Heads up every body! sm
I thought this was rather interesting.  A while back I posted about working a short time for a company and then leaving because I wasn't happy with the platform and got a better offer.  Anyway, I was not paid for my work and about a month had gone by, so I posted here asking for help and was given a few good places to start.  I recently received an e-mail from said business with a copy of my post from this board, basically Ha!, we caught you.  However,  I did receive my pay 3 days later.  So, for anyone who doesn't think companies take time to read these boards, think again.   I  never imagined transcription company owners would have time to sit around reading posts on MT boards.
Any body know anything about a company named PTS,
curious.  I tried Archives but could not come up with anything.  TIA.
Never Fails.....Another Busy Body
Such a pathetic, unprofessional post.

You do not know the reasons for my question. Can't a person just inquire of a job on this site without this kind of bashing. I think you've set up your own demise. You shouldn't have far to fall. Good luck.
I did too long-time MT before MT killed my body and I had to do QA.
There are always folks who have to belittle those who know their stuff but fact is, it can be done. I even used to do $52 an hour on weekends when I was paid 13.5 cents a gross line. I could easily do 400+ lines an hour. In any event, I am a veteran who has been in the business well over 30 years and don't have to look up spellings, get it right the first time, knew my accounts and that's how WE do it. There are those I know who do it now and they are very valuable in this industry. Those who cannot do it, will get there one day but are not there yet and it is hard for them to believe, but we know :)
Any body work for Opti-Script ...sm

How are they to work for? pay, type of account, etc.

As I *said* in my post body, it IS awful that at MTSO cm
would not pay. I agreed with you on that. If you want me to grow some guts, as you say, sorry. Throwing the term demonic around when forewarning someone is just a little unnerving. Perhaps I was just not ready to envision demons and evil first thing in the morning. LOL

As I said before, I do agree with you that this person should definitely be held accountable for her actions. It is sad that our profession has come to this. I hope your friend gets her money back 100 times over and that this MTSO is put out of business as soon as possible.
I try to keep my mind and body busy outside transcribing
Sounds hokey but works for me. I work evenings, which I love. Seems like I always have a list or a practical plan in my head (and actually follow through with some of them, ha-ha), and I try to keep physically busy outside and inside daily when not transcribing (usually not really to exhaustion) so that when I DO finally get ready to transcribe, I'm glad to be able to sit. With the nicer weather, this works well, of course; I'm outside a lot more in the yard or walking (winters in Ohio are another story, though). Doing for other people who need me has very therapeutic for me; I didn't always think this way. I've gotten more involved with my aging mother, we babysit the grandnephews sometimes. Being very involved in local church has been great (I'd recommend that to anybody of any age). Not isolating myself has been key for me for these past few years in particular (have been transcribing 32 years). When I finally sit down to transcribe, I just want peace and quiet and the work settles me down. I realize how grateful I am to be able to stay home and appreciate my life.
If you have a nice body, it isalso noteable
if it is covered by a long dress. In Saudi Arabia they are not called 'burkas', they are called differently.

BTW, for whom do you 'want' to 'flaunt' your nice body?

The only one to whom I want to 'flaunt' my nice body is my husband, not even my boyfriend.

You see, even American women differ.

I can already say now that you should not go to Saudi Arabia or any Muslim country.

Unless you were joking!
AHIMA is not a regulatory body. I read da-nose and think it is brilliant.
Billing practices have long been an issue in this industry, but I guess I don't see where you are coming from on the impending regulation thing. It has been a long week for me and looks to be a longer weekend so my brain cells are a bit drained, lol.
Just do your work and quit being a cherry picking busy body.
Maybe some people cannot understand the dictator. If you understand the dictator, then just do the report and quit whining on this board.

Any body hear of a company in MA that is hiring editors for 3 cent a line? sm

I asking for someone else, the email was signed Jay

What "new center"?
nm
The Transcription Center
Has anyone worked for this co. in Texas that could comment?
It is a losing game. They make next to nothing, get paid for a warm body count. Losers. Recruiters

Try Kimball Medical Center

I'd still contact the solution center
I got the email from my STM this week as well (bet we have the same one!), but I have not been experiencing any problems. It is still very possible that the reason you are having so many difficulties is something to do with your router (if you have one) or ISP. I know how frustrating it is when the platform keeps freezing up on you. I was having so much trouble until I changed the settings on my router and now it is smooth sailing. Definitely contact the Solution Center and see what they can do to help you. There's no reason to suffer through it if there is a fix out there.
Doctor's Medical Center
I searched this board and couldn't find any specific info on this company.  Does anyone work for them?  Know anything positive or negative about them?  Know about their pay scale?
A local surgery center
I was referred to them through someone else. They have had trouble keeping a transcriptionist. Now I know why.
CMC (Carolinas Medical Center)
is located in Charlotte, NC. I know, because I used to work there. They have bought A LOT of the hospitals in North Carolina. It is a VERY large corporation. Good company to work for.
Anybody work on the outpatient surgery center at e-MTS?

Interested in knowing what the account's like, i.e. platform, dictators, productivity, et cet.  Tx.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center

Does anyone know anything about what it is like to work for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.  Can you work remote?  How is the pay?

Sonora Regional Medical Center
This seems to be the name of the hospital Janis Reed advised.  She says the ad said weekend only.  Rather snappy reply from her via email.
8 center per gross line...as good as 9/65 cpl?

Anyone here for for University of Kansas Medical Center? Please let me know. Thanks.
I work at home for a national now and I'm wondering if KU outsources or does in-house and about their benefits. Not a newbie, have 11 years experience in acute care. Rock chalk!
I just read on their website under Employment Center (sm)
that they are hiring.  I know they had a job listing posted on here a week or so ago for experienced Docuscribe MT's.  I work on Meditech there but would kill to get back on Docuscribe again!  I loved it...
Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia is hiring - nm

I see that Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is hiring.
"Training" is on location but after training, there will be multiple excuses as to why you can't go home to work. Supervisor is NEVER there. Pay is not TOO bad, but working in-house is horrible. Just thought I would throw my opinion in and try to save the next poor soul who falls for their "promises".
Another example of the "bizarreness" is when I worked for our regional medical center
Nicholas who was clearly of Indian descent kept faxing and calling the transcription department of our hospital wanted to submit a bid to do our transcription. The manager politely declined but he continued to call EVERY day..I guess to see if she'd wear down. She then faxed them an official stop contacting us letter but it continued. Finally, she had the hospital's attorney send them a final notice in regards to legal action and they called after that. Honestly, at that point, I came home so I dont what ever become of it. I know it blew our minds. It must be a cultural thing.
The solution center's memo of an upgrade to the system SM
in the next couple of weeks (not on company computer right now so don't remember exact date) includes release notes that says the issue of the platform freezing will be corrected. I hope this fixes some of my own problems.
Solutions Center told me problems wouldn't
be fixed any time soon because it was going to cost a lot of money to do it.  I had the worst boss ever and I'm so glad to be free of that place.
I have no info, but the energy center is named after my grandfather nm
Frank R. Applegate Energy Center
anyone see the post on job board for regional medical center, 13 cents??
nm
Nope, just tired of the whining; feels like a daycare center
Seems to me all the time and energy put into this board whining over something that cannot be changed would be more wisely used either (a) learning VR or (b) putting out one's resume.
University of Iowa Med Center announced layoffs yesterday
I think the news report said they were getting rid of 130 people now, a total of 200 this year. Fortunately (their word, not mine), they're not going to have to make any cuts in people who have patient contact but in administrative areas (that'd be us). Truthfully, I'm not sure if they even still have in-house transcriptionists, but you know that if they do, they'll be the first to get their marching papers.
Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Center City Phila uses Diskriter
.
What I read was that they opened a center in India BUT were adding work for them and keeping their
domestic work force as well.
