Head & Shoulders or other similar shampoo (sm)

That helps me with lots of skin ailments - I use it under my arms so I won't be stinky and it works great :-)  Might be worth a shot anyway.

Have you tried the OTC shampoos - Head/Shoulders, Denorex,

I use Dawn dish detergent, shampoo twice. Also use powder before bed on my head
I put the powder on my scalp and work it through the hair close to my head at bedtime. The powder absorbs the oil. This gives me a couple of extra days between shampoos.
I only use adult shampoo on her..shampoo &

this might work for shoulders (sm)
I've never had problems with my elbows, but I found that putting my keyboard on my lap provides a very natural, relaxed posture for my arms and shoulders. I would get shooting pains my upper back and shoulders and since putting the keyboard on my lap (about 8 years now) I have no pain at all.

Congrats on the weight loss!! :-)
My daughter had these last year on her shoulders
I got ointment with aloe in it for burns that had also lidocaine and put loose gauze over top.  The blister will pop on its own.  It will probably be sore once it pops, so keep it covered with the gauze.  I added the ointment to take away the sting.  It will not hurt so much if you get the ointment.  I covered them so they wouldn't get infected and "smart" while she slept.
My shoulders and elbows hurt...anyone else have

Ok, a little background.  I recently started a second job.  I am working approximatley 12-14 hours a day (typing and other MT stuff).  I have recently lost over 60 pounds.  Over the weekend, I did raise my chair up some and that did seem to help, (I guess some of that 60 pounds was the big pillow I was sitting on!)but I still have some pain.  Does anyone else experience this?  If so, what did you do to help.  I am 28, so I hope it isn't arthritis or anything yet!  I am not a medicine taker and don't want to start taking anti-inflammatories or anything every day yet.

Thanks!

Or White Shoulders or any of those very heavy
s
I would like to take you by your shoulders and give you a good
shaking. You don't realize your life is passing you by and you are settling. I know because I am in the golden years now but I wasted so much time and energy on, well nothing actually. There are so many men out there, 1 that can love you and not irritate the h... out of you, a person who cares about you and puts you first. I only wish I had met my husband now and not wasting so many good years.
White Shoulders is a very light floral,
a very feminine scent. Not heavy at all. Beautiful smells wonderful, but I think it is heavy. I wear Amazing Grace & LOVE IT.
For sore neck & shoulders I swear by - sm
Flexall Extra-Strength. (Used to be 'Flexall 454'). Has a menthol/linament kind of smell (which I like), but who cares - it works like a charm for me on those tight, stressed-out muscles. Not only when working, but when going to bed at night, too. Cat hates it, but too bad. I LOVE it.

Also helpful was buying an adjustable, keyboard try that attaches under the desk. By typing with the keyboard basically in my lap, it opens the angles of my elbows (pain in those is from bone spurs, when elbow is flexed to 90 degrees or more). Also, having the keyboard low, with very nice soft, cushy wrist-rest, takes the load off my shoulders from trying to hold my hands higher.

I change chair height frequently during the day, also get up and move around. I make sure to get out and exercise (jog, walk, bike, skate, go to gym, etc.) once a day, too. Got a chair that is adjustable 5 ways: seat tilt, seat height, back height, back tilt, and lumbar support. Keeping the room warm helps, too. When thumb & wrist arthritis flares up, I take aspirin & wear typing gloves to keep hands warm.

Last, but not least, I keep knee chondromalacia at bay with Osteo Bi-Flex (glucosamine & chondroitin) daily.
Shampoo sm
I totally agree! I can't tell you how many times I have gotten home only to find that I ended up with 2 conditioners or 2 shampoos instead of 1 of each. My fault, I know, but I've done this despite being (I thought) extremely careful so it didn't happen again. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky to have such an array to choose from.
I usually tip 15% because I also tip the shampoo person.,,,,
But if the hairdresser does it all, including the shampoo, etc., I tip closer to 20%.
60 does some too high.. I pay 60 for shampoo,

How is it different from regular shampoo?
Is it conditioning? I have to avoid conditioning shampoos, so I've wasted a lot of money trying shampoos that are all about conditioning the hair (It irritates the skin).
Can we talk about Shampoo....
It is really a bit annoying to me to try and buy shampoo these days. I just want a bottle that says "Shampoo---for clean hair", but trying to read all the labels and pick out a bottle is kind of getting on my nerves. First, you have to find the one that says "shampoo" and that isn't easy since it is written in 2 different languages. (And let me say right now that immigrants that speak Spanish do not bother me in the least bit--and I don't care whether they speak English---just to get that out of the way, cause this isn't about that at all.) Then you have to read whether it is for frizzy hair, dry hair, colored hair, hair that needs hydrating, hair that needs dehydrating, permed hair, gray hair, shampoo & conditioner (which I do not want).......!

I mean can't there be just "Shampoo" and that's it?

Is it just me, or anyone else out there having this problem? Maybe I'm getting to be a bit crabby in my old age, but I would rather spend that time doing something else instead of studying the dang shampoo shelves.

If I don't shampoo my hair every day...sm
It is so oily the next day it looks like I haven't washed it in a week. I have to wash it everyday. It would be nasty if I didn't. I wish I didn't but I do.
Depends on the shampoo I use sm
We have well water, and I buy a special shampoo for that. If I don't, I get an orangish tinge to my hair and it does not stay clean for even a whole day. Also, I can only use a tiny amount of conditioner because my hair tends to be oily. That said, I usually only wash my hair every other day, more because of my schedule than anything.
Does any know if kids shampoo
I was at a salon the other day with my 2 girls, one 7, the other 3.  I asked the stylist if it I should wash my 7-year-old's hair in regular shampoo instead of the kid shampoo I get.  I have done it once or twice when I ran out of shampoo.  She didn't say yes or no, she just said that she wouldn't because kid shampoos have an ingredient in it that prevents lice.  She said the detangler spray in particular is what helps.  I tried to Google that but haven't come up with anything.  I was just wondering if anyone else heard it.  TIA
Also Nizoral shampoo might be just the ticket.
I like the OTC one, but there is also a Rx one with the same active ingredient. I just didn't like it as well.

The OTC one is expensive, like $12 a bottle, but it's great stuff.

ideal for oily scalp. It won't damage your hair, either. I alternate with Nystatin (OTC) dandruff shampoo.
I tell you what shampoo WILL prevent lice...sm
At Sally's the generic Paul Mitchell's tea tree oil shampoo. Tea Tree Oil kills lice so if you shampoo with it it prevents them. It is not a lice killer it is just regular shampoo. It smells a lot like peppermint to me. I used it when my son started kindergarden because I didn't want him to get lice. Kids in his clss had it and he never got it. It is a little expensive but worth it to me.
When I get dry, itchy scalp I make a shampoo...sm
I copied this from my vinegar book for you.

Apple Cider Vinegar-for your hair/scalp PH balances
Dandruff and Itchy Scalp: add two teaspoons of ACV to a large glass of warm water. Lean your head over a sink and carefully pour the mixture over your entire scalp. Wrap your head in a towel for 15 minutes. Unwrap head, comb hair and then wash hair as usual. The acidic nature of ACV combined with its potent enzymes can help scalp problems such as dandruff, itchy scalp, baldness and thinning hair. Apple cider vinegar also stimulates hair follicles to encourage the growth of healthier hair.

All Natural Shampoo (ACV)
Add the following ingredients in a blender:
1 oz. Olive oil
1 egg
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ACV.
Use as you would a regular shampoo

Herbal Hair Rinse Combinations Using ACV
Use ¼ fresh herb or you can use dry ones. You can use any herb you like. Add to 1 quart boiling water. Let is steep until cool strain then add 2 tablespoons of ACV. Certain herbs can enhance your hair color, as well as condition it. Rosemary and parsley are good for dark hair, sage will darken graying hair, chamomile will highlight blonde or light brown hair, calendula conditions, lavender and lemon verbena add fragrance, linden is good for frequently shampooed hair, and nettles will control dandruff.

My daughter had this problem, ended up she was using a shampoo
for oily hair that made her hair over-compensate for using the oily shampoo and it produced more oil, hence her having to wash her hair more often, try switching shampoos. I feel for you.

Would go find another eye specialist ASAP. I have this happen once in a while but not on a consistent basis. Can also be allergy related, i.e. if you use eye makeup or anything like that, or even if you are allergic to other stuff.

I am allergic to Pine Sol. When I use it, my eyes swell up and go shut. It is an awful thing to behold, let me tell you.
The only thing that works for my youngest daughter is Prell shampoo. nm

It sure looks like we could head toward ...sm
a great depression. Well about the questions. My mom is queen of stocking up. I do some too. But not like her. I need to do it more. But the things you stock up on are like mostly things that will stay good a while like can items and flour and corn meal and cooking oil and cereals. Just look at the dates and see when it expires so you can see how long it will stay good. Canned items you have a few years usually. Stock up on drinks, tea, coffee, sugar. My mom puts sugar, flour, and corn meal and rice and things like that in stock piles in her freezer. It will keep a long time in there. What my mom does and me too is look in the sale paper at the grocery store and when something goes on sale and is a good deal buy plenty. Like one time they put hamburger helper on sale for $1 a box and my mom bought 10 of them. Just look for good cheap deals and stock up. Toilet paper too. Paper towels. Soap. Whatever. Just when you catch sales get a little here and there and put it up. Don't go spend a fortune in one day.
As far as shortages of food I have no idea.
$4 a head?!?!

Wow.  Plotzing right next to you.  jeez.

I put up a greenhouse last year, which I love.  It's still being tweaked so I haven't completely maximized its use yet, but all my plants made it through its first winter.  We even planned ahead and my handyman ran electric and water into it, so it's pretty self contained.

I love growing things, but don't necessarily like to be outside for the growing of them.  Weird, I know.  Plus, the greenhouse lets me stay away from my creepy neighbor who makes passes at me while his ailing/dying wife is inside.

The other thing that I've started doing to try to cut costs is hanging the clothes out on a line.  I've seen a lot of comments about that lately, too.   I'm really curious to see how much of a difference that makes on the old electric bill.

I think your gut has already told you what your head
knows - avoid this change at all costs.  I won't go into all the reasons I would avoid because you know them in your heart - best of luck!
Wow. You SO hit the nail on the head with this one--sm
It seriously sounds like you have been there before and found your way out of it somehow. I so applaud your way of helping this poor exhausted woman, and I feel badly for her, because I have been there too. My ex was ALOT like this, controlling, passive-aggressive, and had a very abusive anger problem, as well. She did not state how long she has been with this man, but if things don't change, I fear abuse may be the next step. In my experience, people like this do not change. You do. Sometimes the only way to change the situation is to leave it, entirely. forever. I am also sorry to say that when I left my ex after 13 years of abusive control, he moved on to the next one...she took her own life after 14 years due to the same treatment. He married again after that, with the roles reversed and his wife controlling him...he took his own life last year. The ones who suffer? the children. MY children, his children, who will never be the same because of all of this. Think about all of this *exhausted*. It is only meant to help you open your eyes, see your options, and ACT on them...for your sake, and your children. Hugs to you, as well. Your post brought back some very unpleasant memories for me. Good luck to you!!!
The coroner's head . . .
What's with Anna Nicole's coroner's head.  Has anyone else noticed this?  The left side of his head is just out of wack.  Do you think he has craniosynostosis?
his head IS very very bizarre
I also noticed this.  I have never seen anything like it in my life!  It almost looks like part of his skull is gone.  I kept staring yet didn't want to look, if you know what I mean!
Did you hit your head before or after fainting?
?

When I got this flu, I did have a touch of the tummy trouble, but no fainting. But both sides of my neck were very sore to the touch. Must have been nodes, but weird that it was such large areas. I took Tamiflu, and the neck soreness went away, but I still had chills and exhaustion for 2 weeks.
my mom said same thing about wet head...

it's like if you spill the salt, it's bad luck....these are old *wives tales* perpetuated WAY_BACK_WHEN....a.k.a. superstitions for some of them...

don't walk under a ladder

don't let a black cat cross your path

swallow a watermelon pit and you grow a watermelon in tummy

swallow a piece of gum and it stays in your system for 7 years or clogs you up

(Most of them are ridiculous and a waste of time)....I have owned black cat(s), purposefully walked under ladders, spilled salt and think nothing of it, swallowed gum and/or small pits of fruits, and I'M STILL KICKIN.......and getting OLDER THAN DIRT *L*

you hit the nail on the head! Thank you for saying better than me. sm

He did not offer to pay for the car.  When you are in marching band in high school you don't always have the luxury of working. He taught music lessons.  That was enough for spending money not car payments.  He has a scholarship but other than that I pay for everything.

We had a good talk this afternoon.  I told him that there would come a time in the not too distant future when that trip would be allowed.  However, I want a phone call before he leaves and one when he gets there.  I want to know he made it safely.  Honestly, I told him I was not mad about this and I understood that he wanted to see her, but lying is wrong.  End of story.  When I asked him if he was there I wouldn't have been near as upset if he had told me the truth but he kept digging his hole deeper and deeper.

I don't know what my husband is going to decide to do about the car.  I asked him to consider leaving it.  I told him I don't think my son will do it again.  I told him that it is important that the girlfriend's parents like him and pulling crap like this is not going to endear them to him.

I put the idea in my husband's mind that maybe he could take a picture of the speedometer when he gets there tonight so that we know the milage.  He is going to talk to him tonight.  If he did that, he will still have local use of his car.  I don't know.  Everyone is pretty upset right now. Me, my husband, my son, his girlfriend, her parents.

I actually think that maybe he understand where I am coming from.  I reminded him what if I got a phone call saying he was in an accident and severely hurt or worse and I think he is safe at school.

Wow - you hit the nail on the head - for me (sm)
"...hung onto the relationshipeve afer it was obviously not good for us. I think we just had to prove that we were good enough to be loved." That is exactly how I ended up in this marriage and exactly why I have been in it for so long. I was so determined to prove that I was good enough to be loved. Unfortunately, now there are children involved and I have to figure out what is best for them.
My mom always held my car over my head....

and it honestly just encouraged me to lie to her.  My kids are younger, so God only knows what I'll do when they are teenagers, as I know that is a very hard time, but your son is in college now, and I think it is reasonable for him to want to drive to see his girlfriend on weekends.  I was always a pretty honest kid with my mom, but losing my car was a big deal, so I did lie to her from time to time, because even though I felt bad lying it didn't feel as bad as losing my car would have!

Is your son maintaining good grades?  If so, I wouldn't worry about his texting or how much he is talking to his girlfriend, because I honestly think that is his business and he will have to learn some hard lessons by messing up - not by having his mom tell him how life is all the time.  Sometimes you have to learn that you can fall and pick yourself back up.  If he is getting really bad grades, however, then of course you should step in because you don't want him messing up that scholarship!  I'm already afraid for when my boys go off to college because I know how much many college kids drink and party and am afraid they will drink too much or something and get hurt, but if your son is just wanting to see his girlfriend then that might actually keep him from partying as much as other college kids.  Are you just worried that he will get hurt on the drive to see her or something?  Does he have a safe car?

I would say just be careful.  If this girlfriend is really nice and he feels like you "messed up" his relationship with her in any way he might try to get back at you by dating a "lesser quality" girl or something.  Good luck to you.  I'm sure this is a difficult situation, but it's great he got a scholarship and is a good kid overall.
