here are other things I've learned to get during hurricane season, which could be useful:

Soups, crackers, peanut butter, Bisquick, canned chili, tamales, etc., cereal & powdered milk, Crystal Light or Koolaid in case you run out of sodas & are sick of plain water, dinners like Velveeta Macaroni and those Homestyle Bakes that don't need any ingredients to make, canned sandwich spreads like chicken salad, Malt-O-Meal or oatmeal... you get the idea. Easy things to make that don't take many ingredients and keep for long periods of time.
