Bridge Documents

I worked for them off and on for the last 3 years.  They are a very good company to work for.  You commit to how many lines you are going to type each day and what time of day you plan to type them.  In turn, they ask that you do only the lines you have committed to, work during the time that you say you are going to work, and you usually can count on having the work there each day to make your line commitment.  By the same token, they require that you type the lines that you have committed to, log in during the time of day you have committed to, which I think is not unreasonable by any means as they do not overstaff which allows you to have the work you need.

All in all, they do not overstaff, you can count on stable work, they are always available to help you, pay is on time (direct deposit every 2 weeks) - never had a late paycheck, and they treat you like family.  In this industry, that is hard to find.

Any Axolotl employees willing to share info., platform, ESL %, etc. All info greatly appreciated. sm

Along with the platform, ESL %, pay range, lpd required, split shift or 12-24 hour window available, I would be interested in knowing your personal experience with this company, what type of relationship you have with supervisors and other coworkers, etc.  Otherwise, the all the 411.

Thanks!

Data-Med, any info appreciated
I tried a search for them and came up with zippo.  I found it strange however, that from the job seeker's board - and they have 2 ads up there, 1 for neuro/pain management and 1 for insurance interviews.  On one of those ads (forget which) it says for more details  1 will take you to a data-med nonmedical position listed in the career center - the other 1 will take you to a MT job posted under clinics (I think) for Focusmatics.  I wonder if they just made a mistake or if they are Focusmatics.
What platform(s) do they use? Any info appreciated.

posting personal info on the net

It's gotten very scary, especially to people who are trying to get a nut case out of their life ie: victims of domestic violence, etc.  I live in a large metropolitan area and our county clerk has property records on the internet.  All you have to do is type a name in and see if you can find who your looking for.

Our local YWCA where I volunteer has tried to stop this, but he says that the records are available in person, always have been..well, it takes a person a lot more effort to go down and dredge through them in person...duh.  So again people, just be careful.

Info to Speed posting.
My speed is pretty much with yours.  Been MTing about 16 years. When I worked in-house, line counts were posted and grafted.  In a pool of 36 MTs, I was always about the middle somewhere, so I am assuming I do average.  If I try to go too fast, my quality suffers and, as we all know, you can't last long in the MT field without that quality.  I, too, am getting a bit older, and I do find I am slowing down even more.  I have only recently started VR, but I can't even do as well with it pay-wise because it takes a tremendous amount of editing.  Also, in my experience, the really good dictators are few and far between whether VR or standard transcription. When you go to VR, you will lose the advantage of any templates you may have created where repetitious dictations are a breeze.  This has certainly hurt my line count.
I wasn't posting for a job reference, was just seeking advice and info. Thanks!

Seriously, what's the point of posting if you're gonna leave out the most vital info? nm

Look over your hiring documents first sm
and if you still feel you are being paid short, report it to the Dept of Labor.
I like this! (please see the smuggled documents above). nm

Medical Reports - legal documents

Does anyone else besides me marvel at how much of a mess medical reports are becoming with offshoring, VR and EMR? Let's compare these reports (which are legal documents) with court transcripts.  The sequence of events that take place for court reporting is 1) court report enters verbatim transcripts into their machine.  It goes to either paper or into a computer.  Then a scopist must transfer it onto the actual transcript while editing. Then a proofer comes in and edits it. Then it gets sent back to the court reporter to sign off.  A deposition can cost upwards of $750.00 for a hour deposition! Now contrast that with what we are getting these days that pass for a comprehensive medical record. Unbelievable.

Do they provide sample documents? If so, it may be worth a shot. nm

Did not burn bridge, was well liked.
Thanks for the encouragement!
looking for Old Bridge Medquist address
Does anyone have the address and phone number for the Old Bridge, NJ office of Medquist?
I have a bridge in San Francisco I think you'd be interested in.
lol
If you believe the answers below, I have a bridge to sell you.
VR produces a big mess & it takes a lot of time to correct it all. I'd hate to see an audit on those flying through it at full speed, and I'd hate to be the patient depending on a quality report.
If your physician jumped off a bridge...
would you jump right behind him? The bottom line is that the only person you can control is yourself. If a physician is not performing his job correctly, guess what? He will eventually lose his license. Why do you continue to try and justify punishing patients simply because people do not want to do their jobs correctly? However you spin it, it's still wrong.
