Jobs being sent to India - good companies who don't outsource

I've been working for a company for a few years now.  This company has started to remove several job types with greater turnaround times to India from our exiting accounts.  There was not enough work over the holidays to get in all of my hours (I know work is normally slow then), and this trend is still continuing.  We used to have a primary account and a secondary account as a back-up, but now I'm working on at least 5 or 6 accounts just to have enough work to complete my 8-hour shift.

Companies who outsource to India
Include All Type Transcription in the group that outsource to India; they won't tell you up front but if you do QA you will find out immediately; all the work from India have to be 100% re-listened and re-QA'd - I wonder if All Type realizes a profit from this, after all they are paying India and the US MTs (sounds like double your money spending to me)...just my opinion.

All Type management isn't easy to work with, either. The owner hasn't been an MT for over 10 yrs and her right hand has never done transcription; dontcha just love someone who has never transcribed and only worked in our field for less than 5 yrs, telling you that 100 reports (from India MTs) have to be QA'd daily keeping in mind these are re-listened 100% voice to text!!

Sorry for the rambling, evidently I needed to get that off my chest...LoL
Do not outsource to India, outsource a small amount to Phillipines.

They outsource to India and..
when the recruiter was asked, she said she didn't know that for sure even though it is posted on their website.  When this was pointed out, I still couldn't get her to admit it.  I turned them down because I prefer straight answers and dont' work for companies who outsource to India.
I know they outsource to India sm

Whatever is not done by a certain point at night the send to India so that it is ready to edit in the morning.  I am surprised they are allowed to advertise for MTs on this site, but they DO outsource and I have this from the current recruiter.  They pay their American MTs pretty well, but on the backs of the outsourced stuff from what I can tell.

For the record, I had an offer at the end of last year, didn't take it because it is outsourced.  As long as we support this sort of thing it will continue.  The minute we all refuse to work for a place like that, the sooner it all comes home.

So are you saying they don't outsource to India?
How long have you worked for them?
They outsource to India. Broken down
a lot of times. Management stinks. Its better now with team leaders, but the top dogs are really low class nasty and payroll person is worst there is. Support from office and from the computer end of it is horrible. And don't count on 9 cpl. My friend and I got stuck at 8.5 and now they will not give raises. Accounts are horrible.

They'll outsource to India. nm.
I refuse to work for pay that low. I'm worth more than that.
Does MDI-FL outsource to India? I saw something a while back on here about MDI-FL MTs
not having enough work to keep them busy because when Transcend took over, the work got outsourced to India.  Is this still the case?
Does Transcent outsource to India? nm

Lets see.... they outsource to India, just cut holiday pay..
they change their policy manual so much that there is no way to keep up, the teamleaders are often rude and very sarcastic... I could go on and on.
yeah...if you like the fact that they OUTSOURCE to India..hence their name. nm
nm
offshore (out of country) to India ... not outsource.
nm
outsource to India; not enough work, ran out of constantly; some really nice people, though (nm)
xx
probably because they OUTSOURCE OVERSEAS...perhaps that number is reserved for the India account...?
Good luck to you...
offshore to India, it's OFFSHORE (off shore), not outsource to India.
nm
Especially if your jobs are going to India
is to pad for the future since they have been banned from advertising on MT Stars - thus losing a huge potential job pool.
Well it ain't slow in India where your jobs are going.
xxxx
Which is why India keeps taking our jobs away. nm
.
We need to team up together--India says they will have all of our MT jobs by 2010 (I think)
EVERYONE!!
It is time that we take a stand together and fight for our jobs!! We need to encourage others, especially our younger generations, to work as MTs AND we need to broadcast that the American peoples medical history is going offshore!! Let's not let them take our jobs!! Let's give them a run for their money!! I am not a prejudiced person, but I believe that we should do our own MT reports and they should do their own from their OWN country!!!!! If you are with me, send me an e-mail!!
Most of the companies out there outsource now.

companies who outsource
Do you consider Canadians being outsourcing? With all the Americans out of work does it bother you that companies hire Canadians?
Are companies that outsource allowed
to post job openings on this board? I thought they could not however PeopleSupport Rapidtext, Inc has offices in the Philippines. I was going to apply but now I don't think I will. If anyone can clarify this along with any information about them I would greatly appreciate it.

work is decreasing because VR is replacing 10 MT's with 2 and India et al is taking 2 jobs out
x
SGS, cheap and would rather ship your job to india, where they have 100s of MTs taking our jobs!
Yes, on eScription...making about $5 and hour if lucky!  they quote you a pretty good line rate for typing, but half that for editing, and it's mostly editing.  then, with all the crap they throw at you, (this dr. wants this, be sure to fill in that, don't submit a report w/o this, and 30 pages of account specifics?) it's time consuming.  and the templates are a nightmare, the drs. are all over the place on them, not following them, so when editing them it takes forever.  @ 4cpl you can spend 15 minutes on one and make $1.00.  RUN!
How about this? In a nutshell, which companies DO NOT outsource OFFshore?

Why do you think hospitals pay less for transcription companies who outsource or do VR?
These stinky companies do not want the hospitals to know that is what is going on because they charge the hospital the same rate whether it is a towel head or a machine typing their work versus a real MT. The transcription company just makes a bigger profit margin and finds another way to take money away from the MLS who live and work in the United States.
Doesn't this board not allow posts or ads by companies that outsource?
nnm
do you realize how many companies outsource without the client even knowing?..sm
an extremely high number. Do you think they can get away with this..absolutely. They advertise that the are U.S. based and higher some U.S. MT's and the majority of the work goes overseas. Wake up people, it's called business. It may not be proper, but these large companies are cut throat, particularly the overseas companies. They have struck a gold mine and they know it. Sad part is, they will always find U.S. MTs to keep the company afloat. Without the U.S. MT's busting their rears to produce quality work, these companied would fail. Why can't anyone get this? Ladies (and gentlemen), do not work for any transcription company who outsources work out of the country. Otherwise, this buyout situation will continue, and before you know it, there will be virtually no large U.S. transcription companies left. Unfortunately, we will only have ourselves to blame. Don't be an enabler!
Your anger should be directed at the American Companies who outsource not (sm)
at the offshore employees who are also trying to make money for their families.
Are MTs that are looking for jobs finding good jobs right now with everyone looking or is it
getting more difficult to find a good job.  I am most interested in jobs for experienced MTs with more than 10 years service.  I wonder if it is better to put a resume on or just keeping applying or what is the best way to go about this.
Companies that outsource to other companies?
Anyone know of any reliable companies that will outsource to American companies and pay a decent line rate? I am amazed at what the companies charge and then want to offer in this business anymore.

lots of good technical things, but they outsource overseas
and a lot of their managers are from the old Edix, which is not a good thing, if you want to be treated with respect.

if you do not mind how you are treated, you can do okay. hard getting lines consistently.

my opinion. maybe things have changed, but I have read a lot of negative on here lately.
OUTSOURCE OVERSEAS, OUT OF WORK ALL THE TIME - GOOD LUCK (nm)
xx
Wonder how many MT companies are in India now?

see link for one with the name of Trans Tech

US companies are in India, not simply SM
subcontracting, they are established as companies in India. Large companies. And there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Companies offshoring to India

Why is it so wrong that human beings in India are doing something to lift their country out of poverty?  We are a developed country, so we can't possibly understand this aspect, but it really should be taken into consideration.  If you can truly say that your company outsourcing to other countries has brought you to extreme poverty, as they experience, then I will completely understand the worries.

I have not suffered at all financially in my 12 years of transcription.  In actuality, my income has increased slightly each year.  I have lived a poor life as a single mother until finally being able to put myself through school and getting into this field.  If there's an Indian mother or father who wants a better future for her family and be able to feed her kids, who am I as an American to say no to him/her?  It's not taking away from our families to the point of poverty that their country has to endure.

I used to be one to sit here and worry, but then I had the revelation of how thankful I am that I don't have to drive to work everyday with the gas prices on the rise, that I don't have to pay a babysitter and leave my children with people who may possibly be harmful to them, that I still can put a little money away each paycheck into my savings account towards retirement, that I'm not suffering hardship because of my pay but only because of the economy.

Yes, I am happy to imagine a mother or father and the joy in her/his eyes at the prospect of a real job to provide for her family in such a struggling country.  I am seeing from Someone else's perspective now.

companies offshoring to India
What about the jeopardy of the medical reports with incorrect spellings, dosages, etc. that have been seen with the work produced by Indian labor; i.e. PORN instead of PRN - this is one example that I have heard about more than once.

What about the privacy of patient information and how this is not protected by Indian labor.

Furthermore the large companies are sending the work to India to save labor costs but I do not see them lower the price to their clients. I do see them lower their offer of wages to the US MTs however.

I am not sure about you but I do not want my medical records transcribed in India.
Yes, both of those companies have enough jobs
For all US MTs, right?  They can hire us all and pay us 9 cpl to keep the work in the US?  Honestly, I don't think so, sorry.  I understand what you are trying to do, and good luck with that.  I just think it's too little, too late.
not all companies post jobs here -

why bother being so rude.

Two companies have offered me jobs. sm

Does anyone know about Intellitype or Fast Chart?

Fast Chart seems more professional.  They said Instant Text doesn't work with their system.  Has anyone tried to use it and succeeded?

Intellitype seems more laid back.  Did I read correctly that I submit an invoice for payment?

Any knowledable feedback is appreciated.

There are still plenty of jobs here, but because companies
are competing against companies in other countries (even if the work is inferior) are stuck.   Twenty something years ago I was making 6 cpl/gross line.  I had no experience, no schooling, basically self-taught and on-the-job training.  Today, 20 something years later I'm making 8 cpl/gross line with less benefits.   If we didn't have to compete with India we might have a better wage and benefits.
companies or the actual jobs
Do you mean keep a list of companies that you work for or the jobs you work on. Any company that i get info on i save so that way i have it if i need to find another job.
Wonder why these companies post jobs

with low line rates but requiring years of experience.  Who out there is desperate enough to fall for this?  Maybe they should try an overseas job board somewhere.

I have spoken with different companies from the MT Jobs web site and all
have said they are giving priority to the Heartland employees that have been displaced over someone just window shopping.

They could apply with any of these companies and just put HEARTLAND EMPLOYEE in the subject line and get considered before anyone and they really do not need AAMT's help or a matchmaker company. They can do it themselves. AAMT is one of the reason why they don't have jobs.
Agree. Sometimes I think these companies are just getting jobs done for free. (NM)

Inquiries about companies, jobs, etc. (PLEASE READ)

Please ask about specific companies.  If you are looking for a job, see the Job Seekers board.  There are literally hundreds of job advertisements.  Each one is very descriptive and each one has contact information.  Please research for yourself.  Ask about companies by name but research for yourself.

If you wish, we have a free resume bank for you to post your resume on.

Please do not post asking for good companies or companies that only do certain types of work:  Look at the job ads on the Job Seekers board.  This information is all provided there.

If you have problems or issues, please let me know via email.

With so many IC jobs/companies, would think MTs are buying insurance outside

Why do companies advertise for jobs if they have no work?

I lost my job with a big offshoring company a couple of months ago.  I knew it was coming so I started applying for jobs and sending my resume for posted jobs.  The company that hired me responded to my resume submission within 2 HOURS and I was hired the next day.  They had an immediate need, speciality I love, good pay.  Now, a couple of months later I am getting calls and e mails from companies that I applied to months ago.  One recruiter said, I don't know when we received your application, it was probably 90 days ago.  During this same time period I have seen the Q advertise twice, claiming they have steady work (????)  Of course, after reading posts here I would not even consider any offer from them.  A lady from Spheris e mailed and ask that I let her know a time I could interview some time in the next several weeks.

I don't get it.  If you do not have work, why are you posting jobs?  I would consider this a big red flag.

Good company, NOT in India ..

They do outsource, and the company is NOT in India. The pay was always on time, as well.
