know what you are talking about, but we do have freedom of speech.  You can vote to get a post deleted by clicking on the blue vote/moderate button.  It takes 10 votes to get post removed - not 10 votes from same person though.

but I'm not comfortable with it right now.  I have to cover my bases so I'm not the one getting libeled.  The managers in charge when I left sure knew how I felt about them posing on here and misleading, so I guess that cat was already let out of the bag.  Its just been months now and I moved on, or thought I had, but got infuriated when I stopped by today and see them back at their old tricks, sucking in more new victims.  It just is so unfair for us. As MTs and as US working class, nobody can take chances like this on a loser company.  Suffice it to say its a company discussed frequently and it has a huge turnover rate, though that is always denied and hidden. In fact, they brag the opposite. 
Agree, but it wasn't the company mentioned in this thread.

She explains fully and in great detail how this could potentially affect her area, MTSOs, MTs, etc. Who is being vindictive? You're trying to stir up something and make no sense! Maybe Linda?? And comparing what sounds like a huge scandal, complete with convictions and fraud, to "a mistake"?  Trivializing a bit, don't ya think?

I have already called the management company who manages this building. They have no knowledge of a JAX Transcription who currently occupies or who will be occupying.

I need the suite number in order to check it out. There are several businesses in that office building. The rent in that building is very high...doubtful that a new company would start out in that building because of this.

If I have the suite number, I can go and see who actually occupies the suite. BUT, according to the management company, there is no such company in their building. This is the same building that Transcend is in. I have called Transcend and they have never heard of this Company. If you call the phone number that is provided in the posting by this company, you will get a regular answering machine. I think this is totally bogus.

I applied for a position with Transform. Sent my resume a week or two ago. This morning, my email program told me that my email was deleted before even being read. And the email was sent to Lisa.

It wasn't about the hearing test. Holy crap! It was a comment made that a woman's husband's company makes people sign something saying they can go into their past medical history. they don't want to hire them if they think they will make too many insurance claims.

That would unfairly bias the sick and the elderly.

OMG-this thread is ridiculous! I only read a few
posts but good grief.  With this much animosity in this company, no wonder it sucks to work for them.  As for the TTCEO, shame on you, your post isn't funny even if it was meant to be a joke, which hopefully it was or you are a very selfish and dangerous person to know in this business and I sure hope I don't ever come in contact with you!  As for the grow up versus grow-up poster, get a life-who cares how its spelled for cripes sake!  Out of this mile long thread that is all you can get out of it?

Several of us have directly emailed our liaisons and D, and have had absolutely no response.

Considering the fact more than one account has been without any appreciable work for over a month, I don't believe the speculation is all that 'wild.'

I removed the thread about the recruiter as it was too identifying.  Some even used initials.


I want to point out two things: 


1.  Everyone is allowed to post their opinions.  If you disagree, say so, but do so without the name-calling.  It doesn't matter if you are supporting or disagreeing, stop the name-calling.


2.  If you post your name or list any moniker at all, do not be surprised when someone uses it.  This is a public open forum.  Anything you post is open to reply.  If you don't want your information used by others replying to you, then just don't put it out there.

amazed that nobody had called you a liar yet.  I knew it was coming.  It is human nature to be envious. 


I for one believe you, and I'm glad somebody is still making some money in this field. It gives me a little shimmer of hope.

there are threads on pages on this company board that are not positive. however, people tend to post negative rather than positive at this site.

people are not going to do your searching for you. do not assume because no one answered your question it is positive sign.

I wasn't aware of it either but I read a post on here
that Acusis had cut the editor's pay by 3 cpl and they wouldn't doubt that the MTs are next. I have been doing VR and it pays only about 65% of your current line rate. They say you get lines faster but I am not finding if faster at all.

I wasn't saying that we do not have enough people on the accounts. I was saying that we do not r

out of work and it is always busy.  Lee is the owner but the managers "run the show".  She is sales not HR.   She took over calls for a few days when Karen and Keystrokes parted ways.  Becky is the one to talk to at the office.  Lee is out of town on sales calls and client visits too much to handle that.  You should call the office at 630-739-5520.  Perhaps you misunderstood that you were hired?  She hired a transcriptionist that I used to work with and she has been working for a month now, starting two days after she was hired. 


Becky is wonderful and can help anyone who needs help.  Did you ever leave a message with the office or did you call Lee at her direct line? 


I am not involved in this end but am friends with a manager (worked with her for 5 years at a hospital) and know that HR is not Lee's strong point - it is a full time job and she already works 12 hour days.

were griping about the KS cheerleaders? I think there are several happy KS-ers on the board.

I agree with your point about the hospital platforms. I think that's why there are so many different experiences with KS expressed. Depends on what platform and account they're using.

But it doesn't matter. If we have anything negative or positive to say about ANY company whatsoever, we're either recruiters or disgruntled ex-employees. I didn't get called out because there was nothing to call out on. Please, take your senseless accusations elsewhere. The board administrators know exactly who I am, so they can back me up when I say that I'm not a recruiter. I'm (GASP!) a happy employee FINALLY after ages of searching for the right company!!!!

but I always thought a transcriber was the piece of equipment on my desk.  The other poster is right, though -- better than typist .. UGH. 
No, you are not hearing concern. You are hearing that

MTs are not sheep to be led to the slaughter.  I am a CMT.  It is wrong to force CMT status.  Even MTSO owners for the majority are not certified.  What next for them?   They will be required to be certified or they will not start a company and they will only hire CMTs?  Don't you see where this is leading?  Hell, you can choose to abort a baby in today's economy.  You can't even choose not to be credentialed?  A slippery and dangerous slope here to be sure. 


I praise these MTs who are willing to stand up and not shut up.  AHDI and MTIA are no friends of the MT community.  It's time we shut them up...way past time.

The *original* poster was complaining about a last minute notice of DOUBLE PREMIUMS.

She ALSO complained about the pay dates.

The RESPONDER chose to *only* comment on the pay dates, *not the main point* which was the double premium.

I poste you conveniently ignored the MAIN point, because that person DID NOT address the double premium issue.

She clearly did - and what is so clear by this thread is that you at KS stand by the handbook after the fact when all you had to do was REMIND people in advance of the extra deduction.

Yes, things may be in the handbook - but people HARDLY MEMORIZE THEM!! In this economy, it would have been the *considerate* thing to do!

Just so happy I don't work for the snarks at KS!

Oh my goodness...why can't people read
what is written? I know that you are part of the management team of the company, but for goodness sake, can you please get it right? I said I FINALLY received payment of the first check when the answer to why I was not paid was I just didn't do it, etc. The second payment is still not here. I think what speaks volumes are people like you - who told me that you come here and post and bad mouth those people that you feel are bad mouthing you - and think that no one will notice. I have another job with a company that pays their bills and pays their people and do not hire people simply to get their backlog down and then screw them. I have said nothing that cannot be backed up by voice mails, emails, instant messages,etc. from either management or a management representative. Also - you can accuse me of tact not being a virtue that I possess, but honesty is far from what you displayed. The fact that there were others who never were paid as well speaks volumes.
I wish people read these posts correctly.
I am amazed that people here do not read the postings correctly and assume and go on and on about something that was not said in the first place. NEVER was the person posting about her father dying told to suck it up, NEVER. Arent we all transcriptionists and we have to listen and transcribe correctly what is heard? I am totally amazed myself that this just went on and on and it was NEVER said to the person whose father died.

attack people by name.  In Lee's defense, she has over 200 people working for Keystrokes now and accounts in a lot of different states.  As managers, we have started taking on more of the day-to-day and HR and the clerical staff take care of the transcriptionists.  It is a hard thing to learn as an entrepreneur but delegating is very important.  We are finally seeing her do this, and things are much smoother.  One person simply cannot do it all in a company of this size.  I wouldn't want to own my own company for that reason.  The hours she works would kill me and I would be divorced.  The constant travel of this year would cause most people to take days off after each trip, but I have talked to her hours after she got in from a one-day trip for a meeting to sign a contract and while tired, she is still out there making sure that our jobs are secure.


No one was out to get you or to mess up your life.  I am sure that there is more to the story than you are saying but I find it hard to believe that you were ignored.  I personally talk to each person hired for one of my accounts and make sure that they have all that they need. 


If you came during a hectic time and felt you were not treated fairly, on behalf of the company, I apologize.  However, and this is not an excuse, with the growth that Keystrokes has experienced, there are bound to be hectic times and bound to be changes.  I, for one, am glad that the changes make Keystrokes a better place to work.  I hope that someday Keystrokes replaces MQ and Spheris at the top of the national companies and know that if they do not, it is because they refuse to compromise and hurt the transcriptionists. 


Life is about choices.  Mine has worked well for me.  We should all help each other rather than carry around so much negativity.

I never told HER to suck it up. Why don’t you read postings correctly. Can you not make a distinction between me saying I JUST SUCKED IT UP as telling about my vacation and you saying something entirely different? What is the matter with the posters here? poor quality, poor work ethics, cherry picking, disappearing for days on end, not covering their shifts or line counts, crazy HR people (both were nuts and evil). 


Good and bad at every company including KST, MQ, Spheris, Transcend, etc. 


That wasn't my experience there. I wasn't on that kind of all-inclusive acct, either. nm

This stufff does NOT go on in all companies. I think the major problem here is with the QA person and the practices OSi has. It is not with other employees, because for the most part all of the OSI employees on most issues except those that are "brown noses" and by the way if you don't want to hear this stuff on here, dont come on this BOARD. Simple as that. "kiss-up,, kiss-up some more"
not hearing back
This is positively not true! When hired all MTs are told the process of hiring, and what the next step is. In the e-mail that is sent out by the office, the AA specifically outlines what the next step is. It takes a while to get IDs from some accounts, and people are informed about that from the very beginning when they are hired.

Please before you post get facts straight, and if someone has not been contacted, then they need to call the office and ask for the HR Director, she will contact the appropriate person to help with any problems.

Also, the ones I am hearing back from are
to start, and many not paying for spaces or anything. It seems like the more a company wants from you, the less they want to pay, I've noticed. If they have a bunch of restrictions in their ads, you can bet they pay crap.

What's up with that?? One ad stated no this, no that, must do this, must do that, must have this, must have that, must purchase this, must purchase that. Then I finally heard from them, tested with them, and after all this and that, they were offering 6 cpl. Yeah, right! lol

Know what I told them? I told them that I believed my 17+ years of experience were worth a whole lot more than 6 cpl, but good luck in their search.
hearing loss
Because of recent events, I am pretty sure I have developed some tone deafness.  I am going to have it checked out, of course, but feel frightened about my future as an MT.  I'm not young!  Wondering if anyone else has faced this and what happened.  Is there special equipment we can use, etc.?
hearing problem!!
I have developed a bit of a hearing problem and finding it hard to distinguish sound-alikes.  I was wondering if anyone works with a hearing problem or uses some sort of hearing device and what kind, where to find it, etc.  I'm more than a little worried here.

Don't give up yet.  Ditch the transcriptionist-type headphones and get some good stereo headphones or even a cheap pair from big lots.  The difference in hearing will amaze you.  They all vary immensely.  I don't have a hearing problem but did have an external noise problem with a now-ex-husband and Aiwa Noise Cancelling headphones made the marriage last an extra year.  Now I go to Big Lots and experiment with alternative, smaller, lighter, any kind of headsets and have found some really great quality headphones for about $1 to $2.  They may not last long but who cares.  You will never go back to Transcriptionist headsets.  I still use the Aiwa headset for dictators that whisper.  Got those on ebay for $20. 
Hearing back from
You will get a call from them if you pass the test. Otherwise you will not hear anything. That is what I was told by them. Supposedly many happy MTs there despite the very low pay.
I LOVED hearing this!

And I love the idea of people being made to pay for their own foolishness and cheapness!  Serves him right! 


But, what makes VR seem like a good idea is that when it does not need to be on constant life support and works just a LITTLE better, an employer still gets our expertise as editors for a fraction of what we used to be paid as MTs.  And many of us believe the propaganda put out by our MTSO that, sure we'll take a 50% or more cut in pay, but be able to do 3 times as many lines, so the switch will be a GOOD thing and bring us more money.  They have to try to sell us on the win/win scenario because otherwise nobody would give it a chance. 


Not hearing from supervisor

I do not hear from my supervisor unless she has made a change to the account specs and is letting me know about it or if she needs me to switch accounts.  I like to be left alone so I can do my work.


hearing test?
I'm deaf in one ear all my life. I've been an MT for 25 years, have never had any problems except the kind every MT has when there's static, crackling, background clanging, etc. I've never had to take a hearing test for a hospital job or one for a national. I've had a couple of hearing tests on my own but I have sensorineural loss and a hearing aid doesn't help. I just always wanted to be able to listen to music via stereo but I'll always be monaural--music still sounds great to me.

whining and griping and complaining about the same old same old!!! That's why! And if it agitates YOU to think about finding another flippin' job, then so what! I really don't care! I say, if your job stresses you out this much, it is very easy to look elsewhere.  There are only TONS and TONS of other places to work, so...find another J-O-B! Simple as that! And quit yer whining, why don't cha?
Anyone else sending out resumes and hearing nothing?
I have 16 years in the business and 4-5 years editing experience, but am just not hearing back from companies advertising on the boards.  Maybe they are receiving 100s of resumes...or is it just me?  Anyone know of a company looking for an editor, please email me.  Thanks!
