Too bad they got rid of Indian team leads. My US team lead is the worst.

They still have Indian team leads.

Nope, I was called by my former Indian team lead in the begining of this week asking if I could come back to work for them.

That being said, I had no problems with any of the team leads being Indian, was able to understand them and they were friendly.  My only problem was that before everybody left after being told they had to go employee, there was no work.  It could take all 3 shifts to get enough work for even part-time work on some days and we were told they would not pay down time if we didn't have work so a lot of my scheduled shift as an employee could be sitting refreshing queue without being paid for that time.

I know that right now, there is pleanty of work but they are more than likely going to overhire.  They don't like work in queue at all.  If there are any reports sitting in queue on the weekend they want you working and threaten to hire more people, thereby taking work away from you.  I was shocked when I changed companies and found how much work stays in queue for my current account, very rarely running out and when I do I have a secondary and a tertiary acct.  Up until now I was always told by Focus that they couldn't do that so when I was out, I was out.  And, my QA is always excellent so it is not my quality that keeps the work from me.

It is correct information, someone accidentally sent out an email from their Indian Team lead.

OSI team leads don't do QA at all
All we do is monitor workflow and assign jobs when the coordinator is off - I get $14 for a few hours a week and then do transcription for a line rate. Line requirement is less than regular MT's.

Not a bad setup for us.
Correct...my team still has leads. sm
The truth is, most of the team leads were eliminated because they WEREN'T an asset to the teams. Many of them got the job because they were the only ones who applied. Many were not confident in site formats and rules, giving incorrect information on team mail, and many of them spent entirely too much time chatting with each other about their personal lives on team mail instead of editing. They were the cause of their own demise.
Now 1 AC and 2 team leads are leaving OSI
Not only the MT's but also 1 AC and 2 team leads are leaving OSI.  If you haven't applied elsewhere time is running out before the good jobs are gone.  The only person who will be left when it is all said and done will be the QA manager who will never go anywhere else not only because she is attached at the hip with the great policy makers but also because she couldn't get a job elsewhere if she tried.  After all you have to actually pass the transcription test.
Any Cardioscribe team leads here?
If so, please email me or post here. Just wanting to know if the hourly rate is fair and would like to hear what you think about your job.
Yea and what's the deal with getting rid of the team leads?
nm
All of your team leads are India
nm
Team leads not in India

When I worked at Focus my team leads and technical support were in India, but they have just recently changed this.  Your team leads are now Americans.

I'm sure the team leads and mgmt SM

are keeping track of line counts, right?  Then they should be quite aware of who isn't getting their count in and contacting those people to find out what the problem is.

But the newbies can handle being team leads?
Give me a &%$) break!!!
I was told last January all team leads would be

in the U.S. by summer along with the QA team.  Come May, I was canned along with a bunch of other QA and management people.  Strange dontcha think?  Now they are singing the same tune to a different audience.  See ya at the unemployment office...

As a former OSi team lead.....
I will say that the main reason I left the company is because I knew it was not right to ask people to work extra when they could not report it on their time sheets.  And, yes, an account coordinator, has definitely recently asked people to work extra but not report it.  This has been going on a long time.  Time should be recorded as time actually working not what you put on a time sheet.  That is ridiculous.  The majority of my MT's did work extra but did they get paid overtime?  No!  This is SO not right!!!   ');>
she did it while a team lead too

What exactly is a Team Lead?

team lead
You have it all figured out. How can I even respond to such brilliance. Until you understand what my job entails and how much I'm paid, might be smarter just to stay quiet. You know about 1% of what I do for Cardioscribes.
Team Lead Help
So, if you don't mind me asking, to make sure I go the proper route, when you say team lead, are you referring to our STM? I have not been with the company very long and I am not familiar with the position of a team lead. I plan to take your advice. Please email me if you would rather communicate that way. Thank you.
Response to team lead

You say that you contact everyone who is assigned to you - maybe the short circuiting is happening in HR. Someone is offered a job and then the HR person doesn't forward appropriat paperwork or email to the necessary people.

That's bull...sorry..but I'm team lead and
spread it elsewhere
Your team lead/boss

In general, do your bosses respond to your e-mails with questions about your accounts, etc? My boss does not answer any e-mails. All of my e-mails have been our accounts and not just B.S.

I'm an OSi team lead but can't leave
but I can leave OSi and have received 2 job offers that I'm mulling over right now. I have to make a decision by tomorrow before the jobs are snapped up by someone else. They are running out of spots for new hires.
Have you asked your team lead or ROM? sm

When I started I did a few reports, they were checked and then I was opened up to the pool within the first day.

Um..as a team lead you are paid
hourly so of course the low amount of dictation available does not impact your bottom line.
Team Lead Help with Cherrypicking
If you are a team lead for the Web, can you tell us who else can we tell if our STM doesn't seem to want to do anything about it when you have complained? What other option do we have?
$14 hr for pt team lead rest production
and yes all we do is assign jobs when coordinator is off, easy money though

You're so silly. Your a team lead

and a front for an Indian business.  You should be ashamed of yourself.  Answer this -- their website gives a US address.  You know where the work is coming from and managed - I don't have a problem with the Indian MTs and work -- it's the false advertisement.  So, you're saying you actually condone and have no problem representing a piece of the sham?

Also, as a TL for this company, you are not portraying yourself in a leadership position -- you should be portraying yourself as an example and mentor.  If the Indian angle doesn't put a sour note on this company, your posts and representation of them does.  Good luck in your lovely position.

Hey KS Team Lead - I really think you should stop responding. You are making yourself
and your company look ridiculous and unprofessional to the extreme! If this is indicative of how KS does business, it's no wonder they are flat.
Keystrokes lead MTs and management team are great. I am sure I
will be flamed but I really like my lead and have never had anything but positive experiences with anyone in Keystrokes.

The nay-sayers will start their bashing now I am sure.
I'd ask your team lead. She would know but I will tell you that we're already out of work toda
guess everyone wanted the bonus. I find it sad that we'll get back logged because no one wants to work a regular schedule, yet come a holiday bonus, and everyone is obviously working. It's too bad we couldnt have that bonus rate as a standard. You'd see a lot more motivated people in this business. Most of us are burned out on pounding the keyboard all day and gain so little. I guess so much for a holiday bonus when there is no work. Kind of defeats the purpose..Oh well...I'm vented for today.
company is bad but the Tennessee management team is the worst. Run! -nm

No problem, I just thought maybe you were one of our Indian team members.

opppss meant purple team, not red team.
Sorry, I meant the purple team.
Do they have a US team? Or
should I start looking?? They have never mentioned anything about dropping the US team, but I would bet they would do it in a heartbeat - I guess that's why they are known as heartless.
There is still a QA team.
The team leaders to the document completion.
BEST team

KS used to have people that just did that without a name.  There was a gal who did our hospital and we could not have her permanently.  What we settled for was not even close to what we wanted.  The whole idea is very midleading.

ER Team
Yes, they asked me for either a Sun-Thur or Tue-Sat for daytime hours.  Afternoon and late evenings could be Mon-Fri.
Same team
I worked for OSi for the CURRENT QA manager and most of the current team were there the entire time, except for new people who were hired as the company expanded.  Most everyone was excellent to work with - a great team atmosphere.  Working as an OSi QA is not easy, and I liken it to teaching - you do way more than you are expected to do because you LIKE to, and you get paid way less than you are worth, because you like doing what you do.  But I think that's true of any job you do that you love.
What Team Were You On
What team where you one there? I currently work for them and have had none of the trouble that you had. I am sure it all would vary from team to team.
A-Team
What about blanks? Do they count against you? What about ESLs? Are they difficult? Thanks for your info!
Red team

If you are on the red team, you have a fantastic supervisor provided she is still there.  I absolutely loved her!!! She will definitely go out of her way to make your experience as pleasant as possible.  She did for me, and she was the main reason I ended up staying.  Unpleasant note:  This is the team I had the unpleasant QA person.  Good luck again!

By the way, I bet we are on the same team.
I will be using ExText too and I love that platform! Take care and I meant to say congratulations to you too!
Team Leaders
And all the GOOD team leaders who really communicated well and cared about the rest of us left! HMMM wonder why?
Team Leaders
I have to agree completely. The only really good team leader that MDI had was Shannon. She was always available, was always there to help, and actually cared about each individual person there. If you had a problem, she was there to take care of it or she would find someone who could. I guess she finally got fed up with MDI too because she left, which is a shame because she was the only one there that actually had a heart! We miss you Shannon!!
She said they were doing away with all ICs - I have no facts for you. You should ask your team

MDI-FL-team leaders?
Trying 2 learn about these team leaders. Anybody know anything?
MDI-FL-TEAM LEADERS
I work for MDI and I love my team leader. I have actually more than one team leader, if I switch to my secondary account. They are both very helpful in providing me with anything I need, and I also notice they are available to me at any time for help. Don't know about redheads, blondes or brunettes, as I have not meant them, but I can ask what color their hair is, although not sure how that would help anything. Anyway, I think they are the geatest - a lot more help than I have ever gotten anywhere! I'm thrilled!
MDI team leaders
Marianne, I agree with you. I have never been happier at any company I have worked for, as far as the help I receive and the flexibility in my scheduling.

Another happy MDI-ER!!!
MDI team leaders
I just want to tell anyone who will listen, this is the most structured environment I have worked in for a while. I too did not know what to expect, having worked at other places. This team leader thing sure was a great idea. You have one person to deal with who is always available to you for anything you need. You don't have to worry about who to go to, and if you do, your team leader guides you in the right direction. I am so glad I made the move to MDI - finally a company who cares!!
And I am joining the KS Team on
Halloween!!! Yippee. Goodbye MQ, I'm coming back to KS, where I should have never left. They are the best and in no time they will be better still. I can't wait!
Sorry, should have been team player. nm
