Questions about Axolotl and TransTech

I am looking for a little info.  I'm considering applying to the above companies.  I have 2 questions, and I am hoping you guys can help me.

I need to provide health insurance for my entire family, which with some companies can be very costly.  Does anyone know approximately the cost of a family plan?  I could, of course, ask this question to a recruiter, but my experience in the past has been it is hard to get someone to answer questions until you have tested.  I don't want to waste a whole Sunday afternoon to be told family health insurance will cost me $900 a month.

Question #2 regards quality standards at these 2 companies.  Specifically, I am wanting to know if anyone who has worked under the stringent quality standards of Amphion (they aren't happy unless you are absolutely perfect, and I'm not Jesus) has also worked at either of these companies and can give me a comparison of their experience.

My experience the past 15 months at Amphion has been very stressful, and I want to make sure I don't jump from the fire to the frying pan.

Thanks for your help!

Axolotl questions

I am considering accepting a position with them and want to see who is happy there and who isn't and why.  I have a few questions.  I just want to make sure that I make the right decision because I want to stay put for good somewhere.

Do they make you work your full 8 if you get your minimum line requirements for the day?  I am a high producer and will be doing 1600 lines a day minimum and do not want to work more than 6-7 hours.  Most places are happy as long as you do good production.

Pay decent?

QA respectable?  How strict is QA and do they do reviews to check your QA score?  I have never worked that way.  I don't want that kind of pressure on me.  I just do my work and get a few reports sent back that had blanks for me to review and learned that way and eventually would have maybe 3-5 blanks a day once used to an account.

Thank you.......

Three more Axolotl questions...(sm)

Do they adhere to a strictly Tu-Sa or Su-Th schedule?  If your speciality is ER, do they have accounts that are only ER?  Do they have Radiology accounts?

TIA

Axolotl insurance questions
Can somebody tell me if you go to work for Axolotl, how soon the insurance kicks in?  Is it good insurance?  Also curious if anybody willing to tell ballpark pay scale for Rad.
A few questions on Axolotl if someone wouldn't mind...sm
Do they provide you with a computer?

What are their benefits (insurance/PTO) tied to? i.e., 40 hours a week, 12,000 lines a pay period, or both, etc. If things are slow and there is no work do you have to make it up in order to keep your insurance? If it remains slow and you can't get your lines in, do you lose your insurance?

Do they hire only acute care or multispecialty clinic, or do they have *specialty* accounts, i.e., ortho, op notes, cardio, psych, etc.

Do you get one primary and a backup(s), or several primaries in a grouping?

Thanks a lot for any info... I'd love to work for a good company again some day and Axolotl looks like a good place to start looking!
Axolotl posts, questions and answers.

First of all, Axolotl is hiring for a significant amount of work that will begin shortly.

When 90% of your workers want to work 1st shift, there seems to be issues with low work.  When workers are willing to work 2nd and 3rd shift, they seem to not run out of work as much, if at all.

The recruiter IS NOT THE SUPERVISOR.  Axolotl has a separate recruiter who does applicant screening, initial interviews and testing.  If everything goes good with this recruiter, then there will an interview with management, i.e. supervisor and/or manager.

ALSO, DOWNTIME IS NOT DETERMINED BY HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN THERE.

I am not a manager or supervisor or QA.  I am an MT.  I wish people would get all of their facts straight before coming onto a public board and spreading things that are just not true.

I absolutely LOVE this company.  They treat people with respect, provide great benefits and GREAT PAY.  One should feel lucky to have the opportunity to work for them.

Axolotl employees----have questions about line definition, etc. sm

How does Axolotl define a line?  Do they pay for spaces, headers, footers, & expansions?  Are you docked for blanks or sending things to QA?  If so, how much.

Thanks for the info.

Have a fabulous 4th!

May want to try Transtech or Axolotl
nm
You can truly do better, try Axolotl or TransTech
Amphion has 1 QA queen who will nitpick your work to no end, doesn't matter if the account is verbatim. You are graded according to what SHE believes it should be and to heck with verbatim rules. I'm not talking about subject-verb stuff, either. Plus, on some accounts you have tons of unpaid demographic information to fill in the old fashioned way. My most demeaning MT experience in 17 years as an MT was at Amphion.
Axolotl or TransTech?

Any comments on these 2 companies would be appreciated... pros and cons of each. I known everyone has their own opinions,  and I would like to hear yours.

Axolotl and TransTech
I am looking for information on Axolotl and Transtech in regards to their platform, pay, required hours and lines for part time and full time, etc.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Axolotl, TransTech, WEBMEDX
Good luck :)
TransTech Questions
Can anyone tell me how TransTech is?  Good company to work for?  Do they pay well for experienced MTs?  Do they supply the equipment?  Please tell....good, bad....curious.  Thanks!
TransTech questions
Have seen the archive reviews on this company but could use a few details. Minimum line count requirement? Sound quality? Program user friendly? Productive? Cost of benefits? Deductible and coverage?

TransTech Questions
Are they flexible at all with their scheduling and are 40 hours required for full time employment? Also, is their insurance fairly affordable for a single person? THANKS SO MUCH!
TransTech VR questions

I didn't find anything on their VR in the archives. Anybody care to share how their VR is? I have only heard positive things about the company, but nothing about their VR. TIA!!

A couple more TransTech questions
I'm looking to leave my current job and was thinking about applying to Transtech since there seems to be quite a lot of positive feedback on them.  Before I go through all of the testing/application process, I have a few questions.  Are there accounts actual typing or VR?  Also, what is the pay per cpl generally with experience?  Thanks a lot!
TransTech MTs, can you answer a few questions for me?

I was called by recruiter and offered position, since it is the weekend I do want to call with a few questions I have.

Are there ASR/voice recognition accounts?

If you have to work a holiday, do you have to work your usual full shift?

Do you get paid for expanders?

How hard is it to get time off? Even just a day at a time?

What is an average length of training?

Thanks for any info!!!!

Anyone willing to share Axolotl, Keystrokes, Transtech & Webmedex cpl range?
Looking... Thanks!
Questions about TransTech acute care openings.

TransTech has openings for 2nd shift. Is there usually consistent work available on that shift?  I think I read they do lots of VR; do you take a loss with it or can it be profitable?  How is communication with the supes there?  Feel free to E-mail me privately if you want with any further information.

Answers to some questions asked about TransTech out of Houston, TX

Different platforms -- Dictaphone ExText -- very clumbsy/clunky editing platform.  Probably 85% ESL now that so much VR/editing being done.

Big push for more editing, so what straight transcription that is kicked out from the voice machine is absolutely horrible on the ears!  THE TRUTH and nothing else but the truth !

Pay half for editing/VR work . . . yuk !

Different strokes for different MT's, but I work to earn a living, not for the fun of it ! Transcription used to be a FUN profession, but lacking now with all the jobs going to VR machine.

Actually I posted looking for answers to my questions above, not looking to answer questions, but

to here goes...firstly, I don't know about the platform, only that it is Word based. Secondly, I have many years cardio, and thirdly, no the test was not hard. Still looking for any answers to my questions above. Thanks in advance.

No. TransTech is out of Texas TTS is in New Hampshire. TransTech

Well I don't work for Transtech and this discussion isn't about Transtech...

When did you apply? Was it this year - just curious before I answer their advertisement.

Does anyone know anything about this company... How they pay???  Anything in general would be helpful... Thanks
Axolotl
I cannot believe that they are still in business. I know that they have an office in Tampa. Not sure how they are doing. Keep doing your research/investigation on this company.

Any info on this company, any feed back please.
Ex-Axolotl
When I worked for them a year ago, their typing platform was slooooooooooooow. I am a very fast typist, and I very seldom could reach my line count with them. I had to wait 3 minutes or more (depending on the length of the report)for a report to send to the hospital, and could not start a new report until that one was sent. Spent a lot of time playing Solitaire on my computer. If you are fast, you will be extremely frustrated.
Axolotl

Anyone ever hear of this company?  I am considering and any information appreciated

Thanks

Axolotl
Any info please?  It seems like recently with in the last month or so I read posts by an MT that just started with them and thought things were going great, as far as the system, staff, work, etc.  Anyone please any info?  Thank you.
Axolotl
Health insurance begins 30 days after you start working.
Axolotl
I have two friends that recently went with this company in the past month and they really like it. They have been offering OT every day so there is plenty of work

Any Axolotl employees out there??  Are you happy?

I am considering accepting an offer from them.  It seems they have a lot to offer.   I am currently with Medware and very, very unhappy with them lately.

Any advice appreciated.

axolotl
The management staff is very friendly.  Horrible accounts with the world's worst ESLs.  The percentage of ESLs was so high, I highly suspect cherry-picking.  Made less than minimum wage trying to decipher this garbage, with nearly 15 years of experience.  Editors who don't know the difference between affect and effect, yet deign to pick apart your work and leave snide comments.  Is that enough info?
I also would like to know about Axolotl, please.....sm
I had an interview and would like to know more about this company, before I make a decision. I see there really are no recent posts regarding this company.  Any recent information would be ever so helpful with my decision.  Is the platform slow, how are the incentives, benefits, communication between employees and management, etc.?  Thank you.
Axolotl
I've never worked for them, but have a friend that is starting with them this next week. When I get info from her, I will post it here on the board. I know they pay a referral bonus if you refer someone and then they are hired. That's always a plus. She did say that the pay was above average and more than she is making now which is .11 cpl on an onc account.
Axolotl
Nasty!!!!
Axolotl

The company is fully aware of what it means.  If you go to the website, you will see.

When I hired on, they actually sent me a salamander on a keyring!!  Their name is different because they, as a company, are different than any other!!

I have transcribed now for 14 years and trust me, I have never had a better employer.

Their benefits are awesome, their pay is more than competitive and I cannot think of one thing negative about them.

It's Axolotl - nm

MT25, I've also heard good things about this company.  Could you tell me what Lotus Notes are?  I am thinking about applying with them.  How would you rate the majority of accounts?  Hard to make lines with difficult dictators?  Do you transcribe for several docs or just a select few?  Thanks!

Axolotl

Axolotl expects quality and reliable MTs.  Due to the fact, they do not overstaff, it is IMPERATIVE, everyone be there for their scheduled shifts.  They provide OUTSTANDING and affordable benefits, as well as more than competitive pay.

If you meet the above standards as an MT, then you should apply.  If you don't meet these standards, then you need to find a company who doesn't expect you to produce quality documents and to show up for your shift.

I have been an MT for 13 years.  Axolotl is better than any company I have ever researched or any employer I have worked for.

If you are looking for former employees who did not meet the above standards, I am sure you can find them.

Does anybody have any information about this company.  I was checking out their website, and it didn't seem too bad.  Is there anybody working for them who can tell us a little about the company such as their line count requirement, is it comparable to MQ, and what they think of this company, etc.  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks in advance.
Axolotl

Does anyone know if Axolotl is hiring?  Everything I'm hearing about them sound really good.  My only concern is that someone posted they only have about 75 employees (kinda small), and if they hire more MTs, the workflow may be low...hmmm.

Axolotl MT

I wanted to thank you for all the information.  I am seriously considering applying.  So far, this one appeals the most to me.  I am still trying to decide if I want to make the move; this is something I take very seriously.  It has just been so difficult to make the money at MQ with all the changes; it almost seems intentional on their part to make it more difficult for the MTs so that they don't have to pay out these quarterly bonuses.  I could see having 3 or 4 accounts....that would be ideal, but 13 unfamiliar accounts with specifics to learn for each.....this, I find to be outrageous!!!  With all of this going on, they are driving their MTs (even the veteran MTs) right out the door!  BIG MISTAKE.

Axolotl?????
Does anyone know if Axolotl is strictly IC work?
