I kinda had that same thought, but I tried to stifle it.
I see some of these posts where people brag about making big bucks on their own accounts, and it just boggles my mind because their spelling and grammar are atrocious. Why am I having such a tough time making any money at MT with a 99.8% or higher QA score?
Wow. I thought the first 4 were really easy.
x
I thought it would be easy too!
I had never done radiology before, that is probably why I had so much trouble. I put in the right acronyms but I didn't know how to expand them...and the QA/owner said she would teach me but instead resorted to personal attacks of my lack of knowledge. If you were working physically in the hospital that is probably why it was so much easier for you. I didn't know many of the acronyms. Plus, it didn't help that she sent me improper formatting!
All I know is I took the test, I thought it was very easy
and I failed. I was hoping to find out what I had done wrong. In any event, I'm testing with other companies that transcribe general and legal to get some variety.
I thought the written was fairly easy. The typing test (sm)
was difficult for me because the specialties I was tested on were different than what I'd been working on, plus new docs that I wasn't dialed-in to, yet. Also, since the test is on a temporary platform (Express Scribe) I couldn't slow it down, and one doc was pretty fast. STILL, because of that fact I was allowed to take my time, so I looked up every term I wasn't 100% familiar with, and proofread several times. The hospital I was testing on was a state-of-the-art teaching hospital, so that meant lots of new drugs & procedures; thank goodness for the Internet! Although we are paid on production, QUALITY is the most important thing. I do a lot more proofreading than I did at my previous job, and as a result I often work longer hours to make my line count, but I can break up my day any way I need to, so I'm not chained to my desk. As a result I feel a lot more relaxed than I used to, and my blood pressure has gone down, as well.
I got 100% on the phone interview, and thought the on-line test was easy, but they still didn't h

Took what I thought was an easy test but no response. Sounds like we're not missing much though.
I agree with the other poster. Where are all the decent companies at?
I think she was just trying to stop an unnecessary panic
nm
Starting to panic about using Vonage for LD - need opinions
Thought I was a happy camper waiting for my phone adapter to arrive with my problems for LD solved, ready to give my 2 week notice to MQ - then I found print outs I had from searching for a carrier one other tmie & found one where a bunch of girls using it ended up being knocked off of it too.  I'm really starting to panic.  I have SBC and know all the problems people have had with it - so that's out.  If you're using Vonage - how long have been using it ?  Any problems ?  I tried e-mailing them and got a stupid "canned text" message back.  I really think I'm having a nervous breakdown here and need some suggestions and/or opinions on this.
If management is here, PLEASE address this before we have a panic situation. nm

Please don't panic. Read the cover letter with the rates.
This may not be the final choices, TT CEO and HR are working really hard to find other alternatives. You guys should mention that here along with panicking so that everyone who reads these boards gets the full picture. These may not be all the choices. Also, I just came from another company and their UHC cost more than even these expensive ones, and I was stuck with it. Their rates went up too and so, it is not just us, it is the insurance companies.
Please, wait and see what happens before you all decide in your mind there are no alternatives. There are, we just don't know what they are yet, and the boss did say in all fairness they are working on it.
I agree... is it worth panic and jumping ship?
From what I hear since around Christmas, different MT companies reported increase on open enrollment. This is why I got the job with TT. Now, I find that the rates have gone up and my husband does not have a job which offers insurance, so I have to provide it for the family. I just left a company where I worked pretty much for the insurance and had maybe 900 bucks left over for the month take home. TT's insurance rates are still lower than that was and they went up.
So, I say to myself today, is it worth the panic, stress, and jitters I am having today? How do I know if I go somewhere else it will be as good a company with the opportunity to make better money than anywhere I have been aside from a hospital. Even hospitals are not offering insurance they are taking per diem, if at all, probably IC etc. so they don't have to pay benefits.
I have been thinking about it all since yesterday. I decided I am going to have a mantra today to myself and I will say, hang in there to myself all day. I have resolved not to jump ship at all. This company does give us the ability to make more money, and I will work more time to make up for the difference in insurance costs because I know I can here. They have the work, they pay fair, and they give me the confidence to do so. Anywhere else well, fire to frying pan, you know.
So, I wish everyone luck and if you are stressed today you are not alone. I am making sure for myself and our security in my home, that I will not allow myself to make any rash decisions. Thanks for listening. And hang in there.
No, but first initial is same.

Is this the one with the initial "E" that just skyrocketed its
I think it has to do with BCBS of Tennessee. BTW, you do know that if you use the mail-order company for getting your RXs filled, they arranged with the pharmacies to receive rebates and special discounts, all of which are given back to BCBS of TN?
Company initial
P.  But I also just worked for another company, SGS, that had the same problem of not being able to check line counts...it was a radiology account too with no spell check, no word Expander program, etc.  I had to quit, I wasn't making any money because the program was so poor.
Is that employer's initial FI? nm
nm
a four initial company did this when I was there...sm
and i bailed.....Had to WAIT on QA before they could determine our lines. That is a load of crap.
Why does everyone say TT has so many ESL's. Can you give first initial of account where they are

PS: x's initial reply was respectful

Anyone know of a company, easy clinic work, easy Word format, dependable pay? Help!

How long after initial questionnaire before they get back to you?
I filled out their questionnaire a few days ago, but still have not heard back from them. Not sure if that means they are not interested, or if they just take a while to hear back from. Any info on this company also would be appreciated.
That's awful. Can you give a first initial? I'm applying
nm
Agree. Child at work. Run along, little Initial Capser. nm

A friendly reminder, please do not mention MTSO clients by name or initial. sm
Please see posting rules for guidelines.  Thank you!
I love it. It is fast, easy to learn and easy to use.

Platform very easy and quick - easy to get used to. :)

It's kinda like the Irish.
There are people who feel compelled to set off a bomb just to keep the war going. That's you.

Are you entertained by all of this, and can't bear to not continue the conflict? And here I am, adding to it. Well, actually my issue is with YOU, not the company.
Kinda of late to run away when most of
us were KICKED OUT.
I kinda hope you don't.
I've landed in a similar place and I don't want somebody mucking it up. I, like NorCal, has an exclusive account. It's a wonderful feeling seeing there are 12 jobs there, and knowing I can go pour a cup of coffee, take a shower, check the mail, or even paint my nails and know that those 12 jobs, in no danger of going out of TAT, will be there for me. There are days where the account is light, but they are balanced by the ones that are bountiful. I have no desire to poach on anybody else's account and accept the light days as part of the rhythm of the job. When they add new accounts, I can ask for a piece of that, but until then I respect other people's work, and I sure as heck would hate to see this place turn into your type of snatch-and-grab tactics, because it's great being able to go to the bathroom without worrying about a vulture picking the work carcass clean.
Ew - kinda scary! Thanks for the warning everybody. (nm)

kinda agrees with my point

great new insurance -- NO DETAILS AVAILABLE ---  trust us, we have anonymous posters on a board that say they love working for us.

haha - actually I kinda' like it better as a DO-DO list! nm

Here is my question.. kinda long..
I work as a trainer for a great company; however, the pay is just not there.  I asked for a raise with no response. I have been in the MT business for 20ish years.  I have and do perform QA duties, MT duties, etc when needed, but unfortunately the company I work for does not care.  I truly love working with new MTs and new employees. I just want to find a company that wants the same.  Any suggestions?!
lol...yah, person sounds kinda mad
/
LOL, it DID look kinda like something Focus would do to get applicants....
We all need an occasional giggle...Thinking Focus posted that to attract applicants was pretty entertaining :-)
Kinda like you should check your capitalizations?
Because she's not simply expressing an opinion, she is on a rant about a company she doesn't even intend to work for. If you don't like what you're offered, don't accept. It's that simple.

Sounds like there's a lot more than the MDI offer that has her off to the races.

There are constructive ways to present your argument and there are less constructive ways that make one appear a bit over the edge.

Nice way to pick on another poster's spelling though. I'll bet you're one of those delightful ladies that try to rain on everybody's parade who's happy, too.

Next time, check your own posts very carefully before you squirm in delight at finding a typo in another poster's post.

Have a lovely day :-)
Ever analyze this kinda stuff???
Those ticker-tapes that run along the bottom of the TV screen during news broadcasts, such as local news channels, MSNBC, CNN, HLN, etc?

I love to watch those just to catch all the typos (yes, I sometimes sit and watch the news for an hour to catch the highlights and find myself obsessing over the typos the ticker contains, lol!).
Oracle...nothing. Kinda disappointed.
I thought they liked us?
I kinda don't think they give a rats azz.

Hey if they can get us to work for 8 cent s a line, 150 lines an hour for a whopping $12.00 buck/hr.  Hey!

May even be less and hour as the trend is  going lower than 8 cents a line.  Plus they keep hacking away at the lines counted by reconfiguring the system to give certain letters a value of this or that, or no value.  It is a bad profession.

Sounding kinda paranoid.
Why are you so up in arms? Some of your comments sound like you're a caffeinated conspiracy theorist.

For instance, you think IC's billing statements will be scrutinized.

Uh, I have no problem with my bills being scrutinized. They are absolutely accurate and in keeping with my contract. Why would anybody be concerned unless they were trying to fudge the system, hmmmm?

As far as companies putting Spyware on ... pfffft. I go through a HIPPA compliance training session every year. Takes, what, 10 minutes? I sign the paper. Everybody's happy.

Mountain.

Molehill.

Learn to differentiate the difference and you'll be a much more relaxed person, IMO.
Kinda like being RAPED, and then believing
nm
excited in a scared hopeless kinda way

Yeah, they kinda help to get the message across. Barb, let me
know if you need help finding them.
whoa what kinda mistakes are YOU making?
You work that many hours and I am sure there are a few screw ups here and there in your reports from tiredness. I mean even your posts are very hard to understand.
Not sure why the negativity and sarcasm ... kinda sounds like the old

lover scorned thing ... LOL.   No company can probably say that it never runs out of work, but I have 2 accounts, and have only had to go to my secondary account maybe 10 times in the almost 1 year I have been there now.  At least the management team at TT cares.  I have worked for companies where I ran out of work, and the response I got was a laugh and just take the day off.   At least TT will get you another account.

As far as your remark alluding to the fact that if we were so busy working, we wouldn't be here -- do you work 24/7?  Also, TT is not a sweatshop.  We are allowed breaks.

Maybe you had a bad experience with them.  No company is a great fit for everyone, that's for sure.  I have seen people rave about companies on here, tried them myself, and thought YUCK.

It is only 6 am and my shift doesn't start until 4p, but I guess I shouldn't be posting here since apparently it implies that TT has no work ... LOL.

LOL .. kinda funny when they try to be mean and can't even spell. Good for you. nm

Hmmm...sounds kinda fishy to me.
They need to give you a straight answer.
I kinda have the feeling this is a Cardioscribes account ...
... it just sounds so similar. And if CS is outsourcing to them (and they pay 9 cpl), the 7 cpl would make sense. Not that it's anything close to respectable pay.

Clearly, it's so much more financially intelligent to just go straight to CS if you want this kind of work.
Ya know, I've been kinda depressed about not getting hired by them...
even though I'm sure I did well on their test and got the mass E-mamil stating that there were some evening shifts open and they would get back soon as more positions open. Just reading about how great they are and me not even able to get hired made me feel, inadequate. Maybe, I'm lucky I didn't get hired?
Who says you have to give your correct name/address/etc? I did it .. was kinda fun. nm

Kinda funny huh? Guess no one will get hired, LOL!
Geez people ~ take that off before posting an ad looking for MTs!
