who MAKES you take the good with the bad

in your life (not having insurance in your state) but you are willing to TAKE the good with the bad.  It was a personal choice and something you can do something about.  If you are a really good MT who is valued by your company who does not offer insurance in your state, negotiate to get the same treatment as an MT working for them where there is insurance in that MTs state.  If they contribute to that MTs HI, why can't they cut you a monthly check for that amount so you can independently get the insurance you need.

Be inventive.  You're settling for lessor benefits than others within this company because they treat you well (which I think is a good thing) but they are also taking advantage of you and it benefits their bottom line not to have you in their health insurance package.

Stand up for yourself.  Hope you don't take this negatively but someone said to state just the facts.  The facts are you are willing to accept less than another MT with the same company that benefits that company and that decision is yours and yours alone and it hurts you.

Don't you want to live differently?

I don't like it, but makes good business sense (sm)
Why pay OT to us when they can farm the overflow out at a lesser rate. I know some accounts have a $ penalty involved if companies run out of TAT.

So far WMX has been fair and upfront with me and as long as they are providing me with enough work to get my hours/line I feel they are keeping up their part of our business arrangement.

Webmedx hires some ICs. Good company. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!

Good, bad or ugly about Webmedx??? NM

Webmedx good reviews

I thought they were OK too but maybe not...the posts I read in the archives said they paid well..but guess I'll look elsewhere

WEBMEDX is a good company
Thanks...I'll leave it in the mix before I decide what to do!
Webmedx does, and good company n/m
:)
Good benefits at Webmedx - sm
medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance; PTO and holidays. Lots of work, you use their equipment. ESL - that may be more of an issue. But it doesn't hurt to find out what is open at this time. Good luck to you. I was outsourced from my hospital job about 10 years ago and feel lucky to have ended up at Webmedx.
Webmedx is not horrible but not good either.

Any info good or bad in regards to Webmedx radiology
x
Webmedx radiology MTs?? How are they to work for and good pay?

TIA....

Working for WebMedX is a good choice
From the companies available to work for, I would say this is one of the better.  They have really decent benefits, the pay is good, they don't hassle you.  Feedback/QA is great.  I have to say they are one of my favorites that I have worked for and they are very fair to the employees.  (Another good company is Phoenix).
Webmedx is a good company to work (sm)
for.  Good benefits, fair pay.  They give you a 12-hour window to get your work done.  Be forewarned, though, most of their acute care has a GREAT DEAL of ESL dictators.  If ESLs are a problem for you, you might want to consider carefully before accepting a job with them.  QA is the absolute best.  I think my manager is the greatest, don't know about others.
Didn't Webmedx get good reviews here?
I was under the impression they were a-ok? Hmm...
Webmedx offers PPO and good dental. nm
.
Webmedx is great for me; good benefits, sm
PTO, reasonable insurance cost. Plenty of work, decent platform (although we had some trouble last week but that's rare). I realize one company can't be right for everyone, but Webmedx has been great for me. 8 years and counting.
Webmedx has pretty good benefits sm
The benefits at Webmedx are pretty good. You are eligible for benefits after 90 days. I am paying about $400 per month for a family plan for health, dental, and vision. The coverage is pretty good for general visits and pharmacy, but there is either a $1000 or $2000 deductible (depending on which plan you choose) for hospitalization, after which insurance pays 80% and you pay the rest. There is also a deductible for certain medical supplies. My son is a type 1 diabetic and we have to pay a $1000 deductible for his insulin pump supplies. Not the best insurance that I've ever had, but it is much cheaper than what my husband can get through his work (he would have to pay $1000 per month in premiums for a family plan).
Webmedx is a good place to work and has PT as well as FT. sm
Good luck in your search.
Is this Webmedx? Good news inside for you.
Methodist Health System Selects Webmedx for Medical Transcription Technology
and Services
Company accommodates individual physician preferences and complex technology
environment

ATLANTA, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Webmedx, the fourth largest medical
transcription service provider in the U.S. and a premier supplier of clinical
documentation technology, today announced that Methodist Health System of
Dallas (Methodist) has signed an agreement to implement Webmedx's
Transcription Outsourcing Service and Enterprise(TM) software solution. A
web-native system for transcription and content management, the platform will
support Methodist's transcription needs and interface with the organization's
electronic health record (EHR).

The challenge for our organization was to find a transcription partner
flexible enough to accommodate the varying needs of our physicians while also
delivering superior quality and prompt turnaround time for our reports,
mentions Pamela Stoyanoff, Executive Vice President of Operations for
Methodist Health System.

Methodist and Webmedx technology teams worked diligently to implement
customized, blended, transcription solutions which will help the organization
meet diverse physician requirements and remain competitive. Additional Webmedx
benefits include a strong local presence for ongoing communication and
simplified service invoicing.

At some point in time, a lower per-line transcription price wasn't the
primary driver; quality and superior service was, Stoyanoff concludes.
Webmedx will replace the organization's long-term transcription supplier at
three Methodist hospitals beginning this month. Methodist chose Webmedx based
on our long-standing reputation for quality and the comfort of knowing we
would deliver an exceptional product and support, mentions Chris Cashwell,
Senior Vice President of Client Development, Webmedx.

Offered Job with Webmedx, Any Info? Good, the bad, the ugly??
The offer sounds really good.  I would like to hear from current Webmedx'rs and see how you like it.  Are the production incentives as good as they sound?  The benefits??? Thanks in advance for any information to help me with my decision.
I would recommend something other than Webmedx. If you can get good references regarding Transtech,

Thank you.

I'm at Webmedx after 10+ years at MQ. Good company. Plenty of work. SM
Pay is direct deposit and on time. You have a 12-hour window and 35 hours is considered full-time. I cleared QA review in less than a day, and they leave me alone to do my job. Benefits are affordable. I don't need the insurance, but I understand it's pretty good. Don't get much PTO the 1st year, 3 days. If you know you will need to be off ANY time in the first 6 months or so, tell the recruiter. Line rate is fair and you can negotiate. They have a bonus/incentive plan that allows you to earn good money. Seems like no place is great these days, but they are probably as good as it gets. Feel free to E-mail me if I can help you out.
WebMedX is a good company. Decent pay for high level acute care
They have excellent account managers and a great QA dept. The platform is really quite easy with the improvements they have made, and they are constantly working to make it even better. Everything is geared to making the MT's job easier. I have been with WMX for over a year and I am quite pleased with them.
Just got an E-mail about a Webmedx town hall meeting coming up. Those are NEVER good news. FYI.
I predict they will announce that, due to tough economic times, they will cut the VR rate. You know it is going to happen.
What is Webmedx FL? Webmedx itself is located in Pittsburgh & Atlanta. nm

The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.

Webmedx ad apply at Webmedx or Transhealth ? (sm)
Apply to one address if you need equipment, another if you want to use your own?  Does this mean they are still acting as 2 separate companies?   Can anyone explain this?
what makes them the best?
nm
It just makes me sad...
I love Christmas (at least what it's SUPPOSED to be like)and you're right about the commercialism ruining it. I try to avoid the mobs if I can. We've had 2 people in this area held up at gunpoint for X-box systems! Unreal! It's fun getting together and celebrating the season with family and such, but 'tis definitely the season to be greedy.
I don't think having your CMT makes you a better

MT and I've seen CMTs who did really lowsy work.  I have never considered getting my CMT.   I have always been told that I do top quality work and at companies that do pay a differential for having your CMT, I am paid the same rate.   Some people need letters after their name for whatever reason.

What makes you think KS is any
different than the company you work for? Go ahead. Check them out, but don't come back here complaining.
Can you say what makes you think this.

I don't understand why people take the time to respond to questions but they really aren't telling you anything. If you have something to say...say it.  But please only say what you know.  I'm not interested in what one 'thinks'.  If you 'know' it...let me hear it.

Thanks.

What makes me mad? sm
When new people get hired at a higher line rate and doing easy accounts.
What makes you so sure it is YOUR job? Maybe they just need more help

Makes you wonder
The intro letter they send makes them sound like top professionals - and they waste no time in telling you how many fail their test.

But it makes you wonder when see *several* typo's in the materials that come with the tape - and then they are very lax with the testing process. Something tells me not getting my results was actually a favor in disguise. :)

WHAT MAKES YOU SO SURE
they are living in this country. Most are in INDIA and calling from INDIA!!!! Gotta give these companies credit though. They know how to hire good tech folks to set up in THE U.S.A. and they most likely live here but came from India.
Makes me wonder now..
My husband worked out of state for 3 years and they only took out taxes for that state. He says that when you work in another state, the state taxes for that particular state are the ones they take out. This is also a big co., so they should know the laws too, but if that's the case with MT, I guess you would have state taxes taken out for the state in which the co. headquarters are located. But I certainly can't speak as an expert because I have no idea, just know that's what happened in my hubby's case. It's never been an issue with me because I live in the state where my co. is based.
Makes ya wonder, don't it?
x
makes you wonder

I worked for a company for around 2-1/2 years, basically 7 days a week to help out.  Never got one single incentive for it, nor did I expect it because in my eyes at the time, this was as good as it got.  I also never asked for a day off while I worked there.  I was paid lower than what I've been paid at other companies, in fact, 2-3 cents lower.  I was offered more for other places, but I let personal feelings and guilt if I left them get in the way of business. I liked the personal feel of the company, as there were only about 30 transcriptionists and you had a chance to get to know your doctors--probably about 50 of them.  My skills were good because I was always told that.

I had to leave due to reasons that I didn't have any control over and got literally a 1 sentence reply 3 days later.  Said basically ok, no thank you, no good luck, no nothing.  I still worked my 2 weeks afterwards.  My reason wasn't a run of the mill lame excuse either.  This was my first thanks.  I felt like dirt after sending it and was sick about it for about a week before I did.  I  certainly didn't want them to say oh, please stay because I couldn't have even if I wanted to. I just expected a more grown up response from someone who could definitely write professionally.

Things have since cleared up and I have been back in the job market for about 2 months, so I sent my resume to them and re-applied.  I figured, I liked working there, they liked me--had a great platform, why not?  Well, this was over a month ago and never received an I'm sorry Sharon, we don't need anyone at this time.  I figured, you can give an old employee that much acknowledgement, especially when it comes from a familiar e-mail and you KNOW they've read it as soon as they received e-mail notification because they, from personal experience, always got back to your e-mails within seconds.

I don't expect anyone to kiss my butt, but a little bit of graditude from a place where you aren't just a number, where you are like family, I guess I expected a little more.  Am I wrong?

I have gotten more heartfelt e-mails from companies I have been with less time than that.

Moral of my story:  They don't care about you, so if you don't have to, I wouldn't worry about sacrficing your family, life, and health to care about them.

I have found a better place who won't use me for my time or under pay me or EXPECT that I be at my computer all day every day to help them.

Thanks for listening,
Sharon

What makes you....
so in the know that you look at other people's work. I work there and there are no names on jobs...just MT numbers. I have been there for more than 3 years, was not a newbie when I started, and like it there just fine. I do not brown nose, and do not speak to anyone. It log on, work, and log off. I pass all my QA reviews have absolutely no problems with QA. It is beyond me how all you whiners and complainers know so much about everyone that works there...I would imagine you spent more time gossiping and spreading rumors while there than actually working.
Wow that makes my day - thanks!
as to sensible comments - anyone seen my prozac?
Really makes you wonder huh?

This is just one example of how we as at-home MTs do not really know who we are working for?  This sounds like the ultimate bait and switch.

I don't know about CS but SSc makes you buy...sm

a pedal off the web.  Seems like only a specified brand ($139 .. at a special MT discount will work with their program (LOL).  This isn't specified in their job posting, though.

What makes anyone think only MTs are having this done??
This is a common practice now for jobs of every description, not just in our field. Someone said if I were in their spot might not like, I took bankruptcy years ago and did not buy ANYTHING on credit for years. When I once again tried, had clean slate and like I was starting all over. When I was low on money, I worked several jobs in order to pay my bills then and brought my credit back up to an excellent number now. I have been there (probably worse than most of you now with my bankruptcy) so it can be done and I do not AGAIN mind people checking.
what makes you think they have only 1?
nm
What makes them think someone will
They snooze, they lose.
That makes 2 of us!

They said they sent me an email to download start up but i haven't gotten a thing!
