anyone work for Oracle - do they use Word or a Word-based program - e-mail me nm

Put the extra work in to studying ESL accents, word expanders, become
more proficient as an MT and you will become more valuable and get better line count. Just IMO.
It does work, you do not need to "make" it work.. it works in all word based programs.

What in your experience is the most efficient Word-based radiology platform to work on? nm

word expanders
Shorthand is really good.  Go to PCshorthand.com
Word expanders

Does anyone know if most of the companies will permit you to use your own expander? I have used the same product since around 2000 and love it.  I have tried others and just do not like them.

For those in the KNOW:  If a company provides software/computer, are most willing to permit use of this type of software in lieu of theirs? I would wish it to be negotiable.

small to medium company that works in Word or Word-based program - email me. nm

Templates and word expanders
Figure out which abbreviations trigger an easy memory response. For instance, I've seen people put pn for pneumonia, but that just seemed to trip up my brain and so I put pne. Do you have doctors that use the same phrase over and over? For instance, nothing to indicate; that's nti. intrinsically and extrinsically is iae. no acute disease noted is nadn. You get more lines by typing (in the above example) 4 letters and getting paid for 22 (with spaces). I organized my templates by first 4 letters of last name and first 2 letters of first name - i.e., John Brown is browjo. (This habit started when I had a large hospital with 2000 doctors and this was the only way to keep them straight.) Then, if it's an H&P, it's browjohp; or discharge is browjods, etc. Seems complicated and you may find an easier way to catogorize, but once it's set in your brain, huge masses of data can easily be sorted through, accessed, appear on your screen, and half your typing is done for you.
Deventure and word expanders

I was just hired by Deventure and was wondering what, if any, the MTs at Deventure use?  I currently don't have one and before I buy one I want to make sure it will work with the platforms at Deventure.  Thanks in advance for any replys!

Spheris radiology word expanders
Does anybody know what word Expanders Spheris uses for Meditech radiology?
Does the Emdat platform use Word or is it Word-based? nm
nm
The platform is not Word, but it is Word-based. I
had little Word experience and the recruiter told me to try to find a book to learn the basics of Word as their program is Word-based.
It can if it is word based
Any word based Expander can be copied over into Medware.
DVI - MS Word based
nm
But I thought that was not Word-based. Is it? nm

Is Emdat word-based?
nm
Is that a Word-based platform?
I just applied for that position and they e-mailed me with some questions.
Meditech word-based?
Anyone working for company that uses this?  From my understanding they count lines according to the amount of minutes you type.   Those of you experienced on this version of Meditech, please share some insight.  Thanks.
Word based platform
Are there any GOOD companiesthat work on a Word-based platform?
they run off a word-based platform
it's not very stream-lined and kinda klunky, but efficient enough.  I know they've made recent updates to make it run a little faster, but there were times when i would spent two to three minutes after filling out the screen waiting for my work screen to appear.
What is Iscriptor (Word based??) and ... NM
xxxx
No, it's not Word based at all, totally different...nm
xx
Their own platform. Shorthand, Word based. nm
.
It's not word based - keystroke combos are different. NM
xx
Sounds great! Is it Word-based?
I am totally clueless about it!
yes, it is word based. And very user friendly. IMO.
nm.
It's Rapid Text-a Word-based
program. It has most of the templates built in. Very user friendly. Pretty much, if you can type in Word, you can use this platform.
MT-World Transcription - which is word-based. nm
/
Is the platform good? Word-based? Is the new
position still recruiting? Just passed the written and doing the transcription next..
?If it's not Word-based, it shares a lot of the same commands..sm
So whatever. Ctrl-C, V, X, etc. Agree it can be slow but has gotten better. By far not the best I've used, but also not the worst. Almost last, though. ShortHand is crap, but you can use IT. Good luck.
Word-based, expander included, easy to use...NM
NM
iType is word based, iText Expander SM...
is included in the program and it works great for me. They were able to import my old PRD files right into it. Cost zero. You do need your own spellchecker. Pretty good program, reasonably MT friendly.
Do they use MT-World software? Is it Word based? Easy? Productive? Thx. nm
s
It is their own platform but not word based. Shorthand is the macro stuff.
Pretty decent place to work.
Similar. ExText is Word based. I prefer it to Meditech for ease of use.nm

Is Apex an internet word-based platform? Havent heard of it...
x
Only some of MW uses that. The ER work is all done on MeriT, which is their own. nm
x
Not all MW ER work is on MeriT - sm
I work on a primarily ER account and we are on the Dictaphone platform.  I really love working for Medware.
Load DQS first, then expanders. DQS will disable expanders otherwise. sm
Not sure about the compatibility of DQS and WebCorrect files.
I should say that this is for ER work, employee, Merit system. nm
x
Just wanna work in Word - need company that works in WORD! nm
nm
Yes, it's totally word based, but it's also totally slow.
I haven't had a very good experience using dictaphone EXText. I wouldn't recommend anyone work on this platform. I don't know how anyone can say this is a very productive platform in any way whatsoever. Actually, it is the worst I've ever worked on. I like Bayscribe, DocQscribe, and many others over this setup.
I used to work for them, if they are AR based nm
nm
Yes, they are Indian-based and not nice to work for/with. nm
x
Based on what...do you say that I will be out of work? Have you personally experienced this?
As for meaning and substance, the words speak for themselves. If you are not sure what they mean, Webster's is always helpful.
Company I work for is based out of Texas
My main accounts are elsewhere but since the hurricane, the hospital we do there is not up and running so those girls are working on other accounts. It's slow everywhere. And yes, over-hiring is a big part of it.
Work is easy, very nice owner, pays weekly, work in Word.

Oops! That s/b I prefer home based work.
