about.  You need a recharge.  Do you minimum payments if at all possible on the cards and then snowball it.  Cut them up; don't use them anymore!  Pay cash for everything....  Save some money each week to do something nice for yourself!  Good luck... and Yes, you do matter!

I just called my friend and sang happy birthday on her lunch hour...sm

Juliet is a kindergarten teacher in NYC...She said, "We just had our Valentine's day cupcakes and pudding, then they went to lunch"...All I could say was "They're not going to gym next, are they?"  She said, "Well yeah, that's their next class".  I said, "Get ready for a barforama!"....If I hadn't already lived through it I could'nt have said it...Poor Juliet  Cat

I just rec'd a call from a close friend who was just dx with sm

mitral valve regurgitation.  From what it sounds like it is a severe case - sudden onset of shortness of breath, chest pain, etc. Does anyone have any info on this on a personal level, i.e., you have it or someone you know have it? She is so young - 38 - and her husband is serving in Iraq.  She takes care of 2 small kids at home by herself.  What kind of hope does she have? I know of 2 surgeries - repair, annuloplasty, etc., but what else is there to do?  She left the hospital on no meds.  They told her they would contact her Monday when the doctor was in.  Of course, this is the military for you.

I am so concerned for some reason.  Her kids are off staying the night at a friends tonight so she can sleep (this is unusual). Also, she told me she just can't get out of bed in the morning anymore (for the past week). From what I read this is the "late" stages, severe cases (extreme fatigue). Whereas some with MVR have no symptoms at all.

Any help would be appreciated here.  Thank you so much.

I have a friend who does this regularly. I am on-call for a few companies locally and sm
am awaiting my next assignment. For the poster below who stated if it's too good to be true...This is a very legitimate business, not a whole lot of money to be made, but legit and fun too. You just have to write down every single thing you've witnessed and check off boxes if a survey is included in the shopping and/or eating experiment.
I need advice. Daughter received a frantic call from a friend, sm

Her friend is at a local sleepaway camp at a local university this week.  My daughter is 18, her friend is 17.  Anyway, the friend called my daughter telling her she had unprotected sex over the weekend (once) with her 17-year-old boyfriend (they claim it was the first time for each).  Anyway, the friend wanted my daughter to pick her up so that she could get a morning after pill.  I looked it up on line and anyone under 17 needs a prescription.  My daughter had come to me, asking me not to tell anyone.  I told her that she should have her friend call her mom.  She said her friend thought her mom would freak out if she found out.  We found a local clinic, but it is only open certain days of the week, and was closed yesterday, so she's going to try again tomorrow.  I've tried to get my daughter to convince her friend to call her mother, that she may freak in the beginning, but parents usually get over it and would want to know.

My dilemma is that my daughter told me this in confidence, and I want her to continue to be able to come to me with anything, yet I wonder if I should call the girl's mother and tell her that her daughter needs help.  Or, just wait until she goes to the clinic and pray that she isn't pregnant.

Does anyone have some advice?

Agree with above, call that doc back - sm
23 days is nuts. My period is about 5 days (not on BC) and it generally wipes me out energy wise, other than that I cannot tell I even have it though. But that is way to long, if you were not anemic before you probably are now, which would definitely make you very tired. Tell your co-worker to stuff it.
If you have their number call them back
I recently bought a repo'd house, and I have been getting constant calls from the creditors of the former owner...how and why they got MY phone number is probably not very legal, based on the address I presume, as I put myself on the "do not call list" the minute I got my new phone number. Capitol 1 in particular was calling me every single day at the crack of dawn (I work 2nd shift) wanting this guy.  Finally I wrote down every number that had been calling me on a log and started calling them back, and behold it was the same company calling from a different number every time!  I began insisting on speaking to supervisors and threatening them with a harrassment lawsuit.  They promised to stop, and then started again in 2 weeks.  So I started calling them back again.  For now it has stopped, but I don't know for how long.  I guess I'll be getting mail and phone calls for this guy forever more (he recently subscribed to some magazines and they're all being sent here).  Sure would like to meet him in person and force him to fill out a change of address form!
Back in the 1970s my dad call me outside. Over the field in
front of our house was a large orange ball just sitting in the sky. A couple of neighbors came over and we watched it for over 30 mins, it just sat/hung there and then finally just disappeared. To this day we have no idea what it was.
Not on a first date-ROFL!! May want to make that ANY date!

Your husband is a coward. He should protect you. God knows what a 'deal' he made with this 'friend'.
a friend's b/friend died last year, drank, took vicodin...

What's for lunch?
I'm sick of the same ole, same ole . . . need new ideas!
lunch
My husband works 12-hour shifts. He takes 2 meals to work with him. Usually a can of soup, a salad and 2 sandwiches, crackers and a few sodas to last him the 12 hours. For him to eat 2 meals out everyday would be way too expensive.

All through my kids' school years, they asked to carry their lunch. Said the school lunches were too nasty to buy. I made a sandwich, crackers or chips, a piece of fruit and a cookie.

Working at home, I eat whatever is here.

I cook 5 out of 7 dinners a week. Even fast food is getting too expensive with 2 older sons and a husband, usually for the 4 of us and fast food, we spend $25 to $30 per trip.
Lunchables. Lunch box or not? (sm)

I put the grandkids on the bus in the mornings and they like to take lunchables, however they don't want to put them in their insulated lunch bags, just throw them in their back pack.  They insist "everybody" does this.  I am a worry wart when it comes to not keeping food properly refrigerated.

Am I being paranoid, is this safe?

re: lunch while typing
Just FYI....NEVER try to eat ramen noodles while you are typing!!! Not a pretty site...LOLOLOL...just a thought to lighten the load!!! hehehehe
And maybe one of them works during lunch.

lunch ideas
Does anyone have any ideas for quick lunches that are yummy?  I live by myself and really do not cook a big meal that often so leftovers are usually out of the question although family members will bring me some goodies from time to time.  What I really need are good lunch ideas for one person.  I get so tired of eating soup and salads.  Open for suggestions!!  TIA
DH and I are w/my family for lunch

and his for dinner.  I have ex-aunt that still gets invited to holiday get togethers since she was married to my uncle for so long and her kids and now a grandaughter will be with us.  She and a real pain in the but.  Even when it is not her house she tries to dominate everything.  Where everyone should sit, when we should eat, the conversation somehow always revolves around her.  She will ask you a question and even before you finsih answering she is off talking about something else.  We basically just roll our eyes and try to avoid her.  This year she wrote a letter to my mom asking her to  move her Christmas Eve plans to a different time (have been doing the same thing for years) to make it easier on her.  Not going to happen.

At DH's house his mother was in a really pissy mood when we first arrived.  I like her most of the time, but lately I have found that I just tend to tolerate her.  She and I have never had any problems but I think her getting older is starting to take its toll.  She and I differ anyway.  Every Thanksgiving it is the same, everyone that comes brings a couple of dishes but she also does some of the cooking.  She doesn't clean up as she goes along, so the sink is always full of dirty dishes before dinner starts and I can guarantee you when we start to clean up we will find that the electric dishwaher ( I am the human one) is full of clean dishes.  This year as soon as we got there she took a hot pot off the stove and put the food into a serving dish.  I decided to go ahead and wash it.  The pot was extremely hot so I turned on the cold water to cool it off just a bit before I washed it.  She came to the sink and turned the hot water on.  I politely said "I was just trying to cool if off a bit before I stuck my hands in it."  "No, that is not the way I do it".  I was stunned.  I have been married to her son for over 20 years and I always wash the dishes.  I don't mind that I certainly am going to do my part.  But this year I said, "well if you want me to leave these for you to do, fine."  I did help clean up after dinner but I did not put my hands in any dishwater.  Besides they were still a bit pruned from cleaning up after lunch. LOL!

Btw, this is the same woman who gives me something that she collects every year for Christmas even though I and her daughter have very politely let her know this is not something I want.

they can also pack their lunch

Lunch spending
My husband usually brings leftovers for lunch. I give my daughter $20 for lunch at school (to put in her lunch account), and that usually lasts a week. My other daughter is home by lunchtime and she eats what we have here at home. We spend about $100 a week on groceries. On the weekends we usually go out at least once, maybe twice for lunch and spend anywhere from $15-$25 depending on where we go. My oldest is a vegetarian so we actually save money because if we get takeout, she usually doesn't find anything that she wants to eat. When I was working outside the home I spent way to much on lunch every day, usually about $50 a week.
How was your date? :) (nm)
xx
This will date me but
I won 2 dance contents actually, one in high school on a local television program and I won a sweater and around age 18 I won a dance contest at one of the night clubs (yes, that is right) around town and I won for dancing the Peppermint Twist and that is the name of the bottle of liquor I won, the Peppermint Twist and heavens knows who made that! If I were able to dance as much now as then, sure would keep that weight down!
Anyone have an up-to-date
Copy of the book "What To Expect When You're Expecting" that you'd be willing to give away? My DIL is pregnant and I think this would be a great resource of information for her. I'd pay to have you send it to me...Thanks ladies!
I'd never date at my age.
I'm 49. If I got involved now with a man, you're looking at taking care of someone in their old age. I don't think it's worth giving up my freedom...in exchange for what? Cooking, cleaning after someone, having to be responsible to someone. Ugh. Been there once for a long time. No desire to do it again. At this age, men are only looking for someone to take care of them.

I'll stick to hanging out with my kids, grandkids, and with the girls.
Pay for his lunch.... Can be arranged through the cafeteria. nm

Better question to ask..... Do they get full at lunch? sm
My youngest who took those finally asked me 1 day to add a sandwich as those just did not fill her up. She is a very petite 8 year old who is very active. They are just not enough!! :)
I also watch while typing or at least try to eat lunch then
I read that the audience will slowly find out who all is in the accident. Like yesterday just about Nick, Sharon, and Jack. I know Cane, Katherine, Lauren, Paul, and the lady cop (can't remember her name). also Victoria (we already know this), JT, and I suppose Adrain. What about Amber? Not sure about her. I think I saw her with blood on her in a preview.
It is worth the wait, but you could go for lunch and not
xx
H went and talked the director at lunch.

She said she was just worried that she might be sick.  She said dd would cry like the whole world caved in and then the next minute she would be happy and play as if she didn't have a care in the world.  I don't really know what it is about.

I haven't taken my own medication for a few days and I guess it has brought out my paranoia.  I have never been as bad off as my cousin but I do take antidepressants.  Yeah, we live in a small town and people like to talk.

Okay, what does your family spend on lunch

What's the family lunch budget for kids and husbands?

Us that work at home don't get a lunch budget I know

Help with play date

About a month ago my I took my 5 yo  swimming and invited one of her friends and her mom.  The two girls played for a good 2 hours until another one of dd close friends showed up so she started playing with him.  Well this upset dd little girl friend and she came to me saying "dd won't play with me. make her play with me. "  I called dd over and said that we invited suzie over so introduce her to Joe and you all three play together.  This just upset dd and made her mad at suzie.  I was not sure what to do but suzie's mom said it was time to go anyway so they left.

Well, just yesterday MIL took me and dd golfing.  DD met another friend and together they played.  The went across the street to the playground then a friend of the other little girl showed up.  Well, the other little girl dropped dd and started playing with her little friend.  DD got upset adn said sandy won't play with me.  I said well, I image you're feeling what Suzie felt when Joe came to the pool.  DD just sat there mad.  MIL said Introduce yourself to the other little girl. DD did not want to do that.  Then MIL said well lets go play on the slide.  DD went and played but she was still upset, she walked up to Sandy and said "I am not playing with you anymore not even at school."  Sandy replys, "That is okay, I have a sister to play with."  MIL told dd not to talk to Sandyl that she wasn't worth it and out loud too.  (Luckily Sandy's parents were not there).   I just said Oh MIL.  I started talking to Sandy.  I asked her if she was ready for school.  Sandy and I had a nice little conversation.  It kind of broke the tension between them.  I am sure all is forgotten by now.

I was just wondering how other parents handle these situations.  TIA

only if he is rich.......but really I would not date - sm
a guy more than a few years younger. I did date a few guys younger 2-5 years which I realized later was a big mistake (in my 20s). My DH is about 7 years older and works out well.
Did you date very long?
Since you are afraid to talk to him alone, see if you can get him to see a marriage counselor with you. If this marriage is going to end, the sooner you can move on with your life the better.
Blind Date
Blind date arranged by a mutual acquaintance.

Married less than 6 months after we met. 9 years end of next month.

So, June Cleaver... what do you pack for lunch?
Finger sandwiches? Please. It is one meal of the day and kids would eat far worse if given lunch money. Now why don't you run along and iron your aprons or something :)
She called twice at lunch and I just didn't answer.

I know she won't listen to me as to why I won't buy, it is not the products it is the issue of having to buy every freak'n month.  That is the isssue.  At least that is how I perceived this from my mom.  I am just going to half to tell her no that if she has nothing else to say go home or hang up I am busy.

As far as the weight issue is, I am sure she wanted to know she she can tell everyone that "well at least I don't weigh as much as cousin because she weighs blah blah blah."  I know that is how she is. As far s the doctor weighing me, I am not sure.  I think maybe some birth control methods doesn't work for women over a certain weight is the only thing I can think of.  I bet though when he dictated his note about me it started with  "this obese 32 YO" LOL.

anonmt-is your husband eating his lunch all by himself?

So sorry to be nosy, but it's been a few days since you posted and I am genuinely concerned about you.  Has he been dumped?

Live alone, don't eat lunch. Usually don't eat until late afternoon.

Anyone know the best place in Destin for a seafood lunch? sm

Hubby and I are going down next weekend for 2 nights and have not been in years.  I would love to hear of any really neat places where we can get a nice seafood lunch for a reasonable price.  Thanks for your help!

I have a standing breakfast date...
every Thursday morning with 3 friends.  Weekends are mostly family time.  My oldest son always comes home from school on Friday night, so we Netflix.  This weekend, we were supposed to play paintball, but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate.
Yoohoo? MT who had date with doc? Pls. share! NM

You can probably make-up a date to see a lawyer
because marriage is based on truth.  Just tell him you are done!  End of story.  If he catches you in a lie, that could spell trouble.  JMO.
