there are threads on pages on this company board that are not positive. however, people tend to post negative rather than positive at this site.

people are not going to do your searching for you. do not assume because no one answered your question it is positive sign.

for example, here's a thread at page 10.

http://forum.mtstars.com/company/v/1/94910.html

good luck.

I do not believe this: This means that you read 11 pages
in half an hour?
One page has 40 lines.

This is a ridiculous statement.
I bet you cannot even read that fast WITHOUT having to make corrections!!!

It is good to be pro-VR, but don't push it with such hilarious pretenses.

I believe if you read the thread that

someone posted below you'll get the good, the bad, and the ugly.  As far as the nasty person I believe she has been talked to as things are better.  .

There were pages of VERY negative posts about them, in the high teen-20s pages on
s
Obviously, if you had read the thread, YES, she is affected!
She explains fully and in great detail how this could potentially affect her area, MTSOs, MTs, etc. Who is being vindictive? You're trying to stir up something and make no sense! Maybe Linda?? And comparing what sounds like a huge scandal, complete with convictions and fraud, to "a mistake"?  Trivializing a bit, don't ya think?
You need to read the entire thread
then you would know that I only drew the difference in what I made and what my weekly unemployment amount was - and applied for other jobs - offered a lot of IC work, but I already had that.
Read all posts in this thread...
I have already called the management company who manages this building. They have no knowledge of a JAX Transcription who currently occupies or who will be occupying.

I need the suite number in order to check it out. There are several businesses in that office building. The rent in that building is very high...doubtful that a new company would start out in that building because of this.

If I have the suite number, I can go and see who actually occupies the suite. BUT, according to the management company, there is no such company in their building. This is the same building that Transcend is in. I have called Transcend and they have never heard of this Company. If you call the phone number that is provided in the posting by this company, you will get a regular answering machine. I think this is totally bogus.
RE: The Lisa thread... read this
I applied for a position with Transform. Sent my resume a week or two ago. This morning, my email program told me that my email was deleted before even being read. And the email was sent to Lisa.
Because YOU didn't read the thread... sm
It wasn't about the hearing test. Holy crap! It was a comment made that a woman's husband's company makes people sign something saying they can go into their past medical history. they don't want to hire them if they think they will make too many insurance claims.

That would unfairly bias the sick and the elderly.

Did you read this thread from the beginning, so that
you know what it is all about?
Do not jump in in the middle of a thread!
We all know that we can creat a 2nd email address for ourselves on our computer.
The discussion was about something completely different.
Read the thread from the beginning and then comment.

OMG-this thread is ridiculous! I only read a few
posts but good grief.  With this much animosity in this company, no wonder it sucks to work for them.  As for the TTCEO, shame on you, your post isn't funny even if it was meant to be a joke, which hopefully it was or you are a very selfish and dangerous person to know in this business and I sure hope I don't ever come in contact with you!  As for the grow up versus grow-up poster, get a life-who cares how its spelled for cripes sake!  Out of this mile long thread that is all you can get out of it?
Yes, please read the entire thread
Several of us have directly emailed our liaisons and D, and have had absolutely no response.

Considering the fact more than one account has been without any appreciable work for over a month, I don't believe the speculation is all that 'wild.'
not okay for me to get angry but okay for her to antagonize, read the whole thread
if she talks like that to someone face to face she deserves to get her teeth knocked out.
Recruiter thread removed; please read. (SM)

I removed the thread about the recruiter as it was too identifying.  Some even used initials.

I want to point out two things:

1.  Everyone is allowed to post their opinions.  If you disagree, say so, but do so without the name-calling.  It doesn't matter if you are supporting or disagreeing, stop the name-calling.

2.  If you post your name or list any moniker at all, do not be surprised when someone uses it.  This is a public open forum.  Anything you post is open to reply.  If you don't want your information used by others replying to you, then just don't put it out there.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

I read this thread earlier today and I was

amazed that nobody had called you a liar yet.  I knew it was coming.  It is human nature to be envious.

I for one believe you, and I'm glad somebody is still making some money in this field. It gives me a little shimmer of hope.

Okay, okay....Please read inside.
I posted the Irish statement. BUT, there's some background here.

I'm heavily involved in all things Irish in various venues and have been for years. My statement came from a comment a friend made about our trip to Belfast next April. He was stating to his wife that, while we were staying in a very nice area, across the street is was "the troubles," and so we had to be careful with the children, to not let them wander without us.

For those of you who understand Irish history, you know what I'm talking about.

I simply was referring to the history the Irish have had for centuries, one side fighting the other while all the while being a steadfast and kind people themselves--kinda like we MTs. We're a family, but boy can we throw a bomb or two at our relatives without a moment's hesitation, starting a fight all over again, and at times just for the fun of the fight. You agree?

So, everyone please calm down. My statements were said not out of bigotry or hatred, but out of pure historical fact. The Irish are a fiery, feisty, and adorable people who can't seem to fight fair.

I have been an MT for about 7 years now, and I  started working for a national company about 2 1/2 months ago part time.  I really enjoy the work, and I am glad to get back into acute care work since I have been doing mostly clinic work for 2 years.  I am still not meeting my line requirements yet.  Some days are better than others; it all depends on the dictators.  The company has been really flexible and said that I am doing fine and showing steady improvement.

Has anyone else been in this same boat or is it just me?  My pay is more and more each pay period as my line count goes up, but I just get frustrated because I seem to be getting nowhere sometimes.  Hope someone has some insight on this.

Please contact the website where they are advertising.  After informing them of a problem I had with a company - not only did I get my back pay but they cannot advertise anymore     - They encourage MTs to do this.
OMG PEOPLE... it wasn't the hearing.. you have to read the thread
It was the looking into medical records to see if you would be costing them too much insurance.

Anyone know of a Montana, I think I read it here-- see inside
A Montana company that is good to MTs, does not go in for voice recognition and etc?

I thought I read it here about a month ago and I looked up and found the above information on the web site. But I cannot locate it now. Any help would be good. It sounded like a good company that was interested in the MT and providing what an MT needed, and not investing in tech or voice recognition as a goal. Thank you. You can e-mail me, if you like.

It does make a difference whether you work a schedule or not. According to the IRS, if you are an IC but are told what hours you are to work, then you are considered an employee and the company could get into major trouble and have to pay taxes, etc. A true IC sets their own schedule. Hope that helps!
Please read: Inside is what we are being told
This is exactly what we are being told. See below:

this is more of a census issue. The thinking is that because brand-new deductibles hit in January, people are putting off going to the doctor's office and putting off having needed procedures done as they pay off the 2007 bills, etc. during this month.

That paragraph is straight from managment.

Thanks

JLG IS DISHONEST

I just completed an interview process with JLG. The owner presents herself as an MT who understands our situations. But they are very dishonest. Do not trust them. They are liars. I just wish I could find some honesty in this business. I have been in it for 20 years. It used to be a professional career with integrity, but not anymore. The disadvantage of working over the internet is that companies do not see you as a person, but as a computer, or a typist. They don't have to look into our eyes when they lie. They just really don't care. Thanks for listening.

Will we be able to see all the pages?
Cannot go to the 2nd page now.
well done! this could go 10 pages, lol.
/
they only had 100 pages to type!

I already have a job.  If I were trying to nab a full time job, I would have been more careful, but the woman told me she needed someone to help out ASAP, like this afternoon.... so I squeezed in the typing test during my regular work.  She needs help with 100 reports and then bye bye, so I really didn't think spongebob would make a difference to her.

Look on pages 9, 10, 11 of the archives,
there's more info there too.
Yep saw that. They think 10-15 pages an hour.?? sm
This is to coincide with their proposed hourly pay. They get their calculators out and think HEY this sounds good.

They have absolutely no IDEA how long a page takes and what expertise is involved. $1.10 a page. They equate women with typing and this shows value (under-valued, second class, purchased commodity.
Look through the yellow pages of your local

phone book and call agents that offer health insurance.  Make several calls.  I did this when we needed private insurance and each call I made I got a lower premium, although every company had the very same insurance.  Celtic is what we found to be the lowest.  We no longer have this insurance as we have insurance through DH job, but we had no existing conditions, no regular meds, nonsmokers, so I'm not sure if these were covered.   I'd keep calling about COBRA.  The company has to offer it.   If you go 45 days without insurance and have a pre-existing condition you are in trouble, unless things have changed since we got insurance.  There is a temporary insurance through Fortis that is very cheap, but the deductible is very high and it doesn't cover pre-existing conditions.

I'd stay away from the association for the self-employed or whatever it is called.  When I called them their rates were double what I could get a private policy for and it was the same insurance.

Go thru the last 4 pages here. They have been discussed recently. nm
s
Any way you can search recent pages w/o having to go to each one
xx
Scroll down a couple pages (sm)
There are a few posts about them, nothing good that I saw.  I do remember complaints about not enough work and the owner needing to sharpen up on his communication and people skills.
What? There are a ton of TT MTs posting here. Scroll through the last few pages.
I would estimate that 95% of what you see posted here about TT is positive.
I agree 10 pages to long sm

A while back I applied with a co who sent me a 45 min test file.  I did 20 minutes of the file and sent it back.  I explained that I felt 45 minutes was excessive.  They asked me to work for them.  So you never know.

That being said, I saw WPU's ad  and $1.25 per page is low.  If you haven't done it before, you'll make less than $10 an hour to start.  If you're decent and can do 10 pages in an hour, you'll make 12.50 an hour.  If you're really good and can do 20 pages in an hour, then you're still only making $25 an hour - for being really good - and that's low in my book.  IMO

then why is it not posted on financial web pages?
No info from Forbes, Reuters...
or as soon as you memorize all of those pages on that account
they change your account again.
Job bank used to have 3 or more pages of jobs.

you better check this board, all the pages...

I looked thru 2 pages and couldn't find anything.

I thought it was deleted as can happen here!

Go through the yellow pages of your local phone

book and call insurance companies that offer health insurance.  Call several.  I called 6 companies when I was looking and all the quotes were for the very same insurance, but varied as much as $200/mo.   Celtic was the best insurance.  For a family of 4, nonsmokers it was about $335/mo.   We don't have the insurance now as we have through DH job.  I can't remember if that included dental/vision/maternity coverage.   There is also a temporary insurance through Fortis, that depending on what state you live in is good for 1 year.  It is not renewable and you cannot get it if you have a pre-existing condition, or have been without coverage for a certain time period, can't remember but I think it is 15 days.   We could only get it for 6 months in our state and I paid the premium for the entire coverage and it was $403.00 total for the entire 6 months.  The deductible was $5,000.  This was basically catastrophic insurance, did not cover dental/vision/maternity.   We are all healthy and on no meds so for us it was the best option.    You can check e-insurance website and get some quotes to get an idea of coverage available, though it will not likely have everything that is available included, which is why I suggest calling local agencies.   There is a self-employed organization that offers insurance, but I found to be very expensive, about what you are paying now.

Check into medical savings accounts.  I don't know that much about them, but I believe you have to qualify for them.   You basically put $$ into an account much like an IRA and get tax breaks.

Don't know what they pay, but a poster a few pages back said Rad w/them was awful! nm
n
I personally don't advertise in the Yellow Pages because I was getting a lot of sm
calls from housewives who know how to type *real good*. Or people who wanted to do this because they saw in a magazine that you can make a lot of money in your free time!
They used to pay a low per-page rate & the subsequent partial pages
