if not she will walk all over you and know that she can do what she wants because you don't mean what you say. I am the main disciplinian in my house and do what I say I am going to do. My DH was in the habit of threatening something then backing out of it or changing it. Needless to say the kids listen to me and are not as good with him. He is getting better in his followthrough though as I told him in a few years they won't believe a word he says it he keeps it up--- he also promises to do things with them then changes his mind, not too cool. He took them out today to one of the fancy malls here, then lunch and bowling as he has been out of town for the last 3 weeks (home on weekends) and will be gone next week too, so trying to spend some good time with them. But the kids know what mom says, mom does, in both activities and punishment. So if I were you I would take the car away for a min. of two weeks, at most a month. Let her deal with the consequences of her actions.
