If the companies don't wanna hear it, and the more we do this (I do this too), they will give us something. Obviously, there is work if they are willing to find us something (even if it belongs to someone else, sad to say). It's hard to band together as we all live in different states, but it can be done, 1 MT at a time. Other than that, it's 1 man for himself AND WE ALL KNOW IT. So don't be hatin' on us who have to fight for our jobs. I'm not one of those MTs who think I need to have my cake and eat it too either. I have 2 true IC positions, therefore, I also work weekends, and I will fight for my job. Do or die, baby.
