I would call or make an appt with the peds, could be beginnings of cellulitis.

Agree with above, call that doc back - sm
23 days is nuts. My period is about 5 days (not on BC) and it generally wipes me out energy wise, other than that I cannot tell I even have it though. But that is way to long, if you were not anemic before you probably are now, which would definitely make you very tired. Tell your co-worker to stuff it.
If you have their number call them back
I recently bought a repo'd house, and I have been getting constant calls from the creditors of the former owner...how and why they got MY phone number is probably not very legal, based on the address I presume, as I put myself on the "do not call list" the minute I got my new phone number. Capitol 1 in particular was calling me every single day at the crack of dawn (I work 2nd shift) wanting this guy.  Finally I wrote down every number that had been calling me on a log and started calling them back, and behold it was the same company calling from a different number every time!  I began insisting on speaking to supervisors and threatening them with a harrassment lawsuit.  They promised to stop, and then started again in 2 weeks.  So I started calling them back again.  For now it has stopped, but I don't know for how long.  I guess I'll be getting mail and phone calls for this guy forever more (he recently subscribed to some magazines and they're all being sent here).  Sure would like to meet him in person and force him to fill out a change of address form!
Back in the 1970s my dad call me outside. Over the field in
front of our house was a large orange ball just sitting in the sky. A couple of neighbors came over and we watched it for over 30 mins, it just sat/hung there and then finally just disappeared. To this day we have no idea what it was.
Call the friend back and set up the lunch date.
about.  You need a recharge.  Do you minimum payments if at all possible on the cards and then snowball it.  Cut them up; don't use them anymore!  Pay cash for everything....  Save some money each week to do something nice for yourself!  Good luck... and Yes, you do matter!
No, Blondie, give the dogs back or call the Humane Society.....s/m
who can take care of 10 (t e n ) dogs? This is CRAZY!

Your husband is a coward. He should protect you. God knows what a 'deal' he made with this 'friend'.
I had one a year ago and wish I had done it sooner!
My periods only lasted 5-7 days, but they were so heavy.  My GYN said I had adenomyosis, so it is likely I will have to have another procedure at some point, or maybe a hysterectomy, but it was the best thing I ever did and wish I had done it a long time ago.  I was also home by lunchtime.  Had some cramping that day, but nothing major and felt great the next day.
Only regret was not doing it sooner
Thrilled with the results.  I continue to have periods every month, but they are so much more manageable.
Thanks for your responses. I know that I will probably feel better and wish I had done it sooner -
but the thought of having major surgery and being laid up for six weeks is not something I want to do right now. I do have a three month follow-up appt in November so I guess I will just research my options and let myself get used to the idea. Thanks again for your replies.
They should have responded sooner. How scary!

Yup - they'll hit your cell phone sooner or later. I'm getting them now. nm

Went in for appt today and saw NP
and definitely my symptoms matched up with the gallbladder. I just did not know what section of the body it was in but just where I had the acute pain. I threw away my chicken wings. I have not had 1 decent meal since Saturday. Soup and toast. Hubby had made some salad and his own dressing and I did not eat any of that either, just scared it would come back. I did not like that pain. Why was the reason given for the gaining weight thing? I surely do not need that but I have never heard that.
17 years ago I went to an OBGYN for prenatal appt.
I was not happy with him - mainly because I worked in law enforcement and he wanted me to quit immediately - did not want me around guns - he also asked me about sexual diseases in front of my children... I also wanted a C-section as wanted my tubes tied and had had serious complications with my last delivery and did not wish to risk a VBAC. I switched docs and had a C-section 4-5 months later. His office called 3 months after my surgery and asked for the date of the surgery as they did not have it in their records and needed it to bill my insurance. Are you kidding me? Talk about fraud!!
Thanks...I decided to make an appt tomorrow (sm)
wondering if I have some compression on my inferior vena cava when I lie down which is causing hypotension...not sure what is doing the compressing though - guess that's why I need a doctor, huh :-)

It took us about 2 hours for mani/pedi and that was WITH an appt. nm

I have been Freecycling for about a year.  It can be fun.  Just be prepared to work kind of fast if you have something someone wants (and you want to get rid of).  Someone requested a mini trampoline, which I offered to her, and she said she had 8 offers within an hour.   Believe me, you will have no trouble getting rid of your unwanteds.  As for those 10 Magic Fingers...
Yeah. My next appt is in 6 weeks though! LOL I'm not going to do anything. Make him wait..and swe

Update - doctor bill for missed appt

Here is the latest scoop - and thanks everyone for all the support.

I called today and spoke with the office manager, who seemed very nice and truly seemed embarrassed by the whole thing.  She told me that the doctor himself had wanted those letters sent out, and that they are not for patients who missed scheduled appointments at all, which is what I thought it might be (even though I cancelled the appointment at least a week prior to when it was scheduled).  He is charging us for making the appointment and cancelling it!!!  Yes, I am serious.  She apologized, said her hands were tied and that she had butted heads with him over this, but he would not budge.  He told her to tell the patients that they could either pay the $100 or he would turn them over to his attorney.  Again, I am serious.  Talk about a jaw dropper.  She also said that I was not the only patient to be complaining.  Apparently other folks are as upset at this as I am.

I told her that I understood she was in a tough position, and I do.  It is not her fault this doctor is an a double s.  I told her to go ahead and tell him to contact his attorney if he felt he had to, but that I would be filing complaints with the BBB and the Kentucky Med. Licensing folks.

I contacted the BBB, filed a complaint promptly with them, and also talked to the Kentucky Attorney General's office, who are sending me a complaint form.  Tomorrow I will call the Med. Licensing Board, as well as my insurance company, just to put them on alert.

I hate the thought of this quack getting even one person to pay this ridiculous price.  A patient should not be punished for cancelling an appointment.  I just can't even begin to express how sick this makes me, and hopping mad.  Not that I think I am smarter than everyone else, but you all know that doing the work we do kinda takes the "godness" out of the way we look at doctors.  I know that people are going to pay  him when they are threatened with his attorney, and that is just wrong.

Anyhow, thanks for letting me vent and I will keep you updated.

Request for Advice

Hi,

First time here. I was reading through your posts and thought I could get some none biased advice on my current situation.

I am married for almost three years now, we dated for 4 years prior to our marriage, 27 years old and no children.

Here is my little excerpt on my situation:

During the end of our first year of marriage my husband’s drinking began to be an issue in our marriage, and has progressively gotten worse. At the worst point he would get drunk and pass out at his friends house, received a DUI, he would lie about his drinking, spent two nights in jail, passed out on the floor of the house and in the bathroom, we would fight constantly and of course his addiction cost a small fortune (not including the DUI fees). We went to counseling for about six months straight and all the while he was resistant. I left for a week in October, and came back under the impression that he was going to stop drinking (at least work on it). Things, supposedly, were getting better. He has gotten “drunk” twice, started going to AA meetings, reading the AA book and is thinking about getting a mentor to help him through this process. Well tonight he told me that since I came back (in October as stated above) he has been stopping at the liquor store every day after work and any chance he could on the weekend.

My first reaction (as I have had in the past) is I have to leave, and for much longer then a week.
My dilemma is that he will be alone and depressed, and I will be the same. I just started at a great firm with many people who have their lives “together”, and may not understand if this results in a divorce. I am 27 and could be divorced by the age of 28, and who would be interested. I am religious, and the terms of divorce is pretty much accepted for adultery. He mentioned that the reason that he told me that he has been lying to me is because he is taking the first step which is being honest, but he had just drank so he was loaded.

Sorry for the length and I am sorry if anything I have written above is offensive to anyone, that was not my intension I just thought I would express my feeling on the matter, and I am also a little confused right now.

Thank you and any advice would be appreciated.

I having a standing appt to view YouTube every Sunday. Best part is

the enjoyment of forwarding them to my friends for their listening pleasure.  MUSIC IS THE BEST MEDICINE, AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, NO ONE EVER COMPLAINS OF ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS OR ALLERGIC REACTIONS.

I agree, mani-pedi! But that day will be busy, so make an appt if you can. nm

You could just request a diamond solitaire
That's how my husband and I did it.  We picked out a nice diamond together, but if your man wants to surprise you you could just tell him what kind of cut you want etc., and he could pick it up himself.
Is that what the prayer request board is for?

It was a prayer request; put it on PR board, please. NM

She can request emergency leave.
My husband is active duty Air Force, so I know a little bit about the military.  As far as I know, she can request emergency leave because of the situation with her infant.  Also, I do not think they just give military mom's a year off because they had a baby.  I know several women that are active duty military that have had children, and they are given the same amount of maternity leave as a civilian.
We have a Prayer Request board - it belonged there. NM

A child's prayer request from our kid's choir last night....sm
Matthew, age 6, during our children's choir prayer time last night asked for us to pray for his dad, who was just arrested.  When I told him that hopefully his dad would get out of jail soon as I'm sure he missed him, his response was "I don't think so.  My dad goes to jail a lot."   He wasn't sad when he said this - just said it matter-of-factly.  All I could do was tell him that he's not the only child who has a parent in jail and that we'd pray for both of them and his mom.

i got CT scans in the ER. why the need to wait? assuming they had to wait on orders. does he have a PCP? i'd call the PCP if so and explain the situation and what has transpired and see what he recommends, i.e. jump someones tail or transfer. their should be neurologist on call for this reason. they should make rounds daily whether it is the weekend or not. i'd definitely be there waiting on that neurology consult and fill his ear full and find out what his future plans are if you don't transfer to another facility.

It's time to stop when you or the kid(s) feel it is time, and no sooner. sm
My grandmother (who passed away at the young age of 107 back in the mid 1990s) was STILL celebrating every little holiday for all of her many kids and grandkids, and she would STILL give me a chocolate bunny every Easter, as she had since I was a toddler and even though I was 40ish at the time (and I still delighted in biting its head off in front of her, as I had also done since I was a toddler, which always met with mock disapproval from her).

Don't let anyone dampen your joy in celebrating your traditions.
Thank you! I didn't realize they made computer glasses. Will make an appt. Spit didn't wor

She's paying for it
You can be sure she is paying for the extra attention. Also, the hospital likely insisted that all that security be provided, not because they are necessarly worried about Britney but about people trying to get near her. The last thing they want is for her to get harmed while she's in their institution.

Usually if there is a VIP patient, they don't keep the chart all in one place - they parse it out in 3 or more different locations under lock and key.

Britney has always gotten that kind of treatment - when she was in Mousekeeters, everyone had to leave the gym where she worked out when she came for her exercise. Britney is a little snot, always has been even as a young teenager - turns on the sweetness for the cameras. Millions of people have bought her act.

However, I do feel for her in her present situation and hope she can turn her life around now.
Then they can get right back on their tires and rafts and float on back to Cuba! nm

Me again, tell you what I did about paying a bill for a dog
like I said above, huge animal lover. I have 3 furkids but a friend of mine whose son is a druggie, was not seeing about his dog. The dog needed an operation for a growth on his foot. I paid over $1000.00 for that and now I buy my newly adopted doggie its medicine each month. I never give my friend money because want the money to go for the doggie, not drugs for her kid but you can believe I am seeing the doggie is comfy!
Okay, I don't mind paying
to make sure everything is in order! Thanks for all the advice!

paying for college
I have two sons in college right now ...one out-of-state, one in a private university.  They both end up getting paid to go to school because they have so many scholorships.  Did the high school counselor help me find any....NO. We are in a small town and I got no help from the school or town. Neither one of my sons played any sports...but I will tell you what I found out...what is more important is that your child is involved in school and the community.  They don't care if they  have ever worked a day in their life...they want to know what they have done in school grade wise, and community wise. Even just ringing the bells for the Salvation Army at Chrismtas time will earn you a scholorship. I filled out over 56 scholorships for both my sons to go to school for free...you just have to learn as you go how to word answers on the scholorships.  We are not poor but we are not rich...but we made to much money to get any FAFSA help.
paying off bills
In our case, we refinanced through someone in our church who had a refinance company.  It included all our credit cards and no, we did not have to cut them up.  We still have them and DO NOT EVER USE THEM.  It also included paying off our cars.  The reason we had so much debt is because I wasn't able to get enough work at that time, now it is great and I can only say we pray and God has blessed us above measure, more than we deserve.
paying off bills
BTW we also pay an extra $100 each month on our mortgage.  Years ago someone told us to do that and were never able to until now.  Yes, I work hard, but we are doing great and even eat out once or twice a wk and sometimes more.  This friend in our church also agreed paying the extra $100 a month.  I have heard other fincance people on the Christian radio station saying the same thing, so it does make sense.  You pay the extra amount on the principal only.

I am not against paying for your child's
but I have no intention of doing that for my own children. There are so many kids out there who have everything handed to them. I believe it will teach my children the value of a dollar and the value of their education if they pay for it themselves or with scholarships and hard work. I do encourage them to keep their grades up and will encourage them to apply for scholarships, grants, etc. I think either parent should have to foot the bill for college. If they want to, great; if not, I don't believe the court system should get involved.
Wow if you & hubs are paying that much
in taxes and didn't qualify for stimulus check (because you make too much?), ya'll must be rakin' it in!! Don't think you deserve much sympathy either, right? I know you we're asking for it, but seems a little harsh to kick someone when they're down...
Paying down debt

It is getting harder to make ends meet because of all the straws in our bank account.  I have 17k in CC dept alone.  It is with 4 different CC companies.   One CC has $200, #2  has about 4K, #3 has about 2K, #4 has 10k.  The 10K one has a 15 % APR, the others I believe range from 24% to 29% APR.  My biggest monthly payment is my house and I owe only  $4700 on it and it has 6.3% APR.  I sold some things and am getting $5K and that will be enough to pay off my house.   I would love to finally, officialy own this house and get rid of that $350 monthly pmt,  but I wonder if I should not pay down on the CC because of the high interest rates.  Any opinions.  TIA.

Paying Down Debt
I feel you, believe me.  First, Bravo to you for facing this.  That's the hardest part.  I think if you are so close to paying off your house, you wouldn't want to take out yet another loan against it.  Additionally, the interest rates aren't that great.  What is the total of payments you are making on your credit cards?    If you can slap that 5000.00 on your debt first on all of the higher interest ones perhaps paying some of them off.  That will free up extra money to put on the rest of your credit cards.  Then once the credit cards are paid off, you can then work on the mortgage (I WISH I had your mortgage..).  Also we work in an industry where it is easy to pick up extra work---have you thought of that just to get extra money to pay off the debt?  That's what I'm trying to do.  Things are just so bad right now.  Good luck, hope this helps...
Forgot to add - what about them paying
for their part of the cell phone bill as well as insurance on their vehicle?
