Too unbelievable for words

Let me see, to be able to make 25.00 per hour you would have to type about 3100 lines per hour using 8 cpl.  How is that humanly possible?????????????????

Unbelievable!
WOW, that does not surprise me though.  She lied to me several times, and caught her in it and still acted like I was wrong.  How can a company like this continue to be in business.  I am going to continue my descent on her, no one ever should have to go through something like this and especially what happened to you, that is even worse.  I have written some of the schools that represent her explaining to them what is going on; I hope they do not recommend her.  I am awaiting replies and I will let you know.  She is messing with the wrong person by not paying me.
Unbelievable

This is just pathetic.  I don't care what he says.  It's all about the almighty dollar.  They pay crap over there and they receive crap in return.  Has anyone seen the kind of work these Indians do who can barely speak English?  Sad sad sad.

LOL...unbelievable...LOL
.
Unbelievable

I can’t even believe that you said all that…you did say one thing in your little rant that was true…you outsource work because “it’s less expensive” which honestly is what it all boils down to!  We all are looking at that dollar so don't act like the employers are the only ones...the companies are looking for ways to line their pockets and obviously outsourcing work makes that happen.  Go ahead and outsource to other countries because one day, someone will come up with a way to do away with your cushy position and outsource it, and the script will be flipped back on you!  I am a hard working Medical Transcriptionist and I resent every word that you said.

It's not unbelievable at all
I average 275 lines per hour on a high ESL large teaching hospital account at 9.5 per line for an average pay rate of $26 bucks an hour. Many, many MTs I know make this and more.
Unbelievable
Yeah, wouldn't you think that these highly paid administrators would sit down and talk to people who have been doing this work for years? Instead they call up these companies who promise ANYTHING to get them to sign on and for the first couple of months use really good transcriptionists and then the quality just goes down hill. These cheap transcription companies mostly don't care because they are making lots of money and just move on to the next sucker. But nobody notices for a while and then a really bad mistake is made and the doctors go into orbit. Think of how much time and money they end up wasting.
Unbelievable

I can't believe what a psycho this guy is.  How unprofessional and ignorant on his part.  How many executives take the time to 1) read this board, and 2) continue to taunt and argue a point when they are so easy to prove wrong?  I did send him a private reply via email earlier today, so it's not like he didn't already hear my reply to his original email.  This is all pretty scary if you ask me.  I'm through arguing this point.  Another MT has posted that she had a similar experience and if you're reading this, you can see the caliber of management at SoftScript, so there should be enough here for anyone applying to form their own opinions about working for this company.

Unbelievable
Oh my gosh, you are literally bonkers if you THINK Transtech has recruiters. TransTech has a good enough reputation that they don't HAVE to go out and recruit. They merely post an ad on here from time to time when new accounts are added or if an account needs more coverage. Some of you people floor me with the stuff you come up with. TransTech always has enough work if one doesn't mind learning a new account specifics. That's the problem though. A lot of people would rather stick with one account and not learn anything new. They get in a comfort zone and make more lines posting negative remarks on a message board than they do actually working. There is no company where everyone is going to be happy and if you aren't happy there you have your reasons. I have been with them for 3 years and I have never been happier. I have plenty of work, nobody bothers me, I always get over my line count, the paychecks are ALWAYS on time and correct, not to mention they NEVER bounce and you can call the office and speak with Tracy (one of the owners) and anyone else in the upper management or middle management about anything. As a matter of fact, if anyone who has questions about the integrity of TransTech wants to THEY can call and these people will talk to them, too. They have never tried to hide anything and have always been the most honest people I have ever worked for. I love this company and I will take up for them in a heartbeat. All I can say about the ones that post negative things about TransTech is that if you have had negative dealings with them it is because you were not producing the amount of work you obligated to when you signed on, you're work ethics didn't match what you presented yourself to have and/or you're one of these MTs who are hired by other companies to slam them. So, suffice it to say, be careful who you brown nose, it always comes back to bite you back...always. I bid you adieu!
Unbelievable that they are doing this.

Unbelievable!
YOU come on here and call her an idiot for her post and when she defends herself, you accuse her of being fired up well, DUH!!! No kidding!!

She is trying to help her fellow MTs with some useful information and you are a little small-minded troll trying to spar with her over trivialities.

Just go away unless you can make an intelligent (and not RUDE) contribution. Thanks.
Unbelievable, 55 too old! I will be sm
54 next month and far as I am concerned just getting started good! People think they want that system but they really are ignorant as to the system. You won't live any longer with the canadian system than you would if you had no insurance! We have flaws, many of them, but still the greatest country in the world!
Unbelievable .... sm
Finally a job comes out that pays decent, .10 cpl BUT you have to live locally in California.  Not going to do me much good over here in Georgia, lol.
Unbelievable!!!

I spent a few minutes today reading the posts about DIT and their professed Christian company, treating their MTs as family, and then not paying.

And, lo and behold, right there on the Job Seeker's board is yet another ad from them.

The unmitigated GALL of them to advertise for MTs, especially on the very same day that people are posting about not being paid by them.

Do such dishonest people NEVER get their just desserts???

Unbelievable.
You are evil beyond words. Go away before someone drops a house on you, too.
Unbelievable!!! Maybe if OSi had better training
and decent account specifics, MTs wouldn't have to bother you management idiots all the time. This was a good post from you though....exactly what everyone hears at OSi. There is actually no help at any point at that company.

ANOTHER unbelievable ad - with the link!

sickening and unbelievable...
Hope you find a better job soon!
Yes, it is unbelievable. I think that if an employee

is hired by an MTSO, then there should be a policy or law or something that an employee gets paid whether there is work or not.  This is the only industry I know of that most employees do not get paid if there is no work, at least a minimum ($10/hr ?).  If there is no work at your doctors office, the receptionist still gets paid, if there are no customers at a bank, the teller stills get paid.  Why is MT the exception?

If an MTSO knows an account has inconsistent work or is overhired, then hire an as-needed IC, or oncall employee, not a full or part time MT.  Then the MTSO wonders why it cannot keep qualified staff.  Try this - pay me downtime and I'll stick around.  And, include downtime in your budget/pricing for clients.  MTSOs must learn how to staff properly as a medical center staffs RNs - you have your FTs, PTs, weekends, on-calls, paid on-call, etc.  This is not rocket science!!

It is SO unbelievable...this job requires
us to constantly keep up with the new procedures, meds, surgical instruments, etc., it is a constant learning curve...and it just kills me that these companies offer less and less money every year...been doing this for 20 years now and it has really gone down-hill! Someone needs to understand what it takes to become a skilled acute care transcriptionist! Maybe the Feds can help us out...they're doling out billions to wealthy investors these days...
Unbelievable! The Indians
can't even MT very well, much less do QA!!! What's this business coming to...
Man, this is unbelievable. What is Medware saying about where the money is? nm
nm
unbelievable. Work for a week sm
without getting paid? What a nice way to clean up their back log for free!

Back a few years ago this profession started being advertised by the schools and in the rag magazines as a work at home job to make tons of money. That is when this profession started down the tubes.

Because it sounds like an easy work at home job, everybody is coming out of the woodwork. Folks who can't spell the word HOSPITAL practically are trying to open MT companies to make big money.

It is very very sad!
This is unbelievable- Anyone experience this from a company
I am an IC with this company working 4 hours in the evenings.  True enough, I had to agree to set hours; however within those 4 hours I transcribe a full-time line amount 1000 to 1100 lines.  Yesterday,I sent co-owner of the company (supervisor) note saying I needed to stop at 2 p.m instead of 3 p.m. because I needed to see a doctor for my knee and that if I didn't make that appointment I would have to suffer through the weekend with a painful knee.  Since this was a spur of the moment appointment and they worked me in, I did not want to miss it.  I also informed her that when I returned, I would make up the 1 hour.  Well she sent me a message back saying you have stay on line until 3 o'clock, take an ibuprofen and you'll be fine.  This dialogue between the 2 of us went on for I know about 10 minutes or more.  Then she told me, you still have time to go to a doctor after 3 p.m.  You have to stick to your schedule.  Now, I had already done 1500 lines at that point, because on Fridays I work 7 to 3 p.m. She went on to say, you agreed to a schedule and you must stick to it.  I asked her what about when people have emergencies or things come up you cannot control.  She did not want to hear it.  I have an in-hospital MT job (for 3 months now) and she said she didn't think my employer would allow me to take off like that.  I informed her that my employer would be more than willing to allow me to take off for a medical problem, because they know my health is more important than the job, because if I am not well, I cannot work anyways.  Now there are times she ask me to work as much as you can, any day you can, all day if you can.  So at those times, I guess  it doesn't matter that I don't stick to my schedule. I reminded her that I was a contractor and not one of her employees.  My full-time job at the hospital is ran though the County, and there has been mismanagement of the money and they have reduced our hours to 32 a week, which is why I took on the IC position.   If I didn't really need this part-time job, you know what I would have told her to do with it. Plus the pay is 10 cpl and it is real easy to get your lines. Oh well, just needed to vent to my fellow MTs.
The lying is unbelievable. If you work there, you darn well

Infrahealth in Austin, Texas.......Unbelievable. sm
So, there was ad for a QA/CSR on our local Craigslist that was offering 9.00 an hour for the position.  I emailed them asking if perhaps this was a typo or a misprint.  I received the following reply....
This is the amount that is offered for the position.  I am not sure how familiar you are with Medical Transcription QA.  But the level of responsibility is hardly that which would be expected an Editor of any printed literature or periodical.

Thanks,

Unbelievable! So you have an easy account and make a

decent living, yet you come on this board and trash TT all the time! That really is two-faced. You don't deserve to work for TT!

Unbelievable! I work for Transtech and got PAID maternity leave! Some of these
companies need to take a lesson from them.
In other words
at least on my reports it is counting each character and space correctly, yet line counts remain much lower on DQS.  Numerous others have posted the same thing here.
WORDS R' US

Hello-- I do know for a fact that the company is legit, as I live in the same city as the company. Dont know much about pay, although I do remember that they pay by the dictated minute. Hope this helps!

WORDS R' US

That would be Belleville, IL.

a few words
I don't know how much you know about the internet but posting in all caps is the equivalent of screaming and you seem to be screaming alot in your post below..

Just briefly, you seem to be posting as an MT, citing your experience with platforms, difficult QA programs, transcribing off the clock - yet you write about concerns that are definitely those of management, getting staff to show up for work, work flow, if you can't work that shift don't apply, we created offshoring so all of you MTs out there… Most MTs I know are concerned with work pools, fair treatment, honesty, timeliness of payroll, quality of dictators, line rate, etc. I have enough respect for the MTs and management that read this board to be able to intuit whether you are an MT or not or exactly what the motives of your post were; maybe to score points, I don't know, but whatever your motive, your post does not address my post at all..

In a very few words without any caps I told the MT asking the question about my experience. My post was truthful and I went out of my way to tell her that my experience didn't mean it would be the same for her and even indicated such things are hard to determine. I don't know if she was an Editor or MT I posted to warn someone who asked for guidance about my experience simply because I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I and others have. And I would want someone to give me the same heads ups if I had asked for guidance on a board about a certain company. It was measured, thoughtful, and brief and not an embellishment or downright lie to make a company look bad. I think you took care of that pretty well with your post.

I am not going to get into any debate with you or follow up any response you might make as you seem to have a lot of anger you are carrying around and maybe even an anger management problem but mostly because you seem to deal in absolutes that most reasonable people do not. Because you don't know of a situation does not mean it doesn't exist, because you have not had a similar experience does not make it an embellishment or lie, but mostly your generalizations and judgmentalness are breathtaking. MTs brought offshoring on themselves, download work and then go shopping, do laundry and dishes all day - that's a lot of laundry and a lot of dishes! - most do not take their jobs seriously, no work ethic, go back to the doctor's office and on and on… I just know that my experience has been MTs, editors and management in the transcription field pretty much run the same as most other professions, a lot of them are serious thoughtful professionals, a lot of them aren't, and painting them all with the same broad stroke because you happen to disagree with them or with what someone posts on a board doesn't give a lot of credibility to you or what you are saying.

As I waded through your derisiveness and sarcasm and anger I just felt bad for you and maybe you ought to think about the fact MT might not be for you…and if you are a member of Alltype management, oh wow…

Well, then THREE WORDS:
She did the work. The employer didn't pay. Bottom line: Employer owes her the money.
I just used above the same words like you did here
Working for MQ seems intolerable to me from just what I read from their postings here. My work, for the most part, is smooth, nothing like only allowed 3 blanks (I would be in a tizzy then because of our ESLs) and so on. I cannot believe people actually want to stay there. What is the big draw?
don't stick by their words
There is way too much of that in this industry.
Thank you. I think those are just made up words.
unfortunately
There is a Google box right under the words
type in what you want to search and then click the circle beside 'mtstars' located right below the Google box, then search. This will bring up archives on your topic, if there are any.
You have to be kidding. Per your own words, DR

is not the best. Any poor MTs coming from MQ have been beaten to death by now - they don't need another company that is not THE BEST. Let's see - what was I being tactful and leaving out? It takes 4-ever and a day to actually start - criminal background checks - yeah, I know, no big deal, but still creepy - physical exams, and plenty of other hoops - probably a month to get started. Computers were garbage and platform was down often, though none in my account received 1 cent of downtime pay. Platform antiquated and also allowed for prime cherry picking. As a newby, I used to watch the good work get sucked right out of my pool from my coworkers. Backstabbing galore, office politics, no supervision whatsoever. Pay was on the low side, but was told it was due to how great hospital accounts were - not really. MTs expected to adhere to a strict schedule - quality of work was poor as we got hospital leftovers from inhouse staff. DR also has had run-ins with the labor board and were found guilty of whatever it was they were caught doing. So, yes, let these comments scare you - check the company board archives - always lots of negative about DR. In fact, this is the first time I have ever read positives, so I honestly suspect its their recruiter trying to snag some newbies. DR was even posted about just last week - go thru pages and search for them. Good luck to you! Definitely not a good replacement for MQ. If you're close to the breakdown point, as I was when I left MQ, DR is likely to push you right over the edge.

Thank you so much for the kind words!
:-)
I want to thank you all for your kind words SM

and suggestions.  It means a lot to me.  I'm a pretty optimistic person, so I believe something better will come along...but it feels good to share my frustrations with those of you who have been there, done that, and got the T-shirt!

I better go to work!  Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

Just Me

Your words are obviously heartfelt,
but it might be time to consider another career if you feel so dehumanized that you consider yourself a machine. Best wishes.
Perfect words! sm
I guess I needed someone else to validate for me that it might be okay. Although you'd think my hubby and three children would be enough to do it for me:)  I too am having a very hard time with the testing for other large companies; that is why I was surprised and even a little leary that I passed this one, almost too easily.  And yes, the experience on the resume would be big!  My next project for tomorrow tho (while waiting to get info that I probably won't receive for one reason or another) is to test for Amphion...been interested for awhile so what the heck. Thanks again for making me feel okay!
Thanks all for the words of wisdom. Nm
