My father told me he stayed as long as he did becuase of my brother and I. A year after the divorce he married my wonderful other mother and they will celebrate 30 years of wedded bliss in September. I hate to think of the incredible happiness he would have missed out on by staying with my mother. My mother and I were extremely close up until her death 3 years ago and her life was full of ups and downs but she did have a lot of happiness after the divorce eventually.
