it was pretty calm
for a while, but it was like everything went nuts today for some reason. Then I remembered it's Fri. the 13th and the moon's full. Maybe there's something to that luna tic stuff.
Okay, now calm down, it's okay. I see a hand too sm
when I have the message open, then scroll down to see the list, it is pointing to the one I have open. Do they have rooms with a view there?
Happy: Please calm down.
xxxx
you reall need to calm down..
sometimes people sense that and ignore.
Calm down. It's easy. I know the pay isn't fun,
xx
Calm down, Webbers. This isn't SM
the pay cut you're imagining because you didn't listen to the message. I've been through this before at another MTSO.

It's actually good news in that moving to a more efficient platform means management is working to save our jobs in a very competitive, unstable market by increasing our output, and thus our value to the hospitals.

My prior MTSO changed my accounts from transcription to VR eScription, a platform challenging others with its efficiencies. At first average line counts shot up dramatically, and so did the initial paychecks--definitely happy time for fast learners. As everyone learned the platform, the line rate was adjusted to market rates--i.e., what a company has to pay to get skilled editors. If it hadn't been adjusted, people who had been making $30-60K would have been making many thousands more for the same work.

Now, why I'm at Webmedx these days: My primary account also insisted on offshoring or paying only offshore rates. That MTSO didn't do conferences and webinars, though, but instead kept us completely in the dark about what was happening. There came months of evasions, deceptions, outright lies to direct questions, disappearing work--and further pay cuts--until the day we were finally told the truth and offered a chance to move to other accounts.

Also, unlike WMX, that MTSO had already done extensive offshoring. Since WMX has been keeping its work here all along, I see no reason to doubt their sincerity when they say they will continue to try to do so. I also feel WMX has been as honest with me as I can reasonably expect from a corporation in today's culture.

BTW, let's please keep discourse to a more professional and dignified level. For my part, my relationship with an MTSO is a mutually profitable business one in the employer-employee form. They need the skills I have, and I sell this client my technical expertise, knowledge, judgment, and time. Rude and foolish messages to my client do not speak for me.

Best wishes.
Huh?? I was just thinking how calm the boards had
nm
Just wanted to say, that was a nice calm
and thorough review of a company, no huge emotions, you presented the positives and a negative, didn't ridicule anyone who might have problems, and offered a kind bit of help if needed.  If only everyone posted responses like your's, we'd all have a better picture of our potential employers. Just wanted to say thanks for this thoughtful answer.  I really mean that.
My post was calm as well and meant to
are looking at the big picture and trying to be proactive in all arenas of life.  I will handle my hatred/anger in my own way and at least am healthy enough to recognize that I feel it. Hatred is a valid emotion - it's what you do with the hatred that makes it ugly versus productive.  To date, I have not honestly met an Indian phone rep who has been able to help me efficiently.  Some have seemed to grasp my needs, only for me to hang up and find out later they were clueless to my situation.  Yes, Indians do understand and are quite accepting when I explain that I wish to speak to a US worker. The US workers always ALWAYS thank me for asking for them, as it does help them with job security. Again, I said I do it in a friendly and kind manner - if the truth hurts the Indian worker, that is not my fault. And yes, if all of us did that every day, you would quickly see the Indian call service centers crumble.  That will happen a lot faster than trying to lobby politically or contact my congressman! That's a waste of time - been there, done that. You choose your plan of action and I choose mine. So far, mine is working for me.  I found a great job with a great company and I can sleep a bit better at night knowing that I am taking a stand, albeit a friendly one, for our country and our workers, our families.  You pointed out something, as did I.
The calm happy MTs you speak of

But that's OK.  You'll find out how professionally perfect you feel when your wages are cut, your platform is turned inside out and upside down, your primary account is leaving and you are only informed of it the day they go, you have no work, and you're expected to be grateful to still have a job.  Then you can come here crying about it and find a clone of yourself to tell you its you're own fault and you're probably incompetent, and sneer at you for having victim mentality to rub salt in your wounds.

Clients and MTSOs consider us faceless nobodys, and have better things to do than read this board.  They frankly don't care what we say, good or bad.  All we have to talk to is one another.

I love ExText...calm down..it'll be okay
ExText is extremely easy. You've got your demographics screen...easy...and then you're in your document.  You know what's great about ExText? It's so easy to search for past reports by provider, by patient, by MT.  It's very straight forward and a very easy system to learn in my opinion.  You get past the demo screen, finish the document, ctrl-N, it spellchecks, you're done. Voila!
Wow....calm down. She simply stated it wrong..
All you have to do is say don't you mean...

Take a Xanax lately? Just a thought.
Where is the flame. It was only stated that you had incorrect info. Calm down a little
We can see you dont like the company but there are those that do like it.

We can state our opinions as well.

No one was flaming you.
I did for awhile
They pay by the page and when you break it down, it's about 5 cents a line.
No, it was awhile ago.
She called one day to set up an interview for the next. She never called. I sat and waited figuring she got busy and would be a little late, but nope.
I do, I've been with them for awhile.
v
OK, since you've been there awhile.
I'll give you that one - maybe I just haven't given it enough time. I've just had a LOT of trouble lately with technical issues, and that, in combination with learning new docs, can be a challenge. So, I guess they need to be given a chance. At least one thing is good - I'm busy as I could possibly want to be with them ... let's just hope it stays that way!
I quit my job awhile ago and am still SM

waiting for last check.  I've been informed that I have to wait until normal direct deposit day like everyone else.  I didn't argue with this person (figured it'd be a waste of my time), but aren't they supposed to--by law--pay you within 1 business day if you give them at least 3 days' notice?  I gave them 2 weeks' notice.

This happened to me a couple other times as well (with other MT companies).  I wonder why they think they don't have to obey the law??

Oh well, that's life!  I'm just glad I'm outta there! :)

Just Me

I worked for them as an IC for quite awhile
none of us ICs on the account I was on could log in. They just wiped us all out. Now, I know that's life as an IC, but not really - we sign a contract agreeing to work for them. They are supposed to give us notice or we are supposed to give them notice to terminate the contract. They didn't follow their end - pretty sad. I tried e-mailing and calling, no one would answer. Now, they're posting for a southern CA account with no ICs??? I think almost all of us that worked that account for them were ICs. Just got trained as an Editor - for nothing. Pitiful excuse for a company.
Thanks ... it will be awhile before I go to Vista anyway. nm

He left quite awhile ago...
Didn't sell it, just is heading up another offshore type company.
Work for awhile
I work for Medware and unless they lose their biggest account there will still be work here. Who knows though. It was a great company to work for!
not that I know of; employed there awhile.
x
Ochsner New Orleans was down for awhile..
they are coming in again. Ochsner Baton Rouge stayed up and running.
I haven't worked there in awhile but sm
It was a definite trade-off. The pay was just not good at all. However, on the plus side, they were good to work with and they assigned accounts that weren't bad. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay at that $$ and had to move on. You will have to weigh how much $$ you need, but I was nowhere near 9 or 10 cpl with over 10 yrs experience.
I got caught in a new job awhile back
that went dry for months and it really hurt me financially. Loved the job, loved the people but was on the brink of bankruptcy. My advice would be to keep the sure thing in these economic times. Good luck to you whatever you do.
I did, but it has been awhile. The quality of the work was

horrendous and it would have been easier to retype reports than to correct them.  The MTs kept making the same mistakes over and over again.  They also had some accounts that ESL didn't come close to describing them.  I am very good with ESL and routinely transcribe 85-90% ESLs, but these were some of the worst I've every come across, plus the sound quality was pitiful.

If you open your original post and towards the bottom click on related posts you'll find lots of info about SS as a company, that would be enough to help you decide if you want to work there at all.

Could you share your line rate? And keep you old job for awhile.
Sounds like you had better keep your old job until you see how much work you will get on DQS and how much you can make. It probably will be slow at first.
I worked there for awhile, couldn't make any sm
decent money. They changed their QA and guidelines and I made even less due to extra proofing, looking up in their Style book and the BOS which oftentimes conflicted. Their spellchecker was full of misspelled words.  Drugs were way outdated. Couldn't use my own word expander. Took about three weeks to get feedback sheets and sample reports. Wasn't worth it. I figured if I had to produce a superbly quality document, I would go elsewhere for more money.
I worked there part-time for awhile. sm
IC status, pay definitely on the low side, but I did clinic work and it was fairly easy with easy dictators.  They pay weekly and always on time.  Great people to work with.
I know they have been hiring on that account awhile so there is probably work. But,
I did refer a friend and they put her on that program to which she did not stay long and was very unhappy with her line count. She said it was a third of what she normally made so she quit. Honestly, I have never worked on that platform so I am not sure if she had a valid complaint or not or what else she was comparing it to. I say if the work is there, which I would think if they are offering a bonus, I would try it out and see if it works for you. It sounds like with your experience you would know the difference in line counts.
I have watched your posts for awhile and have debated about saying anything. sm

It is just my perception, of course, but your posts almost always seem rude and condescending, and I certainly hope that people do not think all of us who have been doing this for awhile think the way that you think.

Even those of us with wonderful jobs all have days where we want to scream and throw something and maybe need to vent a little with others who will understand.   I know my non-MT friends really do not have a clue when I want to blast off about some motor mouth or poor sound quality or whatever the gripe of the day might be.

And what is wrong with a sense of entitlement?  We are all entitled to the best that we can find for ourselves, at least that is how I was raised to think.  I realize that part of the job is doing the cruddy dictators and all of that, but do not think for one minute that I wouldn't take a dream job that paid well and had wonderful dictators and YES, think I was entitled to it for all of the hard work I have put in over the years.

Maybe this other person's boss IS a mental case -- who knows?  I know some days I feel that I am one too.  Maybe you should cut people some slack and try answering with compassion instead of rudeness and condemnation.   Everyone has a bad day.

However, for me, this is a beautiful day and I am going to get off of here and enjoy some time away from the keyboard.  Good luck to everyone in finding the perfect fit jobwise :-)

Haha -- took me awhile, but I finally got it .. funny. nm

I did mostly car accidents and it really made me paranoid about driving for awhile, but I sure sm
knew if there was a solid yellow line, if my lights were on, if I had my seatbelt on, etc. lol
Maybe on your accts, especially if you've been there awhile. I think the newest hires are getting
s
I have been there awhile. The good posts are because over the past few years sm
they have really worked hard to improve employee relationships and it has worked. There are no problems there anymore. They used to say they were growing pains and we all wondered how long they could say that. Now I am glad I stuck it out because all the old problems (and I mean old being over 2 years or more) are gone. Great company to work for.
I worked for them PT awhile back -- 20 hours a week min., I think. nm

Awhile back, someone posted about a company that considered sm

30 hours a week to be FT with benefits.  Does anyone remember the name of that company?

Thanks so much.

Work both jobs for awhile, part time for the new one. Most
of the MTSO will understand your reluctance to quit your old job until you are sure the new one will work. I have worked for two companies in the past year and told both that I would have to work part time until I was comfortable quitting my old job. I ended up keeping my old job because the new ones didn't work out. Also, 1 cpl decrease in pay isn't that much to make up if the work is good. Hopefully, you won't have to sit around waiting for work, and you can follow the BOS which will be easier for you and probably help you transcribe fater.
Awhile back they got a New York account that everybody is fussing about the ESLs
x
Ugh .. that's not good news. They offered me a position awhile back sm
but I went somewhere else.  Now they sent me a thing again, listing their benefits, and it sounded pretty nice.  I guess there is no such thing as the perfect job.
You put it in all caps. You need to calm down. Caps means yelling.
Liar is slander and I hope you did not use your real initials.
don't like ASR/VSR -- all work going that direction -- causing very low work situation for awhile
Just a little message since you asked.  Hardly any regular paid transcription work left for TT MT's (transcribing as in the old days, I am speaking of).
