They believe we each have a responsibility to lessen our carbon footprint on the earth. They give the reimbursement as a reward and a thank you. Another reason I love working for them...it's not all about money and capitalism.

with our job paying us for NO holidays, use PTO earned for sick, holiday pay, and everything else that may come at us in life!  You better believe those inhouse clerks, etc./sups, leads, execs and on and on get their GIFT and a hefty one at that.  Why are we at-home supposed to be satisfied with nothing, but a low-paying job, low work most of the time, requests from company to flex and flex for THEM, but no flexing when the MT needs off.


Yes, I am thankful for a job, and that is exactly what it is . . . . a job (almost).  That is if you consider NO paid HOLIDAYS like all other types of companies give.  Yes, these are hard times, but these hard times are hitting the MT harder and harder each and every year!  It does not affect the office support staff, etc., etc., etc.  They are paid for holidays and whether there is work for the MT or not.  We are piecemeal workers only (similar to sweat shop workers).  Yes, I am thankful that I have a paycheck coming home, BUT I have to WORK VERY HARD for every penny that comes home to me in the form of a paycheck -- without any paid breaks or holidays.  The office staff are the lucky ones -- everything paid for them!


Christmas gift appreciated, but turns out not to be a gift if there is no work the day after

Christmas Day.  Yes, it was $25.00 (twenty-five).  I lost that much this morning when there was NO WORK.  I had so hoped to have a good paycheck this pay period, and was working very hard to have one -- as I need the money SO BAD.


I was appreciative of the $25, rather than some kind of novelty advertising token with company logo on it, like some MTSO's would give to a prospective client, etc.  Oh, yes, I made very good use of the $25.  I took it and paid my high-speed internet bill, a necessary tool for working my job --  which the $25 was very much short of paying that phone charge.

Look at how many are related....
There are several mother/daughters working there, several sisters, etc. You get my point. You know they're getting awesome charts! They send those 5, 12, 22-second charts to the others. Absolutely not fair..... Grrrrr....

I saw something that made me think they were somehow related to MQ.
It was a list of companies, and Medquist was listed, and then another listing with Milner/MedQuist. I'm not sure what it means, but it sure scared me away.
Work Related
On the job injuries, drug screens, employment physicals, workers comp, etc.
You can ask whatever, but it is specifically related
to company rules, regulations, benefits, etc., best to get it from official sources rather than here.
it is probably more account-related
but like with any company, it is going to vary according to patient load and whether the doctors dictate consistently or wait until the charts are going delinquent. This is not like predicting how many hamburgers you can sell in a day. If you believe in this company and how it operates, be brave, get your feet wet! it's not going to be perfect anywhere. You can always ask for back up accounts.
MDI or LANDMARK RELATED?
Does anyone have any idea if MDI and Landmark are affiliated in any way with each other?  It sounds like they both use the same platform (Bayscribe) and have very similar hiring and working practices, so I'm wondering if they are owned by the same people?  Also, is anyone currently working for both of these companies at the same time and if so, how is that woring for you?

Like it or not, this country was founded by and established by Christians. If anyone's offended by that - well, too bad.

By the way, I'm an agnostic and if I'm not offended by the words Christmas and In God We Trust, why would anyone else be? Religion is a personal thing and being offended by a major religion and its doctrine is secular and hypocritical.

I can admit who is responsible for starting this great country of ours and if anyone has a problem with that maybe they should go somewhere and make their own country elsewhere. This one is already here and the facts of how it came about can't be changed.

if what you mean by looking for more is you want someone to tell you it's great, then here - IT'S SO GREAT, I MAKE MAD MONEY THERE, they let me work whenever I want and there is always tons of work and OT offered on all these easy accounts with normals.  I think I'll retire with this company.

One of the main players who was training etc was the owner's girlfriend. Also I believe the main players all came as a group from Softscript, which is another horrid company. This goes back about 6 or 7 years.
Concern is HIPPA related
I guess they had some HIPPA violations when somebody wasn't cleaning out there clipboard. When I preview reports in MEDITECH, they look just fine. I don't know what to do ....

wonderful. This person was a transcriptionist who took over HR. No one liked her and we thought she must be related to Lee, but she wasn't.
You use their computer and you can't use it for anything but work-related reasons

It is interesting that there was an ad to hire with a hiring bonus in the summer and suddenly the work got low and now agree a couple of weeks after another hiring ad the work gets low.

I understand where MTadvocate is coming from.  If you don't keep this information up for everyone to see, then some unsuspecting soul will go to work for Jayne Mattingly (TSI, Transcription Management Systems - whoever she decides to call herself this year), type her heart out and not receive her check.  It's sad that these losers would take advantage of hard workers at a time when the economy is sinking and we all struggle to feed our families.  Instead of paying the attorney 100+ bucks an hour, how about sending us the checks we EARNED.  Seriously, how DO they SLEEP at night??????

And apply those corrections. It is also dependent upon how much your company slashes cpl for VR. The Q makes you place markers to help the speech engine learn, and that slows you down. The 2 other companies I have done VR for don't. I did leave 1 company for VR because they slashed pay from 10-11 cpl transcribed to 4.5-5.5 max MR. And that is not worth my time. JMHO.
All of the WORK RELATED emails, IMs, phone calls, etc...sm
Up until 05/13, I was a production paid MT that was expected to work a very structured, 6.5-hour shift that was to be performed from 9a-4p. HOWEVER, the constant disruptions that came from my supervisor and other staff members (mandatory IMs, emails, phone calls, on-line meetings, etc) was considered non-productive and had to be made up. It took me 8 to 10 hours a day (on a good day) to get in 6.5 hours of transcription! I was then accused of not sticking to my schedule because many of those hours were done in the evening (after the office went home) and I was finally left alone.

Could you even try to imagine anyone else (regardless of profession)being told to stay after their shift was over to make up any time spent performing work related tasks? It doesn't happen and never will!

Why are we expected to be so grateful to be at home when the only difference is demographics? Oh, and maybe a water cooler...

What gift....
I have never received even a card from Precyse and I have worked for them going on 4 years now. The odd thing, however, is that I get a Valentine's day present and an MT week present...maybe they don't celebrate Christmas, who knows.

in appreciation of a year of hard work.  Does Amphion ever send Christmas gifts to MTs?  If so, why gripe?
Christmas Gift
Those morons sent me chocolates for Christmas.  Unfortunatley my son was here to accept delivery.  I would have sent it back.  I'd much rather have my PAY!!!  They have the nerve to have BONUS pay in their ad for new MTs when they can't even pay the ones that are working there now.  I was on their payroll, so it had nothing to do with IC invoicing.  I think they guesstimate at lines because they are never close to what I have actually typed.  Glad I'm done with them!
Christmas Gift?
My gift  was an email from the company wishing me a Merry Christmas and then they sent out emails Christmas Eve and Christmas day asking MTs to log in and work some;-)
