And that would be an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. LOL.
Typical transcriptionst. :)
That's not just unprofessional.... sm
it's illegal !  I would forward those emails with a letter of explanation to the Department of Labor.  You'll see how fast SS changes their tune.  And by the way, if they know who you are by your posts, then the companies and the administrators of this forum are obviously on the same back-stabbing team.  Bet this gets deleted before you can say "shove it" !!
very unprofessional

If your oversea MTs are that great, why bother with us Americans?  If I worked for your company, I would quit yesterday.

Unprofessional
This is very unprofessional. Imagine If we all knew what hospital you were referring to? This is confidential information and should be kept such, not even funny.
UNPROFESSIONAL
Perhaps the term suck is unprofessional.  However, since you are not with FN, perhaps never have been and never will be,  I reiterate that I personally never confirmed anything about work or no work. What I said had you read it closely is that as per many companies throughout the US, there are periods of a lull.  I never said there was no work and you are quoting out of context.  If you seem to have a problem with FN why don't you just go to the source instead of using a public forum to confirm unwarranted comments from others about something they no nothing about.
unprofessional
It's just totally unprofessional for either MT or management...and totally uncalled it.
I think it would be really unprofessional
I think it would be really unprofessional and immature on the part of the company who is sending it around...if they do exist. I also wouldn't want to work for a company who participated in that drama either, either blacklisting people or not hiring people because of it. There are always two sides to each story. It's not fair to not hear the other side or to not give that MT a shot because of what a disgruntled employer has to say.

If I were doing the hiring, I would start questioning the credibility of that company and actually probably see why the MT left/quit/got fired in the first place. It is up to the MT to prove him/herself and if it doesn't work out, well then fire him/her.

I have no doubt that it goes on, especially with smaller/medium MTSOs who are friends. That's just my opinion, though. I know some companies I had worked for had no issue complaining to me about their own transcriptionists incessantly, personal and private matters included, so I have no doubt they ran their mouth to other people in the industry about them. Made me paranoid/wonder what they said about me.
Unprofessional and Same As Before
Recruiter was unprofessional (um, um, um, let me check, um, um...).  Told the recruiter that I worked for them 5 years ago and had a horrible experience, rude QA, rude team leaders, inaccurate QA (grade wrong and when pointed out the account specifics, they get very rude), 99% ESL doctors on all accounts.  He said they were still the same with the 95% to 99% ESL dictators and didn't know about the rest of the staff problems.  Pay was on time, but never received anything worth cashing at the bank due to lousy dictators.  If you ask for another account with more American-speaking doctors, they said that all the accounts had the same type of doctors, and they did.  I got put on 4 different accounts and had plenty of work but unable to translate the dictation.  I personally think that they only get the accounts that other transcription services REFUSE to do.  There are a lot of companies out there that have better dictators and more professional/knowledgeable recruitors and more knowledgeable, friendlier and team-oriented QA and team leaders, so please don't waste your time with the same nightmare as 5 years ago.
Unprofessional people
This company is very, very unprofessional.  They expect a new hire to know what each doctors wants within a 24 hour period of time.  They EXPECT that.  They are also very rude in conversations.  Just beware.
very unprofessional and rude (sm)
and I was able to find much better work for myself, at Proscript.
I don't think I've seen anyone more unprofessional here

than this person.  I pity anyone that works for her.

Unprofessional and ridiculous! sm
Unless it is done in conjunction with a real test.
Extremely unprofessional nm
Are you a member of management?
It was just as unprofessional of the poster--sm
above to have asked who had been contacted by this company. The person who requested resumes to be sent has been harassed for the past three days trying to find out a name of the company. I guess she has had enough and I don't blame her. They probably weren't real names anyway. Sheesh!
If you are an MTSO, you are really unprofessional
JMO.
That is extremely unprofessional...sm
It's also very direspectful to one of us. We are all a family of MTs here, so I take this personally!! I think you should post this up top as a separate post so everybody can see it better. They need to know about this company's baby fits if they don't get their way. They wouldn't be making any money if it wasn't for us!!!
Oh brother, how unprofessional are they?
Ask to speak to the QA supervisor and collect all the e-mails you are getting with conflicting ways to nit-pick.  Show her the e-mails and tell her you are confused.  You would be happy to do what they want, but you are being pulled in different directions.  If she is not accommodating, look for another job.  Who needs that grief?
I find this all very unprofessional.

start a yahoo group?  That would be better than how you are reflecting yourself here.  You are showing you're true colors.  It is quite obvious you are frequenting this board.

Your pay rate is very low.  Your demands are high, and you are not showing anything here but how unprofessional and NOT BUSY you are!

Please save it!  You have obviously burned some MTs, and they are not getting past it!  So, why do you continue to post?  You are like stirring the pot!  Your original post was enough.  Really it was....

P/S:  No, I am not an ex-disgruntled IC (really should be employee) with the demands you have on there.

Then, you have the nerve to respond to someone asking about line rates that you charge anywhere from 9 on up, yet your starting rate is 8 for 2nd shift, but you claim you cannot afford to pay more.  Shady!

Rolling eyes is quite unprofessional, IMO. sm
Get over it disgruntled.  My goodness, did they expect you to do horrible things like to  work 8 hours a day and meet minimums?  Shame on them for expecting such of a Primadonna.
Precisely. We have had some very unprofessional people sm
and some who turn their editing back in unedited. I will not say the name of the company because I am not a recruiter, just someone who thought I'd help get resumes for the positions. At last count, apparently some people cannot read and we keep getting resumes, the resume count is 179.

Its not Shapin. It is a small midwestern company located in middle America, Illinois.

You can nag all you want, but I have no say in hiring, nor do I have any say in firing.

If you want, I'll list the names of all the people who applied and then you can see who you can contact to see if you know any of them?
I read it. Very unprofessional and childish
but he/she can be that way because he/she did not name the company, which again is very unprofessional and shows that someone has something to hide.
You just took the prize for being unprofessional my dear.

A professional would never take such a minor issue and blurb it on a chat page.  A professional would have approached the maker of the typo or would have just looked past it.  Pretty sad when you have to stroke your own ego over a typo.

Using people's names is really against the rules and you should not do so. It is unprofessional.
do you? Why do you think it is right to name a person and then slam their name. If you think this is right, then tell me why? It is not right and it should not be allowed.
Lee has been told before..it is VERY unprofessional and raises big red flags sm
when the owner or the KS Lead MT posts rebuttles and tries to defend her company.  You and she know full well things were not well with that company for a long time.  Sounds like things are turning around but posts like yours only demean..methinks thou doth protest too much    Let your reputation be built on happy employees, the sour grapes might be unhappy employees, former employees, people gossiping about what was heard, etc.  Do you see ANY other MT company coming here and defending itself?  No..I don't either.  Think about it.  Keystrokes reputation preceeds itself..it will take time for that reputation to be restored.
lousy mgmt/response, unprofessional.
x
Shapin...unprofessional, disorganized, let go without any warnings at all.
I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!
You may never - seems this is common from this company - how unprofessional & rude

I'm thinking..unprofessional. First impressions are everything and my impression is....
I wouldn't want to work for someone like that.  There would probably never be any way to ever please her.  I mean how many of us at one point in our careers thought we were doing a great job only to have a supervisor or someone else tell us our work stinks..It's obviously subjective versus objective opinion. I just think her ad had a very unprofessional and rude tone to it and I am guessing that she has been burned or thinks she has.  I just don't think you'd want to portray your attitude upon potential new hires. I will say...the ad did make me laugh, but there is a time and place for jokes and posting as a job ad isn't where you'd want to make people either offended or laugh at you.
The owner is an unprofessional mental case.

I worked for them years ago.  Supposed to be PT to supplement my FT job.  Got way too much work (I know with low work flow these days, I shouldn't complain).  I sent a very professional and very friendly email stating that I considered PT to be less than 1000 lines a day and that she was sending me too much work.  She went crazy waying I was flaming her via email and then called my home phone and left a nasty message calling me a liar and that I should never expect to work for them EVER again.

I knew someone else who worked for Accupro as well.  She gave two weeks notice when she resigned and said she would ship the equipment back to the owner after her two weeks.  She lived locally to where Accupro's owner lived and the next day the owner showed up at her home, banging on the door demanding her equipment, and told my friend what a fool she was to have quit.

Finally, I had a friend who worked for a hospital that Accupro contracted with to do overflow.  The owner was constantly behaving unprofessionally, calling the supervisor demanding to know why they didn't have much work, refusing to accept that the department was simply caught up.  When she was reminded that Accupro was contracted to do overflow only, she would attempt to go over the MT supervisor's head.  And then would play games with workflow - not returning work to the facility purposely for days at a time.

The woman shouldn't not be a business owner.  She is totally unprofessional and feels she owns her ICs, but won't make them employees and got help you if you decide to move on.  She becomes vengeful and downright scary!

Okay, this is turning ugly. These kind of comments are unprofessional
If you here work for the company you could be earning money by taking TT up on the big BONUSES this weekend that nobody has mentioned while griping about the headers, etc. um er, how about telling the world that lines and a half are being offered and an extra 50 to 100 in addition. So, why not just put your ugly comments away and get to work!
One word for them..UNPROFESSIONAL. I applied and immediately tested
as they were in a big hurry to have someone hired so I dropped everything, tested, and then NOTHING.. I emailed numerous times asking if they had received my test but they could not even respond to that. The testing was easy and so I just could never figure out why they could not at least say they hired someone else or whatever the reason. I just find them extremely unprofessional (initials KB) if I remember right. I would never work for someone so unorganized anyway.
Wow..you even tested...hmmm. All that shows to me is unprofessional and disorganization.
As much as I hate to get the Dear John, we didn't select you emails, I would rather hear something than nothing.  I can handle that kind of rejection but when I waste my time applying, and then they do not even have the common courtesy to respond back on any level.  That truly just shows me that I would not work for a company like that.  It just gives you a little preview of how they do business.
As a MTSO, why would he/she feel the need to come to a public board and complain? Unprofessional in
x
Even so, it is very unprofessional and rude to not reply back when someone took the time to test!!

A typo does not make it unprofessional. Perfect doesn't exist.

We all do our best, but typos will happen from time to time.   Won't matter tomorrow and certainly won't matter next year.

Any manager worth a grain of salt wouldn't even reply here. How unprofessional.
nm
Thank you for being so honest!
I work for MDI-FL and I know they post on here but I don't say anything on here that I have not said to them or would say to them. Honesty, it's an amazing tool, huh? Again, thank you and good luck to you!
Many honest MTs/not all bad
Yes there are many dishonest owners I am sure, been there as stated above. But rest assured, there are some great MT and owners out there who are very honest and will pay for the hard work we do, I know I work for one!!!! Just beware of the ones who have numerous accounts floating around among all their MTs, being done all times of days at their convenience(as they are working their day job at the same time)and dont always have time for you, and promises of many new accounts to come that you never see. These are the ones to watch for. I think all MT need to look out for this behavior and warn others to run when it comes their way. Make sure you are being mentored on your work and not doing there work that they claim as their own. Get your credit where it is due. keep looking good, honest owners are out there.
honest MT
I know myself of that practice with PJ transcription. She had her pay with her day job while mentoring me and getting my pay for my work also, must be why she gets paid vacation and I did not. Well I learned the hard way.
Yes, and I'm not being mean just honest..
There IS a difference.
Well, to be honest
Most companies don't consult their employees when they decide to sell. Someone either was ready to retire or tired of the business. Face it, it is a high-stress business.

I have a feeling not just the MTs were surprised.

No need to be mean, but do be honest.
In this case, I would tell her that most companies cannot provide the kind of help that you were, and what she needs is to go to school (or back to school). If she presses you and says she just needs something easier, explain firmly but kindly that radiology is mostly anatomy and contrast terms, so it isn't one of the more difficult specialties, but it does require near 100% accuracy, which is why you tried so hard to help her. If she is not willing or able to return to school, she should think about another kind of work. Just say it as kindly as possible IMO.
To be 100% honest
Thank you for your response.  I totally agree.  Actually, I've already decided not to accept work from them unless it is way over the limits and 300% better than any job I could ever find anywhere else on the earth.  What I am wondering now, of course, is just how I can best JERK THEIR CHAIN in each of 2 scenarios---a BAIT and SWITCH where they offer a different account than what was originally advertised, and a we needed you yesterday for this account, but someone better came along and now they have quit?   But, I guess I already know the answer to this.  It's kind of like letting the telemarketer go on and on with the speech, asking complicated questions, taking up their time, pretending to be interested, and finally saying NO.
Well to be honest....
A lot of times a terminology course is all you need providing it's thorough. There's almost no point in learning the equipment in school because so many places use their own equipment which you may or may not even be trained on. Each place I've worked I've used something different. Tell her to take the term. course and brush up HARD on her English skills and everything else can and will be learned on-the-job. My friend only took a term. course, worked in the Med. records dept as a clerk first, then there was an opening in our MT dept which pays more so she just jumped in the deep end. We were all there to help her which was time consuming but we were happy to do it and she was eager and wanted to do well so she absorbed as much info as she could and now she's been doing this for 4 yrs and is working at home.

Tell your friend to go for it. I wish her luck! :)
okay, then let's be honest here....sm
It is really no skin off my nose whether you care about me or not.  That does not negate the fact that MTs should behave as professionals if they wanted to be treated as such.

Bottom line......The levels to which I have read of some MTs stooping to on this board does not belie a professional attitude.  Personally, the whole thing makes me pretty nauseous.  Backbiting, conniving, and manipulating may get you to the top of some professions but it won't keep you there long because there will be someone somewhere along the line that will pull the rug out from under you.

In the immortal words of  Forest Gump.....that's all I have to say about that.
Thanks for being honest! (nm)

To be honest...
I wouldn't do it unless you really like working twice as hard doing VR for half the pay. I worked for them for a while until I went from 80/20 to about 60/40 or less typing/VR. The VR takes a lot of correcting and on top of not making money, it was pretty boring...much like monkey work to me in my opinion. I also had a few doctors who were accented and I could make great lines typing from who went to VR because they passed the testing but their VR reports were horrid and took me longer to review than to just type it. I would never do VR and especially not for pennies. I hope this helps. They seemed like a nice company but it was just more work than it was worth without any challenge for my brain.
To be honest
It's the wave of the future and even companies such as MDI-MD are making the transition.

My honest advice would be to stop fighting it, join a great MTSO team, and learn it. Make sure you get decent pay for it and just go for it. Unfortunately, I don't think any MT will be able to avoid it for much longer, so it's better to get on with a good company and learn it before it becomes mandatory.

Just my 2 cents...
ANP is not honest

Why did I keep working for them after 3 months?  You don't keep working with ANP - you are lucky to get 1 to 2 files A MONTH with them.  If you make $100-$150 A MONTH with them, you are lucky!  This is not steady by any means. Larry will tell you that it can be hit or miss on the workload when they sign you on, but they absolutely do not have the work that you think.  They have a calendar that you put your work days availablility and how many hours of dication a day you want - you will never, ever get that - not even close.  I went the entire month of May with ZERO files.  They have their favorites and that's where the work goes.  I know this because I accidentally was sent a e-mail that definitely wasn't for me to see.  It is not medical transcription at all - it is medical seminars and if you haven't done general transcription with multispeakers and poor audio, you will be in for a surprise.  You don't just sit there and type - you have PowerPoint presentations and slide presentations you have to look at while you're typing to see where you are at and what they are talking about.  It is rather time consuming.  Bottom line is they don't pay you for whatever measly pittance you earned!

To be honest
I don't think you're gonna get a straight answer anywhere. I just suggested Transcend direct because they're the only ones who COULD make any type of guarantee, but I'll betcha they don't ;-)
Just be honest and tell the truth.
If the service is one of integrity, they'll appreciate your honesty.
