And if recruited, would send my child to
Canada.
I don't know about that - guys like that usually suffer in prison - even most criminals hate chil
He would probably get what he deserves better in prison - from the other prisoners, as long as they don't let him out!!
I agree, I would send just send a card....
maybe a mass card if they are Catholic.
And you have a right to your beliefs, however (sm)
as I said in my original post, these people do not represent Christians. They are a hate group and should not be considered anything other than that.
Yes, beliefs would be correct. Why would you sm
live your life like that - not being positive or certain about anything? I, for one, believe in God deeply and I take Him at His word and if He makes a promise I hold Him to it and He's yet to forsaken me. Unless you've been there I guess you can't understand what I mean.

I know things can happen. I've been through some extremely difficult times in my life (losing a child), but I do say words like refuse and I AM, or I WILL and then I do them. I don't leave my life up to chance. I don't say I hope to do this or that. If I want something bad enough I go after it and usually don't quit until I get it. Yes, it's in my beliefs. It's my core. It's who I am. I am very positive, despite the many setbacks I've had in life.
I would not bash anyone for their beliefs
however, I do disagree. If my child came to me that he/she were gay, I would never in a million years tell them I disapprove of their lifestyle and that God does not approve either. As a mother, I would want my child happy and comfortable with their sexuality. I think a lot of damage is caused by parents who enforce their beliefs on their children. With it comes guilt, low self-esteem, unhappiness, self-disdain and anger. I would never ever subject my child to those feelings no matter how I felt about the situation.
I think the question is, is he secure with HIS beliefs?
I always wondered about religious zealots....Like those who are extremely "homophobic" but then turn out to be closeted gays (ever seen American Beauty?) maybe he's just trying to convince himself he believes.
Beliefs, those do not even play into any of this warped thread
I just believe in what I think, no amount of reading could ever change my mind because I have seen for myself, not something I have read- seen as in children crying trying to urinate, trying to get the prepuce pulled back, hurting and yelling. You are ridiculous.
You need to read some books on early Hebrew beliefs
`
Should say the child found in Florida proved to be the Caylee child, homicide.

send the 2yo to the
I have found the best way to handle it is to refuse to buy my husband any clothes at all. He has to go and buy his own clothes, and live with the look. It is none of my business. I only fill requests for bags of socks.
I always send
I always give a beautifully illustrated children's book, which truthfully people are never impressed initially, but after they cuddle their babies and read to them about 100 times in the middle of the night when they are sick, and eventually teach their kids to read the book back to them, they usually decide to keep it forever.

But receiving blankets are nice also.. :)
I wouldn't send it and this is why . . .
People like this get off on how they are hurting people. She can see in your email that you are hurting, and although it is a valiant and kind effort on your part, she will see it as a sign of weakness and groveling, which is what would delight her.

I'm so sorry you're put in this situation. You sound like a kind, gentle person and you certainly don't deserve the way she treats you.

The only thing I can suggest is to be around her as little as possible (family gatherings, traditions, etc.) and always choose to be in another room, on the opposite end of the dinner table, etc., as physically far away from her as possible.

Continue to be pleasant, don't stoop to her level, and you don't owe her an apology for anything.

She's the one with the problem, not you.
Know anyone can send email...
I said sent in error and that is what happened, not that you had anything to do with this, you did not. Apparently by saying independent and asking about how to send in taxes, this person thought I was maybe owner of a company. Maybe rereading the post I held no one accountable, no one. I would never respond to a post like this because of it being from India and just too many scammers out there for me. The first sentence says - - I don’t know where they got my email unless this site is giving it out - this sentence did not come from me.
Where are you? Wish I knew how to send
pictures so I could show you what our place looks like. I live in suburb of Atlanta and even the bigger homes in my neighborhood, say the 2-3 story places do not run, say over 400-500$$. I could not imagine paying huge price for a home to have a cracker box. I think lot of people paying huge amounts for homes would be surprised if they went on line and checked for homes say in Henry County or Fayette County, both just right outside Atlanta. You really get a bang for your buck here. Not only the cost but wonderful place, clean, quiet, really nice. What are the costs of your homes there?
Maybe I should send milk
I can't believe the milk prices elsewhere. Anyone want NY milk. LOL.
Let me send you my address...LOL!! nm

Send the over 60 crowd to war....

Maybe this should be on the politics board but it's funny on any board......

Drafting Guys over 60
----this is so Funny & obviously written by a Former MARINE-----

New Direction for any war
:
Send Service Vets over 60!
I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing ass-backwards.  Instead of sending 18-year olds off to  fight, they ought to take us old guys.  You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35.

For starters
:
Researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds.  Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts!  I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry' We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10 a.m. Old guys always get up early to pee so what the hell.  Besides, like I said, 'I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical son-of-a-bitch.

If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them.  In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys.  We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food.  We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however.  I've been in combat and didn't see a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.  I can hear the Drill Sgt. In the 'New army' now, 'Get down and give me ... er .. One.'

Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too. I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.

An 18-year-old has the whole world  ahead of him. He's still learning to shave, to start up a conversation with a pretty girl.  He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way.

Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten cowards terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see right now is a couple of million pissed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons who know that their best years are already behind them.

If nothing else, put us on border patrol....we will have it secured the first night!

Share this with your senior friends.  It's purposely in big type so you can read it..........

OMG! Please tell me you didn't send this
While I fully understand wanting to protect your kids and trying to deal with the bullying this is definitely a letter that would create a bigger problem (at least that is the way I read it). If I was the receiver I would be outraged.
If my kids were being bullied, I would call the parents and introduce myself and tell them about our kids being in the same school then very politely and gently tell them what has been happening to your kids.
When I read this letter I was picturing myself being the receiver and found myself infuriated. It is very condescending, and is basically telling the parents they are really lousy (can't write the true word) parents. There has to be a better way to deal with this.
I would not send son back.
//
he did send a thank you letter
the following day. See I don't know if the secretary gave the interviewer the message and he didn't call back or if he didn't get it. If he did get it I'm worried if he calls again he'll seem to pushy.

They should just make it a law that you have to tell them right after the interview!! LOL
Anyone know of a place I can send...sm
My father took our wedding pictures as he is good behind a camera and we wanted to save some money. But now (a year later..lol) I want to have some of them cropped and black and white and softened, etc. Anyone know of a reasonably priced place I can send a CD of pictures to and have them edit them and print them out for me so I can finally create my wedding album? Thanks in advance.
$50 a week if I send DH. $100 or more if I go

I always overspend cause there's always something on sale that I will need sooner than later. DH goes by the list and the list only.

I live in PA and there are only 2 of us now.

Send me one of those. LOL I get pumpkin pie
only if I buy it. DH doesn't like it.
Tried to send but guess what?
My street address ends in Trace and it said I had to put in road, street, etc.- would not accept the Trace. I appreciate it anyway.
Wish you would send some this way (Atlanta)!
xx
Yep, see above. I did send them and feel
wonderful! It was even more fun than giving gifts because it seed more old fashioned and personal. Thanks for the egging on. As the above poster said, now I can't wait to see if anybody responds! Merry Christmas to you!
Send them a letter . . .
stating that the debt is not valid. They will have to prove the debt is valid within 30 days before they can continue trying to collect. A lot of times, collection agencies buy up batches of bad debt for pennies on the dollar and do not have documentation to prove it is a valid debt. Many times, they give up after this, but will sell it to another collection agency. Also send a letter telling them to stop contacting you. It is a good idea to send these letters certified.

If they cannot prove it, dispute it if it is on your credit reports. Also check your state's statute of limitations for collecting debt. In my state it is 7 years. If they do not collect it by then, they are legally out of luck.

Lastly, if they prove it is a valid debt and it is within the legal time frame, you can negotiate a payoff with them. Don't pay more than the original debt because they only paid pennies on the dollar for it.
Here they send deputies after you.

Why would ask for opinions if you are going to
call those who disagree with you "uptight busybodies." You asked for opinions and you got them, plain and simple. We don't all have to agree. We all just have our own opinions. Just think how boring life would be if we all agreed on everything. Have a blessed day!
Would like opinions please

Okay, I am going to try to make this as short as possible. This regards my grandparents and cousins. My grandparents are my world, although I don't get to see them as much as I would like. My two cousins, who are brother and sister, and I have always been close. Cousin #1 and I have always been very close friends, sister-type close.

I have not been able to get ahold of my grandparents in almost a month. My grandfather has the beginning stages of dementia, and the last time I talked to them was on Father's Day.

Jumping around here a bit, I had a baby in April. Cousin #1 has not even called and asked about the baby, has not wanted to come by (she was there with me when the first two were born and has always considered my kids "her kids." I have called her numerous times with no return calls. Yesterday I sent her a text message asking if she had talked to my grandparents, and she did not answer.

After that, I sent my other cousin a message on Myspace and asked if he had spoken to them and how they were doing. I was able to see that he had read the message, but he did not answer it.

The last time I spoke to cousin #1 was about two weeks before the baby was born. She said she had not been feeling well and missed a lot of work, so she did not know if she could make it to the hospital. I told her I understood and I hoped she would start feeling better soon. After all of the unanswered calls, I sent her an E-card and told her I felt like I must have upset her and to please call so that we could talk it out.

This is becoming quite long, I am sorry about that! The only thing I can possibly think of is that I named the baby after my step-dad, not my dad. In regards to that, however, I have a brother who is my dad's namesake, and felt like that was his place, not mine. I really did not think that my family would get so upset as to not talk to me, though.

Any thoughts? Thanks for all opinions.

Thanks for your opinions . . . sm
I have decided since I don't feel 100% comfortable, I will not allow it to happen. I am ready to hear "you're the meanest mother in the world." Someday when he's grown I can explain . . . right?
Need opinions!!!

I just recently got back in touch with an old friend from high school.  We made plans to take our kids somewhere together this Saturday.  I should preface this by saying I'm married and she's not.  When I talked to her last night to firm up our plans, she asks me if my husband was going.  Well, I thought it was just me and her taking our kids out and I wasn't going to ask my husband to go along since she's not married.  Then she says that she's been "meaning to tell me" that her new boyfriend is going with her.  My husband cannot go because of work so now, if I go, I'm stuck with her and her new boyfriend who I do not know.

Do y'all think I'm crazy for feeling weird about this?  I don't want to be a third wheel on her date, especially with my kids along.

Thanks for any opinions!!

Need opinions. Do you think it is possible...sm
for a relationship to survive if you are involved with a man who is currently going through a divorce?  I myself am divorced and have been for 5 years so I have dealt with my "issues."  The man I have been talking to has been separated from his wife for 1 year and is in the process of filing for divorce.  In our state you have to be separated for 1 year if there are children involved.  I have known this man for almost 3 years.  I met him in a professional environment and just happened to run into him last summer and he told me about his separation, etc.  For the past 8 months or so we have talked on a regular basis and have occasionally spent time together.  He has met my children but I have not met his children.  Now things seem to be taking a different turn.  He is starting to talk like he wants to progress to the next level with a relationship with me.  I don't want to be the rebound person.  I just wonder if anyone has been in a similar situation and how it turned out.  I just need some input from other women who have been in this situation.  Thanks.
Are you asking for opinions? sm
I think your instincts are correct that she is jumping in too soon, waaaay too soon. I wish she would consider the kids and what they've been through and the example she is setting. Have you spoken to her about your take on this?
Well thanks for the opinions.

There are a few more old timer's like me on this board.   I probably won't mainly because of the hounding she is doing.  It is a nuisance and it does need to stop.  H and I went looking for a new car because the hospital I work for is cutting back on their MTs and they offered me a job doing something else in-house. I just need a car that gets good gas mileage.  Anyway, she kept insisting we get the first car we drove.  I told dd to quiet down, that dad and I will make the decision.  H told her, dd, you go to school, you listen to your teacher and make good grades, then you land youself a good paying job and you can get whatever car you want on this lot, but until then, you're on Mom and Dad's budget.  Poor dd when H is around.  She will say "I want, I want" H will say I want a lot of things. I am wondering of the other girls that she saw are just wearing those sports bra type thingys.

You ask for opinions and then you say should know better?

Need your opinions please

Okay MTs, here's the deal need your opinions please . . .  Made an appointment at American's Best that 2 pairs of glasses for $69.95 deal – bad experience all around!  Glasses ended up costing me over $250.00!  When I picked them up one pair was broken!  They fixed on the spot – I took them home – cannot wear either pair, as they give me a headache.  I had a feeling they wouldn't be right because the eye doctor came off as a complete ***** to me.  First off he tried to tell me there were special contract lens that would allow me to and I quote "see my dreams clearly."  Okay – dreams are a brain function.  You do not need prescription eye wear to see dreams!  And in my opinion he violated HIPAA.  While I was in the waiting area between testing for field vision etc.  He informed me in front of others waiting in that same area of my tests results.  My results are my business not any other patients in the waiting room.  Anyway, I returned today to return the glasses for my money back – they advertise a 30-day return.  They gave me nothing but grief.  Only refunded me for $147.00 when I paid over $200.00 plus I had to pay for that advertised free eye exam (which I understand since I didn't want glasses I cannot wear).  I’m livid.  I'm still out $103.00, plus I'm sure the eye exam money is basically wasted because the flipping ****** didn't do the prescription right.  Both glasses were supposed to be the same prescription yet one pair I could see distance somewhat okay, but got headaches/dizzy – the other pair – useless couldn't see period!  I paid extra for coatings for anti-glare that I don't believe were done.  Please don't go there – save yourself a major headache.  Others were in the same store when I was trying to get my money back for the same reasons.  Anyway – long story short – did the eye doctor violate HIPAA in your opinions?  My tests were okay – but that was my business.  And if you believe he violated me . . . where do I report him?  I’m sick of being taken advantage of by places like this.  Thanks.  I'm sorry if there are any errors in my typing – I'm livid.  Oh—did I mention when he dilated my eyes (3 drops) they stayed that way not for hours but entire day!  My eyes burned and I wasn't "back to normal" for a week.  I'm furious.

want opinions -
Been there with my daughter - follow your instincts. I said "yes" but way later found it was not so innocent. Wish I had followed my instinct! Even though she was safe and had a blast, it opened the door to a life style I wish she had not traveled.
not you again....we can all have opinions...
remember free speech? This is my opinion. Why the bitterness towards me? One would think you were jealous or a stalker....
Need your opinions...
If your mother-in-law came to your house for your child's b-day parties and did not speak to you, say hello, or goodbye, would you consider this to be disrespectful? This did not happen just 1 time, it has happened at all 3 of our daughter's b-day parties. Would your husband confront his mother on this? If not would you?
Other dr opinions
If you're not sure, then by all means get him in to see another doctor for another opinion.  I have heard, however, that mono can take up to a year for someone to fully recover from.
PS: I didn't send the letter...Thanks! nm
/
I just wanted to send my sympathy your way...
May you find comfort in the Lord.
No, she did not send me the exact thing,
did not know I would have to explain, she sends me rah-rah-rah all for the war type things which I delete. I choose to read other things instead of this.
After we type in the post and we hit send...sm

After we type a post and click on Post Reply - we get sent to an authentication page to type in a code...like 2d4s or something.  Someone last week had asked MTStars to fix it so that when we get to that page, the mouse/cursor ends up automatically in the box so all we have to do is type the code, versus how it was before - we had to place the mouse/cursor into that little box.  MTStars addressed this poster by fixing it.  I was not the poster who asked for the fix but I certainly recognized the fix and was just thanking MTStars for fixing it.

Have a great weekend!!!

I would love to send you 2 books. Please consider sm
this. I lost 2 family members on the same day back in March and I know your pain. email me and I will get them out to you.
I know you are looking for on-line help, but these books can be read in a day. Very easy reading. One book I know the author personally, attended a class he taught, and is a very good man. Email me.

I would send it back - word does have it
In MS Word this is how I get my line count to submit on my invoice....
At the top screen click on tools, then click on Word count. I use the line that is characters (with spaces) and divide by 65. Have used this method for 5 years and have never had a problem.
