
have any to the MTS.  NONE of them.
As your accounts move to India, they move you to another account. NM
NM
I'll tell you how good it is when you tell me..
where it is so I can apply too!! Heck yeah that's great for rads...even if they didn't count spaces!
Good. Maybe they'll implode..
.
haha, good luck, you'll need it!
zz
IMO, they'll keep a handful of good MTs and offer...
them Editor positions to simply clean up the garbage that will come from their probably 90%+ Indian MT force. Does not take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Plain and simple, these companies are out for $$.
I'll get slammed for this, but I say all U.S. MT's should quit, leave them high and dry, and see how many of their clients dump them. If everyone could stand by their pride and do this, these outsourcing companies would flop. I do understand that there are those who have bills to pay (don't we all), but there are plently of companies out there who do not outsource. U.S. MTs need to accept the fact that in some situations where their company is outsourcing oversease, they are simply being used. Sad, but true. This is only my opinion.
You'll get over the good feelings. I've been here over a year now. (sm)
And if you had seen the subtle changes they have been making, you may agree they are moving in the direction of becoming the new MQ (pre sale to India).
I'll love to know who you work for. I also work every weekend with no extra pay.
It'd be nice to get paid for all the nights and weekends I work.
To be a good RN-you have to love the work. sm
I spent 13 years in the hospital in varying departments, 10 of them as a nurse aide. You can tell which nurses go into it for the money. They don't like to work afternoons, weekends or holidays. They get upset when they get blood or human waste on their uniforms. They can be very rude with the patients. I worked with lots of nurses and my point is, it takes a special nurse to work with sick people 5 days a week and many times over 8 a day. It's not for everybody. If you want to get a feel for nursing, become a CNA first. You can deal with very sick, very contagious patients. You can deal with very nice and also very cantakerous doctors. It's physically demanding, hard on the back, etc. The world needs more kind, caring, patient nurses, not nurses who just love the money earned and yes, it is good. If you love people, take pride in your work and truly don't mind all else that goes along with it-good and bad-then go for RN. But don't just do it for the money. I wanted to be an RN because I loved being a CNA but couldn't continue due to health reasons. I love being an MT because I still am exposed to the medical field, only now I am in the background instead of the front of the field.
Keystrokes is a good one...I love it there...
and only employee positions...
You may have to move on to move ahead (sm)
One way to look at what you are doing right now is more training only you are being paid for it; once you have a year or two under your belt as experience, you may be able to command a higher wage someplace else. It's funny, a place will pay more for someone with 2 years' experience than they will pay someone who has worked for them for 2 years! Go figure.
I work there and love it. Good pay and always on time.
I don't take the health insurance, so can't speak about that. The people are very friendly and helpful.
Ha, ha. I love it. Troll alert! Good one. nm
.
I love QA, but I'd only do it for a good hourly wage that
nm
I love the platform and make good $ on it. SM

I do believe it has to do with the accounts though.  I've used it for 4 hospitals and have made great money, both VR and straight typing.  VR gives me more than double the lines of typing but I do think it is an acquired skill.  Learn the shortcuts and use them.  It is also only as good as the team training the VR.

On the other hand I've used it on a clinic account and the lines were just not coming in like they do in AC.  A very heavy, 90%, ESL verbatim account and I lasted all of 2 weeks on that account.

I'd say I do about 90% VR and 10% straight typing and all in all I'm impressed with the accuracy of the VR.

I love the K. Long reports, good lines.
nm
I make good money with them and love working there. sm
Here is why: I have one account with a backup account that I have only used twice and both times because they needed help not because my primary was slow. I do 1600+ lines in 8 hours. I started at 8 cpl and was raised to 9 cpl at 90 days. I have as much work as I want and while my PTO days are less than the last place I was for 8 years, I make more during the year. I literally made $17K more with KS last year than I did with MQ the year before. I am higher this year.

I love Chartscript. The account I am on is wonderful and yes, I use ShortHand with it.

Good to me? I made $61K last year with them and so far this year, I am at $56K, so I will pass that for sure.

No to paid holidays but if you work them, it is time and a half.

If my account needs extra help, they offer time and a half for weekends.

I would rather work for less per line and be able to do more lines than make more per line but struggle to get 1000 lines in a day.

There are nay-sayers for KS. They are strict on quality and expect everyone to work their schedule. Not all accounts are great, but that's anywhere. The only people I know who left were either let go for either quality or not working their shift or they quit because their lead was about to fire them.
I totally disagree, love VR and can make good money at it
I have been doing now for about 4-5 years and hate it when I have anything straight to type. I have done this for over 30 years, have excellent speed at straight but Escription is a bowl of cherries where I work. I would never want to completely straight type again, never.
That's good news. I love Keystrokes, and I hate to think of them selling. sm
The people are great, and I truly feel that I have finally found a home.  Still, business is business.  I have a friend who has been with Transcend for years and is very happy there, but I want no part of it.  I plan on working until I'm 70, so I'm crossing my fingers that the bottom does fall out for me before then.
I love the company -- great people, good tech support, sm

good benefits.  The pay could be more, but at least there is a production incentive tier that is not too tough to achieve.   Overall, I would say this is probably one of the best places I have ever worked.  If the no work situation continues, I guess I will just have to call them and ask for a secondary.  Everyone in the office has always been very helpful and supportive.   I just get nervous when it is not a holiday or anything and no files are available.  That is just my little thing, I guess.  I still would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone.

Hope this helps.

GOOD GRIEF -Love my company/account, Hate MedRite! Any help?
I love the company I work for, pay, schedule, account.  It has it all.  But they use MedRite.  This is awful!  Was this actually designed for an MT?  This is complicated, SO much mouse-clicking, and so SLOOOW - I am boring myself to sleep.  Typing is easy and quick but moving from report to report - Good Grief!  Is there anyone who has used this?  Are there any tips you could give me?
Love, love, love TransTech! Not overhiring, just growing like crazy!

Been there 9 months and LOVE it!!! Plenty of work, good platform, great staff.
I finally found a home.
If you'll read through past posts you'll find lots of
recent info.  Why do you need menitoring if you already work as an MT.  Unless you do clinic work most companies will require you to work at least one weekend day, at least initially.
If you'll read the archives you'll find out everything
you want to know, none of it good.
No news is good news! If there's a problem, they'll

If you'll read more carefully you'll see
I was referring to AFTER she's missed out on a job, having a friend do sort of an audit to tell her what what was wrong with her test she submitted -- not cheating.
I too love path & can't find it at home & would love to cross-train into rad in the meantime I do

Love this company, love my boss, very informative QA.nm.

Move on from both! nm
nm
Sometime you have to move on for (sm)
your own sanity.  Working under constant pressure is not enjoyable.  It is important for me to like my job.  Unfortunately, I worked for a place and felt like we (many more than just I) were not being told the truth.  I moved on and so did several others I know.  The company lost a few excellent MTs in the process.  I feel you get more with being straight up than moving through a thick smoke screen.  Sorry this is happening to you, I've BTDT.
Why would you just move on? There are a lot of sm
accounts. You are going to base everything on a few bashers. There are over 300 MTs at KS, some who have been there for a very long time.

My advice? Ask for a different account or ask for assistance on the one you are on. They will help you but maybe you need to go over the person you asked.

I have heard that there is a lead who will not pass on information like that because she doesn't want to lose anyone on her accounts. I know that she is not going to be a lead very long either as I have heard that someone else is taking over her accounts. If you email me, I will help or at least will work to get the right person to do it. I know that it isn't one of my accounts as no one has asked for a change on either of mine and most have been on them over 2 years.
move
May be you need to move then!
Move on.
LOTS of better companies out there than TTS.
