You need to find out the truth because this will bother you for the rest of your life.  Also, please protect yourself from STDs.  Unless your husband is a real jerk to people, I don't see any reason why someone would send such a note for no reason.  I would either hire an investigator or do it yourself (spyware on the PC, monitor cell phone records, etc.).  And whatever you do, do not throw the letter away.  If you discover this accusation is true, you may be able to use that letter as evidence in the future.
