So, after all of the hoopla about JLG paychecks being late, sm

are current employees satisfied with the outcome/explanation/etc.?  More importantly, would you recommend that someone take a job with this company?  I always heard good things about them in the past, but that was a long time ago.

Late paychecks. sm
Company I work for always behind. Paydays supposed to be 1st and 15th, and pay from 2 weeks behind. Invoice on 1st is paid the 15th. They now say payday is 4th and 20th without saying anything ahead of time. With wait on first class mail, I average a paycheck about every 25 days. It is terrible.
Late paychecks

Small MTSO's sometimes use company funds to pay their personal bills as well, so if they have a lot of bills or something unexpected happens, there goes the payroll money!

RE: Breitner late paychecks

I have worked for BTS for 2 1/2 years now and NEVER has BTS been late with my check or deducted lines.  They pay for exactly what they said they would pay when I was hired.  You have to take into consideration the mail system.  BTS can't do anything about that.  Why didn't you opt for direct deposit?  It's a wonderful  and sure thing.  My money has ALWAYS been there on time every time.

YES, BTS is hiring and I strongly recommend them.  I have been there for 2 1/2 years and have NEVER run out of work.  If I'm low (which is very rare) I'm given another account to help with.  The account manager is very understanding and accommodating if you have sick kids, appointments or whatever.  I've worked for sevral MT companies and I have to say this is the best one that I've found.  Thank you BTS .  Oh I must add, I have recieved a Christmas gift every year too along with something for MT week.

Speaking of late paychecks....
What is generally the cause of late paychecks? MTSO says their big client has not paid, thus delaying payroll. But I have to wonder if there are more things going on than what they say. Thoughts? Experiences?
I've never had a problem with the paychecks being late at all. sm
What I do have an issue with is the tech person, who's very nasty, the nasty and threatening VP e-mails and the line counts are really fishy. Other than that, I don't have a problem. I just ignore the nasty e-mails and reject jobs because the tech guy won't fix my sound.
You are not alone. I had the SAME problem with them. My paychecks were always late and SHORT. sm

My first 2 paychecks were "without spaces" and I had a lengthy dispute with them that I won only because I had asked about them earlier on this board and was told by someone else to save all of my emails . I had saved the email in which they told me the line cout included spaces and when I provided it they cut a check for the "disputed amount", but it was also short (in their favor).    My last paycheck was also short and very very late (several months) .

There was also a lot of downtime.  You will get a lot of  "No work tonight" emails.

Breitner....late paychecks and short. sm
Pay day supposed to be 1st and 15th, checks always mailed 5 days later plus you have the mail wait. Have a 25 to 30% reduction on your overall lines every pay period to cover header/footers. I counted every report and headers/footers covered 5 to 8 lines a report (average 333 characters). They substantially dip into your actual production. Just a heads up because they are advertising again.
has anyone else get late paychecks from Meridian or is the negative just from one sour pus

I really would like to know before accepting a position with them.

I would like someone besides the poster from below to answer please.

Softscript! Horrible sound quality, awful dictators, bad management, and late paychecks...nm
nm
Because I was curious because of the hoopla! That's why.
I don't need the job. I have 2 jobs. Were you looking? This is a public board and I have a right to post an opinion if I so choose. I see ridiculous and things that I feel are not right, I will say something. Yes, I read the boards about once a week. Some issues I may be able to assist on. Some I may not. Others I will offer an opinion, but on most, I just pass on by and do what I have to do to have a full life. Have a nice evening.
Oh goody another TT recruiting hoopla!!
This is what I saw right around Xmas about these amex checks along with other positive yeays and hoorays for this company. Thought it all sounded too good to be true but I was optimistic Long story short, went to work for them based on this BS, it was too good to be true.
What the big hoopla about PMSI. Are they really great to work for or something. What do they offer?
Good pay, benefits, platform, what??? It just seems A LOT of people are interested so I figured they must have something wonderful going on for them.
I guess I see things differently, as I do not know what all of the hoopla is about not paying OT. sm

And Keystrokes is not the only company that doesn't pay OT.  Transtech doesn't pay for it either, although they encouraged it when I was there.  I was actually chastised once for putting down my real hours on my time sheet, telling me that I know better.  However, it didn't bother me then and doesn't bother me now as I am just grateful to be able to work as much as I want to get the line count that I want/need.  It is not slave labor -- no one forces me to work the extra hours.  I do so of my own free will.

I have had some health issues and other things, and my line count with Keystrokes has been awful, yet they have been patient and caring, and I am grateful to be working for them.   I realize I will probably get flamed, but that's okay.  My opinion is just as valid as anyone else's, and I decided to speak up in favor of a company that has been good to me.

Too little, too late? It is never too late. I am one person, true, but together

Let me tell what this ONE person achieved on her own and then you can imagine what many of us can do if we stand together.

Two years ago, I was working as an MT for a local hospital.  One day, we were told that our overflow was going to be outsourced to one of the nationals, just the discharge summaries and not even all of those.  Two months after they told us that lie, they called is in one by one and fired us because they were outsourcing the entire dept because it was cost effective.  The service they were using was a very large national who I happened to know had a reputation of offshoring.  And I just knew because our little hospital had easy as pie dictators with maybe 4 out of a staff of 200 that were ESL, our work would most definitely be one of the accounts offshored.

I was angry!  Oh, they offered us jobs at the service and told us we would definitely be working on our hospital, but I'm no fool and I knew it would be a matter of time before we were forced to take secondary accounts which would eventually become our primary accounts and our little hospital would just disappear from our queues.

I refused the job with the service on moral grounds.  I refused to work for a company that offshored.  And then I decided to channel my anger and outrage into something proactive.  I wrote letters to every newspaper in my area.  Every small farming community newspaper this hospital served, and the big city newspaper in the big city close by.  I never dreamed that anyone would pay attention at one woman's rantings.  But a funny thing happened.  My letter was printed in more than one of the papers I sent it to, and reporter from one of the larger newspapers called me and asked if I would do an interview.  I said absolutely.

Long story short, they did the interview and then interviewed the administrator of the hospital.  They put him in the hot seat and asked him about offshoring health information to India.  He had no definitive answers to give except that he would have to look at the contract and make sure that it was stipulated that his hospital's work was not sent over seas.

It was a small triumph, but I took some satisfaction in it.  Two weeks after that and just when I thought all the hoopla had died on my little letter, another letter appeared in the newspaper -- from an HIM director at another local hospital who said as a result of reading my letter and interview, that she had received a number of calls from concerned people asking if their medical information was being sent and transcribed overseas.  She wanted to write the letter just to set the record straight that her hospital employed their own MTs and did not outsource to a service nor did they offshore any of their work to third-world countries.

And I'm still not done.  Still a few weeks later another letter in the big city paper was printed from another HIM director assuring the community that her hospital employed its own American MTs and did not outsource or offshore.

Now, everything has quieted down since then, but I managed to ruffle some feathers and make a point, and if I (one person, one middle-aged work-at-home mother of two) can cause that much ruckus -- think what a whole bunch of us can do.

I think we, as a group, need to take control of our industry and our career destiny and do something.  Maybe march on Washington DC protesting the offshoring of American jobs -- not just ours, but ALL American jobs that are being offshored.  There are more Americans out of work and losing work to third-world countries and corporate greed than just MTs!  Our government needs to hear our voices!  We need to MAKE ourselves be heard!

Instead of sitting back and pasting little smiley faces in our posts and saying good luck with that we need to come together.  There is no room for MTs willing to accept lower wages, no room for MTs whose hearts bleed for our third-world counterparts, and no room for MTs who want to sit back and do nothing, but reap the benefits when the strong win the battle.  We've reached a critical turning point and it's time to take up the cause and change the future.

QT paychecks
Question for current QT employees who have their checks direct deposited but when are they due to go into the bank?  I have lost track of the DD dates after recently having moved and want to make sure that my check goes into the bank. I know check from the 15th went in approximately 7/21, but one of the office gals said hers was already posted and want to check before I call the office tomorrow  -- thanks
Did anyone ask if we would be getting our last paychecks at QT? sm
I totally forgot to ask if they would mail them out right away since we received little notice or if payday would be normal date or not at all?
Paychecks
Not like that anymore. If you want direct deposit, yes, they do charge, but it's reasonable. Better than waiting on a paper check. Pay is ALWAYS on time.
Re: JLG paychecks
Just a thought but what about having your check sent either Fed Ex or UPS? There was a company that I worked for and for a fee, they sent my check to my home. Since I had some problems with UPS delivering my check to me in a timely manner, we finally ended up having it sent directly to the bank and it was deposited like a direct deposit.
JLG paychecks
FutureNet also mails paychecks or sends them Fed Ex -- with JLG, I have it set up to be DD'd directly to my bank since my bank is out of state, with no local branches
paychecks
The payment is sent out on the 7th, so yes you would get it on the 8th. You just have to plan ahead. I know sometimes it gets aggravating, we all need our paychecks right now, but I would rather know it is the 7th and 22nd then to just guess, and at least we do always get our paychecks. I've read a lot on here about people not getting paid at all.

Cut them some slack, the company is growing quickly. It will take time for everything to fall into place. A previous poster said awhile back she would give them a 6-7 right now but is sure they will be a 9 to work for soon. I agree.

JLG paychecks
FN is another company that does not offer DD, at least they did not before or it was based on a certain period of time with a certain amount of lines done in that period of time. The excuse from FN was that too many MTs signed up for DD, then 2 months later, changed banks -- go figure
MTS paychecks....sm
A little slow and ALWAYS shorted. Oh but wait...he'll just catch you next paycheck.....Oh, my mistake, totally forgot....excuse after excuse after excuse.
JLG paychecks
Does JLG still mail checks late? I'm really interested in this company, but cannot afford to not know when I might get paid.
Bouncing paychecks....
Is there anything you can do when check issued by company bounce? I have only worked part time for this company about six months, but this is the second time one of their checks has bounced. I am only working here until I get a few accounts on my own independently so I that is why I have continued to work for them. I just cannot believe a company would be so money-tight as to issue bad checks for work that has been done. Anyone ever have this happen to them?????
Wish they would consider MT's paychecks before hiring all those MT's, tho

Huge accounts are not to be seen yet.  We long-timers are just out of work/low on work because of all this hiring craze.

TT, hurry up and bring on all those monstrous accounts, because it is going to take those to keep the the influx of MT's you have hired in order for us current MTs to have work and ability to pay their bills!

Should be LOTS of KS' MTs' paychecks...nm
.
Sorry, but I have the paychecks to prove otherwise
Every account is different, and I lucked out and got two great accounts. My main account is a super easy ER account with heavy templates, which we get paid for, and I easily do 400-500 lines per hour on that account. My secondary account is a basic 4 hospital account, which gives me really long reports, and I usually do about 300-350 lines per hour on that one. So, it is possible to make that much money there if you focus and work hard.
So our paychecks will be cut by the new company, right?
Did not go inhouse as anticipated.  Just a liaison, she is.  The previous company was so accurate and on time.  Hope this one is the same, if they are the ones cutting our paychecks for us.  M in the office is only a go-between, right?
Sten-Tel Paychecks
Has anyone working for Sten-tel had trouble getting their checks on time the last couple of times?  We are suppose to get paid on the 15th and they send them out on the 15th (which I think they should send them so you get them on the 15th, but that's another gripe).  I always use to get them 2-3 days after that. Last month I didn't get it for over 10 days and right now I still don't have this month's check yet.  Just curious what is going on all of a sudden.
Well, all I have to say is they sign the paychecks
and if you don't like it find something else, but you never know, this may happen in a new job too.
Whatever it takes to keep our paychecks low
They put us on ISR so we'll be faster, then confuse us with multiaccount specifics x2.  By the time we get it all straight, the account leaves.  Its just a sneaky ploy to keep our production low as we have to stop and refer to account specifics and fiddle with QA picking at us.  Heaven forbid they should put 1 person on 1 account done a single way with 1 set of rules - she might get fast enough to actually make money.  Lets put 20 people on 10 accounts with 20 sets of rules, then nobody will make squat, except maybe QA.
etranz in GA is still bouncing paychecks. sm

I just got an email from a friend/former co-worker of mine who also worked for etranz in Georgia.  She had over $1000 in checks bounce.  It took her almost 3 months to get them, finally did and now they have bounced!  Please, if any of you MTs know of anyone who is looking for work, please be sure to steer them away from etranz.  They make their ads sound great with weekend incentives and higher line rates, but getting your paycheck is nearly impossible....and when you do get it - it may bounce.

Please pass the word around about this unprofessional, unethical company!

LOTs KS' MTs paychecks prove otherwise (sm)

$$$$  Mine included.  Just do a search of the Forums and Archives.  No need to beg for work with Keystrokes!  If anyone has to beg to work with them to begin with it's probably because it is not the right fit.  Calling to follow up on job interest and begging are two different things.  If a company is in transition and very busy, then that's it, they're very busy. Just take it as that not as a luminous sign.

That's it for me!

NSF Paychecks Eight Crossing in Sacramento
Paychecks being returned for nonsufficient fund on multiple occasions to multiple MTs.  Beware.
Had trouble getting paychecks a while back.
Don't know how it is now.
PAYCHECKS SHOULD BE MAILED IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER . . .
SO WAS TO ARRIVE AS CLOSE TO THE DATE OF PAYDAY AS POSSIBLE. NO EXCEPTIONS. To be happy you got your paycheck 5 days AFTER payday? NOT ME.
Three consecutive paychecks over $500.00 makes
you eligible for DD enrollment was the last I heard about it.
glad you had no probs with paychecks sm
last summer (two months - 4 invoices) I got ... zip. Endless e-mails, leaving voice messages, etc., FINALLY got everything caught up only to be told they were late because she was out of town?! Again, you are lucky; my experience was otherwise.
Banking infromation and paychecks
Not to be nasty here but sceniaro being paper check in purse and going some place to cash it or to store before bank and someone steals it along with your identity -- I am with a small, stable bank, military based but as long as it is DD they have accounts open to anyone (barring bounced checks) with this particular bank, if I run out of $$ before the beginning of the next pay period, they will advance me up to half of my last DD.

Only had a couple of problems and that was a company who paid me weekly many years ago and tried to put my DD in a nonexistant savings account -- bank knew from deposit records and realized it was a goof -- bottom line don't panic unless its a rotten bank
No plot against paychecks - geez

The platform has to learn and some specs allow things like not listing the diagnoses if the system puts commas in between.  You may leave out hypens and things like that.  In the long run, it actually makes you more money so you don't have to stop and fix everything.  I've been doing VR for the last 4 years and it does become easier if everyone is on the same page and the system learns.  It's the MTs that won't bend and hate change that make it hard on everyone else.  VR doesn't always follow AAMT guidelines and some of the older MTs can't seem to wrap their heads around that.  Have to go with the flow!    This is not a plot to make us poor and everything is not a secret plan.  You guys crack me up!

IC Paychecks-check with Fed Labor Dept
Having been an IC for over 15 years and working for places where pay was sent when they felt like it (including 2 large hospitals in my area) I checked with the Federal Labor Department to see what my recource was.  Employers have 30 days from date of invoice to pay subcontractors/ICs, after that you have to send them a letter demanding payment.  You have no recourse as a self employed person.  I am happy where I am right now (as happy as I can be in this business) pay is always in my acct when it is supposed to be (except for Ike last week and we were kept apprised the whole time.)
Do you mean the one with the persistently happy employee who used to have to chase IC paychecks
from her previous company?  I am glad to find someone else who could appreciate that irony LOL!
Webmedx supplies computer. You pay a deposit out a few paychecks. Not much.
Don't remember exact amount. You're supposed to get it back when you quit. Good luck. You have to be full-time (40 hr/week).
8 hrs & 1100 lpd have to occur for FT benes. FT pay 8.5 cpl. People have had trouble with paychecks
/
Pros and cons with any company - it's a good fit for me, IC status, paychecks on time, most of th
time there is work, friendly staff.
Never late, not even once. (sm)
I have direct deposit and Precyse has never ever been late depositing my check, not even once. How long ago did your friend work there?
Yu are a bit late...
oh boy.. i have to chuckle at this, this woman's trying to drum up business for her husband..
Too late.

They were never late with my pay.
Their accounts were super easy, too. I just could not get enough lines there to make it worthwhile.
OK. So why were they late?
Was it an error on their part? Did it only happen once? Did you forget to fill out your timecard? Was it the first paycheck on direct deposit that always comes as a check instead? You can't just say a company pays late or doesn't pay PTO without explaining WHY.
Late Pay
I am another ExBreitner. You are absolutely correct in everything you said about Breitner.  Not only were they late but the amounts were incorrect.  For the happy employee of 2 1/2 years ---- I know for a fact that you don't even check your line count and compare it to your paycheck.  When I worked there, the only happy employees were the ones who didn't need to work for a living, so whatever pay they received they were happy ------- whether it was correct or not.  Glad I'm outta there!
